I spent New Year’s Eve here with friends, and the pub seemed surprisingly quiet for what is typically a bustling spot. We ordered a variety of dishes, including risotto, burgers, and chicken schnitzel. The burger was enjoyable, and the risotto was decent, but the chicken schnitzel was disappointing—dry and rubbery, requiring ketchup just to add some moisture. Additionally, if you have allergies, be aware that the allergy matrix provided is more of an administrative challenge, with unclear abbreviations and messaging that make it difficult to interpret.

Came here for Sunday roast on 15th Dec and left disappointed. Across the board the gravy was a tasteless pool on the plate and the Yorkshire pudding was bitter. My pork belly was all right and I got through my plate though nothing stood out except the carrots. Unfortunately, my sister had a bad cut of beef which was chewy and fatty - she gave up on it after having to spit out fat with every bite. My 7 year old didn't eat more than half her mini roast turkey because of the disappointing gravy and yorkshire pudding that she was looking forward to. This place probably does better as it was well packed but our overall lunch experience yesterday was not at all good or worth the money.

Lovely pub but not a great burger. Very overcooked, when asked for pink. Pretty tasteless and underwhelming burger.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch. Great food. I'd called in advance to discuss my daughter's allergies. The duty manager was so accommodating on the phone and everything was followed through on the day we came. It was much appreciated and we had a really lovely time.

Di mi nombre y me dirigí hacia abajo con mi hijo que tiene 15 años. Vamos por todo Londres a restaurantes y pubs juntos todo el tiempo, a menudo bastante tarde. Pero en esta ocasión - Por primera vez en la historia nos rechazaron porque me dijeron que ningún niño permitía. El gerente dijo que era ilegal para menores de 18 años estar en un pub después de las 8 pm. explicar que podía entender que si era solo él con amigos, pero yo estaba allí simplemente para una cena tranquila con mi hijo adolescente muy adulto, era extremadamente extraño. Le expliqué que fuimos sobre el lugar y que nunca nos habían rechazado. Tal vez fue un fob off o tal vez el gerente simplemente se baja en un viaje de poder - arruinando la noche para nosotros, I Fue molesto, y también bastante embarazoso. ¿Pero por qué no mencionarías perros pero no dirías nada sobre la edad? Un viaje perdido. Así que en su lugar fuimos a nuestro pub local - y allí nos recibieron con los brazos abiertos,

Llevo tiempo queriendo escribir esto. Descubrimos el Bolly hace aproximadamente un año y a menudo aparece un domingo para tomar algo cuando paseamos a nuestro perro por el común, pero cenamos por primera vez este verano y ¡WOW! Gran menú y servicio, íbamos a pedir filete a la carta, pero la camarera señaló que había una mejor oferta disponible ese día en la tabla de tiza que incluía una botella muy agradable de Malbec por lo que es una gran oferta a mitad de semana. Filetes hechos perfectamente servidos con pipas calientes triples cocidas que a menudo son una decepción en otros lugares. También tenían un menú de postres muy bueno. El personal también vino y nos dijo que el bar estaba a punto de llamar a los últimos pedidos, que era un buen toque, ya que muchos pubs solo cierran sin previo aviso y pudimos pedir una copa nocturna antes de volver a casa. También solo para añadir en días especiales como el Día del Padre/Madre siempre hacen una oferta encantadora de pinta gratis para papá y un vaso de fizz para mamá. ¡Qué bonito toque! Otros lugareños de la zona deben tomar nota. Bien hecho al gerente y al personal para una operación realmente bien dirigida.

I was sat on a table with my two friends having a few rounds of drinks when a member of staff came around, moved my friend’s phone, placed a reserved sign on the table and walked away with no explanation. A couple of minutes later, another person came by, said that the table is reserved and left. Absolutely rude! We could’ve stayed for more drinks, but won’t be coming back after this.

Rude staff. Average food. It’s a shame - used to be good

Three of us went for dinner and had a lovely evening. The staff are very friendly and I thought our lead Italian waitress was great. The food was delicious and I look forward to returning soon.

Siempre me ha encantado el Bolingbroke y he estado allí muchas veces lo elegí para mi cumpleaños número 60 y la celebración del cumpleaños de mi hijo. Debo decir un poco agobiado hoy, pastel solo servido con patatas fritas, pidió puré dijo que solo estaba disponible el lunes! No hay otra opción que patatas fritas, para un no come patatas fritas un poco decepcionante. El aire acondicionado se convirtió en congelación, en una noche no muy cálida (y llegamos mojados debido al clima muy húmedo) fue un poco demasiado. Se nos pidió que nos mudáramos a una mesa libre lejos para la explosión de aire acondicionado, pero nos dijeron que no podíamos mover, más de una hora y media después cuando salimos, mesa que solicitamos para moverse todavía estaba vacía. No hay reconocimiento de cumpleaños y el personal un poco desinteresado. No me apresuraré a volver, lo cual es un poco triste, ya que siempre me ha encantado allí normalmente.

Just finished a roast, & it was easily the best roast I’ve had in the last 10 years without a question. Tried a few of the wife’s chips also delicious! Staff are lovely, all in all I would highly recommend a roast dinner here! Lovely pub! 64

We had the best food there today. We had a good service, very very friendly staff specially the moroccan lady she looked after us When she start taking our orders she checked if we have a food allergy she asked us to Let her know ahead of time if there are things we absolutely cannot have so the Kitchen have time to plan . We can tell she is a focused person although she was serving other customers but she keeps asking us if we need anything else.

Family reunion, large table, including children, but staff were very attentive, food lovely. Staff member even came to make sure we caught the correct bus to the station. Definitely visit again

Very noisy and very busy given that we visited late afternoon midweek. Probably due to us coinciding with 'happy hour'. If you are looking for a quieter time and don't need the discount then the pub and staff are excellent

A really nice place for a meal. Visiting from Australia, we met family and had a wonderful meal. All of the meals were really nice, from the fish and chips through to the rack of ribs (the lamb cutlets were absolutely amazing!). And the service was super friendly, attentive and made the whole visit most enjoyable 🤓

Assolutamente da provare il fish and chips, che ho trovato molto buono. Il ristorante dispone anche di un menù per i bambini, quindi è consigliato anche per le famiglie. Si respira l'aria di un buon pub.

I booked a table Wednesday for 4 at 5,30 pm we arrived at 5,10 pm we service for very nice lady Habiba told us not problem Plus she recomend the good quality of food Amazing my friends was impressed for good service with Habiba

We had lunch here after our town hall wedding ceremony and everything was absolutely perfect- the food and drinks were great and the service was amazing! Highly recommend

We had a wonderful lunch, the very reasonably priced set menu. Th wild mushrooms with black truffle was absolutely delicious and we were all very happy with our main courses, the tender stem broccoli was perfection. Most importantly however was the service. The staff were so kind and helpful and went above and beyond expectations. I arrived with a home made birthday cake and after a hot car journey they kindly chilled it and happily served it to us at the end of our meal complete with plates , napkins, cake knife and cutlery. They even portioned up the remaining cake and put into takeaway cartons and washed up my own cake plate and delivered back to the table. So very very kind. Thank you Bolingbroke team. Gold standard. We will be back.

I so want the food in this pub to be better. But after a few visits lately I'm giving up hope. The menu and the specials sound enticing enough, but it's as if the kitchen staff just don't have an idea of what makes for tasty food. There's a lot of focus on the presentation - you know the thing; pointless printed greaseproof paper between your food and the plate, tiny ramekins for your sides, artisanal sea salt flakes on your chips, pointlessly char-grilled lemon wedges etc. Unfortunately, aside from a rare occasion of hitting upon a well cooked 'special' (the ribs a few months back were good), the food is just bad. Chips are dry and tasteless; burgers cooked to hell with nicely cut but under-ripe slices of tomato. I had the cod & chips last time I visited - costs clearly minimised on the cut of fish served up - two small fillets rather than a single large one, and an unappetising grey tinge. Batter thick, damp and stodgy. It's as if nobody in the kitchen tastes this food, and kitchen managers looking to cut costs wherever they can as long as the plates meet a visual check. Such a shame, because it's otherwise a lovely local pub.

Had a lovely roast with my family this evening. Food was great, service was very friendly, professional & quick! Would thoroughly recommend.

I entered on Tuesday at 11-30 am. I was the only customer & I was reading my newspaper when the goon on duty lowered the window blinds obscuring 50% of the daylight. I protested to no avail & I exited leaving my glass still partly filled. I remember when Jess was the day duty manager, a pleasure to visit.

Delicious food and great service

The Bollingbroke is a charming gastropub offering a delightful ambiance and an appealing menu. The establishment exudes warmth, making it an perfect place for a casual meal. My recent visit to The Bollingbroke left me with mixed feelings. The pub itself is lovely, with an ambiance that encourages relaxation and conversation. The menu boasts an array of enticing options, providing a promising start to the dining experience. However, my enthusiasm waned as we encountered significant delays in the service. Unfortunately, we waited a staggering 1.5 hours for our mains to arrive, and the staff seemed inattentive throughout the evening. On a positive note, when the food did finally arrive, it was delightful. My Pork, despite arriving cold, showcased the kitchen's potential. It was a shame that the temperature wasn't right, significant enough for me to notice and comment on it. Considering the positives and negatives, I would recommend considering a visit to The Bollingbroke when they have promotions on their food. The experience, though fine, did not warrant the full-price tag. With improvements in service efficiency and attentiveness, The Bollingbroke could transform into a must-visit gastropub, but for now, it falls just short of being a standout dining destination.

Into the atmosphere of this place that I always liked and yet more so in the wintertime in which I write this. Dark and cozy with pools of light and warm glows. A decent enough selection behind the bar, I can't comment on the food I generally come in here for a quick drink as I like just spending time, yet idling over the Specials board I was deciding that I must come back and give them a go. See you soon I suppose.

I called on here on the off,to get out of the cold and enjoy a drink and immediately loved the atmosphere.. The excellent barmaid set the tone by offering a taste of the house red before I invested (which was lovely btw).. Beautiful festive atmosphere; warm, cosy corners, lovely decor...and my top favourite, hooks to hang coats on! We only had hand cut chips; which were gorgeous, but the food being served elsewhere looked very appetising and everyone appeared very happy... We will be back for a proper sit down meal in the not too distant future...

The service was incredibly slow and the waitress was very grumpy, almost like you were an inconvenience being there or asking for drinks. We were there 3 hours and despite chasing, it was 2 before the food came - and then they asked us to hurry up and leave!! Food was nice though and a beautiful atmosphere / pub.

Was walking by with friends when we saw their Birthday Special 3 course meal for £20 was advertised. We were on the hunt for a Sunday Roast so it was rude not to have their Birthday special since it did have Roast Beef as an option. We started with the fish pate, the Roast Beef and all the trimmings and then a chocolate brownie. It was all absolutely delicious and such a steal. We were so stuffed by the end of it! Happy birthday!

Lovely pub. The food and staff were amazing.

A great little gastropub with well prepared, presented food. A slight hiccup on our booking was quickly ironed out and we were seated quickly and professionally. Starters of cauliflower winglets and mackerel pate were a great start to our experience. Beautifully cooked and tasted lovely. Sunday roast of pork, chicken and a third of beef completed the Sunday lunch. A great place to visit for a memorable lunch.

Mouth blistered due to sticky toffee pudding which had a skin on and was not steaming - I was not warned that it was boiling hot. When I complained to the waitress, I was dismissed with a 'you should wait to eat it', no apology and dismissive attitude

What started on a very promising note because of the very nice atmosphere soon turned into disappointment because of the mediocre food and slow, shoddy service. My hamburger was overcooked despite being told it would be "pinky" when I asked for medium-rare and was informed they couldn't cook as per request. Our calamari starter was stringy and the fish (as part of the fish and chips) didn't have much taste. We had to wait 45 mins before we got our mains delivered despite requesting our order to be all brought out together because we were only having one appetizer. By the time our desert arrived (sticky-toffee pudding, which was good), we'd been there for over 90 mins and couldn't wait to leave. Something just seems off with this place!

Enjoyed an evening with a friend here and we opted for the Celebration Menu, which is £20 for 3 courses. Must say the options were lovely and overall the food was great, only downside was the chips as part of the main I chose. Some still very hard and no flavour at all. Otherwise I would definitely visit again, wonderful little spot. And in all honesty for 3 courses only being 20 quid, you cant go terribly wrong.

Food was nice but staff was very disrespectful, I called a guy over asking for help and he completely ignored me ! I think his name was “one” but he was very rude and made my time very uncomfortable

We enjoyed the set menu for the 20th anniversary. Such good value for money! The roast beef with all the trimmings was the perfect main course for a late, lazy Sunday lunch.

Lovely gastro pub with nice food. But service distinctly disappointing, slow ordering, inattentive and very slow food service. Recommended for the atmosphere and food but not for the service or if you have only a couple of hours spare. .

Mediocre at best. Unfriendly staff, waited half an hour to order food because nobody came. Went up to the bar several times to order food instead and were told that someone would come and take our order. Food took ages to come out and was average at best. Homemade bread was as dry as anything. Wouldn't come again. For the rubbish service they charge 12.5% which is honestly a joke given the lack of service you actually receive.

Booked for father's day and after 2 hours my husband and I still only had a starter. The chicken was not cooked so my 6 year old son left too. We asked how long food would be and they said very soon but still nothing. So we ended up leaving without our mains and dessert. Really disappointed and gutted given it was a special occasion.

Cute place just sadly let down by the truly horrific attitude of some members of staff. Won’t be returning.

We had a marvelous Sunday Roast with my family and, a few days later, also a very good lunch. The food is delicious and the staff is very gentile. I absolutely recommend The Bolingbroke !

My favourite place in London for a roast! We had almost given up trying to find a decent roast in London until we visited the Bolingbroke - good options including vegetarian, nicely cooked & generous proportions.

We were a party of 11 friends and this pub was perfect. The food was very well priced and tasty, the waitress was lovey and attentive. Not a place for a special treat but great for big groups or a casual lunch

Well-decorated and a cosy interior. We enjoyed the afternoon there but I’m sorry to say the staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. Maybe we just got unlucky. I’d still recommend this place for a quick drink though, it’s really nice.

We had a really lovely birthday celebration at The Bolingbroke today. The sky-lit area at the back made for a delightful venue. The food was delicious and Habiba, Juan and George looked after our party of both adults and children very well. They were friendly, efficient and it was a very smooth experience. We will be back!

Food is lovely but service is so terrible. Had to chase for sides, order wrong and drinks didn’t arrive until after we had finished our mains. Then when we complained they took the drinks away! Such a shame and we’ve never reviewed anywhere, but this was unacceptable. Would be cautious booking here. Manager apologised but meal was ruined.

Amazing place in Northcote road. We visited on a friday night and it was busy, so if you're planning on having a meal you might want to reserve a table in advance. The food was superb.

Very reasonable cost and a marvelous Spanish red but my wife's beef burger was inedible. The starters, halumi and squid were chewy and greasy. I suspect the microwave had been put to use. However bar and waiting staff were charming so I hope to try it again.

This venue was chosen by our local-resident son for its good food reputation. We had a great meal (recommend the chicken schnitzel) amid lots of conversation. We would love to return next time we are in London.

Sunday family lunch for 6 of us ( 4 adults, two children). Seated in the back room area which was so relaxing away from the very busy bar area. Fantastic staff who were knowledgeable about the menus and gave great wine recommendations. Service was brisk and our waitress could not have been more helpful. As for the Sunday roast-beautiful slices of roast beef, so tender, accompanied by brilliant roast potatoes, veg and huge Yorkshire Puddings. Desserts came in a wide range and were also delicious. This now our preferred Sunday pub and we say thank you for a great meal.

Food: 4/5 Decent food and good choice of items. We got a selection of small plates to share around the table. Ambience: 3/5 Standard gastro pub. Lots of outdoor seating was a plus in this weather. Family-oriented. Price: 3/5 Prices are alright. We paid around £90 for 4 adults and 2 kids. Service: 1/5 Sadly, the one area where the Bolingbroke failed. We waited nearly 45 mins before someone took our order, and the food also took a long time to arrive. There were only two waitresses serving everyone, and I think there is a definite scope to have more waiting staff to improve quality of service.

Great place for a late Sunday lunch

This pub in Wandsworth was recommended to me by a good friend, for which I heartily thank him. You have to know about this gem to get to it and I am pretty sure you will not be disappointed if you do visit. Lovely setting for family gatherings for Sunday lunch, you should book in advance - just to be sure you can find a table. Very pleasant atmosphere and very busy. Pity it was raining - on a sunny day the tables outside must be really nice, especially since the roads around it are pedestrian on Sundays. Had a meze dish to start off while we waited for our friends, with warm pitta bread slices, olives and feta cheese, halloumi and roast synergies and red peppers as well as tzatziki and hummus dips. Yummy. For mains we went for the traditional roast beef and roast pork dishes (with a “Yorkie” , Yorkshire pudding) - crackling included with the pork! We also tried the wild boar sausages and mash. Full to the brim as we were, the charms of the server were not wasted on us and we did try the cheesecake and chocolate pudding, followed by good espressos to keep us awake after such a grand meal. The staff were simply excellent and I will definitely be back next time I’m in London on a Sunday

Loved it here and my wife said the vegan roast was the best she'd ever had. Really chilled atmosphere and just great food.

The Boli is a staple established restaurant; food impeccable, ( thank you kitchen dept) bar managers kindest and patient, servers funny and efficient.

Really enjoyed the pub. Nice vibe. Family friendly. Good food. Had the hamburger with blue cheese. Also loved the sticky toffee pudding.
