The Boathouse Beefeater in Nottingham

Walked in at 17:40 to just eat something quick, whole restaurant empty but refuse to serve us food because we did not booked or we had reservation from the hotel. On top of that, the staff was rude handling our request, and walked away without letting us explore any further option.

The food was horrendous had chicken and ribs combo , ribs were dry and looked old , chicken tasteless , my daughter's burger was tasteless and badly presented vist £41 absolute joke of a price , the combo came on what looked like was a tray out of someone's kitchen, for the life of me I did not get why paper was underneath the food every time you cut into the food you got paper stuck to your food , drinks were a joke, £ 3.25 FOR A J2O which was clearly out of a 4 pack small bottle not the usual size which you not supposed to sell separately. Was given a tall glass for a coke but given a straw half the size of the glass so I clearly couldn't use it , very bad experience all round never go there again waste of money a total rip off and food terrible .

I booked a table 3 weeks ago for my Friends birthday for nine people , received a call yesterday to say they have to cancel my reservation as they have hotels guests which the hotel guests are their priority. I explained that how can I find a place in this short notice, the Manager and deputy Manager were rude and not helpful , not even an apology .

Think the in side needs to be cleaned 🤔

I stay at the Premier next door regularly for work. I always find the food excellent - apart from a poor meal on Father's Day but it was manic and we all have bad days. I had a fillet steak last night and it was absolutely amazing. It's one of the few places where a medium rare actually comes to you as a medium rare and the meat was sublime. Staff are always helpful and cheerful and it just has a nice, homely vibe. Highly recommended

I live right next to the restaurant, and it is very disappointing to say that I have tried to go there 3 times, once I went with my husband to have a drink the restaurant was 2 months ago and we were completely ignored at the bar , when someone came to the bar they didn't even afternoon he started to do the table drink and we gave up and left, twice I convinced my husband to try again this time we went for dinner and again we were waiting at the door and it seemed like we were invisible no eye contact no one said anything to us We even thought we weren't supposed to wait at the door and once again we gave up, and this Saturday I woke up early and said to my husband let's try to go there for breakfast, maybe it was the time or even the missing of employees, I convinced him to do more a disappointment, we stood at the door again but this time we waited to see if anyone came to talk to us at least we stayed for a while again no one gave us any eye contact when ugly someone went to the door and without saying anything we asked her if it was just sitting her was very unfriendly didn’t say a simple good morning she said wait, someone is coming, when finally someone appears and said that it was full book there were a lot of empty tables what do I have to say and that there is no point in a restaurant like yours investing in advertising marketing with poor service like yours, yet you can clearly see that the staff there are unhappy and poorly trained unfortunately this was our last attempt at the food we can't say anything as we never got past the door :(

Excellent customer service! All serving staff worked very hard and were keen to deliver a good service - they were friendly and approachable! The manager (a lady in a dress, long blonde hair) was excellent at sorting the bill and organising our food - not an easy task for our party of roughly 25. I was very impressed with the service I received!

We are staying in the premier inn next door to this pub and I was getting a little hungry. Came here for something to eat and drink or two. Walking in the welcome was good, the member of staff was pleasant welcoming and attentive. We sat down and ordered a drink whilst we looked at the menu. Double Crunch Chicken sounded really nice so I thought I’d have this. Priced at £16.49. I also ordered a garlic bread to go with my main. My partner was not hungry and settled on an ice cream. When the food came within 10 minutes and I was very surprised to see what I had been given. The crispy bacon was not crispy at all. The ends of it burnt and the middle very much under done. The chicken felt very hard I did not even try it. The presentation was appalling literally a dollop of coleslaw, What looked like a handful of undercooked French fries just chucked on the plate with this chucking burger. No presentation what’s so ever. In fact this would be something I’d expect to be made at home and then I could do a far better job doing this at home. The garlic bread looked anemic and again just looked like it was chucked into a side plate. Now I know that Beefeater’s are not know for fantastic food but you do expect at least a level of quality. I was very disappointed as the menu did make this dish sound really good. Sadly tho this food looked like it had been made by a teenager making a snack. What annoyed the most is the £16.49 they thought was acceptable for this meal not to mention the additional cost of the garlic bread. I refused point blank to eat this meal and when I complained I was asked would I like another making. When I said as long as it’s not like that I was gobsmacked to hear the waiter say it will be. Needless to say that I will not be visiting here for my breakfast in the morning as a result of this meal. By far this is the worse presentation of a meal I’ve ever been expected to pay for. PLEASE LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE GOVIBG PAYING CUSTOMERS. This is a shame as the staff were lovely but the food and presentation was in my opinion a massive -10 stars.

Me and my friend went in for a meal, we were stood waiting for ages to be sat. Eventually we asked the waitress who was walking around (who had seen us multiple times) if we should just seat ourselves. She replied in such a rude way even though we were polite and had been waiting for a long time. She essentially said she won’t get to us anyway so we should just stay there. We had no issue with waiting or if it was busy, but there was no need for the snark that came out of her. We left anyways. Didn’t really want to be served by her.

Arrived to eat and was sent away with the quote “we cant get you in”. Wouldn’t have been so bad if I wasn’t looking at least 20 free tables. What a joke.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in any restaurant ever, the service is absolutely awful and disgusting, the old woman with a face like a bull dog chewing a wasp is so rude she needs a wake up call, it’s obvious she’s a very bitter and unhappy person with her life, waiting on people at her age but that’s not the customers fault, meant to be all you can eat and got served 1 plate it’s actually laughable.

Lovely Sunday lunch and plenty of it, our server Val was amazing, couldn't do enough for us, absolute asset. Will be visiting again soon.

Gave this place a 3 start only because it clean. The food is well over privced. 10oz rib eye and salad 20 quid. Daylight robbery. So not be a place ill go again for food but mat pip in for a nice cold beer and sit outside in the summer 😋

First time we have visited here and thought we would try it for breakfast. Friendly helpful service. Food was cooked wonderfully and served hot. Plenty of selection to help yourself to on the continental breakfast table and plenty of cold and hot drink choices to choose from. I really enjoy coming here for breakfast. But!!! the cooked breakfast to say its cooked by chefs is diabolical the bacon is like cardboard fried eges are like hard boiled eggs. Please I'm sure you can do better than this.

Worst service I have received at a premiere inn beefeater. Meant to be unlimited breakfast but bad attitude on requesting to reorder. Must say this is only directed at one hostile member of staff who seemed to be in charge on the day - Maybe Diane R. When we complained about the service, she accused us of being rude and then proceeded to delay the order for about despite the restaurant being virtually empty! Don’t go here if you can help it.

I had the most expensive thing in the set menu chicken and rib combo. Everything was dry and tasteless except the chicken breast which I can only describe as tasting dirty. The fries you get are like something from a bowling alley. Not worth the price of even set menu. Nobody checked back on us and the allergy guide we were given was pretty useless

Fab valentines meal. Steak was amazing and the roast potatoes were the best. However the highlight was the choc dome. Best valentine meal ever.

This was a place frequented quite frequently when my folks were alive. Visited again in Jan 24 only to find a few things worth warning about. 1. Some weeks later rec’d a parking charge for £85 for not registering my number plate! Daily robbery and whilst they maintain signs are displayed in the car park it was dark and frankly I didn’t see them and wouldn’t expect to pay if there are parking facilities. Secondly would you not point this out to your guests? 2. Customer service left a lot to be desired. I called to resolve and spoke to Tony the barman and was horrified when he communicated he was too busy to help as was dealing with customers and I eas lucky he answered the phone! Hang on a sec I am a customer!. 3. Meal was fine, quality average, service ok. All in all I would pay the extra every time and go to Miller and Carter, far better service with a smile, who value their customers and steak is brilliant. @whitbread you need to get hour act together and employ people who deliver customer service and train your staff. Stop robbing people with these ridiculous parking charges and create unnecessary work and stress Give it is miss folks!

I dont oftern post negative reviews but there is definitely room for improvement with your restaurant. 40 minutes from entering the restaurant to getting breakfast. Ordered poached eggs and got one poached and one hard boiled. Had a lovely steak the night before but the service and presentation was very unremarkable. The restaurant looks to be under staffed as most of the staff serving breakfast were also serving dinner the previous night. If you are short staffed don't keep taking bookings , it doesn't do your reputation, customers or staff any favours.

Fabulous breakfast with the family

We had a team night here. Service was a bit lacking, but the poor guy was mostly on his own, and a few things went wrong. He dealt with it really well though. I'd return, the food was hot and tasty, and the place was clean. Hope breakfast was better for the poor guy serving!

Food was below average and portions were very small. Service was extremely slow especially between courses. Bar man didn’t known how to make drinks and when asked if a Prosecco was nonalcoholic he said yes and when questioned it transpired it was alcoholic. Wouldn’t consider going back here or another beefeater again.

Unplanned meal using 33% off via email Wednesday 27th December around tea time, bar very busy with large family party 🥳 unfortunately along with their kids they were in & out the main door for a smoke, making the restaurant quite cold on this windy night . Drinks ordered Moretti & strawberry & lime cider, smothered chicken & 74 Baconeater burger, both meals quite basic, considering the ingredients on my burger it was quite plain, total bill £31:54.

The food is overpriced and very average no real atmosphere, a very disappointing experience.

Absolutely beautiful meal, I had the prawn cocktail for starters as i always do with a Christmas meal, the prawn were nice and big and tested very nice, however for me the added smoked salmon didnt belong in the dish, Their roast potatoes on their Xmas Dinner were to die for, only thing lacking in the meal was mash potatoes would have topped it off, I can also confirm that their billionaire profita rolls were so good I could have had seconds thirds and fourths if I had anywhere to put them. Overall very satisfying meal and at a very decent price.

The staff were great, polite ,helpful . The food was basic and for the price lacking in amount ! I've had much better pub bar food for the same sort of price.

We ordered 2 of the exact same roast dinners yet 1 came with about 10 parsnips and 1 came with none, 1 came with pigs in blankets and 1 came with none, 1 came with lots of roast potatoes and 1 came with alot less. Also normally gravy always come separate but it came already poured all over our food which I hate! So had a plate full of soggy food! Could also hear the staff right next to us talking about us as if we couldn't hear! Won't ever come back here!

Food was abit disappointing but the service was good

Quite a chilled atmosphere in a large pub. Food was nice, fish and chips and reasonable price. The menu could offer more choice if Im honest. Staff were really really good. Polite, friendly and helpful.

Breakfast is not unlimited as advertised, my order came with many items missing and the waitress used the excuse of the kitchen running out of items! This was a lie as on leaving I spotted the chef plating up said items for other customers! They still want to charge full price of course! Poor service.

Absolutely loved first time I have ever been it was amazing

3 of us went for a meal. we had a small problem with 1 of the meals, which was quickly and efficiently rectified. Apart from that it was a very nice meal the staff were friendly, pleasant and efficient.

Saturday night, food was hot and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent, manageress was really pleasant and professional, spot on.

Visited for breakfast here a few times, the continental breakfast is never disappointing but the cooked breakfast however is very different. The hash browns were chewy, poached eggs over cooked, scrambled eggs rubbery, bacon grey in colour a d the whole breakfast was cold. Never much service with a smile either.

Not bad, the food could of been a bit better. The ribs aren't cooked with any sauce (although it says they are glazed) so they come out plain and they just don't taste of anything. My lasagne was lovely. The starters were average and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The service was quite slow, especially as when we first arrived it wasn't that busy. It felt like they were under staffed. Things not available on the menu. The lasagne was very nice and tasty,sadly the steak ordered, was very fatty! Which is very disappointing when coating £20.

Great breakfast. Eat as much as you like. Prefer though help your self as and when your ready. Waitresses were lovely though and very patient

Very Accomidating, the Beefeater was very busy & hadn't booked as wasn't staying at the Premier Inn we just fancied a real nice breakfast & love the Variety . The staff even though busy was happy to chat .

After going for a meal in the evening thought I'd try breakfast, admittedly we were 17 minutes late but the attitude of the staff member wasn't good. I apogised and she said tables been given away now, your late, I asked if we could still be seated and again it was no we've got more coming in and your late. On leaving I rang the manager, she didn't even need to ask who it was and said yes she's abit grumpy. If you know you've a staff member like that, either give them training or don't have them front of house, it's unprofessional. The manager explained they only hold table for 15 minutes and was sorry she couldn't get us in but at least she explained. Dissapointing, not sure I'll go back to try breakfast.

Love having a full breakfast here and kids 15yrs and under eat free. ( 2 kids eat free per full paying adult ). The male toilets could do with being a little bigger but are clean enough. Plenty of free parking if you enter your reg on entry.

Can't believe I haven't been here before. Really enjoyed the food, the services were fine and the atmosphere and space were excellent. Unlike a lot of resteraunts, the tables are spaced out nicely.

Limited high calorie, less than healthy menu. I'm sure it used to be better. What you get is we'll cooked - my sirloin steak was nicely done per my medium rare order. Had salad instead of chips. Can't fault the staff - excellent as always.

Amazing experience today for lunch! I am a coeliac and was quite worried about how the food was prepped. I spoke with Diane and Shannika and they both assured me that everything was prepared with great care. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and very kind :) The burger was delicious! It was really nice to have a GF bun that didn't fall to pieces :) Highly recommend if you are gluten free/coeliac! :)

Food is OK. Drink OK. Staff very busy but attentive. Our table was very sticky. There were lots of smears on the glass windows on the doors. I would have expected a bit better to be honest. Definitely plenty of room for improvement. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but 1st impressions count. Overall, quite expensive and cleanliness falls below expectations. If arrived by car, remember to register and validate your vehicle registration at the bar to avoid a parking charge

Is it me or are beefeaters so expensive now? Decided not to eat here as the prices are just stupid.. Went to a pub down near the river and got a carvery for £7.99 which blew our socks off....

My Aunty had the Calamari starter, followed by the Beer Battered Haddock. I had 2 starters. Wings with HOT sauce (delish) and Calamari. Soft, juicy, succulent. The waitress was also superb. Friendly and enthusiastic.
