Always lots of people. Always lots of wasps outside. Food is edible but the price is high. Staff are overworked. Orders come slow. But the terrace outside is not a bad place to view the cars if they are driving past.

Terrible experience. Huge queue, and only when getting to the front do you discover that you need a table (and number) to order. Impossible to do when it's crazy busy unless you have another adult with you to sit and hold the table! Expensive coffee, no surprise, but the cup was served half full!! Expensive half cup of coffee! Expensive mediocre food, with very fiew gluten free options (soup or baked potato). The staff are very good, polite and helpful, but totally overwhelmed. Bring a packed lunch!

Although I've always found the brabazon a little expensive for food and usually just had a coffee on past visits . Today was pleasantly surprised to see it'd had a very lovely make over and now looks very inviting. On ordering a coffee I was extremely disappointed to see all the cakes out and uncovered. I'd usually have a slice of Victoria sponge to complement my coffee but was somewhat put off by this new display being fanned by a couple of fans to only what imagine we're there to try and keep flies away but that wouldn't stop the cakes from being coughed and sneezed over rather than the previous refrigerated cabinet display..

£3.80 each for a disgusting, watery hot chocolate. They were all made with hot water and powder rather than milk. They were not stirred so there were lumps of powder at the bottom. We won't make the mistake of eating or drinking here again.

Beaulieu is an amazing place but the restaurant really lets it down. Expensive and the burger was very shallow and pedantic. Seen more appetising road kill. staff where nice but the food.... Think I'll starve next time.

Terrible food and expensive. Ordered the £12.50 "Classic Burger", I assume it had been laying around somewhere for a while and mildly reheated, was solid very overcooked and cold, the chunk of pale tomato was bigger than the burger. I have never taken food back before, but this was beyond bad, I got a refund and went hungry. Wife's Mac and cheese was mediocre at best, the kids chips were petite for £4.50 each. The garlic bread was oily but at least edible. Near £50 for four of us with drinks. The server dropped the cutlery in my coffee, got new cutlery but didn't replace my coffee. The Mc Donald's on the way home was far far superior in every way, and less than half the price. Beaulieu was wonderful, the restaurant appalling. Next visit we are taking a packed lunch.

Clean and modern restaurant with decent food at a reasonable price. It is too noisy for me when it is busy. But fine when less busy. Similarly the serving staff cannot cope at busy times and the queue became very long and slow.

Wasn’t too bad, the QR CODE order system unfortunately did not work for us nor for many people, we did arrive after lunch so not a huge queue. 20 min wait for our food seemed reasonable. Kids ate up everything! Bill came to £40 including drinks for 4 people

how can such a awful restaurant exist inside such lovely surroundings, waiter didnt bother to clean our table from the customers who sat before us, food was cold, they got our order wrong, online self ordering service is dreadful considering you have no signal to begin with! so we went through the fuss of registering to the free wifi to find out the self order app didnt work anyway. Possibly the worst place to eat that I have ever visited.

Waited an hour for a mac and cheese. Was cold, runny and tasted like water. Put some salt on it and then it tasted like salt water instead. Table was dirty and they didn’t have any spray or cloths for us to wipe it ourselves

Had a cold drink and a cake here after a long day visiting Beaulieu. The cake was homemade, fresh and very good. My husband also tried a cake which was delicious too. However we haven’t tried the restaurant we were just here for a little snack.

Mediocre meal: Leathery-skinned jacket, small side salad with mean tuna-mayo filling. Mocha luke warm and tasted of plastic! Disappointing overall - lets down an otherwise good day out. Untrained staff. Get your act together Beaulieu!

What a poor cafe in such a lovely place. Surely they could do better when everything on the Estate is so good. Cold frosty morning so asked what breakfast items were available told very curtly none. Lovely big space should have been good but certainly wasn't. Take a picnic

Absolutely disgusting. Worst place I've ever eaten. £4.50 for an almost frozen ham and cheese roll that was tasteless and definitely past its eat by date. Coffee horrible and the shortbread biscuit was the dryest stodgyiest thing I've ever tried to eat. Avoid at all costs

Horrible food. The hot pot had one piece of meat in it, the mash was like powder made mash and overall it was just a bad £10 ready meal. The fish and chips were atrocious, overcooked fish and rock hard batter, more batter than fish too! Kids fish and chips also has no vegetables which is very shameful, it should include peas at the very least, the fish for kids was just as bad as the adult portion too. 3 quid for half a cup of coffee too. I feel violated.

Needed some food after exploring the museum for a while. The restaurant is tidy and looks good but the menu is rather poor. It doesn't offer much for vegans or vegetarians. Not a single vegan sandwich. The only two options were jacket potato or chips. The coffee is OK. The lemon loaf from the deserts is also vegan and supper yummy. All on all, if you are desperate for something to eat, this is your only choice however, I would highly suggest to bring your own food and have a nice picnic in the gardens if the weather is good.

Great food, reasonably priced with very friendly and helpful staff. I had the chickpea, butternut squash & coconut curry which was delicious, and so was the ice-cream.

We had two meals at this restaurant/café having visited on two days as he site has free return within 6 days. On the first visit we had a snack lunch: a toasted sandwich and a bowl of soup, both delicious. The area is confusing. from the entrance through which we arrived the sandwich bar is nearest. We saw an offer for soup and a sandwich for a set price but there was no sign of soup. While my husband waited for the sandwich to be toasted, which took quite a long time as each side is done separately, I wondered ahead and found the hot food bar. This is screened by the sandwich bar from our chosen entrance. I bought 2 soups and we paid separately, so are still not clear how people obtain the special offer in fact another customer was trying to do just that. On our 2nd visit we planned to have a hot meal and we now knew the layout. It was delicious. Sadly, we then thought we'd have some ice cream, which is from another, quite separate and unattended, bar. I asked a member of staff about it and he promised to return and serve me. I waited … while he passed me twice; I pulled a chair over and sat on it … As he was about to pass me yet again, I called him and he then came and served me. On neither occasion was the restaurant/café busy, it being a very cold, very early January day. The food is good but allow plenty of time; O, and check the layout for all options.

I live locally so have visited before, taking various friends and family as the setting is so pretty and the walk from Beaulieu a pleasant way to work up an appetite. I've never found the pub at the Master Builders to be anything other than expensive, sometimes grubby, with a very limited menu and overall a not very customer focussed experience, but I've never got round to reviewing before. And always hoped it might improve! But enough is enough.....today we ordered the tomato bruschetta , which, for 10 quid, one might have thought would be a teensy bit more interesting than a chopped tomato on a piece of dried toast. ONE piece of toast...an uninspired tomato...no hint of the promised balsamic dressing that I could discern..no apparent olive oil rubbed into toast. Awful. Eat here if you are on a diet and want to feel ripped off. Better to take a picnic and sit on the tables down by the river. This pub leaves a sour taste and treats customers like idiots.

We arrived for lunch and weren’t sure which way to enter the restaurant. There is a front door but no sign or anything intimating it was the main entrance or whether it was the door for the hotel or the restaurant or both; so we opted for the side gate but still weren’t sure if we were going the correct way. Still not sure whether we had entered the restaurant via the correct route we were seated quickly and my young daughter needed the bathroom: we went to the bathroom leaving my partner at the table and by the time we came back there were still no menus on the table. I did wonder if it was the start of things to come. However, thankfully, I was wrong. Everything after that was seamless. Service was good and food was great. My partner had the burger, I had eggs Benedict and my daughter had pizza. My only personal preference with the eggs Benedict would be to have a thick slice of ham, but as I say, that’s my personal preference. All the food was good quality. We liked the seating arrangements too; tables weren’t squeezed in and there was plenty of space between tables. We’ve already recommended this place to friends and family and will return ourselves in the area.
