We were on a canal holiday and this place had been recommended by one of the boatyard staff. The food was as described – good honest food and the quantities and value were really good. The lounge area was like stepping back into the 1970’s and lost this place a star for its lack of ambience. Overall good honest value for money.

Popped into the Bridge Inn for lunch. Friendly service and great food. Traditional pub grub. Huge portions. Will definitely be back

My Husband, Myself and our Teenage Twin Daughters went here for dinner. Steak pie was ok, nothing special. The frozen veg is a big disappointment for me, would be much better with fresh veg. My Daughter had a chicken breast with packet gravy poured over it, again, surely it’s not difficult and more professional for a chef or cook to make home made gravy and fresh veg??? Not a hard chore! The owner sat in the next booth to us not giving a hoot what was going on round about. The menus need upgrading as well, falling apart and very tacky.

What it lacks in style and ambience - you would be forgiven for thinking you were in the office canteen! It more than makes up for in service and food. Friendly staff, good menu choice, child friendly and the Steak Pie, which came recommended, was absolutely delicious. Make sure you enter the premises hungry - the portions are generous! Next time I want steak pie, I know where to come. Booking wasn't necessary on our visit but it was busy.

I took my mum here for mother's Day. We waited about ten minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink. We then waited another ten to order our food. I had the steak pie and my mum had the fish. Both meals were very good. Our empty plates sat on the table for twenty minutes before I had to get up and flag down the waitress to order desert. To summarise, the food was good, the staff were friendly but the service was very poor hence only three score.

Should really have guessed how bad it was going to be when we arrived here. We were the only diners. An awful, permeating stale chip fat smell hardly whets the appetite either. We both ordered chicken curry with rice and chips 5 minutes later, we were advised by the cook that she only had one portion of rice. If we both wanted rice it would take 20 to 30 minutes. My husband said I could have the rice Much microwave pinging later, we were presented with our dinner For a restaurant that advertises home cooked food , this was a sloppy, curry granules excuse of a meal. The curry sauce tasted vile. Add water and stir, bung in some cooked chicken affair. Complete with stodgy rice and frozen chips. I attempted to eat it. My husband had a couple of mouthfuls We decided to leave and get a chippy I went to the bar to pay After a lengthy wait the waitress arrived I said it was the worst meal we had ever had She said, what? I repeated it, slightly louder (the bar area next door was noisy) She said, don’t shout at me. Charming! What was wrong with it, she said Everything, I replied I paid £17.95 This included a drink each I’d suggest cooking proper food, not using curry sauce mix from Bookers, getting rid of the chip pong and charging prices that pays them a wage. It’s obvious they can’t be bothered whether the food is good or not Some customer training wouldn’t go amiss either

Plenty of food on your plate but place smells heavily of fried food. Meals were OK but everything just tasted like it had been fried.

Horrendous from start to finish. Arrived at 1215 and ordered 10mins later. We had a stand-in waitress who was a friend of the manager (this wasn’t explained until we left), who struggled to take our order. Had to ask twice for the child’s drink and food took over 30mins to arrive. The 2nd child’s meal took 40mins - it was loaded fries, so nothing complicated. We asked for our order continuously and no apology given that the child’s meal was served after the adults had finished. The place was freezing - people sitting with jackets on. I asked 3 times for the radiator to go on and was told it was, I was leaning against it and it was frozen. Upon paying we were charged for 2 child’s drinks and called liars when the manager said we asked for 2. Incorrect, we asked for the same one twice as it failed to arrive. No apology, discount etc offered upon paying bill. I said I was really disappointed as have visited more than 10 times in the past year and I wouldn’t return, to which the manager replied “good, we don’t want you back. We have plenty customers”. I’m appalled at her. Maybe if she spent less time smoking at the door she could help her floundering staff. But to say this in earshot of other customers was a big mistake on her part. By the looks of it, this place might be on its way out and I wouldn’t be mad about it. Plenty of other places close by to visit without a side order of attitude.

I have been several times before and it has always been fantastic food. With the current movement restrictions in place they have just delivered to me, amazing. Great service, food is still warm from being made fresh today. Cannot say enough how good it is!

Could hear fabulous singing from the street outside on a cold Sunday January afternoon. Was supposed to be heading home but decided to investigate! Made to feel very welcome by small group of locals/regulars and 2 lovely lady bar staff. Had fab wee hour singing along, dancing and just blethering. Loved the tambourines - we have these for our karaoke too! Will definitely be back, hopefully with friends to enjoy more fantastic Falkirk hospitality. PS Would like to add we were only on soft drinks and thank you to gentleman at bar who paid for them.
