Very posh chilled vibes in this restaurant/Bar. Went in initially just for a drink but because we might get a table we ordered some tempura prawns which are absolutely delicious. And the drinks we had were very nice as well and the whole place is very elegant, definitely a great place for a night out with friends or a date with the partner.

Wow! Great experience as expected. Amazing cocktails and great food. Couldn't ask for more. The bartender provided exceptional service. As it was our first time here, we had a lot of questions and he was really kind and helpful. We had 4 cocktails each and we really enjoyed them till the last drop.

The veg sharing plate as a starter was really delicious but my main course was disappointing (tempura batter was too thick and heavy). Music was rather loud.

Just had an amazing meal and I can't stop raving about it! The food was top-notch—everything from the smoking chicken to the cookie smore was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. The cocktails were a highlight too; great value and served with a bit of theatre! The staff were super attentive, guiding us through the menu and even recommending drinks which really made the experience special. Can't wait to come back for more!

Increíble. Hicimos los 3 cócteles n brunch 30 libras trato. Le pregunté a la oficina central si podemos cambiar de opinión a la llegada y dijeron que sí. Después de la 1 calle 2 tragos nos dimos cuenta por 10 más podemos ir ilimitado el chico amable pidió n nos dejó. El almuerzo estaba bien, pero los cocktaisl eran encantadores. Todos los servidores eran amigables aunque 3 días después de Navidad decidimos eliminar el cargo masivo por servicio. (Ojalá nunca ahora). Gran brunch gran personal grandes cócteles!

Tomamos un par de cócteles que eran originales y deliciosos. No habíamos estado aquí antes, el servidor, Dan era muy servicial y atento. Servicio y ambiente encantador.

Enjoyed some impressive cocktails. So many to choose from. Our mixologist was so good. I forgot their name but they recommended some great tasting ones.

Really disappointed with our latest trip to the alchemist. Me and my partner had our first date at The Alchemist and have chose to go back for the last 3 years. The first two times were amazing, great food and service. This time we arrived early at 6:40 on Friday the 13th when the table was booked for 6:45. Was quickly greeted and sat which was promising. Our main gripe was we was sat in the restaurant area but the music was that loud you couldn’t hear each other speak. We then sat for 25 minutes without no one coming over. We tried to flag down waiters and waitresses but was looked at and ignored. Finally at 7:07 what must of been a manager kindly came over and took our drink and food order. The drinks arrived shortly and as usual was very nice. Starters arrived quickly and we started to relax as it seemed like everything was going well. Starters were cleared and mains took nearly and hour to come out and when they did they were disappointing. Rice was overcooked and katsu chicken breadcrumbs was soft. We quickly ate and asked for the bill. I asked for service charge to be taken off which is a first as me and my partner both work in hospitality. Really saddened as we love the alchemist but this has left us wondering if we should go elsewhere in future.

Really fun experience and the range of cocktails was amazing. The server was helpful and guided us to get our perfect cocktail.

The staff at the Alchemist are fantastic and go above and beyond. We will be back next time we visit Leeds.

I popped in for a drink and was absolutely impressed! The oysters were delicious and innovative, and the drinks were served with a great theatrical flair. The service was top-notch, with Abbie being particularly awesome and attentive. The place was spotless, and the entire atmosphere was just perfect for a chill night out. Can't wait to come back!

El lugar siempre es bueno, pero mi única observación era el personal pasando tanto tiempo jugando. Sí, el bar era tranquilo, pero literalmente una persona de cada 7 no estaba haciendo nada. Había un funcionario que claramente estaba sirviendo bebidas, pero el resto aparte de los supervisores no estaban haciendo nada. Una señora incluso estaba armada con pistola de agua. No es lo que hubiera esperado ya que pagué 14 libras por una copa de vino, y luego estaba en un entorno como este Ligeramente decepcionado por los estándares aquí que mojan ser entregados. My wife and I visited for dinner and cocktail before heading into town. Booked table online (very easy, and would recommend booking on a weekend). Katsu Curry and Chicken in a basket was fresh, succulent and very tasty. Caramel Churros for dessert were piping hot, delicious and extremely moorish! Would highly recommend the Churros. Smoking Old Fashioned cocktail was perfect (and really hard to find a good Old Fashioned nowadays). We went around 6pm, and it was busy, but not overcrowded. If I had one criticism, it would be the music was very loud in the dining area (made it quite hard to talk and order). Everywhere else, the music volume was perfect. Very highly recommend!

The staff, food, and cocktails were incredible. The chocolate brownie was definitely 'next level' 😃 and the service was the best I've had just about anywhere.

We recently stopped in for lunch, having only experienced the cocktails here on previous visits. For starters, we chose the chorizo and cheddar dough balls, followed by the tempura fish and chips and the French dip steak sandwich as our mains. Each dish was flavorful, and the service was attentive throughout. While the food was enjoyable, we did anticipate a bit more of the creative, laboratory-style flair that the establishment is known for with its cocktails. Overall, a pleasant dining experience, though a touch more innovation in the food presentation would have been appreciated to match the uniqueness of their drinks menu.

Mi primera vez en el Alquimista después de todos estos años. Nos trataron con servicio de mesa que nos salvó de esperar ansiosamente en el bar. Hay una amplia gama de cócteles para elegir. Fui por el de los zombis. El miembro del personal me dijo que solo lo bebiera a través de la pajita y no a través del vaso, porque entonces me quemaría la garganta. Por supuesto, esto significa que pasé todo el tiempo teniendo que contenerme físicamente de beber a través del vidrio por pura curiosidad. Las bebidas son todas caras, pero creo que por una bebida vale la pena por la experiencia!

Pedí un cóctel para compartir llamado "Elige tu veneno" El lugar estaba vacío. Tardaron 20 minutos en servirnos. La bebida sabía bien, pero si la hubiéramos vertido en un vaso de media pinta, apenas la habría llenado hasta la mitad. Y para añadir insulto al perjuicio añadieron automáticamente un 10% de cargo por servicio sin preguntarnos. Lo pagamos pero nunca volveremos!

La ubicación es excelente al estar tan cerca de la estación de tren. Nuestro hotel estaba a solo 100 metros de distancia, así que estábamos muy emocionados de ir después de nuestra comida de aniversario para tomar cócteles. Nos habían recomendado visitar aquí por varios amigos, así que estábamos preparados para un final divertido de la noche. Gran ambiente acogedor de bar y personal alegre , servicial ayudándonos a seleccionar algo que se adapte a nuestro gusto del extenso menú . La preparación de todos los cócteles termina con el llenado completo de la copa con hielo y luego se vierte en el brebaje para descansar hacia el fondo de la copa. No pasó mucho tiempo para que nuestras bebidas comenzaran a debilitarse por el hielo derretido y me dejó haciendo muecas en el sabor al final. Tristemente esta fue nuestra única bebida ya que nos fuimos a probar en otro lugar.

Great atmosphere and service with a smile - thank you

I’ve visited The Alchemist several times before with larger groups and have always had a great experience. However, my recent visit as a party of two was incredibly disappointing. The difference in service was stark. Despite having a reserved time slot, we were served only two rounds of drinks and felt completely ignored by the staff. We had to repeatedly prompt them just to place an order for our drinks. When we finally managed to order a second drink, our server told us she’d have to check if we had enough time left on our table—something I’ve never experienced before. When we tried to order food, we were told we could only order small plates, which felt like a deliberate effort to rush us out the door. It’s clear that The Alchemist prioritises larger parties and neglects smaller groups. This felt unfair considering we were paying customers just like everyone else. What used to be a go-to spot for me has now become a place I’ll likely avoid in the future. If you’re in a smaller group, I wouldn’t recommend.

Great place if you like your cocktails. Sophisticated atmosphere, fantastic service and great theatre in the way they are served

I didn’t eat so can’t review on that the vibe was good but one particular bar staff was very rude to say the least . Would not spend my money in this place

A wonderful first time visit to The Alchemist in Greek Street, Leeds. The cocktails were amazing and the food was great, but the thing that turned a good night into a great night was the service from Tilly and Ollie. They couldn't have been more friendly, helpful or informative (and patient with a noisy table having a fun night out). If I could give 10 stars for service, I would! I certainly know where I'll be heading next time I'm in Leeds!!

Never disappoints, the food is fabulous, staff are friendly and not overly attentive, but just right. We had the chicken in a basket, always a favourite and the tempora fish and chips.

Really lovely atmosphere but it was a bit too loud to talk. The food was really good and we had a great time.

Went for bottomless brunch on Saturday. Was amazing and our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. I understand he was new to the team and I daresay he's amazing. Big shoutout to Tariq (hope I got this right 🙂 ) and Tina who looked after us so well. Service was so much better than I have had before anywhere 🙂

Slow service, nice venue but it was really quite when I went on the whole of Greek street so not much atmosphere

We went for a couple cocktails on the weekend and it was heaving. We’d booked a table and had to wait a little bit for it, but it was fine. Service was okay and the drinks came out somewhat fast.

Went on a tuesday evening, it was quiet but a lovely atmosphere, the Manager tended to us straight away and we got our cocktails in no time. The Hard Peach Iced Tea is a must have. Delicious!

Firstly trying to book was a bit of a nightmare but it was sorted out once complaints were raised, 12 of us dined tonight for my 25th, food was absolutely brilliant, service was also good. Drinks, cocktails specifically were a little on the strong side. In my opinion cocktails are meant to taste nice and get you drunk sneakily, these tasted like pure spirit. For example I had a strawberry daiquiri and it was very strong rum taste rather than the strawberry fruity flavour it should have. Then our biggest issue came to the bills. With us being a big group I understand it may be difficult to deal with however my mother in law was ordering bottles of wine and laying separately to the bill we had with the food, when she got said bill for the wine there was an extra £5 tip charge along with a service charge she’d never agreed to. Then when we all got our final bills which was two separate bills, 6 people on each bill. One bill was fine no issue, the bill for the second table which had my mother on it who originally paid the deposit for the table all paid their bill however the £132 cash they paid was never registered on the till and so the deposit returned to my mother was less than she should of had, wether this was a mistake by one of the staff or intentional of what we have no idea, it was dealt with after about 30 minutes after one member of our group spoke to the staff to try and explain the mistake made to which then staff were very reluctant to try and resolve the incident and were very argumentative, one waitress in particular whose name we did not get but was very rude to members of our party during the questioning of the bill. In the end it was all resolved however being completely honest I would never return here again which is unfortunate as the food is great but our experience was ruined due to poor customer service.

Well.......it was a wet cold friday evening walking through the dreary streets of Leeds I stumbled upon this bar by luck. My nephews 20th birthday I said I will treat you to some cocktails. The bar was extremely quiet and dead. However it was a really great night as the staff were happy and made it good fun. I worked my way through the menu and I think we tried around 80percent of the cocktails. In my personal opinion the popsicle ones Tasted soapy and I really didn't like them. The fun ones were TNT and Mad hatters. The one I enjoyed the taste of the mist was jaffa cake. It comes with a warning don't bite the edible cup until completely empty (I had about and inch left and thought it will be fine if I nibble the top... but it split all the way done and leaked over my leg) All in all this was the better franchised cocktail bars I have been in....

Couple of pre dinner drinks, fairly quiet although it was a Tuesday night.

We had a brilliant time with fancy, tasty cocktails all brought to us by the amazing Tilly who couldn’t do enough for us. She really made the night for us, can’t praise her enough. Thank you Tilly 🥂

Brilliant place. Staff were friendly. Very busy at the bar leading to increased waiting times. But nothing major. Usual prices for similar places. Good location easy to find.

We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday and had a lovely lunch with Tilly looking after us throughout. We had the chicken bao, panko halloumi, and prawn lollipops which were all delicious. We had the honey chicken burger, Cuban sandwich, cheese burger and chicken fajitas again all delicious. Our granddaughter loved her chicken bento box as well. The churros went down well! Good choice of drinks as well! Would recommend for a family celebration!

Absolute joke of a place. Waiting 10 minutes to be served, for the bloke to just ignore me and go to other people. Wouldn’t happen if I was a woman. Sort it out.

One of my favourite bars in Leeds, drinks are incredible, never once have I been disappointed here. I took friends from down south here after a year of hyping it up, and they both loved the Alchemist. An absolute key piece to a good night out in Leeds.

The evening started off really well, we were told as soon as your glass is half full we will take your next order. This happened for the first few drinks, but then seemed management were watching us, which obviously made us feel uncomfortable! Then they tried to charge us £25 service charge, which we asked to be removed ! Would we return no !

Nipped in for drinks and decided to stay for a bite to eat, it was nothing special, a little bit average compared to what I expected, service was good, food could have been a lot better for what we paid. It was OK overall, and will probably try again, but not rushing back

Can't beat a smoky old fashioned and the Alchemist is the place to get one or two or more.

Was here for works do, food was ok but very slow sat at 8 didnt get main until 9.30 pm, not sure eating here for a while

Great bar, lovely surroundings but the prices were well off. £14.80 for a beer and a small prosecco is too expensive in anyone's book. Not really on. I can understand charging for the artisan cocktails but beer and prosecco is extreme pricing.

Didn't have any food so that is why I haven't given it a rating. Drinks however were lovely! Very good service from all of the staff, felt very welcomed. Only issue I had was with the volume of the music, even in the restaurant section I had to shout to hear my friend who was next to me and we both left with our ears ringing - it was a Saturday night though to be fair!

Food and drinks fantastic as always. Bit of a shock when we got the bill though - full price - despite clearly stating on booking and arrival that we were there for the boundless brunch. So felt a bit cheated to be honest. Bill was promptly corrected but still included the OPTIONAL £11.50 service charge which I felt was undeserved. So I left £5 of it only.

We dined here on Sunday 3rd December with a reservation. We are returning customers to The Alchemist and fans of both restaurants in Leeds, however Sunday’s experience was very disappointing. Service was slow throughout even though the restaurant was very quiet, the restaurant was freezing and the attitude of the staff member when I asked if the heating was broken was disappointing. To be told we were sat on the side where the heating doesn’t work, and the temperatures are freezing outside is sad sign of the lack of customer experience you strive for. We arrived cold after being out in the snow, and left colder. We won’t be rushing back!

Couldn't fault anything from start to finish. We were actually nearly 30 min late, but the staff still made us feel so welcome, even gave us the table for an extra 30 min. We actually travelled 1hr 30 for a girls day out (11 of us) and this place made it worth the while. The food was lovely as were the cocktails. Great feel in the place and we're already looking forward to coming back. Thanks everyone!

Booked for 6:30, seated by 7. Staff were pleasant enough, shame the food and atmosphere weren’t. DO NOT EAT HERE. The food was bland and cold when we got it and though I was with good company I couldn’t hear a word they were saying over the ridiculously loud music. Won’t be coming here again.

I recently visited the alchemist on a Saturday night, myself and MIL ordered a pornstar martini. When it came it was 90% froth and a yellow colour. We challenged the bar man stating it was all froth and he replied with ‘it’s still got the same amount of alcohol and the froth will go down’ meaning we only had a very small amount of liquid. When I tasted it I was so disappointed! It tasted nothing like passion fruit and tasted allot more like pineapple with a bitter taste. It was completely undrinkable. We then went to all bar one further down and the porn star martinis there were 1000000% better. Really disappointing for alchemist considering the prices it charges.

If I could give more than a 5*I would .sat in for hours tonight ,the guys were so attentive and friendly ❤️really looked after us .

Greatest meal out we have ever been to. We came for a little date day to leeds looking for somewhere a little more special to celebrate being child free for a day! We visited this restaurant and from start to finish were so impressed. The host (brown haired lady, yellow skirt) was so lovely and happy. Showed us to our seat promptly with no problem even though we had no booking. For first timers, we found the drinks menu had so much variety and were a little unsure on what to order. Imad our waiter was so friendly and had a very happy aura. He was more than happy to help recommend things we may enjoy. The food was so amazing. I’ve never had anything like it. Cannot recommend enough the duck salad. So flavorful and quick too! We will definitely return here. Money well spent. It’s nice to see happy and helpful staff. It really makes the experience.

Came here yesterday for my friends hen party, I loved the cocktails and personally thought the service was fab until it was time to pay. There was a misunderstanding with the bill, all of the £40 service charge wasn’t paid as a few people thought it was optional. In the end my friend payed the rest of the service charge and I didn’t think there was an issue. The woman serving us then stormed off and stood at the head of our table with her arms folded, shaking her head looking visibly angry. Genuine childlike behaviour and just a really unprofessional response to a situation. Don’t work in hospitality if you can’t professionally respond to a situation. Ruined what had been a fab time.

Absolutely fantastic. 1st came back in Feb 23 but just had cocktails. This time we had food too & we were not in any way disappointed : crispy curried fish & French dip steak sandwich, both delicious, flavours perfectly blended to complement the main component of the meal. Everything about our visit was perfect, from the service to the toilets... unfortunately I didn't take my phone to the toilet with me, but I was really impressed with them. It may seem odd to some people but alot of how I rate a place is based on their toilets, Alchemist toilets were not only really clean & not have that 'sewage' smell that some public toilets have, but they were stylishly decorated to a high standard which reflects the bar & restaurant. Well done team Alchemist, from one very satisfied customer... I'm definitely coming back.

We dropped into the Alchemist after being told they do some very interesting cocktails. We were the only ones in as quiet start to the night. James was a fantastic host and we tried at least 12 Cocktails were very tasty and pleasing to the eye. Definitely worth a visit circa £10 for each one

I ordered an Old Fashioned which is me of the most famous drinks that any cocktail bartender should be able to make with their eyes shut. I was horrified to see them pour it from a premix over a ball of ice, with no other effort put in. No question of which bourbon would you like sir? No orange peel, no zesting no bitters. I tried it and all you could taste was sugar syrup. I have drink these the world over and can tell you this was the worst I’ve ever had. I took it back to the bar and asked for a refund and it took a long discussion, two managers and lots of protesting before I was given my money back. I then ordered a pint of Moretti and paid £7.40 for the Priceline. Avoid the Alchemist at all costs!

My wife and I decided to eat at the Alchemist for a change and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing from start to finish. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. And the cocktails are fantastic. Can’t wait to return on our next outing to Leeds.

We booked this venue for a work event. The area and drinks as a whole weren’t that bad but our experience was ruined by a girl behind the bar who made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Unfortunately this meant we didn’t want to stay any longer and decided to move to another bar. Really disappointing that someone working in a customer service job should be so rude. A shame really.

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at the alchemist Greek Street was greeted max who introduced me to some Japanese larger which was very smooth before been shown or seats for lunch by Meg our orders were delivered by armina hope I spelt her name right on a whole a brilliant experience big shout out to max, Meg a d armina

I have no idea what either the drinks or food are like as we left. We had sat outside being ignored by the waiter for 10 mins, while he busied himself pretending to sweep up. As you can imagine, 11am on a Sunday, flat out! We tried going in and standing at the bar, which in fairness did get a different result, as we were then ignored by 2 members of staff instead. It's not all bad though. The couple sat on the adjacent table had also been ignored, so they came with us to All Bar One next door and we all had a lovely afternoon drinking and eating in the sun. The Alchemist- Failing to turn ordinary punters hard earnt into Gold.

Visited for my friends birthday on a day drinking in Leeds. We visited early afternoon & it was pretty quiet. There was 7 of us. This was my very 1st visit to an alchemist & I was not disappointed. I love the way the drinks are done & presented. I ordered happiness was served in a hip flask. This was a strong drink but very nice. Will definitely go back

Like every Alchemist I’ve been to, you’re given a sense that you’re entering someplace exclusive and special And the grand stairs leading to the main entrance does just that A decent size inside, we arrived on a Weds evening and it wasn’t as busy as I’m sure it is on a Friday/Saturday We ordered cocktails for each other, not knowing how it would turn out This was fun as everyone feared the worst Turned out the drinks are so well concocted that even the maturest of our group accepted his Screwball, however much it embarrassed him to drink it as it resembled a child’s dessert, he thoroughly enjoyed it

Arrived here on a very quiet Thursday afternoon for pre show drinks . It is a very beautiful bar with lots of comfy booths . There was a photo shoot of the new cocktails taking place which inspired us to try the ones they were photographing. Definitely an expensive couple of hours but we enjoyed ourselves .

Drinks are a bit expensive, but highly worth it. Would recommend.

Chicken Dippers and Chips Prawn Lollipops so disappointing we have eaten before at Trinity and we thought it was excellent. Could not get into Trinity as event taking place. We realised afterwards we should have gone to Carluccios where the food would have been far better.

Busy busy busy. I'd say quite expensive and not the normal type of bar I'd go to, it's a reflection on me not the bar(I'd definitely have been there 20 years ago) If your looking for an expensive busy bar then this is your place. I just like a quieter place these days

Nicely presented bar, different clientele to the Trinity centre Alchemist, more mature crowd which we appreciated. One of the first cocktail bars I have been to with a decent range of cocktails. The picture is of the CBD spritzer which tasted really nice, not too sweet either, the ambience and music really added to the evenings vibe and my friend and I on our alcohol free weekend had a really good night out here.

First time visiting absolutely loved it very different to what am used to definitely be going again.

Just had cocktails, which were amazing. Had the red dead zombie, happiness, which comes with a free mini hip flask & the Irish which is a hot drink - loved all of them, all expertly made by knowledgeable bar tenders. The photos of the food...

Fab cocktails not cheap but if you want to experience something different then this is the place for you. Food and service is very good Recommend a visit

Second visit here and after an outstanding first time, this time was disappointing. Most of vegetarian options were fried, unhealthy and not as adventurous as previous experience. Starter shrooms were very salty. Cocktails did not disappoint - don't mind pay extra for food but quality was not as great.

A very good selection of drinks, they were also very quick with making the drinks. we tried a few different cocktails and all of them were nice. I would prefer the music to be a bit less loud but that’s just my preference. Nice experience overall.
