It's right on the river walk. So very picturesque. The room, need, towels very polish. Towel heater was a special touch! Met some wonderful people, great breakfast and dinner was fab.! The people working there are the best made our stay very comfortable and we can't wait to go back!

Lovely location for a meal out, and atmosphere was nice, though the lights were being adjusted a lot over the evening. Food was tasty and staff were friendly and attentive. Music was a bit loud to really hold a conversation across the table

Lovely food in a quaint environment. A little pricey but if the quality holds up there shouldn't be any complaints. I'm not a fan of service charges on bills, and you get one here. I'd rather tip my waiting staff.

We didn't stay here, just dined and will certainly return. Right beside the canal so you can watch boats and the Swan family who live nearby. Service was friendly and quick, food delicious. We lingered longer to enjoy tea outside. PS - order the thick cut chips, they are the best

Fantastic hotel. Lovely bed linens and towels, comfortable rooms and great service. No problems with accommodating my fragrance allergy (extra thanks for that). Highly recommend! Located along a canal with paved pathway that goes for miles. Wish we had booked a longer stay, as this would be a great base for venturing into Edinburgh.

Really disappointed. We’ve been here many times over the years but something has changed. Definitely a lack of waiting staff. It took ages for drinks to come, food, plates cleared. The food was ok but my Sunday roast was at best warm, not hot. It’s a lovely location & we were thinking about booking the New Year dinner this year but I doubt we will now

Restaurant only review. Not a great experience and was highly disappointed. Over the years we have visited the Bridge Inn as a collective as we work at a nearby hotel and have always dined on a Sunday as the Roasts are great. This time we arrived with the same intentions for booking and had a reservation for 5.30pm, and upon arriving were told there are no roasts left! The restaurant was busy but still some tables available, disappointing that coming into dinner service there’s not a roast. We decided to still stay but order something else from the menu and we each ordered a burger. Our waitress was lovely and polite, we received our burgers and when I received mine it was simply a deep fried chicken fillet in between a dry bun no garnish, sauce nothing, and it took two more attempts embarrassingly for this to go back to the kitchen for me to get the proper order?! God knows what was going on with the kitchen.. 2nd time I got my meal the garnish came in a ramekin on the side (still no sauce) so sent it back again, why is it on the side for me to make? 3rd time it came back with garnish and tiny amount of sauce on the burger which you wouldn’t know it was even there. My friends decided to have desserts and after this I don’t think we were acknowledged for atleast 45 minutes before getting the bill, despite there being less tables than when we arrived. Over all poor experience this time which was really disappointing, not sure what has changed but has certainly moved down in rank compared to previous visits here over the last 2-3 years

We arrived a little late but had called ahead. We were seated by the door near the toilets and provided with menus. The tap water arrived in a Bridge Inn sparkling water bottle, a nice touch. I ordered the scallops with black pudding, it was a little short on the black pudding, but very tasty. The risotto was a deep green colour and tasted incredible with a good amount of shaved Parmesan on top. I had never had the layered apple with raspberries and raspberry sorbet. Finished off with a flat white. Advisable to book ahead a few days especially during the summer. Nice place to eat and be

My husband and I were at The Bridge Inn yesterday, wanting to grab a coffee after a long walk. It’s nice to see how years go by but certain things remain the same, like the poor customer service offered at TBI. Because, yes, similar episodes happened in the past, but I never left a review. So, we walk in and, okay, it was Easter so they were busier than usual. It was 2pm. We sit and my husband goes up to the bar to place our order: a pint for him and a simple black coffee for me, for which he gets charged immediately (so upfront) £3.40. 10, 15, 20 minutes pass and as he finished the pint I’m still waiting for my simple black coffee. As they were busy, we thought maybe the order got lost, so he goes back to the bar where he asks if the coffee is on its way. One of the ladies at the bar responds to him quite abruptly/annoyed saying “we haven’t forgotten, we’re busy”. In the meantime, they could see me as I was sitting right in front of them, clearly not pleased as now it was 25 minutes for a black coffee, but no eye contact or nothing. It’s now 2.30pm, I’d suggest we get our money back and leave, which we did. When he asked for a refund, the same lady responds with the same terrible attitude “we can go make it [the coffee] now”. Excuse me, what? What kind of customer service is this? Rude, overpriced, and inefficient. Not even an apology for the delay, spoke to us as we were doing them a favour. We got our money back, had great coffee at home, and you can be sure we will never go back to this place. Such a shame though as you would expect people “passionate about excellent customer service” as they claim. I’m not a difficult customer, and both me and my husband are nice people that speak kindly to whoever provides us with any sort of customer service. What irritates me is when you pay upfront for a service/product and then get treated rudely by the staff, as if you are bothering them. You offer a service, you should be able to provide it, and if I pay for it I’m expecting it. It’s simple, I think. You can’t because you’re busy? Then I’d appreciate some honesty, like “today’s Easter, we’re very busy and it may take longer than usual. Are you okay to wait?”. As I said, it’s not the first time we encountered poor customer service at TBI; and let’s be honest, this place is just lucky cause it’s the only one in Ratho. If there were some competition, both prices AND customer service would probably be much better. Never again, sorry.

Popped in for lunch today while we waited for a family member to get some work done at the local eye clinic. Had the steak pie, so did mum, might even be the best steak pie I’ve had. Nice pastry, top and bottom which is rare, loads of steak and a well balanced gravy. Well done chef. Chips and veg were spot on too. Friendly and accommodating staff and young lads doing a grand job. I didn’t see the tip jar but I would have dropped a little something for them. Would stop by again…

I had a few beers in here, its not that big a place indoors i say it can get quite snug when its get very busy. There is a car park on site and you can have you're food and drinks out doors as there is tables and chairs outside. if you want too sit and watch the people and barges going by on the union canal. it's only a stones throw from the union canal as well.

We heard they were serving pizza during 2024 winter renovations. We could smell the delicious aroma from the parking lot! Despite the cold wind, the staff was super friendly, helpful, and gave us good beverage pairing suggestions. The pepperoni and veggie pizzas were tasty with a Scottish cider. Right now they're doing pizza on just Friday, Saturday, Sunday, so don't miss out. Look for the entrance behind the shipping containers and a warm welcome. We'll be back again next weekend!

Spacious restaurant. Family friendly and dog friendly. They have one room where dogs aren't allowed. Sunday roast was okay. I enjoyed more bangers and mash. Desserts are bit disappointing. Staff friendly and attentive. Had some issue with my meal but they resolved problem immediately. Very nice and kind manager.

So, let me explain...my previous review below was the truth....back then. Since then, La Favorita has declined and is more consistently disappointing rather than the best they used to be. We order at least once a week, every week. The pizza consistency is now awful. Last night it was more of a light, thin tasteless dough. Last week there was extra semolina on the base and a lot darker. Sometimes it's thicker, sometimes its thinner. The chicken tenders have varied wildly over the last 4 weeks. Sometimes small and lots, sometimes 3, sometimes 4 larger ones. Some overcooked and really brown, some lighter...in the same box....! It's really disappointing. Looking at the website, you can not place an order for collection! I wanted to contact them direct to leave feedback, but the constant pop-up advising no collection and have i contacted the store, only to reveal there is only 1 store now. This just annoyed me more. Given there are 3 brand new pizza places, actually closer to me than Leith Walk and 2 of them get much better reviews, I've always been loyal to La Favorita, but it's being tested every time now. I don't know how or why you've lost your mojo, consistency, love, quality, chefs or whatever it is. The secret to any successful business is do something good, consistently and leave it simple. You don't see award winning restaurants or take-aways churning out massive menu's. You go anywhere in Europe and the award winning, massively popular places are the ones that focus on doing a small number of things, really well. It feels like you are churning out pizzas, toppings indiscriminately thrown on, you use to put oregano on, this stopped. Last night, only 2 slices had all of the allocated red chilli, the others no chilli. It's just sloppy. The dough is massively inconsistent. Putting differently coloured chicken tenders in the same order is just wrong. I'm going to leave my previous review below, This is how you are. Below is how you were. Please get better. 2 Years ago............ I can't fault La Favorita, their pizzas are the best I've ever had, outisde of Italy. The smokey wood fired taste, the base, touch of oregano, the quality of ingredients are genuinely mouth-watering. Having had quite a few deliveries, I find collection is the best method. I have noted that they have reheating instructions on the box now. I do pop it in the oven for 2 or 3 mins on a pizza stone after collecting it, unless it was fresh out of the oven. To be completely honest, I would eat it cold for breakfast too. It's a shame they no longer sell the chicken broccolli pasta and I don't find their arancini that good. The last few times, they have been overcooked and far too expensive for what you get. The calamari has been excellent on occasion, on others, not the best. I find their pizzas are mostly consistently excellent. Having tried many others in the area, there is no competition. Apart from their garlic bread, I have found somewhere that I prefer but the pizzas.....faultless.

What a fantastic little gem. Right in the heart of Edinburgh but in a quiet location. Staff outstanding and so friendly. Rooms. every one was different but spotless. Food was excellent and there was a discount on evening meals if you were resident in the hotel. Quirky but in keeping with the traditional build of the area. Liked it so much myself and my wife will visit again shortly and take in a show at the playhouse theatre only 5 mins walking away. Highly recommend.
