We visited Ulva seven years previously when the Boathouse was run by different people. We were keen to revisit during our recent trip to mull. We sat on the tables outside with one of the best views from any restaurant I have been to, stunning vistas. I had the highland cheese selection and my wife had the langoustine salad. Both were excellent and were served with their freshly baked bread which was very moreish. I can highly recommend and as good as previous. Much better food and service than the overpriced restaurants on Mull.

You wont find a better spot for lunch in Scotland ! The island of Ulva is beautiful and easy to walk on but the lunch , sitting outside at The Boathouse was our highlight. The seafood was fresh and delicious , the soup , the best we have had , the rose a great compliment . The waitress and the lovely man cooking couldn’t have been more helpful . Take the 2 minute ferry across and enjoy !

Absolutely fantastic food. The cheese selection was superb, and the chutney that came with it was wonderful. The seaweed relish platter with fermented and puckled veg is absolutely astounding. Our only grumble was that it's not very substantial for the cost of it, but it's so good, and the location so wonderful, that we would still come back in a heartbeat. Best food we've had on Mull!

This is certainly a fun experience taking a little ferry operated by an Irishman to the Isle of Ulva for a cozy lunch on a nice day in June. We ordered Farmhouse cheese and bread and a Spanish omelette. We shared a piece of gingerbread. I would say the omelette needed a bit more flavor as did the gingerbread. The cheese and bread were good. Overall. we enjoyed the experience, but it would be great if the food itself had been better.

Be aware there are a couple of free roaming local dogs, albeit they are friendly may worry your dog or children. Would highly recommend the fisherman's catch, oysters, smoked salmon, potted crab, langoustines, smoked mackerel pate accompanied by home made bread and oatcakes. Limited choice for those who don't eat fish/seafood but soup and roll combi went down well too. Tomato and red pepper soup plus ham and mustard roll which was a little light on the mustard. The only negative, I am reliably informed by my wife, was the state of the ladies' loo, disgusting apparently.

Found this cafe by accident and so glad we did. Beautifully clean, smart and modern - you may eat inside or out. As well as light lunches, they do some serious food and there is a really good choice. I had a cumberland sausage and onion baguette; very generous with the filling and good quality sausage. With it came five different salads; the carrot and sunflower one had a particularly delicious dressing. My husband had a ham and cheese baguette and he was equally enthusiastic. Highly recommended.

Plus an incredible salted hot chocolate (I buy bags of the stuff to take back to London), plus amazing pastries and excellent soup for lunch.
