The Blossom Cafe in York

Mi envoltura estaba llena de tocino graso, salchichas insípidas y terminó siendo un desastre húmedo de la salsa. Eran 5 libras. 50 y estaba muy decepcionado con ella, no recomendaría visitar.

A great little place I found en route to the city centre, really tasty and great big portions. Was the perfect hearty breakfast I needed to start my day, only £10 for everything in the picture including the coffee. Would recommend!

Breakfast was warm and I ate it. The cooked breakfast is expensive and not good value.The worst cooked breakfast I have had ever (and I am a motorcyclist so I have experience - motorcyclists will be nodding their heads!?). Toast thin, white bread not properly browned. Sausage dismal. Tea poor. Large plate filled with poor tasting beans and tomatoes as if to bulk things out(?). I really don’t know how this place got the current three stars for overall reviews, people may have opted for other items on the menu maybe? Egg not properly cooked and hash browns….well hash browns are what they are. I try to go to ‘non chain’ cafes wherever possible but this choice was a mistake (which my partner has been reminding me of all day). Left this place then walked past seemingly dozens of cafes any of which would have been a preferable option.

We looked for a venue for breakfast on our final morning of our weekend in York. We wanted somewhere close to the Lawrance apartments where we were staying as we discovered the previous morning all cafes towards the centre were packed with queues for tables. Blossom cafe was perfect just 5 mins walk and seated the 8 of us. It was very clean and the mini breakfast was perfect to set us up for our journey home, it was also extremely good value. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I would definitely recommend if you want to avoid the crowds - it is also convenient for the railway station.

Lots of 1 star reviews I think are unfair. Yes it is a bit pricey but you can get a breakfast including a hot or cold drink for £9 I agree the sausage could probably do with an upgrade but you get plenty of toast and the bacon is good quality as are the beans. For York city centre I think the price is reasonable and we'll definitely be returning when we are next at the races

Very very expensive £4.00 for bacon on toast £2.30 for a cup of tea 🥴 I can get a full English breakfast with tea and toast back home for less and they were charging for a full English breakfast they were charging £12

The breakfast was, massive sadly the food wasn't cheap beans cheap sausages, there was no taste to anything on the plate, £12 each it was a disappointment we all left most of it and left still hungry

There was mould on the bread that I’d only discovered half way through eating it, pancakes were stale and cold

Went in to order a breakfast sandwich around 11:45. The wait wasn't too long even with online orders coming to collect. Fantastoc sandwich, good bread, bacon and sausage. Will definitely go again. Thoroughly enjoyed and just what I wanted before heading out for the day.

We were staying at the Ibis just across the road when we saw this place and decided to have breakfast here. Everything was freshly cooked and was piping hot. My wife had a "small" breakfast which consisted of bacon,egg,sausage,hash brown,beans,tomatoes, mushrooms and toast with a drink included in the price ( £7;50 ) it was huge with very generous portions. I had a large breakfast which had double everything of my wifes breakfast and a drink ( £10 ). It was worth every penny and the lady was very cheerful. If I was going to be picky maybe better quality sausages could be used,but would certainly go again if we were in York

We ordered breakfast from this restaurant, when only half of the breakfast arrived we called the restaurant to let them know and assumed they would send what they forgot. Instead we had an extremely rude woman tell us it wasn’t her problem and blamed the driver. If she had just apologised and said there’s nothing they could do I would understand but her service was disgusting!!!

Two breakfasts ordered one veggie . All Piping hot good coffee and proper toast . Nice staff excellent food and clean decor.

Popped in as this place was across from our hotel in York and had two small breakfasts. Very good value for money, bacon, egg, sausage, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash brown, toast and tea for two for under twenty pounds. All very tasty and cooked well. Service was friendly and very welcoming, and the place was very clean. We do have one small criticism; the breakfast did go cold very quickly - had the plates been warmed we'd definitely have given a 5!

I don’t like writing bad reviews this is more of a suggestion to the owners, the poor cheap products ruin a breakfast, also your sauces are beyond the cheapest of sauces. The food itself is hot and tasty, but the sausage, toast and butter ruin it

Popped in and had an amazing breakfast .. highly recommend the bagel topped with scrambled egg, avocado and bacon on the side. Very quick and very fresh. Much better than the Ibis offering.

Called here straight from the station. Service was quick and friendly. I had a ham and cheese toastie , my sister had a bacon sandwich. Everything was cooked to order and the ladies behind the counter gave us a great first impression of York

The staff were friendly. The food was tasty and cheap enough. The service was great too. Music playing on the radio was terrible (come back Ken Bruce - All is forgiven!)

My first visit but won’t be my last! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. It’s surprisingly calm considering it’s right on a main route out of the city. Every table has USB-A sockets to charge your phone etc. as well as regular plug sockets (maybe think laptop?) The food and drink is fairly basic but it’s tasty and the service is fast. It seems it can get a little busy with Uber Eats/Deliveroo riders waiting to collect orders at popular times but it’s all well-managed. Basically, this is a nice little spot in a useful location, that’s perfect for a simple bite to eat, a quick cup of tea, or as a place to get a bit of work done or read a book where the hot drinks keep on coming.

Absolutely shocking service took 3 hours for us to get our food! Ordered online for delivery but we ended up having to go pick it up ourselves and it still wasn’t ready when I arrived at the cafe! Beans were cold and bacon didn’t even seem cooked. When I arrived at the cafe the staff were very rude and unhelpful. 100% would not recommend!!

the coffee and cake for the 2 of us was perfect we were very pleased and the staff very friendly and polite it was worth the visit

The cafe is within the Bar Convent Hotel and has a beautiful tiled floor and glass ceiling in part. The cakes looked amazing although I only had a toasted tea cake which I cannot get in Australia!!
