Great service. The bar was absolutely heaving, but not only was I served in about 10 seconds, as the barmaid was getting the drinks? Two different barmaids also asked what I wanted. Efficient, friendly and an all round great experience.

Love this cosy old boozer which is beautiful inside. Just across from Shudehill bus station and The Arndale.

Only called I foe one drink after a show, I've been in before but not for many years. Place looks great and the atmosphere seemed good, no hassle at all. Toilets:- wish I'd worn my Gortex Trainers, bit of a mess but it was after 11pm bur it's also a City Centre and may have a late license, really don't k it but looks as though the Toilets aren't checked regularly unless they were due to close I'm rhe next hour, if so I can completely understand why they hadn't been cleaned as this would be done after closing, a quick mop then full clean before next opening.

Only had a couple of pints of beer. Lovely. Staff hugely friendly. A great spot for a quick pint and a chat plus..

Quality pints and quality service. Good place to watch the football as well.

Proper Holt Brewery pub with a good range of real ales, on draft and in bottles. Packed on a Friday afternoon, mainly with groups of guys, and a good atmosphere. Seating options are a little bizarre in parts of the pub, but it’s bigger than it first appears.

Probably the most decent pint I had all night in Manchester. I like free houses with a much better choice.

Great traditional Manchester pub with a good selection of ale, my husband says the Holts's bitter is particularly good. Love the church style seats opposite the bar, they're perfect for people watching. Ladies toilets were spotless.

An excellent place to stay in central Manchester, Northern Quarter, offering value for money, a great bar and outstanding service. Highly recommend.

Nice pleasant stay my room was clean and tidy. Hotel is secure. Unfortunately as I was tired I didn’t get a chance to sample the beers but they looked good and the check in service was good. Surrounding area is lively but not too loud.

Proper boozer, not a hotel from what I saw full of couples of a certain age, oh yes my age tonight. Massive choice of beer, not a Holts', we all had something different and everyone happy. My partner couldn't get an espresso so had a Trailblazer stout and she wasn't disappointed. Next time I want to sit in the beer pews and women's toilets have double cubicles. Music was a bit too 90s brit pop, the place didn't need music.

First time I've been here. Really enjoyed it, very busy good beer . If I'm that way again will definitely visit

A traditional British pub in Manchester's northern quarter. The decor in old glazed tiles and gets a selection of tourists and locals in. A good selection of drinks on offer, something to suit all tastes.

Lovely little inn where we stayed in the hotel attached upstairs, room was small but clean and tidy and had all of the essentials with a separate entrance from the bar. Staff were very welcoming and helpful with any questions we had and the location is great to reach the city centre and transport links. Bar and pub had a great atmosphere too and reasonably priced.

Great pub with full range of Joseph Holt ales. The IPA was 👌🏼

To be honest I had virtually given up on Joseph Holt's bitter as being a pale shadow of it's old self but this was the best point I've had in ages. Typical lively friendly Manchester boozer.

REVIEW OF THE HOTEL: The fire alarm went off at 5am- nobody came or was reachable by the phone! We had to call the fire department by our selves, when the drunk landlady came (after the fire fighters woke her up cause the fire alarm did not do the job) she was rude and yelled at one of the guests. Then the fire alarm went off again at 8:20,8,30, and 9. I barely slept. Plus don’t forget it’s above a pub so it’s extremely noisy and it smells like piss downstairs!!!! Of course no refund was offered! When we asked we were asked if we would rather go somewhere else (at 5:45 am after freezing outside!!) And forget about early check in!!!! No one is there cz it is a PUB!!

Great traditional façade of glazed tiles, interior is less authentic but still nice. Sadly it's a Holt's pub so nothing worth venturing in for.

Well stocked friendly mid town pub.

I didn't eat here but otherwise this is one of the best pubs in Manchester City Centre. Amongst all the grey misery outside and run down businesses and store fronts and litter, this is a gem and when you step indoors it's like a whole other world. Great beers and ales, cool seating and plenty of it and everyone is friendly, even the patrons.

I'd imagine the old cook Geordie might be gone but he treated the Illinois high school Select side to wonderful roast dinners upstairs the couple of times we booked. Excellent location and near youth hostels.

Lovely pub to visit and have a pint or any beer that you're searching for. As a B&B, it was a fantastic experience to live the genuine Manchester. Enjoyed so much the atmosphere once Man United played Champions League, unforgettable.

Stayed at the hotel above this place, honestly it was shocking. We were left waiting ages to check in (very bizarre that we had to wait at the bar in a full pub to do this) ignored multiple times by the bartender. Finally he told us that someone else would come to sort it, this was about another 10 minutes. The guy who checked us in was nice enough, but we were already stressed and tired at this point. The room was very basic considering the price per night, and there is very loud traffic from below at all times. Would not recommend.

Looked dubious from outside but really old and quirky inside. Very friendly & helpful staff. We asked about food & they said we could get a takeaway & eat it in the pub - 9 of us got a kebab from the Turkish takeaway 2 doors down & ate it in the pub. Reasonably priced drinks. £15 for a bottle of decent house white - so would go back x

Was introduced by a friend, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Went back with my husband for one of the Northern Soul Wednesday's. Took another friend on a Saturday afternoon, she loved it too. Hoping to go to one of the Northern Soul Sundays.

I love these old Manchester pubs with the tiles on the outer walls, Don't be fooled by the outside, it only looks a small pub but there's plenty of space inside over 2 floors AND THERES A BEER GARDEN UPSTAIRS. A good Holts' pub surving the regular beers Crystal, Diamind and also Bootleg IPA, Trailblaser Stout and a Citrus Holts lagar as well. The staff were happy for me to try them and let me have a look around this great pub. Also it's just opposite the Hanging Ditch Metro stop so not far to walk.

Fab old fashioned pub we found on our last day popped in for one but stayed for a few hours. Beer was excellent, lovely old quaint pub great atmosphere and friendly people. A traditional old pub done up sympathetically in keeping with it's style and age. Much nicer inside that it looks from the outside. Larger than you initially think as they've knocked through to next door. I particularly like the pew seating opposite the bar and the story in the ladies loo telling you that it once was a barbers and that you're stood on the original floor. Excellent friendly service but it was quiet.

Absolutely disgrace, I'm a disabled person who was refused a pint because the person in charge decided I had to much to drink. I told her I had 4 pints all day but was refused being served a pint of bitter. I was told that I stumbled into the pub, this being the reason for not being served by. I then pointed out to the lady in charge of the bar that my right leg was 2" sorter than my left leg and that I had a problem walking. I was told because I was disabled that if iwas served with an pint and fell the pub would be responsible. So it seems to me that if you are disabled you are still being victimised. After leaving the Turks had I had 3 pints of Blonde bitter. When ordering the 3rd pint I asked the gent serving me if I was drunk. He told me that he knew that I had a few pints but no were near drunk.

Cosy historical pub serving superbly kept Joseph Holt beers. Fascinating multi roomed interior including a roof terrace. Warm and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Nice quirky pub with unique seating (not going to give the game away go have a look). Nice selection of beers.

Lovely place to have a pint or few. Minus they do not serve food, but are OK if you bring your own takeaway from place around. Their own brewery beers were delicious.. definitely will visit if need wait for bus again next time
