We visited The Boot for some small bites for lunch, and we were not disappointed. We ordered some bar snacks and they were absolutely beautiful, the calamari was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the pork belly had lots of meat which is a surprise as most places just have pork belly which consists of mainly fat! The inside is beautifully done, giving a lovely pub feel. We will definitely be back!

We travelled from Kent to visit family who live in the village, who wanted to take us to The Boot and we were not disappointed! The food was outstanding and the service was unbelievable. Jake cooked our duck to order which was a lovely personal touch. Thank you for a great meal to all the Staff.

Visited after being recommended by a local and the pub kindly squeezed us in for Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere and the staff were great, can’t fault the service whatsoever. Sadly the food didn’t meet our expectations; intact it was possibly the worst roast dinner we’d ever had. The roast beef and pork sliced wafer thin and looked reheated, the vegetables were either over cooked or raw and just two roast potatoes per person. The Yorkshire puddings were the best bit. We fed this back to our waitress who assured us the kitchen would be told, we were also kindly offered a coffee as an apology, but we’d decided by this point to find somewhere else for pudding. It was a great disappointment and bad ending to such a good weekend away.

We visited the Boot for lunch and thought it was charming, with a lovely bright interior. A really nice feature wall with clocks and mirrors and two fabulous sparkling chandeliers. The staff were friendly and looked after us. We chose the Scampi and Chips and it was excellent. It looked nice on the plate and tasted equally as good, it was badly priced either. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We came across this little gem when out for a walk in Wendover. Although the outside seating allocation was full due to the lovely weather, we easily found a spot inside. We both ordered the large breakfast, which arrived promptly. For the price, you got a very good portion. The black pudding was very tasty, the hash browns were perfectly crispy, the bacon was meaty with a nice margin of fat for flavour; also, perfectly cooked eggs, well cooked sausages etc. The food was piping hot too. Our only criticism would be the use of semi-skimmed milk. Recent studies show that full-fat dairy products are protective against diabetes, obesity and heart disease. Large numbers of people and cafes are switching back to whole milk. I recommend you use whole milk too for health and flavour reasons, as it makes coffee etc. taste much creamier and you need less of it!

Couple plus adult son. Booked in here as a motorhome stopover. Table booked for the evening. Landlord was happy for us to park up with permission in the morning so we could spend the day with our son who’s moved in locally. Lovely olde worldy country pub. Clean, friendly, proper home cooking & prices. Play area for kids outside and covered seating also outside. Peaceful nights sleep on sloping grass. Defo recommend and defo return.
