Fantastic and beautiful place. The staff were outstanding, the food was delicious, and the countryside backdrop made our experience a very pleasant one. We will be returning.

It was my first time visiting this pub in about 35 years! Just purchased a new home in walking distance, so this is my new local. The owners and staff were very welcoming, as were the other local customers. I enjoyed a lovely pint of Fullers ESB while taking in the old-world charm of the building. I ventured out back to the rear courtyard, the beer garden, which has plenty of seating. While I sat there enjoying my pint in the sun, I watched a Spitfire fly overhead, perfect entertainment. The menu looked great, and I have booked a table for later in the week. I'm pleased I went in and had a drink.

We were happily welcomed for our one night stay in one of their lovely courtyard accommodation rooms. We had also booked an evening meal in their popular pub and the food was sumptuous and excellent...breakfast the following day was also excellent and generous

My sister, two friends and I went for lunch last week. The pub is lovely, the staff helpful and friendly and the food was just great. Two had the crab salad and the other two had the fish pie, both were delicious. We would heartily recommend this pub.

Plenty of car parking space. Very friendly and helpful staff. Some parts of the dining areas are a little dark for my liking. Tables in bar area are much better in my opinion. Food and drinks were well presented and of good quality. Very good gluten free fish and chips. Pub appears to be run by same people as in The Travellers Joy at Southbourne and Coach and Horses in Hunston.

Just made a brief visit here for refreshment after a long walk. It is such a cosy little pub with a wonderful courtyard garden. The beer was perfect and I'm sure I will return to sample the food menu. Staff were welcoming and efficient.

Have a lovely evening here with friends. Super friendly staff and excellent service. Food was very nice though I felt the steak and kidney pie pastry was a little dry and the mash potato was undewhelming. The pudding, though, was perfect.

Came here for a drink and ended up having food. Food was lovely. Had the special, which was duck. Absolutely fantastic. Cooked perfectly and so flavoursome. 10/10 food and would recommend heavily due to the value for money in terms of food portions. Luke, the bar man, absolutely fantastic. Absolutely elevated our evening!! Funny and super sweet. Nothing was too much, super interactive and really attentive. The only staff member that made an effort to check in on us multiple times and cracked some banging jokes with us. Really sarcastic and down to earth with us which we loved! He is just someone that is very genuine and clearly adores his job

We were recently visiting the Roman Villa so I researched local pubs for lunch, the clear stand out for food was The Bull’s Head. Amongst the many highly-rated reviews was a long-winded character assassination of a young staff member who was described as having a beard & ponytail who was ‘cocky & arrogant’. This did not put me off and when entering the pub, I was intrigued to find this young man serving. I personally find rude people rather entertaining so alas, I am disappointed to report that he was polite, efficient, great fun to talk to and utterly charming! In my experience, businesses that support their staff - and do not tolerate pernickety behaviour, rudeness and often ‘arrogance’ from the public - make for happy work places and as a result are particularly pleasant places to visit. The food was indeed fantastic, we had the Mussels, Beef Bourguignon and Liver and Bacon, all delicious. Many thanks for a great lunch, welcoming atmosphere - great service - with a special mention for the lovely Luke!

mpb and I visited this congenial pub on our way home from a trip to West Wittering Beach. We stopped for a late lunch and ordered two Sunday roasts; beef for mpb and lamb for myself. Both arrived quickly and tasted gorgeous (the gravy was especially nice). Service was excellent until it came time to pay for the bill, at which point it became difficult to find a member of staff to flag down. Despite this, our experience wasn’t ruined, only allowing us more time to sit and chat in what was a very quintessentially-british pub.

Lunch today a little disappointing having selected the wrong thing in truth. Rather tasteless gojuns. Service always good and food too normally!
