The fries are really really good. Best in Edinburgh I would say but not a big fan of anything else. Burgers just have too much going on meaning you can’t really taste anything and the chicken is not great

Visiting from Canada and had the good fortune to enjoy a meal here. Absolutely FABULOUS burger,one of the best I have had anywhere. Waffle fries were amazing as well, crispy and fresh. Highly recommend the banana shake! Simon and Gavin are the epitome of Scottish hospitality.

Update: we went for a second visit last night and it was equally as good. The O.G Double Double was delicious (that bacon!), the waffle fries were so crisp. We tried a small portion of wings and we're already planning on coming back for a wings dinner! The service is so friendly, thanks again!

Popped in here to try it as I’m still not over the fact that Bells Diner in Stockbridge has closed. Wow the food in here is D-LICIOUS. I got the meal deal with their version of a cheese burger with the ‘fries’ and the banana milkshake. Superb. I will be back!

We had a great time in this restaurant! everything was perfect, the cuisine, rich and excellent, with the atmosphere where the boss received us like kings! do not hesitate!!

First time visitor but won't be the last. I had the OG double double with onion rings and a strawberry shake and the burger was superb Service was great thanking Simon for that and running after us to return my mates phone which he had left on the table .

Fab food and the super friendly staff. Simon at the Stockbridge restaurant ran down the street after we left to return my phone as I'd left it behind.. Very kind. Highly recommend.

Great American style 'smashed' burgers. Great service. Beef is ground and sufficient fats. The Buffalo chicken burger is spot on with flavour - not overly spicey and perfectly balanced gorgonzola 'blue' cheese that doesn't overpower the buffalo sauce. Waffle fries are nice and crunchy (not 'UK soggy'), with a good dose of seasoning. Clever Americano decorations. They staff know the details of cooking American style burgers. We'll be back.

This surprising burger store hidden in Stockbridge featuring smash burger is definitely a hidden gem! Almost all the burgers come with 2 smash patties. The patties are juicy but crunchy along with their signature sauce, cheese, toasted bun and crunchy bacon, the O.G. Double Double is the perfect balance of flavour and texture! The only burger with one patty comes with braised brisket. The brisket is full of flavour with some sweetness and it melts in your mouth is really addictive. The price is reasonable with the option of making your burger a meal that comes with waffle fries and drinks or milkshake. The waffle fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but i wish it had more flavour. Great burger, great price, great atmosphere and service. Definitely recommend!

Earl’s “we’re working on it” Burger… Where do I start? They certainly are “working on it”… In response to every query on the status of one’s order, the incompetent FOH would respond to each patron “we’re working on it”. I had to repeat my order 5 times to him, and even then he couldn’t get it right; my friend and I were then overcharged, and were left waiting 1 whole hour for our food to arrive. Across the hour, our stomachs rumbled as loud verbal altercations occurred between staff; disgruntled delivery drivers were left waiting in the dark, and patrons were left unattended and hungry. Staff were in no way welcoming; sincerely no regard was given for any sit in clients, very disrespectful and just shy of rude. That said, the food was great; I’d opt for a delivery.

Half the price of 5 guys, twice as good 10/10

It was my third time dining in at Earls in Stockbridge today and yet again, I loved it, as did my sister and her husband who were trying it for the first time. The service has always been friendly and warm. I have always ordered the OG burger with waffle fries and slaw and it has always been DELICIOUS. I'm delighted for them that they are opening another branch in Morningside. Spread the Earls love people.

I Have been coming here for a while now. It was my favourite burger in Edinburgh. Unfortunately went in recently and waited to sit down as one of the staff members cleaned the tables. The lady working wasn’t the warmest of personalities but when I asked if we could use the toilet she said no. As I say I have been here quite a lot and I have used the toilet there and so has my partner. The girl said they were staff toilets only and customers can’t use them. She didn’t try and be helpful and left us really disappointed, so unfortunately we left and went elsewhere. I loved it here and the food is amazing but don’t feel I will be going back.

First visit, food, service and atmosphere all top class, can definitely recommend The O.G. Double Double.

Not all smash burger places are made equal, and Earls stands head and shoulders above the competition. Their OG smash burger is perfectly crispy and cheesy. Portions are generous, make sure you get a side of their home made burger sauce. Tunes are class as well.

Decent burger for Edinburgh. Great service! Lots of variety of choice. Generous portions so make sure you’re hungry before going there. Price higher than other similar burger places in the city.

Great burgers, they are well balanced. The sauce is nice too. It is a small place with very limited seating but they have a good menu of beef and chicken burgers. The prices are reasonable, around £10 per person, and overall it is what I hoped it would be. I'm giving 5 stars as a good option to get burgers around.

Amazing food, great service . This hidden gem in Stonebridge in Edinburg , is a must if you are visiting. I had the dirty south burger , so juicy and filling. I would highly recommend to try the house pickles , they are so zesty and juicy, and don’t forget to get the waffle fries.

Just tried Earl's. Been wanting to for ages but was never clear on the hours. It now has posted hours and the food was Excellent. Great burger, (the OG) and great chips. Kid's size options too.

This was a really exceptional burger. Feels homemade, and so tasty. The milkshakes were also so good. I would highly recommend getting it as a meal for the full experience!

"Hhmmmmm, this *IS* a tasty burger!" Seriously though, the OG is simple, delicious, and reasonably priced. Pairs well with waffle chips / fries. Really need to go back for the chicken burger too. A wee bit of seating which might be a bit tight if it's full, but for a few couples it'd be fine.

Wish they had another veggie options, as the one I got fell apart. But the waffle fries were yum!

I usually go for a fairly classic option on my first visit to a burger place to assess it and Earl's knocked it out the park with delicious OG burger. The smashed parties had a nice crust and were juicy with a soft yet robust bun. Plenty of sauce and cheese added more flavours but nothing was lost. The waffle fries were the best I'd tasted and we had a delicious thick shake to go with it.

Best smash burger I've had in Edinburgh hands down! Also one of the few places I've found that actually does milkshakes thick enough that your straw stands up on it's own 🤤

The place is small but the food is really good and the prices are fair. The waffle fries were really good.
