Went for food on Friday. Both my husband and I had the sirloin steak. Best steak we've had for some time. The presentation is great and the extras give the meal restaurant quality. Good selection of wine and beer. Desserts always of high quality.

Terry and Ethel Preston We had a meal at The Denbigh last night and excellent it was too. Both the starter and main course were excellent I had the Pidgin breast for starter and it was really tasty I then had the pork belly that was not too fatty and was really tender super. We didn’t have a DESSERT as there was no option for a Diabetic. As with most restaurants pubs they cater for vegetarian and vegan (which is by CHOICE) but diabetics have a medical condition and as it’s type 1 caution has to be taken. Thanks for a great meal and we shall be back again.

Lovely traditional local pub. The staff were friendly, and the food was excellent! As vegetarians, we were very pleased with the vegan and vegetarian options on the Sunday menu. The dessert menu also had lots of choices. You will need to book a table for Sunday lunch as it's very popular. We will be visiting again!

Food lovely, but sort your sticky tables out...please!!! Thought we'd give an evening meal a go at this place as it gets good reviews. First impressions aren't great to be honest. The place feels like it needs a refurb and it doesn't feel very cosy. At first we were going to eat in the bar area, but it didn't feel very welcoming and all of the tables were sticky. So we moved through to the restaurant area. Again all the table were very sticky - most off-putting. I wanted to walk out at this point, but my wife encouraged me to stay. Got the menus and to be fair they sounded yummy. Also the staff were lovely. We both ordered different main courses and I have to say, the food was excellent and went a long way to change my opinion of the place. We would actually go back for the food, so all-in-all, it was a tale of two halves! Oh,and my pint was good too. But please, please landlord/landlady - if you're listening, sort the sticky tables out! It sets a very bad impression, and it's an easy and cheap fix - It doesn't take much just to re-sand and treat some table tops or even get new ones!!!

My husband and I saw this pub and the walk on the belocal app (pub not on belocal at the moment but hopefully will be), and we decided to book in for lunch. We would highly recommend this pub. It’s a lovely traditional pub, with a very pretty beer garden and in a chocolate box village. We had the Ploughman’s Lunch which was just perfection and just great to see it on the menu. It was a good size and had a great selection of items on it, presented really well on a wooden board. With cider, sunshine and all of this, it honestly doesn’t get much better. Thank you 😊

Hadn't been here in a long time so decided to try it out. Me and my dad went and both had the Denbigh burger and a cider, total came up to just under £50 which I personally think is a bit over priced how ever I also understand that the world is getting more expensive every day. First time visiting the Denbigh Arms and must remember to come here again. Had a lovely starter of Pear and Celeriac Soup accompanied with some bread and butter which is always lovely to dunk in the soup. This was followed by Confit duck leg, truffle mash and some veg with a duck sauce which was absolutely delicious. The Duck was lovely and rich, the skin was nicely charred and the duck sauce was gorgeous. Truffle was good, you could taste the truffle and made a wonderful accompaniment to the duck. This was part of their Christmas menu, think traditional pub food is available. Service was good and efficient with plenty of time left between starter and main. Reasonably priced. Very happy.

The Denbigh Arms is the quintessential English pub located opposite the church in the pretty village of Monks Kirby. I have visited this pub twice recently, and been made very welcome on both occasions. It’s a real hidden gem! I enjoyed a meal at lunchtime with a friend couple of weeks ago, good value, wholesome food, served within comfortable surroundings, near cosy log burning fires. My walking group met/finished here this week, and enjoyed a couple of well kept cask ales afterwards (coffee for drivers). Tim Taylor, Mad Goose, UBU available! Nicky and her partner (the chef) have only taken over heer a few months, but offer a warm welcome to customers. We intend to return soon, hoping for better weather to enjoy the outdoor seating next time!

Recently taken under new management and the place has been transformed internally from quite dark and gloomy to fresh, light, and welcoming. There's a good selection of beers available from the bar, and food is served from the kitchen by an outstanding chef. Customers in the restaurant area can be overheard complimenting every dish they have tried here recently, which was reflected in the food we had during our visit here. Staff can't do enough for customers and will make it their utmost to accommodate requests wherever they can. Prices are great for the high quality and definitely worth every penny. There's outdoor seating with picnic benches and some under cover seating available. Bank holidays have also seen a children's bouncy castle put up so families can enjoy the outdoor space. Set facing an extremely old large church that is steeped in history going back to the 1800s, The Denbigh Arms can provide the perfect venue space for any services at the church. Theres is free parking at the rear. Some weekends have live music, and a karaoke night was recently trailed, which everyone there absolutely loved. If you're passing through, it's definitely worth a visit for a drink and some food. You might have to call through and book a table as it does get fully booked regularly. The onion bahji scotch egg is a game changer! Enjoy!

This is a pub we’ve lunched at many times in the past and our first time since the new owners took over. Whilst the food was good, I too found it overpriced, especially for the children’s meal. Two fish goujons, chips and peas….not much return for £7!! (Could have served up four goujons at least). Sweets starting at £7 😳, no thank you. The blonde behind the bar was far from customer-friendly. We won’t be returning, sadly. On to pastures new……

So visited for a Sunday dinner here and couple of drinks for family meet up. Let's start by saying that the best thing about this place was the guy serving the carvery! Food was good, though I was disappointed with the roasts and yorkies. Access to the table meant a walk back out and all the way round to back as doorways are narrow, couldn't get pushchair through The biggest joke was the selection of drinks. As a breastfeeding mother I asked what non alcoholic drinks they have (usually a small choice when out at other places). The reply I got was "we have fruitshoots". Now I absolutely do not expect to be offered a kids bottled drink because I'm not drinking alcohol at the moment! Train your young staff because this has annoyed me enough to stop me from coming back again and deter others!

This is the second time we've been here but first Sunday lunch. This is a proper "pub" that does food and has a very traditional, old-school feel which we like. The staff behind the bar work really hard and although you can see they are under huge pressure we were still dealt with promptly. We thought the carvery was brilliant value for the money. You could tell that all the veg had been prepared by hand rather than coming in vacumn-packed and just cooked. It was just like going from a family member's for your lunch and had that nostalgic taste/feeling. We like this place because it is real. My 9yr old son ate every single morsel of his roast and when kids eat it all thats a good sign.

We visited today as it’s our wedding anniversary. We got married at Draycote several years ago and thought it would be nice to revisit for afternoon tea to celebrate our anniversary. It was lovely being back there and it evoked happy memories. However, the service wasn’t good. The food itself was pretty good. We were the only ones in the restaurant yet not once did anyone come to ask if everything was ok or if we wanted anything. We had to go and find someone to ask for another drink. For our second cup of tea the milk provided had gone completely off. Leaving large bits of soured milk floating around in the cup. Mentioned this to the waitress and there barely an apology. Didn’t even offer to replace the drink. It was nice for us sentimentally to go back but I really wouldn’t recommend it for anyone else. I’d say go to one of the nicer places around here with a better ambience and better customer service.
