Excellent food and lovely atmosphere at a good price. If you are coming here to eat, you may wish to check what else is on that evening, such as open mic nights and so on.

We really like this pub; a great atmosphere and delicious, simple food. And the position, right on the canal, is perfect. This was one of a few visits whilst we were in the area, and each time it was equally good. The chips are divine! And for lunch, the BLT is spot on

We had the 2 course dinner and I can honestly say it was probably the best Sunday dinner I have ever had. The food was so nice, plenty of it and so tasty. The lamb was so succulent and tender, didn’t really need to chew it. The staff that served us were really pleasant, attentive and had a good sense of humour. Well worth the 20mile journey and will certainly come back again. Thank you to all at the boat Inn.

Booked a table at the Boat Inn after cancelling our booking at The Navigator due to quite a few recent bad reviews. Very glad I did! We came here for lunch as a company when hiring a river boat for the day. Our table was right next to the door so we had a view of the canal. All of the food was very good, I thoroughly enjoyed my Burger of the Month Service was spot on, would definitely go again.

Even though we waited over 45 minutes, which we were informed would be the case when we ordered, it was absolutely worth the wait!! Whilst we were waiting, we overheard a couple of other tables complimenting the food and hoped we would be saying the same.....and we were not let down! We both ordered the Sunday Roast and both agreed it was delicious!!! The puddings were great too. Value for money = fantastic. Overall 10/10- A lovely meal to end a lovely day, thank you. A party of 8 visited for Sunday lunch. It was excellent. Friendly staff super choice of food. served piping hot and good portion sizes. Not a frozen vegetable in sight. We all enjoyed everything we had, a first visit but it wont be our last. We asked for a window seat , which we got and it was lovely watching the boats on the canal. Some of the food was disgusting very fatty. The staff never came to ask if everything was okay. A party of men came from a meeting so we had to move. I come here every so often and have never had a bad meal or bad service. Today was of no exception to the norm. We had bar meals and there was a great choice of beer and cider to wash them down. One had the salmon fillet with new potatoes and salad whilst the other had Hunters Chicken. The portions were of a good size and really tasty and fresh. We even found room for a home made desert. Bread pudding and ice cream and a mixed Berry crumble and custard and both were truly awesome. Not perhaps what you call healthy but they tasted great and put a smile on our faces so good hearty winter food which made us feel good and ready for a wander along the canal. Note to self:Must come here more often, well worth the 40 mile drive from Warwickshire.

Lovely pub, and the best breakfast. We always stop for breakfast here, when on a day out. Staff really friendly. We did not realise that they opened at 10am on weekdays, in January. But despite this, we were welcomed in, just after 9.30am to sit in the warm pub with a coffee, until we could order breakfast at 10. This was most welcome on a cold January morning, after an early tow path walk. Thank you to the staff for your warm and friendly welcome. And for a really tasty cooked breakfast. Lovely location and a cosy pub. We have eaten here a number of times and enjoyed the food enormously. So we decided to book Christmas day luncheon. The starters was delicious, mains more than enough although the roast potatoes a let down, just not crispy. We were looking forward to dessert, Christmas pudding/custard lacked the alcohol. I know that is a personal thing, but do feel a more boozy one for the adults. Only 3 cream crackers between two people. Plenty of cheese, but there really should have been enough cream crackers on the plate to begin with without having to ask for more. Disappointing mince pies, these really should have been home made and not shop bought. It was a lovely touch to have a little box of party poppers etc and a gift for each of us at the end. Over all it was a nice day. Service was top notch. It did lack atmosphere, no christmas music nor fairy lights in the dining room or the reception area upstairs. Can I also say, jeans? really. A dress code would be nice on such a day.

Probably the best Sunday lunch in a pub or restaurant ever. Between us we roast beef and belly pork. The vegetables and roast potatoes were served separately, meaning the potatoes stayed crisp and you have as many vegetables as you wanted or as little. The amount served was really good.
