great village pub. friendly staff. great atmosphere. play poker here so get free food every time we play ( every Tuesday evening ) Food here is very good.

We've just been to a funeral wake at The Buck Inn. The landlord gave us a private area which was kind of him. The food put on was delicious, particularly the profiteroles. They catered very well for both meat eaters and vegetarians. They even provided oat milk which was appreciated. Staff were friendly, helpful and considerate.

Lovely pub, found on the off chance early dinner, food was lovely and hot quality ingredients. Couldn’t fault staff friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. If visiting Manchester we would definitely visit this pub again.

I am only guessing about food,as I didn't have any. But it looked nice and people who were eating. Were enjoying it by looks on there face. Was not there long as I was picking someone up.

Went to watch the football on a Sunday, what a great atmosphere. I ordered some food and had a problem with my order due to my own fault to be honest, I explained to the staff my error and was well accommodated and was sorted without a fuss. Great food, great staff, and great atmosphere, well recommended

Wow what can I say, the Sunday dinner was amazing, the staff so polite and helpful. We had our two young daughters with us, one had the Sunday dinner the other had nuggets, in her word mum these nuggets are better then McDonald’s, must be good as she is very fussy. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back, see you next Sunday if you fit us in xxx

Came in for Mothers Day… unfortunately it was a bit of a disaster! Our starters never arrived and then when our main courses were brought out they said they would bring them out… we asked them not to as our mains had already arrived. I ordered turkey roast and my husband had the burger as they had ran out of the beef roast already (it was 4.30pm). Burger was over cooked and dry, the top bun was burnt so they brought a replacement after asking. Turkey tasted like it had been reheated and the entire meal was somewhat congealed like it had been sat under the hot plate too long… the mash was like glue and inedible. The plate wasn’t even as described on the menu, I ended up sending it back and ordered another drink instead. My daughter had fish, chips and peas which was ok but the batter was soggy, again like it had been hanging around. The best but was when she ordered an ice cream with marshmallows and they brought just a bowl of marshmallows 😂. They did bring over a dessert as an apology and we didn’t pay for food that was sent back or not received but pretty disappointing all in all which was a shame. Might have helped if the bar staff/waitesss hadn’t had her air pods in for the entire fiasco…

The pub could do with a touch up here and there especially the gents toilets, that's not to say they were not clean. Nice pub good food, great service visited for an afternoon lunch. 4 diners

I booked on a Tuesday night for my birthday. The Buck Inn was very accommodating, food was great and the kids were looked after.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere and its lovely to see a pub so busy. Car park is pay and display but you get the free parking voucher from the bar. Well worth a visit. Food was good but we forgot to take photos. Recommend this pub :)

Sunday afternoon and my first visit. A little quite for such a large pub, but that was great as me and my partner just went for dinner out. Ordered the steak and didn't expect much. Honest review. The 🥩 was perfectly cooked and a complete surprise from a pub menu. Very pleased. This place is a little far for me to visit more regularly, but I was very impressed with the food

i had a very good bacon burger and fries, it want to go back definately. also the place looked very cool. 5 stars!!!!!

Lovely pub. Food well priced and nothing too much trouble. The chef even came out to discuss one of our party's food allergy. She ended up cooking her something not on the menu to suit her needs. Brilliant. Other places could learn a thing or two from this type of customer service!! See you again real soon.

Very disappointed to get a parking ticket today after my visit to the Buck. After speaking to them they advised I could only speak to Parking eye. I explained I had paid for a meal and drinks but they didn’t care. The meal was poor as well

Sasuages always black as coal, pies are terribly flakey. Waste of money.

We went to a 90th birthday party and its a great little pub with a mixture of local and visitors, don't pay in the carpark you can pick up a ticket at the bar

A great pub with good pub food and a great selection of drinks. Great staff and a nice atmosphere. Large beer garden and show lots of sports. What’s not to like! If you like an all day breakfast I would definitely recommend it here. Mixed grill is also amazing.

Food arrived an hour and 40 minutes after ordering. (Was told one hour) even though the pub was empty. The main courses arrived just before the starters, all of the food was overcooked and dry whilst also being cold. Very poor service.

Friendly free house in Ashton upon Mersey. Down to earth boozer. Regular selection of beers plus a guest cask and a couples of ciders on when I went. Serves your customary pub grub with bar and lounge. Shows sports and Dog friendly. Outside drinking area with some of it sheltered . Has a carpark. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. 🍺 🏏 ⚽️ 🍎 🍏

Good value meal for lunch traditional pub favourites of pies scampi and chicken. Chicken and bacon salad good low calorie option.

This pub is a home from home. I could walk in on my own or with my partner & children and the warm reception from the exceptional staff is what makes the place my absolute fav. Can’t fault it.

My son took me for mothers Day, and the food was lovely. Service was perfect. No complaints. Will definitely return.

My wife & I just had lunch here & although the food was delicious the portions were very small this would be understandable if we ordered from the £6+ lunch menu but we ordered from the main menu so higher price. My wife is only petite & even she left still feeling hungry shame as this has put us off from going back.

The Buck is our local in Ashton on Mersey, a cracking village pub with a good food, friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere which we regularly frequent…..would recommend

Fantastic roast beef dinner 🍽 😋

Very disappointed. Ate here regularly before the Pandemic but on today's experience this is likely to be my last. Took visitors for lunch...all day breakfasts OK. My gammon looked nothing like the photos.... given knife and then steak knife when I went to bar to say that I couldn't cut the gammon. Still incredibly tough and lots of fat and gristle....so much so left 90% of meal. Cost £10.99...not happy. Having spoken with staff who had given me a steak knife I was surprised that no one came to check meals OK. Got the impression that they were avoiding our table...Pity as local and convenient to pop in to eat but totally put off by today's experience

Behere a few time and food has always be fine but food was not very good could eat half of it, but will be giving it another try only because I've been before

Food and atmosphere poor, not a dining establishment. Best suited as a pub only! Has old men and dogs dotted around and more old world cup flags than Brinnington. Was a decent hour but nothing special.

Weird experience. Went in on a Sunday night to do the quiz and have a bit of a laugh. Got a round in and cracked on. Did pretty well. Which seemed to really annoy the locals. Came in second and won a little £5 tab which we didn't really want to use so we gave it to another team. Bloke chucked it on the floor and got really angry about us not buying enough drinks, clearly drunk and whatever else. We'd had a couple each but were driving (and breast feeding a baby when we got home) so hence just a couple. The guy and his mates ended up shouting across the place in rage. One lady who worked there was really nice to be fair but the other fella seemed to know the lads and was just laughing along with it. Obviously we felt quite intimidated and ended up leaving. Just a mad situation. I guess it's a local bar for local people. Don't bother.

We booked a table and was told someone was sat on our table by which the staff was very rude about. There was 6 of us in our booking and they placed us on a 4 man table and offered to pull up a chair. In the end we had to pull another table over to make room for everyone. We was made to feel we was in the wrong for wanting to sit together. - we should of left then.Ive never come across more unpleasant and rude staff working in a restaurant. Our meals all came out separately. My starter come out when my peers had already finished eating there’s. Within two mouthfuls my main course was with me. I ordered the Sunday dinner, whereby our stuffing was non extistent on my Sunday dinner, Yorkshire pudding was burnt and the vegatbles cold. We all ordered cauliflower cheese whereby it was hard, Cold and microwaved. The staff was extremely rushed and we was told to hurry up and order which is ridiculous considering we prebooked a table. If they don’t want guests booked in at 7pm on a Sunday for food we shouldn’t be able to make a booking online! When we asked for extra gravy the blonde short haired waitress was extremely rude about it was made a comment saying right that’s it now anything else. Extremely unprofessional.On top of this, we waited an extremely long time for pudding. We had to ask for our tables to be cleared then we got told by a young man who was a waiter the kitchen had closed and our pudding wasn’t coming. When we expressed we had ordered them the staff must of got together and got our puddings together. Our cheesecakes came out separately however by the time the sticky toffee pudding came we had finished eating. We asked for cream with our cheesecake as that is what its meant to come with. The waiter come back with squirty cream in a jug, one portion when there was three?The sticky toffee was inedible and the custard cold.The worst service and meal I’ve ever had. The blonde haired waitress with lip piercings and the mixed raced waitress behind the bar need some lessons on how to be polite to customers as there customer service skills are appalling and rude!!! Horrendous!
