The Buck Inn in Scarborough

Really enjoyable couple of hours spent having drinks and laughs with family.

Very quiet and unhelpful staff not willing to help with anything serving prime lagers in glasses making drink flat and selling out of date crisps

Only had drinks 🍻in the buck inn, sky sports on decent pint of morreti, then a toilet break and all i can say as wow the smell of ammonia was over powering and cubicles were a mess, one of the worst I've been too 😷👎

Cheap place to drink with a great atmosphere, a local pub but we were welcomed. Was actually a nice pint and if you get a window seat is great to people watch in Whitby. Will definitely be back

We didn't have food here, Don,t think they do it, good atmosphere karaoke on. Mixture of holiday makers and locals all enjoying them selves, better than running about shooting each other like those idiots in the Middle Eastern conflict.

Great atmosphere, lovely drag dj creating fun memories ❤️ Group of friends (12)went to the goth weekend April 25-28. Dressed up had fun and we were told to go to the whitby way.. Went so disappointed, smal, smell of piss awful music.... Which complete opposite the Buck Inn. Plenty of space to dance, loved the karaoke, dj was fantastic and so funny, The staff was accommodating, we had brilliant time which want to repeat. 🔂♥️👌 Thanl you so much. We will be back xx

Such a shame...... This pub was always a place our family would highly recommend. After many years supporting local businesses, The Buck Inn now has one awful femal member of bar staff with long ginger coloured hair that really doesn't understand hospitality. She was more interested in her phone than the customers. My Dad tried to gain her attention to be greeted with fowl langage and "I will get you bared from every pub in Whitby!! Proper Peggy Mitchell style 🤣 I do hope she moves on soon......maybe to the East End.....dum dum du du du dum dum.

Great for sports with loads of Tvs showing up to 3 different sporting events... With dart board and pool table. Unfortunately rude staff (one female in particular) who prioritise their mobile phones over serving customers

AVOID This place!! The woman behind the bar was the rudest person in Whitby!! Her attitude was discusting to customers in the pub and she even said to some customers “oh what you gonna do put a bad review on? Because me and my manager will laugh at it, you silly cow” I could not believe the customer service and how she was treating customers. This has not put me off Whitby but I will never enter this place again!

Make sure you avoid this pub!! The assistant manager is rude and her customer service is terrible. Not worth the money or time.

Assistant manger has to be the worst person for customer service she did not help what so ever. Very chewy and I feel for who ever else she services terrible and I will never go in this pub again.

Stayed here last two nights in room 3..the room is like an oven..turned rads off but bathroom underfloor heating / heater in cupboard? on all the time. Opened windows but as it's raining you hear a constant drip drip drip on a polycarbonate roof right outside window. The room itself is clean and tidy .I'd stay again but just not in room 3. Friendly welcome and good pint of John Smiths. Thanks Whitby .

Embarrassment of a pub, bar staff wanted aggravation from a 60+ group, we’ll never go in there again, absolutely never enter that place again. Rude bar staff and rude management. Security seemed embarrassed over the none issue. There are over 40 pubs in Whitby, maybe avoid this one

I had the misfortune of picking up some dog poop and the bag split, I asked the staff if I could just wash my hand in their toilet and they refused, saying toilets were for customers only. I tried to explain but would not allow me to wash my hands.

Nice little pub, good beer, not too expensive, cracking view out of the window over the harbour towards St. Mary's Church! It's great to sit by the window and just watch the world go by with a pint.

Extremely arrogant security. Swearing at you to get out at end of night is very unprofessional. A good night was ruined. These were women too...not an attractive way to behave to customers.

Karaoke night, great fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Land lady was quite rude towards my dad, putting a bit of a downer note on an otherwise nice weekend.

Came in to watch the rugby ask several times to put the game on was told several times didn't have time to sort it as had problems with the toilets and customers then police came in to the place didn't seem a pleasant place to be in I've been coming to whitby for 30 years and this place has spoilt it.

Not allowed to play pool while karaoke going on!!! Seriously!

Racist pub. Went to Whitby last weekend with all my family for my father in laws 78th birthday, we are all white apart from my nephew who is black. When approaching the Buck Inn the bouncer on the door refused to let my black nephew in claiming he had “sports shorts” on. We were all dressed smartly & these shorts were just smart shorts with no stripes on or anything. Couldn't have been a clearer act of racism. It’s 2023 in case anyone connected with this place reads this. Pathetic & obviously won’t be recommending to anyone.

I've given it 4 stars fir the stunning views. They fold the front window back in nice weather along with the seating you can sit facing looking out at the harbour. Lovely views. Not a wide choice of mixers or spirits but they do a good pint of John smiths

Had drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere.

It's an okay place. Staff were friendly, prompt and courteous. But it did feel like you're in the local social club. No disrespect, but from an outsider's point of view, you can feel awkward. Toilets need sorting asap.

Great pub on the side of the harbour. Good array of beers on offer, tv screens for those who like to watch football. It is a lot bigger inside too than it looks from the outside. Also I presume it is dog friendly due to a couple of people with accompanying dogs. People behind the bar were very pleasant. Well worth a visit 👍

Friendly staff, very well priced beer, plenty of TV screens with Sky Sports, so you can watch wherever you stand. Lovely atmosphere. Only let down was the Gents toilets. Otherwise very good.

Friendly bar staff who were more than happy to share their local knowledge with us! Screens everywhere if you want to catch any sport!

Came to whitby for a couple day's with my missus,found The Buck Inn and made it our local for the couple of days we we're away. The bar staff are worth there weight in Gold. We even won a free meat raffel worth £25.00 from the local butchers. Thanks again, and we will be coming again. Jon & MJ

Cracking pub. Can be busy at times but so van any pub in the town. Decent prices and a pub to visit of you want yo watch the football. Dart board in the back room.

Good food and excellent service

Always worth a visit, particularly when the windows are open to what is a great view. Only negative is the gents' loo which on this visit ponged quite a bit. Decent pint of Landlord.
