Called while we were out on a drive. Not booked but no problem getting a table for 4. Ordered 4 soft drinks and issued with the menus. I noticed there were no prices on anything. Because we don't like sauces we ordered 4 8oz fillet steak chunky chips 2 peppercorn sauces 1 onion rings 3 lemon &lime 1 diet Pepsi The bill came to a whopping £184.00. The food was lovely but extremely small portions for a extremely expensive lunch. This was our first visit and our last. Could not justify the huge cost for a return visit.

Visited the Boars Head on 31/08/24.We popped in for the first time for something to eat.We ordered 4 8oz steaks,one portion of onion rings and 2 pepper corn sauces.Plus 1 large Pepsi and 3 lemon and lime.The food was lovely and to be honest could not fault.However the bill came to £184.This ruined the whole experience. No way could can you justify this huge cost.If the menu showed the cost/ prices of the food we would have not stayed but moved on.Please note it's not about the money,it's no way can you justify £37 for steak and a few chips.Will not be calling again.

Awesome Awesome food. Service was steady although they were busy. The staffs attitude was brilliant they went above and beyond for our daughters. Immaculately dressed staff and overall a brilliant pub!

We really enjoyed our meal on sat evening. The food was amazing served hot and we didnt have to wait long considering the restaurant was very busy. Also the service was excellent. It was our wedding anniversary and this was the perfect place to celebrate. We haven't been here for quite a few years but now we can't wait to go back. Thank you for a really lovely evening

We were a party of 11 and the service was great.no one kept waiting for their food, which has happened to me at other venues.

The location and building are wonderful. However the service is not very good, we were having a sit down meal and has to go to the bar to replenish our beer. I also ordered a rare steak that came medium well maybe well done it was definitely the opposite to rare. Rest of the food was good and tasty just maybe not extra special.

What a fantastic pub/restaurant. Staff superb, quality of food exceptional and decor was relaxing and very welcoming. Best restaurant we've been to. Made our graduation trip even more lovely.

Came here last night meal for 2 as we were seated we asked for a couple minutes to settle before ordering drinks which ended up having us waiting around 20 minutes for a drinks order. Food came out rather quick but after requesting another drink half way through the meal it took another 10 minutes and was filled to the brim with crushed ice? We took it back and asked for a new one and got told it’ll be brought over which was another 5 minutes. Been here many times this has been the worst experience. I understand that it was nearer towards the end of everyone’s shifts but as working in hospitality myself you shouldn’t make a table feel ignored and avoided. The girl who served us did apologies and give us our drinks off the bill she was very nice about it all and could tell that the service wasn’t the best so props to her.

Always have a lovely time and food here my only thing is we had to wait for one of our starters which came out after we'd already finished our meal but the staff couldn't be faulted, they apologised for the inconvenience and discounted this off the bill. Will be somewhere we come back to time and time again!

Every time a superb experience, today (24/6/24) no exception. The courtyard seating has been improved, the food was fab and the young lady who waited on was 5* no one could have tried harder to please, she’s brilliant cared for our dog and two other couples.

Hi, my mum and I are both meat eaters so our meal (pork and beef Sunday lunch) was beautiful. However, my partner is vegetarian and doesn't like mushrooms. He had no mains to choose so chose the salad option ( with char grilled hallomi). Unfortunately, it wasnt very well grilled and there was very little choice when it seemed quite easy to find veggie options for our favourite English dishes

Enjoyed a lovely few hours with friends and puppy. Dog beds available in form of crate and blanket 🥰. Manager and staff all very welcoming and accommodating. Food was delicious...I wish I lived closer and would visit often. Thank you x

Great lunch! Service was great, staff were warm and friendly. The atmosphere and facilities are very high quality. A varied menu and although on a slightly more pricier side you pay for what you get and what we got was great! 4 meals, 4 deserts and plenty of drink. All incredibly happy and will be booking in again for the next special occasion.

Called in on the way home from a trip out. Very busy place and the food is great. The staff still did their best to find is a table. Lovely venue.

Stumbled upon this by accident while visiting dagfields and was happily surprised. A gastro pub out in the country. Plenty of free parking. Lovely menu and the food was excellent, as was the service with very attentive staff. Prices a little in the high side but was definitely worth it. Would definitely recommend.

4 of us went for lunch. The waitress was very welcoming and the restaurant is clean and the conservatory where we were sat was nice and light. We have been to many of the Paragon group restaurants and always been more than happy with the food. Yesterday however my husband and I chose off the 2 courses for £22 lunch menu. The whiting was nice but my pizette was basically garlic bread

Beautiful outside eating area, nice lighting. Inside was lovely and the service very welcoming even though they were very busy. Wine was excellent and the food wonderful. We had a lovely evening, thank you very much.

Really lovely garden to have lunch in on a sunny Sunday afternoon! ☀️Good cocktail selection. A variety of food on the main menu and a Sunday lunch menu. My friend and I both ordered the roast beef which was delicious. The roast potatoes were a bit tough but the rest was cooked well and was really tasty. We also ordered the whitebait to start which again was super tasty and fresh. We had a cucumber and watermelon mojito each which was just what we needed to cool down in the heat of the sun. Service was very friendly. The outdoor area is really beautiful especially when the weather is good. There were beautiful roses blooming when we went in May! 🌹

Christmas meal with friends. We all had three courses and they were all very good. Sticky toffee pudding with custard was my favourite bit!

A favourite restaurant to visit, never had a bad meal here and the service is excellent. I can recommend the black and blue burger or the chicken, ham and leek pie. Sunday roasts are also lovely.

My family and I visited The Boars Head on Sunday for Sunday lunch. What can I say?? We were sat in the conservatory which had a great atmosphere, the service from the team was exceptional, nothing was too much for team and they regularly checked in on us throughout our stay. We had the Sunday Lunch and it was delicious and plenty of it!! I struggled to finish my dessert, however I managed to squeeze it in, It was delicious so I didn't want to leave any!! An all round great dining experience and we will be back, especially after seeing the works that have taken place in the garden area, roll on summer!!

First time experience for me & my daughter... Let's just say we had very clean plates , felt totally greedy indulging on our desert but couldn't resist 😉 both our tummies where ready to burst. DEFINITELY give this pub a Go! You will enjoy everything Staff Foods Drinks & Atmosphere... Thankyou again for making us feel so welcome ❤️

This place is hit and miss. Sometimes great. Sometimes not. We’ve had issues in the past with them adding an extra bottle of champagne onto the bill, and other times a nice get together. Yesterday wasn’t great, poor levels service attention, a dirty spoon, a long hair in my meal (I’m bald) and this is despite the restaurant being very quiet at 5pm on a Monday evening, which isn’t surprising. I’ll think carefully before going again.

Food is nice but quite small portions. Service was fairly prompt and they were able to accommodate us when we hadn't booked in advance so that was good of them. Atmosphere was great, very chilled and lovely light roomy area with large glass windows so you can see out. Cocktails looked impressive but we didn't have any this time.

First time we have visited and wow. Very relaxed, casual and a perfect setting with a lovely garden area. The staff were fantastic and I cant praise it enough we will be back.

Food was great, one item we chose was not on the menu but the staff responded in a prompt and professional manner with a little joke. Staff attentive and we never had to wait for anything.

Very nice country hotel in a small village surrounded by fields. The rooms are comfortable. generous sized and well decorated. The food is delicious both breakfast and dinner and the staff are friendly and helpful without being too intrusive. Great place to stay away from the less than pretty town (I'm allowed to say that I was born there).

This is possibly the best place to eat in the vicinity of Nantwich. It has a spacious dining area in what looks like a large conservatory. The menus are interesting and varied; the quality of the food is generally very good and the service was fine too. I'm vegan myself and was very impressed by the vegan-suitable main course on offer - roasted cauliflower on a bed of lentils, with various trimmings. It was really very good indeed. Just a few minor points prevented my awarding 5 stars: Firstly, there was only one cask ale on offer (yet three hand pumps available for others) on the two consecutive evenings I visited. That was disappointing. Secondly, the main dining area can be quite noisy, due to few 'soft furnishings' to absorb the sound. Thirdly, I took my elderly father, who doesn't have a large appetite. On the menu, the main courses are described as 'Large Plates'. I asked whether it might be possible to have a smaller sized portion (of the battered haddock and chips). The only option was to select the same dish from the children's menu. Unfortunately, it wasn't to the same quality as from the main menu; the chips were small and of poor quality compared to those provided for the same dish from the main menu the previous evening. With these three provisos noted, however, I would recommend the Boar's Head as a good place to dine.

Very disappointing main meals - expensive and I've had better at a wetherspoons. The starter was fine you can't really mess up slices of smoked salmon and some granary bread (no butter offered). The dessert was fine it was a bit frozen in the middle so obviously not home made. The main meal was flavourless, veg soggy, mash was clearly out of packet.

Food good and moderately priced. Staff were polite and courteous. Only slight issue was that the conservatory we were dining in, we found was on the cold side. Would definitely visit again

Nice atmosphere and welcoming staff, only thing was my soup was very bland I had to season it myself which was disappointing. My Gnocchi was tasteless as well. Nice place but wouldn’t rush back.

Food was amazing. We had slight problem with 1 meal missed off order but that was rectified very quickly by the staff. Service was really good as well by all staff involved.

Went for Christmas lunch. Salmon gravlax very disappointing, no mustard sauce accompaniment and salmon certainly hadn't been cured as was tasteless. The rest of the meal was delicious
