Very good service and the food was nice and lots for the kids outside weather depending definitely will be going back

After hearing the positive reviews we was desperate to try this place out. Unforuately for us it wasn't the best. First after we were seating and ordered our drinks we was told someone would be over to take our food order, this is so long to the point we started getting fed up. Then after our food came out which came with peppercorn sauce, there just wasn't enough sauce which made the dish dry, so I asked for dome more sauce as it was a struggle to eat to which they did this. The whole time I felt uncomfortable by the waitress constantly staring at me, it somewhat awkward for me. We had dessert and that was amazing! Got the bill only to find they added on the peppercorn sauce! This is extremely annoying as on the dish it just wasn't enough. Overall wasn't the best experience. Thanks

NA nice friendly pub, I had Sunday Lunch with a Friend and the food was delicious also I had a sweet, Very nice would highly recommend and I'm coming back to try other food off the menu.

Extremely busy on Good Friday but this did not affect the high standards at The Bulls Head! Service was spot on and the food was excellent. For four adults, mains, pudding and six drinks cost £20 each, such good value! Looking forward to next visit.

Big shout out the chef, food is always spot on! Great service from the staff especially Madison; nothing is too much trouble and always happy to help. All staff are super smiley and welcoming - Great experience over all.

I haven't been here for quite some time, will definitely be back, the food was lovely service was quick and it was a fairly busy lunch the staff were excellent..

All the staff were very welcoming, Amy found us a table as this was a last minute drop in on a busy Thursday lunch time. Ashley and Courtney were happy that we ordered 1 course at a time. (Very thoughtful for slow eaters) checking to replace clean cutlery after each dish. Food and wine were lovely & well presented. We chose off the main menu and not the lunch time specials not realising the additional size. Downsize we did not manage to order a dessert, due to having a starter and large mains. All the service staff had time for the customers, ensuring they all had an enjoyable visit. Nothing was too much trouble for the team.

First meal at the Bulls Head did not disappoint. Me and my partner had a three course meal and it was lovely from start to end. The only reason for 4 stars was the chips accompanying the steak were slightly cold. My partners skin-on fries however, were perfect 😋 Every other item was wonderful, service was fantastic and we will 100% be returning

Lunch time light menu is excellent, so we'll presented, a step up from other pubs. Tuxford chicken and Camenbert Chicken recommended.

We had the most stunning food mains and sweets, WOW!!! It was absolutely flavoursome . I would recommend to anyone to try if they've never been to visit yu won't be disappointed.

Wow can't say enough positive things about the Bulls Head at abbots Oak. 1st the food........AMAZING!!! Had the lunch special Atlantic cod and chips and my friend had the garlic chicken flat bread Every mouthful was delicious. So good we had a desert too. Both the malteser cheesecake and oreo pot were to die for. 2nd.....the staff Amy and dan amazing hosts and super helpful, would absolutely recommend going there 100%

Had an Amazing dinner this evening, lovely service from Mavis, Fay, Leah and Ashley. We were greeted at the door by the lovely chef Emily who was smiling and really welcoming, which added to the great atmosphere. I was also told the name of the chef that perfected my gammon steak which was the Liam. I want to thank the staff, for an amazing evening we will be back!!!

Mixed grill was generous in portions, tasty. Staff were attentive. A good everyday casual eating and drinking experience. Best recommendation I can give is that I will be back.

Really nice food, lovely surroundings and very happy, pleasant staff. We arrived just after 6pm on a Thursday with no booking and it was lovely to see lots of cars in the car park. We were happily seated and the food arrived promptly. Reasonably priced too with a good selection.

Love the meals price is all ways good , polite hard working staff . Quick service even thow they were very busy .

Just enjoyed a great meal here. Table of 12 people and everyone was happy. Food was delicious and service was great from Ashley. Will certainly be coming back soon!!

We had the most amazing valentines meal! The sharing boards for starter and main were absolutely gorgeous and amazing value for the amount of food we got. Also want to say Thankyou so much to Ashley, Mavis, Fay Ephie for their fabulous service. We never had to wait to get a drink. Highly recommended!!

Moved into area just before Christmas and have been to you for lunch and dinner on four different days and each time all of your staff are very kind and friendly +meals have been very delicious and for the times excellent value for money . So we shall be back to see you soon.

We went to the Bulls Head Abbots Oak for Sunday lunch and it was exceptional portion sizes were good. We were a table of 13 which can sometimes be problematic for establishments but not for the Bulls Head the food came promptly and were friendly attentive overall it was a lovely place to eat. I would highly recommend.

Ii didn't really want to give 5 stars because I don't want this lovely restaurant to become over run with visitors but I also don't want to be mean!! 2nd birthday meal here, not cheap pub grub but good tasty proper food! Sunday dinners are amazing! Took the family here today....13 of us....plus teddy so we had 14 at the table 🤪 All of our meals arrived at the same time, staff were attentive but not annoying! Nothing was too much trouble and even the fussiest eaters in our family could find nothing to complain about!! All fresh food, nothing tinned or frozen.....and the gravy 😋

I’d just like to take time to thank the Bulls Head for hosting my daughter’s 21st birthday meal with all her family. We had such a lovely time here. I’d particularly like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the staff that waited on us all and also the chefs that cooked all 23 meals. Thanks goes to Ashley , Fay , Ephie, Owen, Leah , Emily , Liam, Logan & Brandon. The food was delicious and came out hot and on time so that a big group that we were actually all ate together. The staff were all so helpful and friendly made my daughter’s night very enjoyable. The room we were in looked lovely too with the bits I took over in the day. It was so nice to see smiles on all the staffs faces, they were all so nice made to such a lovely atmosphere. The places is so lovely , I’m not sure why I’ve never known it was there hence my first time visiting , but definitely won’t be my last ! I highly recommend the Seabass that I had , it was DELICIOUS! Thank you so much again x x x

Fab place to have dinner, great service

I had tuxford chicken this was unbelievable, compliments to the chefs hats off to them, emily, brandon , logan and liam, and the lovely manager ashley brillisnt service

We attended for a family dinner. The rice was excellent and the food was great. Prices are competitive and a very varied menu. The pub was quiet but still had enough tan members on to cope and give an excellent experience.

THE BEST OF THE BEST FOOD- Top quality, Bursting with Flavour, Fresh, filling and Amazing. So much variety which will suit even the most Picky of eaters. 0 complaints at all . SERVICE- Can't get better service anywhere else. Extremely friendly Staff, who make you feel very welcomed and looked after. Super attentive too your needs. . ATMOSPHERE- Perfect lighting, Super cosy and warm feel complimented by some Groovy tunes from 70-80s. . Came all the way from Australia with this one place reserved at the TOP of the list. Best Pub and food Anywhere in England. This place will always hold a place in my heart.

Ashley and Amy have always been very welcoming. Came a few times now. Seen them in doorway and went todays gonna be a good one. Being a picky eater they have always catered for myself and other Half's allergies.

Visiting the son at university requires taking him out for a meal. Couldn't recommend The Bulls Head enough, the food was great and the service first class. Fay attended to our needs with a smile and grace.

Wonderful menu choices, spectacular food for all kinds of taste, genuine and friendly staff members, more specifically Ashley and Mavis, we were made to feel very at home and comfortable, so if you’re feeling a welcoming pub with homemade food, The Bulls Head is the place to go 😊

I attended a large family meal here on Friday 1st of November. I just wanted to give a special thank you to Ashley for taking good care of us, nothing was too much and she was super friendly! Very nicely decorated restaurant and very nice quality food. The menu had a good amount of choice and the service was prompt and efficient. Good value for money too - certainly recommended!

Went to The Bulls Head for an impromptu celebration dinner last night. It was the first time we’ve eaten there in a couple of months and were surprised to see a new menu. We received the usual warm welcome and were seated with drinks brought over promptly. I ordered a Rump Steak and my partner the Lasagna. I didn’t like the sauce options and asked if it was possible the streak could come with some beef dripping. Our waiter (Dean, I think…) said he’d see what he could do. As an ex-South African, I do like a good steak but my expectation in the UK is low and even lower from pubs. But I have to say, that despite it not being properly medium rare (it was close!), it was hands down the best pub steak I’ve had in over 25 years of living in the UK. And the beef dripping was really flavoursome too! Along with the amazing onion rings and well cooked chips, I was left stuffed. My partner really enjoyed her Lasagna too - the first she’d had in a pub since being a student. Sadly both of us were too full to attempt any of the nice looking deserts. The not so (anymore) new management have really turned The Bulls Head around. Big thanks to Liam the chef, Amy & Dean who looked after as so well and served up a blinder of a meal!

Absolutely great food and exceptional service when visiting on 3rd November 2024. We had not visited this pub/restaurant since atrocious service from the previous owners, who we found out were now long gone. I can toughly recommend the food served by Sophie and Emily and say a big thank you to all concerned. If you had a bad experience from the previous owners as we did, please try visiting the Bulls Head again, you will not be sorry.

We visited on 25th October 2024 for a late lunch. Had a wonderful meal & the staff were very helpful. My husband ordered a steak ( he likes medium/rare but more on the rare impressed steak was cooked to perfection. Very big shout out to Liam the chef. We came back on 1st with friends for an evening meal & Ashley recognised us from the week before. When hubby ordered the steak she remembered how impressed we had been previously. She checked & Liam was again under pressure to deliver. He did just that & even brought the steak out himself. Well done Liam you're doing a fantastic job & to all the staff. Highly recommend you give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Visited the Bulls Head twice within the last two weeks and had excellent meals on both occasions. The chef knows just how to cook a steak! to perfection!. The venue is tastefully decorated and the staff are attentive without being too invasive. I would highly recommend this establishment.

I had the job of arranging a surprise meal for a large group of people and the bulls head were just fantastic. From booking the table to pre-ordering - to allowing the birthday girl to order on the day to not ruin the surprise. Once at the venue, Ashley was so helpful and just all round lovely to ensure we had what we needed and felt comfortable. We had 6 children in the mix from a baby to an 8 year old and she made me feel like I didn't need to worry and allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. A proper family friendly pub/restaurant. The food was amazing! Honestly, the kitchen did so well to ensure all our meals were still the best quality and all served together. And everyone was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it is to go out and have a 2 course or 3 course meal without breaking the bank! Couldn't recommend enough. Thankyou from us all

We had a lovely meal here, the food was great and the service was amazing. We were showed to our table by Ashley. She and the staff were all really lovely. Such a friendly atmosphere in there! I would definitely recommend!

All pretty good. Food was well worth the money. My belly pork was v. good (although missing the red cabbage and black pudding as promised). Puddings were triff. Service was a tad slow at the end (desserts, bill etc)

Fabulous restaurant. Food was amazing. Ashley was particularly fantastic! So friendly and helpful.

Made to feel very welcome. Such a massive improvement from years ago when I last visited this establishment. The food was delicious even though I had a meal from the light bite menu. Very good service from the 2 waitresses even though it was quite busy. Plenty of outside tables and a children's play when the weather permits. Plenty of car parking spaces. All in all, a delightful lunchtime experience. This is a dog friendly pub restaurant, providing the dog is well behaved and kept under control.

Food was very good apart from childs chicken nuggets were a little over done. Staff seemed frazzled and we were rushed through our meal as they needed our table which we had been promised for a further hour when booked. We ended up having to leave drinks as there was no where to sit and finish them as too cold to sit outside, no worse feeling than being interrupted at a family gathering for a special occasion and asked to leave!!!!!

Had a lovely meal and catch up with a friend yesterday. Staff very friendly and accommodating, especially when hubby was table hopping due to the speaker positions 😁. The lads had steak pies and I had the light bite chicken tikka flatbread. All food enjoyed and puds too. My Malteser cheesecake was lovely. Would happily recommend. Photos attached....... the parsnips were pinched from hubby as he doesn't like them. 😁

Was our first time here food was decent and good size portions. Clean and tidy Service was a little slow but food was fresh and warm! Also it wasn't clear if you ordered at the bar or somebody came to you. But fully catered when asked if they could still do a small plate even though we arrived slightly after 5pm! Just a personal opinion due to eating with a relative who is allergic if pubs/restaurants are dog friendly they should also ask if people are allergic and have consideration of separate seating areas for those who do incase. Would return as overall service was a positive and food was good!
