The Brasserie in South Lakeland

Awful! We have been here quite a few times to have lunch in the garden. Always been good. Not on our final trip. The food we received was not what we ordered. Seeing as we were the only ones there I found it confusing how they could get it so wrong. We were asked to pay for the meal before we were served it. We complained and said we will go elsewhere as they were so slow. We asked for our money back and we got rude comments muttered under their breath. We will never go back which is ashame as it was once really lovely and the food yummy. Not any more. I've given one star for the carpark chap who was very pleasant.

Excelente comida bien preparada y cocinada, una buena elección en el menú desde los entrantes hasta los postres y el personal fue muy servicial.

Recientemente almorcé en esta brasserie que se encuentra en un hotel muy elegante con magníficas vistas sobre el lago. Mi comida estaba bien cocinada y llena de sabor. El vino tenía un precio razonable para un establecimiento de lujo.

Estábamos en un viaje en barco alrededor del lago y vimos el hotel, leímos el menú y decidimos tomar la caminata larga debido a la vista sobre Windermere. Al llegar, a un restaurante casi vacío, el camarero, habiendo comprobado que no teníamos una reserva, procedió a mostrarnos una mesa en la que ambos habíamos visto nada más que una pared interior. Rechazamos y finalmente conseguimos una mesa con vista parcial al lago. Pedimos dos entrantes cada uno. Cuando mi souffle llegó estaba tibio en el mejor de los casos, pero cuando lo probé, la camarera había desaparecido en la cocina y ninguno de los otros camareros estaba cerca. No estaba seguro de qué hacer. Si no comía más, era imposible demostrar cómo había llegado, ya que pronto se enfrió y pude haber comido lentamente, así que comí un poco más y, finalmente, el camarero apareció y preguntó por nuestras comidas. Le conté sobre el soufflé. Me preguntó qué quería hacer. Dije que no lo sabía. Habría esperado una disculpa y haberla deducido de la factura. Dijo que hablaría con el chef. Volvió a decir que me harían una nueva. Dije que realmente no quería dos entrantes idénticos y todavía tengo otro curso en orden. Estaba convencido de que debería repetir la actuación y eso es lo que sucedió. El souffle estaba caliente a la llegada pero pronto se enfrió ya que el tazón al que llegó no se había calentado, o si lo había hecho, se había enfriado cuando el camarero lo recogió. Acabo de masticar una segunda comida tibia y no dije nada. (¡No quería un tercero!) Para entonces, he cancelado mi próximo curso. Era el calamar. Esto no le fue bien al camarero. Parecía que el chef ya había empezado a cocinarlo, lo cual es extraño ya que el segundo souffle tomó 6 minutos para cocinar y los calamares no toman tiempo para cocinar, por lo que habría pensado que el chef hubiera esperado hasta que yo hubiera terminado mi segundo souffle, como mi El compañero y yo teníamos calamares. Llegó a mitad del segundo soufflé. Esto fue todo un completo desastre. Cuando pedimos la factura, el camarero dijo que había deducido el calamar de la factura. Le di las gracias y le dije que era amable, pensando que se refería al calamar de mi compañero, ya que su comida también estaba echada a perder. Cuando miré la factura, él había cobrado a mi compañero por la suya, pero dedujo mi calamar que había cancelado y que nunca había tenido de todos modos. Nuestro barco se debía. Pagamos y nos fuimos. No volveremos. El gerente adjunto del hotel ha dicho en respuesta a otras quejas que al hotel le gusta que se le informe de los problemas en ese momento. Esto es lo que hice. El personal claramente no tiene idea de cómo lidiar con esas cosas.

Noté que no hay revisiones recientes de este restaurante, probablemente porque esta página de revisión requiere mucho esfuerzo para encontrarlo. ¡De todos modos hice el esfuerzo porque tuve un almuerzo tan encantador! Mi esposo y yo tomamos a un viejo amigo de la familia y ella había sugerido este lugar. Tuve el pollo Schnitzel Cumbria y mis dos compañeros tenían pescado y patatas fritas y postres. Cumbria y schnitzel no parecían una combinación probable, pero como amo Schnitzel, suspendí mi escepticismo y fui recompensado con una deliciosa comida perfectamente preparada. El pescado estaba muy bien preparado, generosa porción, patatas fritas no está mal. ¡Muy agradable!

Had lunch as we was sorting details for my daughters forecoming wedding. Food was excellent, I had haddock which was well cooked and very tasty. My wife and daughter had sandwiches which were well presented and with really lovely bread and vegetable crisps plus side portion of chunky chips. Our other daughter had a cumbrian burger on brioche again really good. If honest main meals are not cheap but sandwiches are very good value but the room as great view of the lake and staff are very good.

stopped for a quick bite to eat, prices inline with the rest of the area, not cheap but neither is anywere else in the area, food was good quality as expected, quick service too

Lovely little treat with the most amazing views over the lake. Only downside is there wasn't many staff on so the service was slow but i did not mind as I was enjoying day dreaming out on the lake :)

We atea here after visiting the hotrl to book my daughters wedding, Very nice menu choice, I had cumbrian lamb hotpot. Not cheap but nicely cooked and very filling. My daughter had belly pork and her partner a lovely piece of haddock. Staff pleasant,room nicely furnished if if you have a window seat a great view.

Dined twice here while staying in hotel. Delicious food, friendly, attentive service by lovely staff in attractive room with doors out into gardens where food and afternoon teas can be ordered too with lovely views over lake. Gluten Free menu also available with good choice.

Housed in the Belsfield, the Brasserie is a relaxed dining venue with fantastic lake views. Our server (Karen) was personable, attentive and efficient. Food was very good. Apps of beet and goat cheese salad along with heirloom tomatos were delicious. Mains of roast chicken with rosti potatoes and haddock (fish and chips) with mushy peas were equally delectable. Given the hotel arrangement, thought the prices were quite reasonable. Would return.

The Brasserie Restaurant located in the Belsfield Hotel, is definitely one to watch, it's superb location in super smart hotel, with amazing high views over Lake Windermere. It was a bit let down on the evening we visited, understaffed which seem to cause a struggle for service. Place although having massive potential was also only 20% full. Interesting I had one of the best Starters here this year, a Smoked Haddock Scotch Egg, brilliant! This place has potential once they get things right, definitely worth watching!
