Great atmosphere with lovely food, drinks and a tasty coffee too!

Very nice pub/restaurant. It was pretty busy so that is usually a good sign. I didn't get the chaps name but the waiter we had was very friendly and very professional. I ordered the fish and chips. It was very very nice. If I am ever back in the area I would certainly go here again. When I asked our waiter for the bill he took my napkin and did a Paul Daniels magic trick which turned the napkin into my bill. It was worth the price of the fish and chips just for that. 👍

Myself and my family are from Ayrshire and came across this place before we left and so glad we ate here! Kids meals were great and good value. My husband and I shared 3 starters and main and they were honestly the best food we have had in so long. My husband decided he was still hungry so we had 2 more starters to share!! Amazing! Staff were lovely as well.

I am Absolutely appalled at the way in which I was treated by a member of staff yesterday evening , even today I am still livid. He was actually laughing at me and shaking his head at me. After meeting friends we ended up finishing our first drink and moved on as they were also disgusted .

Sat at a table for over 35 minutes and didn't even get a menu or a drink... Everyone else around got food and drinks. A waitress spoke to one table (I assume friends) for 15 minutes..... Will Never go back

Lovely food and great service. Found this place after a long drive and it was getting late on a Sunday night but we were seated quickly, drinks and order taken quickly and food arrived in a good time to. It was hot and tasty and exactly what we needed after the long drive. Would definitely go again if in the area

Fast service efficient staff and quality food and drink

Amazing food , we had the lunch menu. Chicken & waffle. It was up there with some of best meals I've had. I would highly recommend Behind the Wall. Staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient.

A good meal and excellent service in a lively atmosphere. The meal had too much rice and not enough chilli - the chilli that was there was brilliant, just not enough!

Popped in for dinner on a Wednesday evening, very quiet but the bar staff we interacted with were engaging, helpful and efficient. The food was very good and not expensive. Nice outside area with heaters and we chose to eat in the conservatory area which was very nice. Loos clean and everything clean. Clearly a well run pub which probably gets quite busy. 😃

Always a great place for dinner/drinks but felt the need to leave a review after Behind The Wall saved the day yesterday for a hen do we had. After being let down by another venue on the morning (!!) of the hen do BTW managed to arrange a table to squeeze 16 of us in to catch the end of an event they had on and got us a little area downstairs later on to enjoy our night. Drinks and food were out quick and the staff were amazing as always. Shout out in particular to Lynsey who got it all sorted over various panicked phone calls and made sure we had a great time!

First visit last night, but will be back. Full vegan menu with starters and desserts which had great choices. The service was great, staff so friendly. Will definitely recommend it to my vegan friends.

Very good food an amazing atmosphere and very very funny waiter we had enjoyed our waiter overheard my sisters order and wrote it down then pretend to write it in the air and made it appear on the page.

Lovely food. Great service . Food is delicious and comes out looking great. The cocktails are a must try plus the raspberry lemonade was lush. Thanks to the staff who waited on us as a table of 8. Very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It made for an enjoyable lunch. Thank you!

Excellent and very welcoming service

Overall, it was just a bit "meh". Visited Monday 12.08.2024 evening. Gent who welcomed us was very warm and friendly who took us to the restaurant which was hidden through the back, however we were sat right at the front just passed the bar with view of the pass. It was very cold and loads of tables available further down. Drinks ordered quickly and food not long after that with a different young lad. Upon viewing menu it was interesting to see the price of the food for Falkirk (it was expensive) however sometimes a good sign that its fresh food and excellent quality so we went ahead. Ordered few things just to get the ball rolling then was going to order couple more things. Ordered the Margarita (£11.50), Side of Mini Mac with Candied Bacon (£6.95) and Garlic & Parmesan Fries (£4.50). The pizza really wasn't what you'd expect when you order pizza. It was so thin you couldn't even call it a dough, it was more like a crisp. If this pizza was priced around the £8.00-£9.00 mark for what was received it probably would have been accepted. The mini mac was actually very tasty but with added candied bacon, it was just a very small curled up bit of bacon put on top. Not sliced and mixed through to hide the small portion. Was topped with crispy dough strips I believe which didn't really have a place on this. Perhaps try a garlic & brioche crumb or crushed up frazzle crisps (honestly, try it!) The serving for £6.95 was absolutely tiny. The Garlic & Parmesan Fries were chips in a chip cup with a small sprinkle of seasoning. Again, tasty, but the portion size was what you would expect as the side of chips to come with your burger. We had scranned the lot in about 10 minutes due to the portion size. Didn't receive a check back at all. Once we did finally have service, plates were cleared however we decided against more food just purely due to feeling a little underwhelmed. Ordered a couple desserts- Churros & an Ice Cream Sundae which were fine. The young lad who served us was friendly enough, just not consistent enough with service. We had asked for the bill but someone had come in with a baby which all the team knew and guests were forgotten about and ended up having to ask again. We were never asked how anything was, how food was etc. We tipped purely out of awkwardness to be honest. Possibly I am wrong here with pricing and portion size. We live in Glasgow where I can honestly say you get what you pay for, quality of food, decent portion sizes and decent service. Possibly expecting too much however it was recommended by a friend who lives local but couldn't help but feel underwhelmed. Think with some small changes, it would go along way. I hope this is used as constructive feedback to better things.

Used to be really nice however last twice been in and food not been that great. Everyone I dined with all had diarrhoea and sickness the following day. The waiter with dirty finger nails and a bad smell about him is really off putting too. Wouldn’t visit again which is a shame as I’ve had lots of nice meals and nights out in here perviously.

We did not have a reservation, but we were accommodated very quickly in the conservatory. Service was quick, friendly helpful staff, food was hot and well priced. Great atmosphere and dog friendly.

Best burger in Falkirk. It can be a little loud if you visit later in the day, but it is a great place to visit

Absolutely amazing, best pizza I've ever got! Another said one of the best burgers and somone else said the best nachos they've ever had! I asked for a adults meal but was given a kids but I don't care, it was massive and amazing value for your money, free I cream too! 1000000% percent recommend!

Great food and fantastic service, would definitely recommend. We ate here July 2024 with our children (aged 7 & 9) and we appreciated the recommendations of things to see and do with the kids, which included the Lonely Broomstick. Thanks again.

Visited here twice now, July 2022 and also April 2024, each time, lovely food, staff are professional and engaged with you when ordering and provide recommendation. venue is clean, tidy and as a lovely warm welcoming invite. will definitely be visiting when back in Falkirk again or near by. thank you :-)

~4.5/5 if I could. A great and accommodating western (Tex Mex + a few other options) restaurant with a huge drinks menu. I recommend sit in for large groups and will definitely go again if I am in the area. Me and a group of 10 came walked in and they had a place (not busy at the time). We ordered a few starters and a variety of mains. Feedback was almost completely positive. Starters were good. One friend complained the beef was a little dry on his skewers. Their mac and cheese was among the best I had from restaurants. Very rich and cheesy without being overpowering, salty or pasty. The maple bacon on mine had a sweetness and smokiness that paired well. Their fish and chips and fish loaded fries (the same except the size) were amazing. I am a sucker for good fries and these guys do it well. So crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Fish was crispy, tartar sauce was good wish they gave more. Other items like pizza, loaded nachos, beef & haggis burger were all good with generous portions. A personal complaint is that their southern fried chicken lacked seasoning (though my Scot friend who ordered it greatly enjoyed, I suppose catering to the population in the area is actually a big plus). Desserts were mostly good. I highly recommend the icky sticky (toffee pudding), chocolate brownie and cheesecake. Their caramel is genuine (not from a jar/bottle, probably made in house or just a really good buy) and amazing on the cheesecake. However, the salted caramel brownie barely had any, which was disappointing. It was still a good dessert, just not as good as the others and lacked what the name mentioned. Churros were also nice. They accommodate dietary requirements well, however I am unsure if any of their meat is halal (they serve pork regardless). They have some gluten free and vegan options. We did not order any of the few international items on the menu (better stick to the main theme of the restaurant, we thought). They have a huge drinks and whisky section, and hold whisky tastings. We did not try as we had Muslim friends at the table. However, I do recommend their restaurant for whisky enjoyers.

Courtney a member of Staff had 0 respect for me and my family she refused to give my 7 year old child his ice cream even though it’s part of his kids meal

We just went in for dinner, the food was delicious and fast, portions definitely worth the price. The only downside was the waitress, she had no manners and made us feel very uncomfortable. There were no please or thank yous, she asked “What do you want?” and “What are yous doing?” and it was very abrupt and confrontational in tone. As good as the food was I would avoid dining in because of this experience, maybe would just ask for it takeaway instead if they do that.

A great place to have a get together with friends and family the staff are very helpful and friendly and the place is also dog friendly which is a bonus. The menu is good with a nice selection the burgers were amazing, the pizza I was a little disappointed with it was nice thin and crispy but it doesn't stay warm long and then it became hard to eat everything else we had was great and I would recommend this place for a visit.

As we had already eaten out earlier in the day, we dropped in to share a starter and a pizza. The menu is really good with interesting takes on international food. The barman was friendly and really helpful, the drinks are reasonably priced and there is an extensive range of whiskies. The food was very good and the bar had a good atmosphere. Very happy to recommend this place.

We had been twice in 1 month and we really enjoyed our food. Service was great nice fella. Only thing we were put into the conservatory and it was kinda cold and like sardines. But everything else was top notch.

came here with my boyfriend and had a lovely meal. food was amazing, i only got a side of mac and cheese as i wasn’t that hungry but my partner got ‘between the sheets’ and was easily the best meal i had tasted the whole week he was visiting. staff were very friendly and charismatic and offered takeaway boxes before we even asked. can’t wait to come back :)

the steak between the sheets was absolutely mind blowing, and the portion was impressive, a messy, peppery masterpiece, they even let me take everything that i couldn’t finish! :)

We were tired after whole day of walking out and about the city and dinner at Behind the Wall was a stellar finish of the day! It was the first place where we with our dog were greeted with a welcoming smile. I must say the Fajitas were out of this world too! We also got dirty nachos which surpassed our expectations. Very nice!

Despite being very busy due to football and rugby matches, excellent food and service as always with a special mention for Lynsey and Scott. Highly recommended.

Lovely meal out with family yesterday evening celebrating my dad’s 70th birthday. The service was great, the food was lovely and reasonably priced, restaurant is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. However, the absolute highlight of it all was Lindsay. She was so helpful throughout, even helping me to plan the evening so that everything went smoothly. With my dad already being present in the bar before the family had arrived for the meal, she was key in allowing the whole thing to still be a complete surprise. She checked in with our table throughout, making sure everyone was happy and enjoying their evening and was an absolute god send with my 4 year old son. She completely made his night by taking him to ‘make his own ice cream’. She really made the night what it was, and we could not have pulled it off without her. Will definitely be back for our next big celebration!

Great staff good age mix we did not have food but will next time we visit.

Requested gluten free menu on booking, had to ask for it on arrival! After waiting about 20 minutes we Had to ask to order drinks and our meal! Waited another good 20 minutes before being told EVERY meal is seasoned with pepper!!! (Which I have an intolerance to) Was offered basics like chips, nachos with cheese or garlic pizza bread. Asked to speak to a manager who was most unhelpful!! I now know I need to phone a week in advance to advise of intolerances!! Explained I already looked at the menu online where none of the dishes state they are seasoned with pepper!! My friend and I came up with solutions which were dissed!! In the end we said we would leave it, and we were told to pay for our drinks! Not even offered a complimentary drink for the inconvenience and a bad attitude by the manager or head waitress!! An hour of our day wasted! Will not be back!!

Gave two stars for the staff as they were great, good service and friendly. We met friends for dinner and food was not good, didn’t think you could go wrong with pup grub! Chips were lukewarm and not crispy, a thimble size pot of coleslaw on side, I wouldn’t have bothered! Ordered a glass of Prosecco for £6 half a glass and flat! Would go back for a drink but we all agreed would not eat there again which is a shame as Falkirk has very limited places to eat.

A bit tight for time as we were gigging close by at Falkirk Blues Club, we received very efficient service from some really friendly and attentive staff.The menu is extensive, pizzas, burgers etc but we went for excellent Chicken and beef fajitas with tortillas and a side of Sweet potato fries.We also had some deep fried creamy cheese Poppers.Somewhat like unspiced Pakora.Very savoury and delicious. The restaurant was very busy and has a warm welcoming ,cosy atmosphere .Price was £64 for 4 people. Very reasonable for such quality fare.

The staff was very friendly and helpful even though my group was very large. they allowed people with dogs to keep them indoor and offered a water bowl for them. Plenty options for vegans as well.

I've been here a few times for drinks but this was my first time eating. Wow! The food is amazing. 6 of us for a work meal. Starters: 5 had the Haggis Chimmi (all were very impressed). I had the Nduja Doughballs. The Doughballs are some of the nicest I've ever had. Really soft and tasty. The Nduja side was also incredible; really meaty and not like the paste type. Mains: I can't fully remember what the others had (Burgers and Buddha Bowls) but they were happy. I had the Hot Porky pizza and made it a double decker. I was expecting there to be too much flavour going but it was fantastic. The first time I've heard of a double decker pizza; it's the future.

First time of eating here and it won’t be the last. Excellent.

We booked our table for our Christmas night out for food and drinks , Our employer gave us a £540 cheque between 10 of us to have a good night. I Booked behind the wall for 4pm for dinner and drinks. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff really looked after us at the start of the night. I must admit thought I was disappointed that after a few hours we were asked to leave as they needed the table back and if anyone wanted a pudding we had 20 mins to eat it. We still had £200 behind the bar for what we thought was the rest of the night. They did transfer the tab to the main bar however it was rather full and we struggled to get served ( its Christmas I understand the bar would be busy) that's why i booked a table. I think its maybe worth mentioning to customers who book that during peak times your table time will be limited , I get this is normal in some places however we would have made alternative arrangements for the rest of the night if this was the case.

Great food. Friendly service and an all around pleasant place to enjoy your Friday evening whether it's for a meal or a few drinks. Between the sheets was absolutely delicious!

If there’s one thing you can guarantee at BTW, it’s consistency. I can’t remember the last bad meal I’ve had in here. The good quality continued tonight with some Homemade Steak Chilli and Sizzling Steak Fajitas. Fajitas are always a good measure of a restaurant’s quality. Easy to make, but could easily be bog standard. BTW go the extra mile, packing in plenty of fragrant flavours and a good stack of wraps to go with that big dish of steak and veg. Also a good amount of salsa, guacamole and sour cream. Perfecto! The chilli had big flavour, and excellent chunks of beef. A little dry, if I had any complaints, but very very tasty. Finished it off with Sweet Nachos! Can’t go wrong there, and big enough to share! Food was great and service was spot on. Price is slightly high I think, but wouldn’t stop me coming back again.

I went out with my sisters for lunch and ended up in BTW we are so glad we did the food was amazing but the singing waiter was what made it all the more special would recomend it to anyone and will definitely be back .

Good food,great atmosphere ,helpful staff

This establishment doesn't have an alternative to natural suger. E.g cantered or sweet and low. Pre diabetics or diabetics be aware unless you take something with you. The manager today could not be any less interested. Very passive aggressive, condescending and patronising. Never been a fan but would not go back even if food and drink were free.

BTW has improved dramatically. Food great, the staff are brilliant and their beer is much improved. The alehouse is back to its former glory. Like the link with Falkirk FC. We visit after taking in a local game of football.

Thursday date night dinner after my partner's return from holiday. Friendly, welcoming staff. Shared a great Loaded Southern Fried Halloumi, followed by a duo of Hillbilly Steak Chilli & Crispy Chicken Buddha Bowls. Great taste from both and very filling. All washed down with a couple of Peronis. Enjoyed a fine whisky in the bar (once I'd been able to identify one from the great selection, as mood lighting hides the labels and the bar staff struggled to find a Speyside Malt. A hard copy list would help)

We were staying in Scotland in Moffat but had a fabulous day out in Falkirk. Having ridden the Falkirk Wheel and seen the Kelpies in the daylight, we decided to have dinner before returning to the Kelpies after dark to see them illuminated. We wanted some dinner so went to Behind The Wall. We were served by Mark, who was extremely attentive and very witty and amusing. We had 4 different meals and each one was really lovely. Mark continued to amuse us throughout the meal but not at the expense of his waiter duties. All in all it was a lovely experience of food and good service and we all remarked how good it was. All the staff were good but hats off to Mark who was ace.

Always a great meal with the family and superb atmosphere on a Saturday night.

Si tenéis paladar, no vengáis!!! Caro y malo. Pedimos nachos(de bolsa, queso fundido que era como plástico y salsa de tomate de bote) y una hamburguesa(la carne estaba hervida), no pedimos postre por razones obvias. Que no os engañen los buenos comentarios, es todo una mentira.

Was welcomed from the minute we stepped inside, as was our dog, very dog friendly. Food delicious & would highly recommend the haggis popcorn & the crispy chicken Buddha bowl was delicious. Staff friendly, would highly recommend.

We visited for lunch and were served by Kirstin who was utterly delightful, welcoming us warmly with a big smile and a very pleasant disposition. Food was really good and the service was excellent. We were disappointed that alcohol prices had increased by more than 10% since our last visit. This is a really good place to visit and we are regulars every Friday afternoon for drinks but no more for us as it’s just too expensive now. Remember you are in Falkirk, not Glasgow or Edinburgh. The rating reflects the high prices for drinks.

Get the feeling that staff love there job here. Staff are so lovely, and keen to service well to all customers. Food is great too.

Not brilliant but not bad. Service a bit stretched so not as tentive as you would expect.

We were seated quickly but service when taking orders was poor. The starter came fairly quickly where our mains took almost an hour. The mains were tasteless and chewy the burger tasted of nothing (a lava burger as well) the chips were cold the drinks were obviously near the end of the draft as they tasted off and flat, we ended up leaving the whole meal. Waitress took our plates away without asking how the food was and never bothered to give us the bill we waited another 20-30 mins before flagging another waitress down and stated how we weren’t happy with the food they said they would get the manager but turned out he was clearly too afraid to come and speak to us as he told the waitress to just give us “10% off”. Will definitely not be back and this was after giving it a second try…
