We had 2 bacon rolls and 2 coffees for less than a tenner. The crusty rolls and bacon were delious and excellent value. The staff are happy, friendly and helpful. This is the first time we've ever been in and we'll definitely be back.

The members of staff took a while to take my order even tho there was only 1 other customer in the shop and also after taking my order they then served another customer the items I had just asked for whilst being very amused about doing so. Very much doubt I’ll be returning

Every time I've been in there, the ladies in there have been so rude, you'd think with working in a Shop they'd have people skills. I went in with my partner a while back to get breakfast as we like the food there, the old lady came in, I said good morning, nothing, the younger lady came in, she was just really rude and seemed like she couldnt be bothered. Totally unacceptable, won't be spending my money there ever again, appalling customer service.

I have used The Bread Basket several times now when visiting Thrapston. The food is always excellent and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Last week I had a Very tasty sausage and egg roll & a cup of tea which I paid for by card without looking at the price. I was later surprised to see that it cost £5.60 which seems a bit steep. I therefore suggest asking to see the breakfast menu before ordering so that you know the prices. Regarding Mr Why’s comment about staff not wearing gloves: Firstly, most people pay by contactless. Secondly, I would rather they sanitised or washed their hands each time after touching cash than using endless environment unfriendly gloves and constantly throwing them away or touching cash and cakes with the same gloves. Thirdly, the premises has hand sanitiser available for customers and staff with a sign reminding customers to use it, it is exceptionally clean and I think giving a 1🌟 Review is exceptionally mean.

Woman serving using bare hands to pick up cakes, then handling cash, no hygiene at all expecially whilst there is covid 19 going around! Not on!

Unfortunately we decided to use Delicious for a home delivery of stuffed crust Pizza, Chicken kebab with all the salad and a portion of salted chips. The total cost was £31.39. Delivery was stated as 45 mins, we had to wait 1.5 hours. What we received can only be described as the worst takeaway food we have ever had. The chips were hard luke warm and dry without any seasoning on, the pizza had virtually no sauce on the base and the pepperoni and donna meat was so dry that it was like chewing cardboard. The final insult was the chicken kebab. It was slavered in chilli sauce that looked like it had been put on with a shovel, it was absolutely everywhere. The salad consisted of a few limp faded green peppers, a single slice of onion, mashed up lettuce all floating in water. We called delicious to complain and asked for a refund. All we were offered was a replacement salad. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. If you use delicious you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. We will never eat this garbage again... Thanks Delicious great customer care. Not!

We arrived at around 2pm, with the café half full, and everything initially seemed fine. We were greeted warmly by one of the waiters and seated promptly. After choosing our food, we placed our order. However, we ended up waiting over an hour and fifteen minutes for the food to arrive! There was a clear lack of care from the chefs in the back, who spent most of the time standing around, joking, and laughing. Hot food was left under the heat lamp for up to ten minutes, waiting for other dishes to be prepared. My partner’s chicken Caesar salad arrived after an hour, while I continued to wait for my panini. I was told it would be another five minutes, but those five minutes came and went – and then another five minutes passed. When my panini finally arrived, the waitress slammed it down without a word of apology. There was no offer of additional drinks, no acknowledgment of the fact we had to eat separately, and a complete lack of customer care throughout. As for the food quality, it was mediocre at best. My partner’s poached egg, having sat under the heat lamp, had essentially turned into a hard-boiled egg. The overall lack of flavour and poor presentation reflected the indifferent atmosphere in the café. I would strongly advise choosing another place to eat when visiting Rushden Lakes. There are far better options where your money will be better spent.

Seeing as my review was removed I will try again! Stay away. I went to the so called “quiz night” and it was awful. You would have found a better atmosphere in a morgue. Hardly any there, no music, vile smell and it was dirty. I use to frequent the pub before lockdown and it was fantastic. It has apparently changed hands since and not for the better. I will definitely not be going back. The smell and filth were enough to put me off my beer let alone dreary feel to the place. Very sad to say that I will not be recommending a once lovely pub
