The Blake Arms in Northumberland

Wow, the halloumi fries were delicious, i asked for them to be battered and they come hot and crispy the blake arms had no problem doing that. They are amazing, aswell the oreo milkshake was superb and nice and thick along with great amounts of flavour definitely will be buying again

The Blake has improved leaps and bounds since the new owners took over. The food is excellent the beer is too. There's often some kind of entertainment on and there's a bouncy castle outside in an enclosed bit so you can hoy the kids out there for a bit of quiet time with your partner. They've formed great links with the local community.They we're involved with the Seghill Gala and have recently dropped the silliness over parking which is a great help when visiting the Docs. Another recent idea was to start doing breakfasts which I'm sure will go down well with patrons. All in all a great little pub who's staff will bend over backwards to ensure you have a fantastic time there. Well worth a visit!.

Usually The Blake is really good, however, I ordered the Nachos, and other items for other people. They were ok. The Nachos though, when I opened them, there was only chilli beef and cheese (cheddar!!!). So I rang the pub, to ask where the salsa, and guacamole was, only to find out the kitchen were out of stock and didn’t bother ringing me to let me know. Consequently, the Nachos were really dry, and uninteresting! Really let down, cos they are usually spot on.

We went there and the meal was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful 🙂. The menu had meals very different to the ones you usually get. Thank you 😊

Nipped in for a quick pint so no food and it was 11.30 so quiet nice pint though staff really nice

If I could give this place well the manager zero stars I would I’ve drank in there all my life and no problems until it was taken over and he was manager it’s seems a lot of people have had problems with him mainly women my son almost died after a night out in there outside the pub after drinking h there all night when a lad came in starting trouble which Dan done nothing about and my son was hit knocked out cold and hospitalised with a bleed on the brain since then myself and my son have been permanently barred when we for victims of a crime that was committed outside of theses premises the rest of the staff have been nothing but nice but there was complaints from the start with this guy absolute narcissist who gets pleasure from picking on women!

What a wonderful 5.5 hours we had at the Blake Arms! We came for lunch and stayed for the afternoon taking the opportunity for our kids to enjoy the special event activities on at the back with assault course, bouncy castle and face painting. The staff were wonderful and friendly, and the good was awesome! 10/10 and I'm already looking forward to my next return!

Nice pub. Manager very nice. Food was hot good service. Chips a little overdone bit rubbery also scampi overdone. Fish was beautiful. Burger was really nice.

Lovely little pub with a great atmosphere for the fortnightly Buskers & Broth on a Tuesday. Great support from the crowd and a great variety of talent. Really friendly bar staff and nice and clean. Will definitely be back for food.... it looked amazing.

Sunday lunch was fantastic, we had Trio of Meat and Lamb, while my son had Fish and chips. Excellent portions, all cooked and tasted fantastic. All washed down with a lovely variety of home made puddings. Will definitely be back

Me and my family just had a delicious Sunday lunch at the Blake. The food was such good value for money, adults and children all loved the food. The supersize giant Yorkshire pudding was great, and well worth the extra money… it was the size of a football. Well done to the chef and we’ll definitely be back.

Great service good food bit on the expensive side for a local bar restaurant but good portion sizes try the barbecue burger

Oh dear, there's nothing worse than a dry lasagne with burnt cheddar on top. I thought the first time may have been an oversight, but, apparently not. No bechamel sauce, just dry mince. Wasn't impressed with the tuna melt either. All dry and flavourless, sorry.

took my dad there as we had heard good things. we weren’t disappointed. the sunday lunch was amazing. i had trio of meats and my dad had beef and all the meats were all cooked perfectly. the veg was great too and lots of variety- peas, carrots, swede, mash, roasties, cauliflower cheese, cabbage, stuffing. my dad said it’s the best sunday dinner he has had out, which given that he is 75 is quite the compliment. was reasonably priced as well, especially considering we both cleared our plates! the team there were lovely too. will definitely be going back again!

Went here today as being recommended by a friend, we booked for 5 adults and 4 children. We are far from the fussy type and this is the first ever review we have written but felt we needed to. One of the trio dinners come without the collyflower cheese and we had found not 1 but 2 hairs in it. All the dinners were missing the stuffing, they did however bring a plate of some out. The Yorkshire puddings were all burnt to a crisp and even some of the reviews people are leaving on here you can see the Yorkshires are burnt. The play area in the back is dated and quite frankly dangerous for small children. Hate to say it but we shall not be returning and would not recommend to anyone else.

Great pub. Loads of free parking. Seating area outside the front aswell as garden out the back with kids slide and swing. And a bouncy castle! Food was amazing! Large portion for the small price. Drinks very reasonably priced. Would recommend chilli nachos serving is huge and has a great kick! Kids menu great aswell and the garden out back for kids is a big plus

Its a really lovely local pub. We were seen to by very friendly lady who was really helpful and polite. Food came really hot and fresh, tastes great and a big quantity. Too much for me to eat but a great size for my husband. The pub itself was clean and has a great outdoor space for the kids to play and be safe, with it fenced off. They have a wooden play frame and a bouncy castle which I know my kids will love. We've booked in again after testing to food out tonight, but for a Sunday lunch which we feel like we can bring our kids along for as I know they'll be happy being outside playing while we wait for food to come out. We very recently moved to the area and it's great that we have somewhere we can now walk to, that we both enjoyed. It's unusual for us both to leave full and both feeling pleased with our choices in meals. I had messaged on Facebook to ask times they did food beforehand and I got a response very quickly with all the information I'd asked for. The other really good thing is they offer kids eat for £1 during school holidays, which is a great help when things are so expensive these days. Think this will become our go to place for pub food. Just been to the Blake for lunch , my husband got the quarter pounder, and I got the home made curry, both were delicious, and very well presented, and big portions, can’t wait to go back Sunday and try the Sunday lunch

Absolutely amazing Sunday roast, would highly recommend- one of the best I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere for the Newcastle match shown on numerous televisions. Drinks good value and friendly staff.

Lovely fresh Sunday lunch today. Nice to see the pub busy and wait time wasn't overly long. Table service if required or order at the bar. Tasty gravy if a little thin for our liking and burnt Yorkshire puds today. Lovely 4 veg with mashed and crispy roast potatoes. Disappointing I wasn't allowed to order a kid's meal, especially handy for those with poor appetite, illness or pregnant ladies etc. Small lunch was too big luckily we take Tupperware with us now. Will return.

Lovely pub getting back to its best

Visiting from Portsmouth to spend Christmas etc with my girlfriend and decided to pop over for a drink. Had a great time at the 80's night on Friday. Lovely pub, great hosts/staff/customers

Very nice, clean and a good pint. Sat in the beer garden which is a nice sun trap. Excellent selection on beers and ales.

What a hidden gem this is. beautiful Sunday dinner and pudding, lovely surroundings, reasonably priced, very pleasant staff and we will definitely be going back an easy 4 star plus and if the same next time may well be a five.. And I will put photo on next time..Well I went back a few more times and it hasn't disappointed food is fantastic and staff equally so and like I said it getting a five star from me. Roast dinners on a Sunday are fantastic, very tasty especially the lamb.

Hadn't been for a while but been twice in a week and enjoyed both visits. Good choice of beers very pleasant landlord (a dying breed) and nice surroundings. Well worth a visit.

Had a really well cooked steak, rare, new chef is excellent, staff really welcoming, all is good 😁😁

Excellent lunch time menu. We had Scampi and choice of chips. Me, I took the fat chips. These were brilliant. Good pint of Timothy Taylors. There was a box if toys for our small people! Will certainly be back.

Lovely friendly service. Nice food and great little selection of kids toys and colouring for babies and toddlers. Will definitely be back!

Nice decor and atmosphere. There were a couple of issues with the Sunday lunch but all our concerns were resolved satisfactorily. Will be back for another try very soon.

We came in for food this evening with our 1.5 year old daughter. We were instantly made welcome, the service was fantastic, and there was a basket of toys for little ones to play with. We had a couple of tapas dishes which came out really quickly and tasted quite good, would definitely come back again. One of the downsides is a lack of accessable toilet or changing area for babies, but this is apparently going to change (they had to get rid of the existing table during the change in ownership since it was unsafe).

Exelent lovely staff recomend it for partys the hot buffet is second to non I wish the family all the luck in the world kind and caring xxx

Had an excellent Sunday lunch at the Blake Arms today. Very good portions of everything including meat (not the thin slices you normally get in pubs for Sunday lunch). Choose the pork for its great crackling. Vegetables had just the right crunchiness. Nice ambience and friendly efficient staff. All good. Will return!

Not long reopened with new owner, had a make over inside, pool tables gone, nice friendly staff, meals served 12 till 8 Tues. to Sat., Sunday lunch 12 till 4. Drinks and meals reasonably priced.

Doesn't serve food, freezing cold, 4 people in including landlord on a Sunday afternoon and dogs all over the place! Feel like an intruder in someone's home?
