We went today for Sunday lunch. This is the worst Sunday dinner we have ever had. The mash (if that’s what you call it) wouldn’t even be served to prisoners, it had a skin on it and had more lumps than mashed. Carrots were stale, infact the only nice bit on the plate was the meat and Yorkshire. I waited until they came to clear our plates before letting them know the dinner was awful and the worst we’ve ever had! The waitress heard me but didn’t even acknowledge me, just cleared the plates and sent someone else with the bill straight away. I have been a couple of times previously and ate from the normal menu with no issues but certainly won’t be returning ever again. As you can see the majority of the dinner was left… and yes that’s a dandelion in it too 🤢 Everything in the picture was left and more and yet they weren’t even bothered, service was ok up until then! Avoid At all cost for Sunday lunch!

Another visit to a different Sambuca in our area did not let us down. This was one of the best visits we have had to any. This was due to the friendly, accommodating waiting on staff and the lovely freshly cooked food. We only had main courses, all chicken dishes but 3 different ones, all the same quality and flavours. All delicious. Hand cut chips and a selection of veggies were also of a high standard. The prices in any Sambuca are always competitive ( by that I mean cheap ) and of a great standard. They have got their market just right everywhere in all of their restaurants we have been to. £46 for 3 drinks and 3 main courses was excellent value for quality food, delivered by young polite lads and lasses. Just great.

We ordered a Sunday lunch to take out. It has got to be the best Sunday lunch I have had in years. Beautifully cooked, the lamb was very tender, all the veg were cooked to perfection with a good rich gravy. Large portions of everything, completely stuffed and happy. I would definitely have another takeaway from here. The takeaway is every bit as good as the eat in option.

Well I shall start this off with my total upset at the whole experience I often visit sambuca but won't be visiting this one again. First of all we odered muscles in a tomato and chilly sauce and what come was lemon and butter sauce that was returned and tomato was just added that made them taste to the point you point you couodnt really eat them then come the fillet steak the main with chunky chips that where equivalent to a crack heads teeth the where just so hard and jaggared the vinegar wouldn't even take to them and you couldn't even eat them the fillet had a very strange taste to it as if it was left out just didnt taste right at all well to be honest thst was my first and last time ill be visiting this place what a regret I wish I never tried the place.

What can I say food was average some starters where disappointing , meals was good but my partners and sisters steak was not cooked properly but the biggest disappointment was the service we had to wait a very long time to place our orders in which a table alongside us was sat down after us and had their first course and was waiting for their second course by the time we had to shout for someone to come over, and when one of the fellas eventually came over/ we asked him to take our order!! Went with my wife for a surf and turf. As usual the steak and seafood was very tasty, however my vegetables were hot (burnt) on top but near ice cold on the bottom! They were sent back to be blasted in the microwave which I heard! Service was not the best either, I will go back but I won’t have the vegetables, it’ll be the salad.

We decided to check out the Sunday Carvery at this establishment after earing good reviews from friends. We arrived unannounced at 12:40 and were immediately asked if we had booked, no we hadn't, that's ok says the waiter just take a seat until I find a table & off he went. 10 minutes later a different waiter came to us and showed us to a table at the rear of the pub/restaurant opposite the entrance door, which meant every time anyone entered they were followed by a cold blast of air! Now I don't know if they put additional tables and chairs in on a Sunday but you do get really close to the people on the next table, close enough to hear every word spoken even when trying your best not to listen. The advertised price for starter & main course is £7.95, admittedly a great price, however when the waitress came to take our order she didn't ask if we wanted potato skins or soup ( The advertised choice of starters) She asked if we wanted starters, was I wrong to assume if we didn't want them the price may be cheaper? We replied we just wanted the mains so she took the order and left. We approached the carvery counter where the yorkshire puddings are piled high o, n top of the heat lamp shelf above the bain-marie pans, sadly this means they are not hot when you help yourself to them (Admittedly you can have as many as you want!) There was a choice of 3 types of meat, beef, belly pork or chicken, for the price you get a fair helping, then you help yourself to peas, mash, cabbage, swede and rather pale looking roast spuds. The hot pans with the gravy are placed on the counter alongside the stuffing balls and condiments, but I feel the pans are too high for those who are vertically challenged and may lead to hot gravy being spilt. It was value for money, it was not anything special, it was overcrowded and finally, no it was not any cheaper if you just have the carvery.

Family of four adults we arrived and were pointed in the direction of the waiting area then as we literally sat down got sent back to the table we had just walked past. The waitress took our order and she was fine. The food arrived a mix of pasta, pizza and steak. All slightly overdone but as Italian goes it was passable ( we are from an Italian background). We waited for our table to be cleared and asked for dessert menus from a very obnoxious older waiter. The menus never arrived so I went looking for some. I finally got some and we waited again with no service. Decided to just go and get my own bill from the bar and pay. We then had dessert around the corner at the village hotel. Where the staff even smile. Disappointed in the hospitality of this place. My first time at a sambuca chain and wont bother again if they are that obnoxious.

First of all the food was great no problem, but the staff are just a bit strange. My son choked on his calamari and the staff coped well. The problem was when my other son pretended to choke when the plates were collected. I admit it wasn't funny even though his intentions were good (lighten the mood).. but the waiters reaction was really poor. It looked like he was ready for fight and the intimidation factor after that was terrible. His anger was clear to see and if we could have walked we would. Thankfully another table started to choke (not kidding) which took the attention away from us. At the end of the meal whilst walking out the older waitress (bit of a character) started to dance up against my 14 year old son! His reply "It's past my bedtime" was a great reply and I know she was having fun but it was just slightly inappropriate. It was a crazy night which I probably will never forget. I won't be back..

Attended this venue on a wet Tuesday afternoon , this was our first visit but as we enjoy other local sambucas we thought let's give it a go. Right from the off I knew we had made a mistake , firstly this is basically a grubby failing pub that has had a lick of paint and had the old pub wallpaper painted over , carpets cleaned and a quick facelift. I was more Italian than the waiter who rudely started seating another party whilst taking my partner's order he was abrupt and somewhat chav like. The food was ok although we have had alot better in other sambuca venues there was also a hair in my partner's food and my deep fried haggis was discussing all in all a poor venue poor effort and shabby surroundings, we won't be back.

Brilliant service and Quality have been visiting this place about 10+ times now, and was a regular at the Percy Main Sambuca too which is also 5* Sambuca for service and quality too, but due to road works off the coast road we tried this Sambuca instead. It's a little extra on the menu price compared to the Percy main, but not too much, but I think this is down to the big Pizza oven on show, which produces higher quality pizza and bread experience to that of the Percy Main which were nice, but the Pizza oven is that little extra (LUSH). my only negative is the size of the place and can be cramped in when full, and you'll need to start booking as the last couple of times the restaurant has been full on a number of times. The draft Birra Moretti is a must, Pizza's are LUSH, all Chicken dishes and all starters are LUSH...

We went for the set menu and both had pasta. All cooked beautifully and the prawns were a decent size. All in all a good visit and you really can't go wrong for the price

We have visited Sambucas four times now for their carvery on a Sunday. 3 courses for 7.95 and the quality is excellent. There are four choices of meat and the serving is huge. The lamb is so tender and juicy and not fatty like in some places. We have also been for pizza which is also spot on. Would definitely recommend it and we will continue to return.

£4.95 for 3 courses during happy hour. Potato skins or soup to start followed by any pizza or pasta, and then either ice cream or coffee. Really quick service and very convenient for anyone on Cobalt.

Had an early dinner here and was glad we did as the place was filling up as we finished and the tables are quite close together. A large family group were settling in as we left and the noise level was getting quite high.

Lives up to the standard of all the sambuccas. We are regular attenders of the Embleton and Morpeth Sambucca. We went to this new Sambucca last week in a party of 10. I can honestly say it was the best sambucca meal I have had and that takes something to beat the Embleton sambucca. Service great. Not rushed.....will be back.

Went with a number of friends one evening and had a great meal. A number of us had steaks, a lot of them had to be cooked differently and they were all perfect. Chef is called Shearer and he cooked like a demon to produce great meals for all of us.

We visited this restaurant last night hoping for it to be as good as the excellent Sambucas in Forest Hall. Alas it wasn't to be. It's a bit cramped and lacking atmosphere. The starters were average at best, it would be hard to make a mess of garlic mushrooms and prawn cocktail.

This was our first visit to this Sambucas. Lovely welcome and seated straight away. We chose spicy calamari starters, calamari was very tender and served in a lovely sauce. My hubby is a great lover of Calzone and has a special restaurant for this dish and up to now he has never found anywhere to match it, until this one, the filling was plentiful and well seasoned-he has a new favourite! I chose the spicy meatballs from the specials menu and thoroughly enjoyed them. We will definitely be going back

We stumbled past this restaurant on our travels in Newcastle. Only round the corner from the hotel we were staying at. Excellent value for money and I must say one of the tastiest pizzas I've had! Light crispy thin base with ample topping. The carbonara was also delicious. Not drowned in sauce which I love with a generous helping of Parmesan cheese. Jolly staff and nice wine....what's not to love for less than a fiver! Bellissimo!

As a regular contributor to TripAdvisor I always try my best to give a positive review of where I (we) have visited, unfortunately no matter how hard I try, I can just about justify not giving it a one star (terrible) review.

Went today for the lunch time special. It just looks like the old pub but with a oven etc at one side. The tables are pretty close together so don't go for romantic meal or the people next to you will hear!! The restaurant was also so cold, everyone kept their coats on!

Staff are lovely dearer than other sambucas very busy with Beeing New. The deserts are amazing. Had a slight problem with the mains but this was because so busy and they were running out of meals, put this down to newness think over time they will correct it. Worth another try, good atmosphere.

Went for tea last Friday, food was lovely, service from most of the staff excellent, especially the young lady who served us.The table layout is very tight. The manager was very direct to his staff at times! This made me slightly uncomfortable, however will definitely go back.

I visit this place once a month if not more frequent. Great staff always helpful, great attitude towards customers and very friendly. I would suggest booking on a Sunday as it is always very busy.

Popped in for a quick meal before going to the cinema. I am gluten free so checked in advance to see if they did gluten free pizza which they did. Service was excellent, very efficient and fast. I ordered tuna and garlic on gluten free pizza base and it was excellent. There was the usual coeliac tax to get the base gluten free. This was an additional £3 but given the normal pizzas were so cheap the overall cost wasn't as bad as some places. Pizza was brilliant and huge, served super quick. My partner who eats gluten commented that they would not have realised that it was gluten free. His pizza which was a diabolo was also great. We will be back.

My Husband and I visited here last night but have been before on a number of occasions. We had a cheesy garlic bread between us and I had a creamy penne dish and my husband had his usual, chicken risotto, which he loves. My compliments to the chef, who always produces delicious, outstanding food which goes for the garlic bread too, so soft and tasty. Pleasant staff, giving good service and value for money.
