The Bubble Inn in South Derbyshire

Me and my family had visited this establishment for Sunday Lunch as we were passing through the area. It wasn’t clear on their website if they even served Sunday Lunch but we thought we would give it a shot. For a Sunday it was pretty quiet, a couple of locals in the beer garden and one or two having some food inside. The food was OK, noting too spectacular, they seemed to take pride with there ingredients but I was adamant majority of the food was cooked from frozen. The wait for the food was quite long as mentioned previously they wasn’t particularly busy and everyone else had their food prior to us sitting down.

We visited this lovely pub on a sunday after doing a falconery experience in the area, food was amazing, service spot on an we will definitely visit again as only half hour away. Thanks

I’ve been twice now to try the flatbreads and it was gorgeous ! The portions are extremely generous and the meat (the first time) and halloumi (second time) was really tasty. Service could be improved but overall very satisfactory food quality vs price.

Went for a family meal and was pretty underwhelmed for the price. It's a tired old pub they've tried to force into the format of the other Bubble gastropub. Unfortunately it doesn't have that same open space to support it as well though. The tiny bar in the middle was overwhelmed and had empty glasses stacked up all around it. Food was overpriced for what it was and very average. Staff themselves were lovely though and did their best (even if they served us all with desserts but no spoons until we asked). I'd come back again but wasn't blown away.

My husband and I decided to try this place midweek, as we’re local. Nice large outdoor area with areas both covered and uncovered if you’re a smoker or just want to sit outside. The Landlord wasn’t very welcoming, not unpleasant or rude in any way but not the warm welcome you usually get in a country pub like this one. Food we had was nice, but the service just let it down. We had to ask for more drinks having been sat with empty glasses for a while. No checkback made on the food, we were only asked if all was ok at the point we came to pay. Shame as I had looked forward to trying the place. The landlord genuinely seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Absolutely no issue with the food at all.

Bottomless Birthday Brunch . Great attentive staff. Lovely people. Will return. Very happy to recommend. Fantastic food. Have a visit to the place. You won't be disappointed.

We went for a Friday afternoon bottomless brunch and it was incredible ! Service was amazing, good variety of options on the brunch menu and a huge range of bottomless cocktails for a small upgrade price ! Really great, we will be back!! The landlady was lovely !

South Derbyshire is a little bit lacking in decent pub grub, in my experience. The Jinnie in Rolleston used to be my favourite but I don’t think it’s as good as it used to be. This is a belter. Great idea having a largely Greek-themed menu. I must try the Bubble at Stenson, haven’t been since that changed to the same as this. I had the Hercules - mixed kebabs, fries, dips and salad, on pitta bread, in a box. What could be simpler? Fabulous, Would have liked to have seen a few other Greek options like Kleftiko or Stifado but a minor complaint. Snow Dome frozen dessert similarly excellent. The others loved theirs too and the other couple are regulars. Decent IPA. I will definitely be back again.

Not the best meal/ rapport- even with giving it another chance.. Quite clearly, you are there as a punter! - no interaction with mgmt whatsoever.. (unless a regular)!!! even though, only two of us in restaurant at 8.35pm 2 drinks ordered - 1 was wrong 🙈 Of our two meals - - Chicken curry - not what I expected & - - Steak - barely warm in middle. Server (bless him) nothing to do and was hovering around our table, too much... intimidating (to put it nicely).... Feedback is, as I experienced. 29.12.23

Went with a group of friends for Sunday lunch. Service very slow and food very average. Beef and lamb chop very overdone. Veg were ok but mash was either pre done or had been sat for a while as tasted very gloopy. Had to ask for plates to be cleared and again for pudding menus. Waited too long to be asked for our pudding order so left and went elsewhere for those. Nice pub but wouldn’t return for Sunday lunch.

Wow what a wonderful lunch! Visited on Saturday with my friends who had come over to stay, they were so impressed and said I had made a perfect choice of restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed, fish, venison pie and my favourite marinated chicken souvlaki, all cooked to perfection. Lovely friendly staff, great food and drinks what more can you ask for! 100% recommend.

Just got back from a lovely meal with my husband, daughter and dad. It’s not the first time we’ve visited here as the food is always delicious, but I felt I had to write a review today (which I never do) as the kindness and customer service was something else. Our little girl is autistic and sensitive to noise which can sometimes fill us with dread when going out for meals as we never know how it’s going to go. When we entered the pub our daughter immediately covered her ears and was starting to get a little distressed. Without asking for anything, a lovely lady who I can only presume is the landlady must have picked up on this and came straight over with colouring pens and a bowl of chips and tomato sauce. For anyone one who has young children will understand how much this was appreciated as it meant our little one was occupied which gave us the chance to order our food and it took away the stress I was starting to feel once entering. So I just want to say thank you! Not only for being so kind and considerate but also for the amazing food and a lovely Sunday afternoon experience. We will most definitely be returning.

17 of us booked in after an afternoon of coronation celebrations. Although busy we were all looked after really well. Food was great and considering how many of us there were, everyone got theirs on time. Poor waiters had their work cut out keeping us fuelled with rounds and rounds of drinks orders. A great night!!!

We visited on a Wednesday for the kebab night. A party of 4 of us all ordered the Mad Greek meal which had a supplement of £3 for each meal. It wasn't until we got back home and were chatting about the meal that we all realised none of us had the gyros pork on our meals. We didn't want to complain as this was a treat off our Daughter. I did message the pub twice but got an automated response . Would not recommend this place and would not go again as I feel ripped off.

fantastic food, Greek inspired but very varied menu, friendly service, highly recommended. Dog friendly too, so we dont have to leave the pooch home (he gets treatos there too!)

Booked our table online, 5 minutes before arrival. Pub was clean and nicely decorated with a beautiful little dog on hand to welcome us! We were served quickly and efficiently. All staff were lovely and friendly. Meals came promptly and tasted great. Absolutely no complaints and would definitely recommend. Thank you Sally and Martin.

Great value kebab night.. we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will return to try the different varieties- lots to choose.

Upon arriving we were seated immediately which was a fantastic start. Unfortunately throughout the evening things declined somewhat. Drinks orders were wrong, one drinks order was forgotten about, cream on two desserts was sour. We struggled to make conversation as the surroundings were extremely noisy. Waiting on staff we’re not familiar with the menu and could not answer questions. Not what we were hoping for. The two desserts were removed from the bill after we asked, this should have been offered.
