The Britannia Inn in Oxford

First time back since the refurbishment, All I can say is “I Love It” stopped by with my uncle Frank for a couple Guinness. We ended up having our favourite meal at the brit, Fish and chips! Hayley and Faye if I recall well, made my uncle and his mates feel very welcomed. Will be back for Jim’s birthday.

Wonderful refurbishment! Faye and staff excellent! Food outstanding -great atmosphere.The go-to place in Headington -10 out of 10.

Thi,s pub shouldn't offer cocktails. It isn't up to it. My sister and I ordered a Moquito each as a treat to start off a very special weekend. They were disgusting. No fresh ingredients. They did swap them for 2 other cocktails which I watched them make out of really cheap ingredients. They were awful too. They should leave cocktails to classier places that use quality ingredients and train the staff to make them.

We have been coming for about 4 weeks now because we liked the pub and food. Then we came in today and brought more family with us. There was a table big enough for 6 of us, but there was a reserved notice on the table. The time had gone past 30 minutes, and it was allowed to be late for the table from when the table was reserved for, so we sat there. Whilst we were at the bar ordering our food and drink, I was told that my family members were told to "get off the table." The people had turned up. Rather than put the other people on another table that had turned up much later than the time reserved, my family had been moved to a smaller crampt table. When I spoke to the staff they said, "Oh they phoned up and they said they would be late and we have only just picked that up" OK so we moved and waited for our food that came out in dribs and drabs. The stake we ordered finally came out and was burnt. It was meant to be Medium. So we asked for it to be done again, and the staff just couldn't be bothered. The waiter was so moody and took the stake and said he would get it replaced. The replacement took over 30 minutes, and when it came out, it was also burnt and not medium. In the end, the meal was not good and spoilt by the lack of good customer service. We won't be back.

At the Britannia inn I had a great experience from dining in to having a few drinks , the service was really good from those who work there from the brilliant bar staff to the amazing tasteful chefs! Overall good experience would definitely recommend & go back

This place is a really friendly and key pub for the locals. The food menu has options for incredible value. Unfortunately I can never get served. I went before Xmas paid for all courses but was then told I would need to wait an hour for desert. I explained my mother has dementia and waiting is not possible asked for money back, but the wait took so long I left. I went back to give it another chance but couldn't get served. Two staff only. The stress when you are with someone you can't leave whilst you stand at the bar and that you want to spend time with is vast. No apology or real understanding. This is a pub that my mother feels comfortable in and I admire on many levels. But if I can't rely on being served in a timely manner with a degree of care then it makes it stressful and difficult rather than enjoyable.

good price, large portion, but it's always super slow. twice we had to wait for more than two hours for our food. and once the food served was wrong.

Staff seemed friendly but the wait for food was way too long. Went somewhere else instead.. The overall appearance wasn't bad but if you have to wait an hour for food it's not much of a pub!

Como un estudiante, éste es siempre el lugar al que ir para una cena informal con amigos. La comida es un precio estupendo y siempre sabrosa, muy buena selección de bebidas, y para los residentes de Headington, El Brit es una buena elección de viajar a la ciudad para que 'comida cucharas. El personal es siempre encantador, incluso cuando el lugar está abarrotado. Y no te olvides de noches de concurso los jueves y domingos.

Visitamos el Britannia en domingo por la 3ª vez y de nuevo no me decepcionó. Todo nuestro grupo tenía las los asados del domingo con diferentes carnes y lo disfrutamos a tope!

We found the Brittania pub after eating sub standard food in our hotel without the brittania I would of not eaten for two weeks in Egypt. Great staff always friendly and helpful with loveley food.

Called in here with a friend for lunch recently. Friendly service and food very tasty. Beer battered whiting with chips and peas, followed by mini creme brulee and coffee for £6.95! Amazing value and quick service. We will definitely return when next in the area.

Habiendo vivido en Headington, éramos conscientes de los británicos, pero desde nuestra última visita ha sido tomada por Ember Inns. Los alrededores son muy agradable cuando entras, y tienen exteriores interiores, así como las mesas para sentarse. Como con todo Ember Inns, tienen una buena selección de Cask ales que tendrían que satisfacer cualquier CAMRA esperábamos impacientes geek! Así que, después de ordenar un melancólico Bar y un DO nos sentamos a la orden. Tienen una buena selección de comida, con la hora del almuerzo y de la cena especiales que ofrece muy buena relación calidad-precio. Pedimos pollo y jamón, huevos y patatas, junto con nachos de empezar y Choc brownie para terminar. La comida es excelente, el servicio podría haber sido un poco mejor, y que es la única crítica real del lugar ... toda la comida y dos bebidas llegaron a 17 libras, la cual yo creo que era muy buena relación calidad-precio ... recomendaría este pub a todos visitar Oxford, y puedes salir y ver los tiburones en el tejado!

Went here with a very large party if us! Large pub with lots of seating Food took about an hour but was worth the wait! Large portions, good prices, delicious freshly cooked homemade food.

Un amigo y yo decidimos optar por la parrillada mixta ayer y no nos decepcionó. Había un montón de plazas, así que elegimos para sentarse en el cómodo sofá.

We have been using this pub over the years, this was our worst visit, popped in to mull over grand national horses and for a drink and snack, we went to bar in lo lower level and after waiting around 10 mins, we were told only that service was from top bar due to staff training, ( which I accept as a good reason), but the customer before us was served from here!!!!!, we had a bottle of wine which was bearly cold, and the nachos which seemed to be missing the melted cheese, really not that impressed, would put me off going again,

Llegamos como un partido de fútbol del día y a las páginas web que ya echado un vistazo por dónde comer así que llegamos. Un encantador pub decorado con una gran variedad de cervezas que satisfechos nuestro grupo. Probamos el traslado local, que fue derramado perfectamente. Nos sentamos y echado un vistazo al menú. Apeló Mucho ya que tenía una buena variedad. Fui por el cordero, que se sirve con puré, las coles rizadas y judías verdes, que estaba muy bien cocinados. La salsa era rico y funcionaba a la perfección con el cordero y verduras. Sin duda lo recomiendo

La comida es a un precio razonable pero por desgracia es muy impredecible con la comida. He tenido una estupenda comida pero también algunos muy terribles. Como muchos pubs de cadena que no consigues la "familia" y "representante" con el lugar, pero eso también significa que hay garantía de la calidad de la comida que ofrecen. Hay un montón de mesas y una zona de jardín que es ideal, en el verano. También hay un aparcamiento que es muy práctico.

The restaurant style is not bad specially the outdoor area, the food is quite good, i wouldn't recommend it because of the mediocre service and the poor personal except the bar tenders they are kind, so first we sat and was about to order 5min later a guy said this area is booked, so looked around the restaurant to find another place nobody assist us then we ordered food from the bar almost an hour before we got served by the same very rude waitor he should b in his 40s, he dont ask who order what but ask quickly who is and not listen to us and just leave the plate in wherever in the table, a friend asked for mayo he said "you can walk get it for your self jesus"

Muy buena comida con una buena variedad a un precio razonable, a aprox. 10 libras por dos platos, además de un menú de 3 platos limitado por £8,95 . Ambiente agradable, además de un aparcamiento de coches con cargos que son reembolsables de la compra de una comida, lo que le da un poco de tiempo para mirar en las tiendas locales. No tengo ninguna queja, me alojaría aquí de nuevo.

The menu is very varied - something to suit everyone - the service is friendly and the choice of ales is excellent too. Tasty food served in comfortable, friendly surroundings.

I have been here for food 3 times, it just gets better and better, lovely food, good price, friendly staff, and the prosseco is a bargain!

I like the Brittania because it has a car park and the food is reasonable, staff friendly. It's also very child friendly.

Mi marido y yo visitamos este pub con nuestra hija adulta alrededor de las 4 pm en días laborables. La sala de estar es muy confortable y hay un montón de cosas. El personal era muy amable.

We had late evening dinner in this place.Nice ambiance ,friendly staff.We ordered evening menu.One of the dishes was Gammon, the other half roasted chicken.Ham was very salty and chicken was dry.The rest of dinner was satisfactory.

Decided to take my sister for a meal somewhere local to her, decided on here, so glad we did! Lovely pub, relaxing atmosphere and polite efficient staff, food was amazing!! Highly recommend the fish pie. Will be eating here on every visit to Oxford

También Esta Ember Inn continúa mejorando bajo el actual director que ha convertido alrededor. Buena relación calidad-precio almuerzo de dos platos de diciembre por menos de £10. Como un grupo de mujeres que el almuerzo nos gusta - el espacio, buena comida, no hay ruidosos estudiantes, no ruidosa música ambiental, personal servicial, precios justos. tienen chimenea.

Gracias a la Britannia que ayudó a que mi cumpleaños reunión fácil aventurarse. Estuvimos jugando a juegos en Headington y les dije antes que estábamos usando el Brit como base. Nos dieron una gran zona entera, y no le importó trayendo un montón de juegos para jugar. En general, el servicio era muy bueno y oportuno. Volveremos!

Teniendo en cuenta que el menú es tan barato £8.50 por dos platos o £10,50 por 3 platos realmente esperaba el tipo de comida que te dan en una Hungry horse o para ser bastante normalito y típica comida barata de degustación. Nos detuvimos aquí para algo rápido y fácil, no hay comida de alboroto y el lugar lo trajeron, el servicio era bueno y una buena relación calidad-precio. Muy recomendable si te apetece comer algo rápido, fácil y sin problemas

Went with my partner and daughter, a discerning student, for lunch. Really enjoyed the grub and the service was excellent! Came away thinking that this was a place I would happily return to! Well done!

Just popped in for lunch and the food and service were great. The pub is very clean and well decorated. The staff were very pleasant as was the atmosphere, I will definitely return.

The pub has been redone, and it's very comfortable and attractive. The beer is great. Nice garden, reasonable food. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient location.

Visitamos el Britannia para mis padres 50 aniversario de boda ya tenían su boda allí hace 50 años hoy en día.

Nous sommes allés dans ce pub sur recommandations de notre hôtesse. Nous avons été très déçus. Pas le bon soir visiblement. ..

Llegamos un sábado por la noche a 5,45 h. Lugar no particularmente ocupado. Encontramos una buena mesa para la noche cerca de la zona baja del bar, pedidos específicos, se sirve comida bastante rápidamente y muy sabroso.

Brittania har en mysig gård att sitta på och inomhus är det en klassisk, stor pub med mycket bra mat och trevlig personal.

This isn't a gourmet pub but it doesn't charge gourmet prices. I have been numerous times and always had enjoyable meals at a reasonable value with quick and friendly service. What more do you want to a quick and cheap bite to eat?

He estado en el Britannia antes de esta visita y han pensado en la comida decente comparado con los otros pubs en headington, pero lo que hizo que esta visita especial era el servicio fabuloso por Dennis. Totalmente hecha para las patatas estar un poco cruda, que mi novio con sus pescados y la mala presentación de la creme brûlée. Así que gracias Dennis para hacer que nuestra visita a Britannia esta vez vale la pena, volveremos :)

Estuvimos tentados a este pub estupendo en el soleado jardín de cerveza y las numerosas personas ya allí. Aunque parte de una cadena, Ember Inns, mi marido estaba por encima de la luna hasta encontrar, estaban sirviendo 3 huéspedes regulares y 4 cervezas y en otra 2 o 3 percheros y listo para ir pronto. Mimado por elección!

Conocimos a unos amigos después de trabajar aquí el miércoles por la noche. El pub es exactamente lo que dice. Me servían un chili perfectamente decente seguido de un muy buen brownie de chocolate. Mis amigos estaban muy contentos con sus opciones también. En general, es una buena elección para una semana encarecerán ponerse al día con los amigos. Volveremos de nuevo, excelente relación calidad-precio!.

Waiters are friendly and accomodating. Food very good more of a Gastro Pub my lamb was cooked just as I asked (rare). Highly recomended

Yo estaba en un B & B a corta distancia a pie del Brittania, solo como mi marido estaba sometidos a cirugía en el John Radcliffe. Mi hijo y yo habíamos intentado el Brittania y nos pareció que estaba limpio, acogedor, y la comida era muy buena y a un precio razonable.

Ha pasado un tiempo desde que he disfrutado una deliciosa variedad en una parrilla mixta y cocinado a la perfección. con sólo las mejores patatas! Era bastante tarde en el día, pero todavía ocupado con acogedor y atento personal. El único inconveniente era pagar para aparcar en el aparcamiento.

Food was lovely and the service was very quick. The manager seemed quite annoyed that we had changed seats and made some comment under his breath. Happy with the service of the young girl who served us.

Fuimos aquí antes de salir para ir a casa y tenía algunas comidas fantásticas junto con fantásticas bebidas. Era un domingo y tenían un menú completo así como almuerzo de domingo. Si vas en coche, tienes que pagar y expuestos en el parque de coche, pero podrá obtener su dinero de vuelta una vez que presenta la persona de bar su billete. También hay una entrada para minusválidos y permiten perros. No hay paradas de autobús cerca de aquí, así que necesitarás un coche o puede caminar aunque está bastante lejos. Tienen dos jardines y bancos de cerveza en el sol de sombra. El pub es también enorme dentro.

Sea cual sea el momento del día, siempre hay algo fuera de las existencias y sobre la última 5 visitas la comida ha ido cuesta abajo en calidad y a menudo no llega con todo lo descrito en el menú. El Brittania es mucho más agradable dentro de las promesas externas. tiene un ambiente limpio luminoso y alegre y el menú ofrece una buena variedad de platos a un precio razonable con pocos " ofrece especial. Nos pasó a visitar en una "noche de carne", por lo que la carne incluida una bebida gratis. Ambos disfrutamos nuestra comida y no dudaría en volver.
