Brilliant village pub, great atmosphere and very dog friendly!

Lovely place, food was fantastic. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, if we lived this side of town we would certainly be back more often

Went on Saturday 17th August 4 people. The chef must have been away as the meal wasnt very good. One of us had risotto, very thick & claggy, my cesar salad wasnt up to scratch & my sister had soup of the day which was more the consistency of a thick yoghurt. Wont be going again.

The 8oz Rump Steak is the best I've had in ages followed by a lovely pinot grigio. Team are lovely really friendly and welcoming. Dog welcome as well which is amazing.

This local public house has had new management for a few months now and I have visited on several occasions. The beers are kept on tip top condition nice and cold. The food is very good in portions and taste, so much better than the previous owners. Sunday lunch is a highlight of the week. If you like me visited before the new management the standard is way - way above what it was before. I could feel happy and comfortable recommending the Bull at Clifton on Dunsmore Rugby to all. Do go and give it a try, tables can be book online and at busy times I recommend this but they always try and find room for you.

Lovely pub and the food was excellent price and for the quality of food. We took our family dog who was welcome inside and out. Nice size garden for him to roam about. The only reason l gave 4 stars is it would of been nice to have the lighter lunch food at the weekend. It was only available on the menu during the week. Would definitely come again and recommend

We had a suprise party there, food was really good better than we expected. Staff were brilliant with anything we needed. Would definately recommend. Great place for children also.

The food is not to be missed, especially can recommend the burgers. Cruzcampo on tap, friendly atmosphere, staff are great, really lovely family friendly local

Honestly probably the worst Roast I've had in my life. Wish I'd taken a picture to share. It was all stone cold. The potatoes were totally raw. The Yorkshire pudding (is a stretch calling it that) was totally flat and rock hard, not sure that's actually what it was meant to be. If they don't know how to make them they'd be better off not serving them or buying pre bought. We also ordered a side of pigs in blankets, not sure they even saw the oven. Very dangerous to serve undercooked pork. The service was also ridiculously slow, there was one waitress for the entire pup. We were there for a birthday so needless to say it was a big disappointment.

Lovely pub. Food terrible. Ordered Nans chicken it was burnt, not sure that’s how Nan would have served it. Other items came missing ingredients!

The month I decided to start a diet and I find the best breakfast at a great price. Sausages good, bacon good, beans good, eggs and tomatos cooked perfectly and the fried bread wow. See you again soon.

The family has been here a few times after its changed ownership. New staff are lovely, food is great, and overall, the pub has a wonderful vibe. I am so glad the new owners stayed true to a classic English village pub establishment. The steak and ale pie were delicious, and the burgers looked incredible. I hear the Sunday Roast is worthwhile and a must try. All the best to the new ownership, and thank you for keeping traditional village pubs alive!

Just had another top-tier breakfast from The Bull in Clifton - what a great way to start the weekend! The new management have completely reimagined the place, with every aspect now better than before in my opinion. The owners and staff are very friendly and you can tell they are really enthusiastic about delivering a great all-round experience for the customer. Can’t wait to try out their Sunday roast soon as I’ve heard it’s AMAZING! 🐂

Great Quiz Night and very good selection of beers - Sea Fury highly recommended!!! Also very good food and friendly atmosphere always. Stan and his bar team are always helpful and friendly. If you came here before Stan took over, you owe it to yourself to give it another try - a completely different experience now!

Good village pub atmosphere, decent beers at very competitive prices and excellent service from friendly staff. Can't comment on the food as I haven't tried it but anecdotal evidence tells me it's very good

We visited about 3 weeks ago. I struggled to rate this experience any higher than 3 out of 5. Since then however I have heard they now have requested that villagers in the adjacent cottages do not park in their car park. Not only has this been the practice for as long as I can remember ( 55+years). It hasn't gone down well in the community. I for one won't be going back or recommending it to other people now. NB for those not local the car park is huge

Went for Christmas day dinner, cannot fault any members of staff who were all lovely, warm and welcoming. Nice to see a local pub run by a family with 2 generations working together. Food was delicious especially the pudding and everything from drinks to food was reasonably priced. Definitely will be visiting again.

Says open but looks closed down? Didn't realise pub had closed down :( Stopped for a drink whilst walking the dog but was disappointed unfortunately.

I visited regularly until it closed and was looking forward to my recent visit, but unfortunately was very disappointed. Pool table in front of where a warm welcoming fire and sofas originally were has ruined the cosy welcome. No atmosphere. Food was not great - fish overcooked and dry; not an inspiring menu and overpriced for what ends up on the plate. Acoustics in the bar were hollow. The environment and decor was like a cheap outdated holiday cafe. One good point - the staff were lovely.

Great place!! Me and the wife decided to take the dog for a walk and then popped in for something to eat as the pub is dog Friendly. Great traditional Pub with great food, the side of chips was huge in size and the chips themselves were massively thick but I am not complaining 😁 Great place and definitely will return 👍

Claimed their roast dinner was home made. Excluding the very over cooked veg, I am fairly certain the rest was all heated up and ready made (from frozen). I was quite disappointed, especially for the price. I wont be returning.

Sadly, it was freezing cold, although heating was on. Lady behind bar was lovely. Food was disappointing no Lemon for scampi and chips, ran out tartar sauce.

Such a sad story, I'm afraid. My father died a few days ago and wished to have his wake at The Bull. We sent a message to the new owners Joe and Natalie 8 days ago asking them to come up with a menu and some ideas. They didn't respond other than to tell us it was £10 per head and that would be £1,500 in total. We were shocked at the astronomical price and asked what kind of food we would get. He told us he had never done a buffet before since taking over the pub from his dad. We decided that this isn't suitable so we asked if he would allow us to have The Chefs Kitchen to deal with the catering in order to provide the top quality food we want for anyone attending the wake and the answer was simply no, you have to buy our food. So following on from all this we have had no choice to change the venue. Bob visited this pub nearly every day for the last 15 to 20 years and this is how they treat him. Sheer desperation and daylight robbery. Honestly I can't put into words just how annoyed I am.

Management has changed recently and this place is more friendly than it used to be. We called in at lunch time whilst out walking. We had sandwiches which came with salad and crisps on the side, lovely thick granary bread and a tasty filling. They have St Austell Proper Job and Tribute on tap which pleased my husband no end as he loves PJ! Lunch and two drinks each - just under £20, great value - oh and the pubs is lovely and clean and warm too. Recommended!

Absolutely fantastic, delicious mixed grill which had ‘everything’ and more and amazing fish and chips . Generous portion sizes . So fresh. Highly recommend. Should’ve taken a picture but once it arrived we got tucked it in . Thank you 😊

Nice chilled atmosphere not your usual village pub where everyone stops and looks at the outsiders. Lol! Food looked and smelt really good, will update when I get a chance to try it for myself!

Fantastic pub with really friendly staff. They make you feel really welcome and like part of the family. The chef is amazing with a huge repertoire of gluten free meals that everyone can enjoy, his gluten free chocolate fudge cake is to die for!

Came here for a group meal last night and wasn't disappointed! Lovely traditional pub with excellent service and atmosphere. We came for a Christmas meal and was 20 of us, all of which had good meals and mainly steaks which were all cooked to our liking. Cannot recommend enough and will be back soon

Visited on a Saturday evening, booked table for 5pm. Lots of parking and dog friendly. There was four in our party and two were gluten free. Very good gluten free options. Good selection of beers and gins available and even provided water for the dog. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Came for a Sunday lunch, bringing an elderly relative from a care home for a day out. Dan couldn't have been more accommodating, put us in a side room, wore a mask all the time, was really understanding about the entire situation. Plus... The food was great and the portion sizes absolutely enormous. Really great spot

A group of us came for Sunday roast. Food was delicious, meats tender, and portions generous. The large roast lived up to its name! Friendly staff and good service.

I came here on the weekend for a family friends birthday meal. The pub was lovely, a real traditional pub with proper pub grub food. There was 10 of us at the table, and even though there was a larger number of people than the standard, our food did take quite a while to come out, we waited around an hour for everyone to be eating at the same time. I ordered a rare fillet steak which was cooked to perfection though, could not fault the taste of the food one bit. The staff were really friendly and gave good customer service. The atmosphere was great and the whole place was clean. Ultimately, despite the long wait, it wouldn't put me off coming back again.

Wonderful filling meal, 3 days until Christmas, very accommodating on the spur of the moment. Going to a chain... Come here instead.

We had our first meal here last night since the pub was taken over. The 'homemade mashed potato' was very lumpy and the rest of the food was very average. From what we heard, we were not the only ones who were not completely satisfied with someone else stating their chips weren't cooked properly.

Feel like I'm reviewing a different pub to the others! Staff were friendly but locals were pretty cold and eye-balled us. Ordered a roast beef that was horrendous, over cooked meat and vegetables and cold. I got the bacon and cheese burger that was missing cheese and looked like it had been thrown together, huge inedible chunks of raw onion. For the pleasure of them, wings, a kid's meal, a beer and 2 juices we were charged £45, not worth it at all.

Stan and the team did an amazing spread for my Fathers funeral last week - couldn't have asked for anything more. The Bull has always been a good busy pub but it is also great for functions. Thanks guys
