Went for family Sunday lunch. Service was good as was the food. Moderately priced. Worth checking out!

I chose fish and chips. They had an option of small or large. I received a very medium portion, and it was apparently the large, because I was charged £17.00 😡 Not only was it way overpriced, it was a small piece of thin greasy fish if an unknown species. Chips pale and not many. Mushy peas, very mushy some would say watery. Was I impressed with the £17 ? No.

Very friendly staff, helpful! but way to expensive for food and was really looking forward to my homemade steak and ale pie with creamy mash and long stem broccoli with gravy now don't get me wrong nice food but not enough gravy so was dry and the mash reminded me of school dinners, all you have to do is add a bit more butter or some chives or philidelphia to potatoes and you can get a really nice mash worthy of a £16 price ticket

Very nicely decorated. Not that busy at lunchtime but an extremely long wait for our food. Saying that, when it arrived, the portions were plentiful and all extremely tasty.

Such potential is so sad they have a very very boring pub menu . Nothing hip and happening being served here . The grounds are beautiful and sick gorgeous surrounding but we took one look at the menu and left .

Now known as The Charlcombe Inn. We enjoyed our dinner and pudding 😊 we arrived at 6 and it was nice and quiet, things picked up by about 7. We both enjoyed our food... I had the fish burger and my husband had the pie. For dessert my husband had the brownie and I had the raspberry creme brulle. Service was great and was very clean and tidy. 4 stars as the chairs were a bit squeaky. Will go again.

We've passed this place so many times but never been in until now. My experience here was a little bespoke, but excellent. You truly find the worth of a place when you need something a bit different to normal. We had some family travelling a long way to see our newborn through the hospital window, and we needed a place to grab some food outside to minimise risk. The manager was obliging to our special request. The food was good, the views of the racecourse great, the service friendly and we will definitely be returning soon.

Poor confused welcome. Had to order and pay online. Just wanted a couple of drinks and may have stayed for meal. Waiter service was pleasant. Decided it was too much hassle to eat there.

A good coffee reasonably priced!

My husband ate here with friends lunchtime on Friday. Meals OK but staff very unfriendly. We ate there again in the evening and my meal was OK but my husband did not arrive at the same time as they forgot his order when it came pie was very dry and veg not cooked. Again the staff were very off hand and unfriendly. Will not be going there again.

We stayed at the Charlcombe Inn in those heady days in December 2020 when we were in Tier 2. Lovely cosy and comfortable room and great food in the pub. Easy access to Bath via Park & Ride just a short walk away. Some nice circular walks from the front door too if you want to burn off a few calories in between meals :-)

In these Covid days, many establishments seem to have forgotten that they operate in the hospitality industry I've been here twice now - both times I've been treated like a leper (very rude staff) I thought I would give it a second chance but same experience both times Walk this area often, and was a great stopping off point but will never go there again

Beautiful pub with a great choice of meals on the menu. The quality of food is high with a good price for what you receive. Highly recommended. All situated in a good location.

Good food, if a touch expensive, friendly efficient staff, slightly slow service initially, would definitely visit again.

Hot smoked salmon fish cake was devine and superb fish and chips from the lunch menu. A venue that even a rainy day cannot spoil.

Stopped here for a drink on a Sunday lunchtime whilst out walking. Very busy inside and was served promptly though Stone flooring as you enter with some carpeted areas

Not visited for a while. Seating area was chilly but plenty of space between tables. Food was average in quality and not a exciting menu with little option for non meat eaters. I had Ham,egg and chips which was poor quality Ham and chips were burnt tasting of the fat cooked in. All in All disappointing!

A lovely place with nucw beer and food. A little chilly when the fires are not lit, toasty when they are. Go for a walk nearby and end here.

Large pub on the Landsdowne Road, easy to park and quite near to Bath Racecourse. They're geared up for eating, so no comfortable armchairs just to have a drink.

Had a lovely fish and chips which was huge, staff very helpful and parking is easy. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits along with soft drinks. The food menu is not to large and they do daily specials.

Great pub on the way to Bath. We've only visited for Sunday roasts but what great roasts they are.

We had a very pleasant lunch in the room towards the back, overlooking a tremendous view of the racecourse. I had a lovely lamb kebab stick and pita stuffed to the rafters with a yummy Greek salad. My wife had a brie and bacon sandwich, with chips and salad; which again was all lovely and tasty. We were well looked after without being obtrusive and drinks arrived in good time and were appropriately hot or cold! Our food arrived in good time too and we enjoyed our meal immensely. There were four or five other groups of diners in at the same time and the ambiance was calmly convivial. Thank you; we would like return and try out the main menu next.

Over all it's ok we had 11 meals ordered 8of which were good the other 3 we're ok 2 we're Irish stew and we're bland no flavour at all and 1 liver and bacon liver very tough... the other meals no problems

Food is a little bit and miss, can be crowded and ok atmosphere but nothing bad but not amazing either. Good for an ok family meal but lacks atmosphere and some food portions are massive, others tiny, can be a bit got and miss. Good staff.

Great adult meals, kids meals better avoided. Some good ales.

I think the owners need to look up the definition of the word 'gastro' food as that is most certainly not what they serve here. Good pub grub maybe. But since when has fish and chips, burgers and chips and ham, egg and chips been gastro?
