Small, lovely, 'old man' pub. If you love a typical English pub, this hits the mark. Great staff and we had a fantastic pub lunch! Which was cheap and very very cheerful.

Waiting time was extremely long, waited 45 minutes for two fish and chips when only three tables were occupied in the entire place. The tables weren't clean, had stains and smelt bad. Food was average, lacked seasoning but decent portion.

Proper traditional pub. Will be back.

Definitely recommend this place. I travel alone and visited it late at night, and still felt there perfectly fine - great, genuine local experience, very nice beer and snacks, and a safe space.

Great pub and great food,some nice beers on draught and you get plenty of good food on your plate,really enjoyed our visit,8 meals ordered and 8 drinks for under a hundred pounds?what's not to like,my sons burger looked delicious and the rest of us had Sunday lunch which was plentiful and not often I say this but I struggled to finish it lol,would definitely call in again if passing

They have a coin operated pool table but apparently the pub doesn't hold cash/coins (according to a staff member), and so customers can't get change for the pool table. I found this and the bar person unhelpful, hence my 1 star rating.

Food hit or miss, Service was good from young lad. No gas for soft drinks. Gone down hill from the last we were in.

Food is excellent, staff are friendly & provide a good service, but what lets this place down is the atmosphere. It’s clear it’s one of those “locals/regulars pubs” & you get stared at if you aren’t one. Plus you have to put up with the loud sweary behaviour of the regulars (seen this mentioned in other reviews so it isn’t just me). Fair enough yes, it’s their local, but I don’t want to listen to that. Another review I’ve seen mentions seeing someone snorting cocaine in the gents (then chucking the bag in the urinals) & people stood outside smoking weed (the smell drifting in through the open door) - lovely! From the website it’s clear the team are working very hard to attract new customers but please deal with these issues first. Then I’d happily return because everything else is great.

I called in with a colleague on our way home, we sat outside as it was still warm, the garden was large. I noticed a dart board and a stage so it appeared it was a good community pub, I only accessed the toilets as we were leaving, could do with an update but all in all friendly enough pub.

What a wonderful place, so welcoming and the food was superb, forget 5 I wish I could give them 10 stars all round, I ate with my daughter and had a great meal, with great service at such a reasonable price.

Always a great place for food and drink

Came in here for a drink and a pizza recently (meat feast) and had a lovely experience. The gorgeous girl Niamh behind the bar was so lovely and really made the experience for me. Would come back again.

Had a few pints of lovely cold lager. Food wise had steak pie, chips and mushy peas. Pie full of tender lean beef, proper home made chips. Very tasty. Will definitely be back.

Great food wonderful atmosphere would strongly recommend. I had the rabbit pie and chips my wife had a chicken pie. Both very tasty and incredible value.

Lovely food. Great service. Doesn't take cash which is very odd for a working class pub in a working class area. This started during covid and I would have thought they would have got over it by now.

Was an alright meal for the price of it. Loads of food on the Sunday Roast, lots of meat and vegetables, and they gave us extra gravy. However, the Yorkshire puddings were a bit on the burnt side and the beef getting towards being overcooked, as it was quite tough. I got a burger, and it was nice, loaded with loads of salad. However, the burger patty itself was a bit like a large meatball, not a smooth patty, but lots of mince packed together, which made it quite tough in some parts of the patty. The fries were alright, got cold quickly. The shandy was more lemonade than alcohol, making it very sweet. And the atmosphere was mediocre, landlady could be seen abruptly telling the staff what to do quite rudely. The whole place could do with a deep clean, and the tables had these cheap, white, plastic tablecloths, making it less like a pub and more like a café. Can’t fault the waitress, was very nice and helpful. However, we won’t be going back.

Traditional pub friendly staff and good service, reasonably priced beer

The food was sub par but not expensive. But it took an hour to arrive and it wasn't busy. But the beer selection was fantastic. 8 real ales. Really nice interesting beer. If was on a session this place would be ace. To have that many real ales on means this place must be jumping at the weekend. Should have got the pies I think is the catch phrase.

It was too expensive, and you can only pay with a credit card.

My wife and I was on our way to visit family in hospital and we fancied some lunch. So we stopped off here at the bridge in and had a lovely meal and it was reasonably priced as well. Would recommend this pub to anyone

It was our first visit to this pub and it won't be the last. We had a friendly welcome and the menu was the largest I've ever seen. As it was lunchtime my wife & I didn't want much to eat so we had the Spicy Crabcakes and a bowl of chunky chips. The service was good and didn't have long to wait. The Crabcakes were ample size and very tasty as were the chips. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and can't wait to go back and try something off the main menu. The price was also very reasonable...

Loved it. Gentle atmosphere, old fasioned but with modern full service. Good food. No rush, you can chat and enjoy your meal or drink.

Really nice food, staff are lovely, it's a great little spot in the area and my favourite local pub of the closest ones to my house. They have a massive beer garden for the summer and put on live entertainment as well. A great community feature!

4 de nosotros fuimos al Puente para una comida de cumpleaños. 3 disfrutó de la buena comida: uno es vegano y se vio obligado a elegir una porción de papas fritas, ya que la única opción vegana en todo el menú era un plato picante que, según admitió el mesero, tenía "un poco de sabor". Ni siquiera había un entrante como una sopa a base de verduras (tomate/puerro y patata/chirivía/zanahoria, etc.) ya que la "sopa" ese día era de pimientos. Se habían agotado de esos. Buenas patatas fritas, pero en estos tiempos de reducción de la carne y los productos lácteos que están tanto en los medios de comunicación, es decepcionante ver que se hace poco esfuerzo en este pub.

Después de un paseo de perros por la mañana, llamamos alrededor de las 11. 45 am, buscando unas cervezas y almorzando. El pub estaba abierto, pero vacío tanto de clientes como de personal. Esperamos en el bar por el servicio durante varios minutos, pero nadie apareció para servirnos. Como resultado, salimos y nos fuimos a otro lado. PD: La gama de cerveza de barril estaba limitada a dos bombas de al menos seis. Propietario y Leeds Pale en oferta pero todo el resto vacío.

2 for 1 on pies, decent beers on draft and a good Guinness. It's a proper pub

me and my daughter went here for a meal. I had a prawn cocktail starter. the prawns were warm and I think had been defrosted in a microwave. could easily give somebody food poisoning. Both main meals were terrible, we left all of it. will never ever eat there again

Really nice quaint little pub. Slightly dated but welcoming and has a pool table and darts boards. Decent food.

A few weeks ago I had no idea how I'd get home as my phone was nearly out of battery and there was at least a 20 minute wait for my bus! I was very lucky as it turned out there was a charger I could use at The Bridge! If the lovely lady that works behind the bar is anything to go by, this is a place I'll visit again! I was there for a funeral tea and the food was lively and fresh, hope to return to try the pie challenge.

The sunday roast would of been good but had to aske for gravy so many times and also large yorkshire pudding with beef n veg got no veg

Lovely beer garden, staff very helpful but if you can't remember orders then have a pad and pen with you? Asked for a pint if soda water, got a half. Asked for a pint of iced water, got half. Asked for half a cider with black current cordial in, got a pint 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷

Rachel and the team are absolutely amazing! I live in Australia, I contacted Rachel just before Xmas to buy my parents a gift card. Rachel posted them a gift card along with a beautiful certificate - totally went above and beyond!! They are over the moon with it and are enjoying the take away service offered during lockdown so much! We have eaten there when visiting and can totally agree with my parents - the food is amazing! Well done The Bridge!

Staff very pleasant and good was great

This is a hard one to do due to the covid safe conditions but we were seated at a rather grubby table at the back of the pub and waited for 10mins before we got a menu. When we eventually got one we then waited to give our order in fact so long my husband got up and went to the bar and they took the order . The food was good and of ample size we both had the home made pies which were good . I wouldn't go here again but if you like pie defo worth a try.

Me and my boyfriend visited last friday for a casual date night. It was my first time in the bridge and as a barmaid of 13 years i can say it's spot on! Perfect pint, staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Let's not even get me started on the food!!! 😍 i had a lamb shank, it literally fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. He had the surf and turf again cooked to perfection, and when i say amazing i mean we barely spoke a word through eating just sat rolling our eyes with pleasure! (I know that sounds weird but we've all had an eye rolling food moment in our lives surely). It's deffo going to be our local from now on as prices are cool too. Infact we've just booked a table for again this evening.

Good choice of ale, frequently changes, unfortunately no Old Rosie but the food seems A1 and Sunday lunch served till 10pm excellent.

Omg had the best fish and chips ever here to say it was a " light bite" there was so much beautiful food!!
