A massive thank you to the devon and their team. We came in as part of a big party that we had booked in the conservatory at short notice the week before. Very accommodating. The buffet food was great, loads to go around, compliments to the chef, Rebecca I believe. We all had a wonderful time and the atmosphere was great despite the situation. We will highly recommend you to friends and family. Once again thank you for exceeding our expectations

Went out their way to get us all settled watching the Grand Prix, with an amazing steak wrap and a burger. Amazing food, great atmosphere. The puddings were fantastic too!!

Good food, was told there was half hour wait, which we were okay with, but it came less than half hour, so that was good. Bit noisy but it is Saturday night.

I came in with my two young daughters and felt very welcomed, service was great. A massive shout out to one of the staff Laura!! Very friendly and chatty and was even chatty to the children!! Will be back!!

I came on a thursday night and it was quite busy due to the lovely weather, I ordered food the southern fried chicken burger and a kids meal and was delivered by a lovely waiter called maddie she accommodated for me and my child and was even entertaining my little girl and making her laugh! It was lovely experience so thank you! i would reccomend to go again due to lovely staff

It’s been a while since the family got together, we made the mutual decision to meet at The Devon, GREAT CHOICE! We haven’t been here in a good few weeks, we came over the weekend when the sun was out. Even though the pub seemed overly and extremely busy the staff still delivered excellent service, food was great and the atmosphere for the sport was spot on. We will see you again this weekend

Brilliant Flaming Grill pub with amazing food and service !!!⭐

The food is always very nice and a good reasonable price, the restaurant has lovely seating, and is clean, the staff are always great here, very helpful, cheerful and polite, The only let down on this visit at Saturday tea time was the table of older men and one child, the men were very loud and were constantly swearing all evening, which was very unpleasant, and inconsiderate since there were children present.

We decided to try as we hadn’t been for food here for a while as the last time (previous landlord) was a bad experience but we were very impressed with the staff and the food and the menu had lots to offer.

So great the locals eat tins of sardines on the toilet

Two weeks ago we were there, arriving 5:40pm. There was a sign that the table was booked for 6:30pm. We were aware about that, but we ordered our dinner, it took more than 40 minutes to arrive. One of the rudest waitress that I have ever seen in my life came saying we needed to leave now, ignoring the fact that we said that the food took a long time to arrive. Never coming back and not recommending for any of my friends.

The place is busy for lunch. Our food took 30 minutes to arrive, but it was worth it.

Came for lunch around 11.45am got a house wine and pinte off lemonade. Wine was vile and lemonade was flat not a fiz bubble in sight . Ordered the mac&cheese with chicken on top . With side salad . The chicken was brown and very salty very unpleasant taste , the mac & cheese was bland have seen better microwave meals . The salad was definitely not fresh and look like it had been on the side a few days just had the brown edges cut off . The lasagna was cold and little to none taste very dry and yet again another microwave meal would have been better. We got a side of chips with beef dripping gravy , no chips just fries which wasn't a problem beef dripping gravy has never even seen any beef taste was a strong vinegar taste not a nice taste to leave behind . We did order dessert but didn't stay for that . Sorry but this definitely isn't worth the money.

over 1 hour wait for food. needed to clear and clean own table. Food shockingly bad. crispy chicken arrived limp and cold. chips covered in congealed chip shop sauce. 10 mins after eating half (as was starving from long wait ) went straight to the toilets and was violently sick. I'd advise people not to eat here

Food is very nice and good portion size too, place is nice and clean, we chose off the 2 meals for 13.49 and they were well nice

I have visited here and was surprised how good their food was. I highly recommend this place.

Drove over from Lancashire to visit my 91 year old mother and Brought her here for lunch. We ordered food and drinks from the bar and as we had consumed our drinks and waited nearly an hour I went to ask where our meals were. The Barmaid said they were busy and would be a few more minutes yet and it wasn't her fault . She served me an hour earlier and never mentioned it would be an hour or we would have gone else where. After another 10 to 15 mins the food arrived and I complained to the server who was not the slightest bit interested ,we ate the food but had no drinks at this stage and were not offered any either. Take it or leave it attitude will not be back. The Pensioners menu was no longer being offered that mum liked was also not offered any more. We will go else where next visit

Not a great experience travelled from Lancashire and took my 91 year old mum here for lunch. There used to be a Pensioners menu here for lighter eaters but that was no more. We ordered meals from the Bar and after consuming our drinks and waiting nearly an hour I went to the bar and asked where our food was Barmaid implied it was my own fault for not asking how long the wait was. Food arrived after another 10 mins so I complained again and go no apology just told that's what happens when it's busy. Won't be going back

This a great place to have a little bit to eat with a family of 5 because you can get a tray of food to eat with your family . Really nice food comes nice and hot and tastes amazing .

Visited today for drinks with friends. Served by Kasia, sarah and Liam who were friendly, efficient and happy to help. Had some food served by Shaun and Matthew, cooked to perfection. All round excellent experience would highly recommend.

We visited The Devon last night for dinner. The prices are quite cheap and that is unfortunately reflected in the quality of the food. We ordered nachos as a starter (it is on the menu as a starter) to share. These arrived in a tin like dish with our main courses and not as a starter. There were no side plates or plates of any description for us to share them. When the waitress realised they were supposed to be a starter she was apologetic and said she could take our mains away (presumably to be kept warm under an hot plate). The nachos were OK, I have had better and had worse. My partner had the steak and ale pie which he said was OK but his chips were quite hard. I had the steak flatbread and although I had requested my steak medium it was definitely very pink and rare which I didn’t like at all. The juices were running all over my plate and hands and the flatbread was extremely soggy and not nice at all. It was rather messy to eat. There were no napkins on our table and my partner had to scout around trying to find some. We noticed tables nearby which were covered in dirty plates and glasses before eventually they were cleared away after quite some time. I don’t think we will bother eating here again although I can see why people do because it is quite reasonably priced but the food we had on the whole was not good. Unlike a previous comment, we were not asked once if everything was Ok with our food. I wish someone had asked because I would have told them that it wasn't very good.

Met for a much needed catch up with old school friends . Plenty of areas to sit . Enjoyed the food . Quick service & reasonably priced.

We came to have an earlier dinner on Sunday at around 4pm and couldn’t be more disappointed, the server kept on coming over to ask us if everything was ok after we had told her the first time she brought the food over that it was ok and I felt like she didn’t get the message. She kept interrupting our meal and made it so we couldn’t enjoy our food as much as we wanted. The food was great I had the Gammon and my husband had the beef rib Sunday roast. All we wanted was a quiet sit down meal and couldn’t even get that. She must have come over like 3 or 4 times. Will avoid next time

We had a lovely lunch here today a family of 3 generations ,we've eaten here several times in the past as mum n dad live round the corner and I can honestly say the atmosphere, the staff and the food are always spot on...the lovely bar lady today went to the trouble of finding a candle for my mums desert when she found out it was mums 83rd birthday...( she apologised because she didn't have an 83rd candle only a 21st candle...)...it caused a laugh .We will be back soon.

Great night at the quiz. The land lady’s table ended up winning the quiz and donated the vouchers to the next 2 closest scores. The quiz lady (Jodie) did a great job for standing in too

Food was very poor. Ordered the burger on Christmas menu. Was dried out and very tough. Didn't bring it to staff attention as could see they were busy with a large group of people who were attending a funeral wake at the pub. When food was ordered we were told it would be at least 45min wait for food, but can't understand why as there didn't seem to be ma y people ordering or eating food. The other 3 diners with me also left their meals and said they were not enjoyable. Won't be going again.

Booked in last minute for our Christmas party at The Devon, really appreciate that the could accommodate us on such short notice. There was a big party of us, some eating off the festive menu some the pub menu and every single one of our ladies enjoyed their food. Great quality at great value for your money that all I will say. The staff that were on shift were lovely, the 2 young men that served our food at the table were very polite, helpful and gave us full table service, I thought it was great service that the chef brought the food out personally, I believe the other to be one of the managers. We had mixed reviews about Christmas at the devon because of some incident last year but we are glad we didn’t judge a book by its cover, you did not disappoint and we will certainly be back. Came in on a Friday afternoon, my husband had the sirloin steak and I had the gammon egg skillet. Was amazing. We heard there was a DJ on in the afternoon and went home to come back after tea and joined the party. Great atmosphere and lovely people.

The last time i was in the Devon was bk in 1985 when i lived there as it was a, pub. I went with family for a, meal yesterday (sunday). Knowing how good Green King restaurants are, i was a tad disappointed, nice layout, two big tvs. Showing football.. the menu wasnt the best, so we opted for the Beef Roast Dinner.. Cheesy mash potato err no.. Chewy leather beef. Green beans barely cooked . Nice n crunchy carrots n sweet garden peas. Aunty bessies Yorkshire puds.. Not the nicest.. Aunt Bessies Roast Potato's.. No potato inside hollow. And a stuffing ball.. With a roast beef dinner. Gravy which was ok. We did i form a member of staff we wasnt happy and explained why. We was offered free deserts each. I had the chocolaty sundae, it was nice I wont be going bk to the Devon. Ive had better meals at green king restaurants

Went for Sunday dinner, And to be honest, it's not great. Meat was fatty and the vegetables well let's leave it at that. No decent beer all ale garbage. Doesn't suit people that drink bud stuck in the dark ages

Lovely pub, clean and tidy. We were seated quickly and waited 15-20 mins for our food it was piping hot and very nice. Definitely book as its quite busy.

Being turned away from pub due my partner having a tracksuit on, after we both just finished work.I was in a suit so not exactly looking suspicious. We fancied a drink on way home. Please explain exactly what policy your following. Told its landladies decision just on what grounds is this is force.

Just moved back in the area after being in London for the past 3 years and we have made a return to our local. Wow what a change, we had been told that the Devon had made some changes but we did not expect this. We came in on Saturday for an early lunch before heading off to do some shopping. I got in to conversation with some of the staff to see what was what and what they had going on. The chap I spoke to explained that they had a dj and karaoke on later that evening. Me and my partner returned for more food and drinks, we stayed for the night and yes we had a great night! Aching the next morning. Dj Darren I think he was called played some great music, although I didn’t see anybody sing? Anyway the food was great, the gammon I would highly recommend, polite and cheerful and seemed to be having a laugh, great atmosphere all around. See you through the week

Good, busy pub. Don't serve a traditional Sunday dinner, but the food we had was lovely.

My friend and I visited yesterday we both had steak and ale pie. What a disappointment. The pie was huge plenty of mash and peas. Lots of gravy . on opening the pie, what a disappointment, both of the pies had very little meat.both pies had only three pieces of meat in each. two of mine had gristle my friend, she only got one piece of gristle. The mashed potatoes was very dry needed butter and milk. I think it could be instant mash as that’s what it tasted like the peas were okay. The gravy was lovely but peas and gravy don’t make a meal

Went a few weeks ago the food was lovely so we thought we’d go again. Wow, what a disappointment my friend and I both had steak and ale pie on opening the pie mine had three tiny pieces of meat in a huge pie two out of the three were gristle my friend. She only got three pieces of meat but only one piece had gristle. The mashed potatoes with dry needed butter and milk tasted like instant mash. The peas were fine. The gravy was lovely but it was the pie that was the star of the show and it let the meal down we left the Devon feeling hungry

Never had a bad meal there . But last time I was there it wasn't so good . But will go again and see if it's better .

Bit of a lengthy review but I feel like the pub and staff deserve it. Me and my husband used to be regulars at The Devon a couple of years back, we would come in once or twice a week for food throughout the afternoon and 3-4 time a week during the evening for quiet drinks with our usual group of friends, but something went wrong but this is just our opinion, the place started to get quieter and quieter, the atmosphere started to die, the food was always nice but was inconsistent, even though we more or less ordered the same food each visit, it felt like it was always different, but still nice either way, something we can not fault. It felt like the place had been forgot about and nobody cared. We made the decision, not just me and my husband but our little group to start meeting else where and ended up having our usual gatherings at The Brown Cow up the road. After some time The Devon came up in conversation amongst us as we heard that the place had a face lift, a new management team, new staff and a new menu so me and my husband thought we would give it a try and yes our first return visit was very pleasant and very enjoyable. So that we wasn’t under the illusion that this was just a one off we decided to start a slow return a couple of times a week and each visit made us look forward to the next. We love the changes that the pub has made, we enjoy the new menu and I believe the change in staff has really helped bring back a some the happy vibe and atmosphere. Now we have fully returned but do not go out as much due to personal complications but the time we do have out we like to spend at The Devon also as we live very near. We usually come in for food on a Wednesday early afternoon for our Steak meal, the occasional flat bread and then we used to come on a Sunday for our Sunday lunch but you recently stopped this menu so we come in a Saturday late afternoon for whatever tickles our fancy, always something different for me, my partner is all for the Gammon and pineapple. All I can say is we are yet to have a bad meal, portions sizes are good, always piping hot, the only times we’ve had a bit of a moan is when we had to send a steak back to be cooked a little longer as it was bit undercooked but, no big deal it was dealt with quickly and came back out shortly after with fresh sides. Food menu, great affordable prices and great value for your money. The staff are always happy and friendly, even though on an occasions they seemed rushed of their feet, they still manage to provided amazing service and can never do enough for you. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the managers, she introduced herself and was really polite and friendly, she explained that she hadn’t been with the company long and came from a near by local pub, all I will say is keep doing what you are doing. On our most recent visit we managed to have a conversation with the duty manager regarding what was on during the week, what was the best nights to come in etc I felt like I was interrogating him but again very polite and very friendly, he explained what the pub has on during the week and recommended the bingo and quiz night, he also mentioned if we fancied singing you do a dj and karaoke on the weekend. We got on to the conversation of Christmas as we are looking for somewhere to take the family, he handed me a couple of menus and gave me all the information I needed to know. We will get back to you on this. I apologise about the huge review but I believe that recognition goes a long way. In summary, you can see and you notice a massive change in the place, it feels alive and cared about again, we take our hat off to you, keep doing what you are doing and we will see you again very soon. no sunday roast offered so left and whent to another pub that did.so avoid if you want a sunday dinner like me.

Food was lovely. Chips were perfect. Staff were really nice and downy to earth. Even the other customers, locals, were lovely. We live the other side of Leeds but will definitely be going back.
