Honestly you couldn't fault the food, but the menu was a little limited. The service was, well to be Frank, patchy. The table opposite us gave up waiting for their plates to removed, and the table behind us never got given a menu for 15mins after being seated. When we were given the desserts menu, we gave our choices and the girl twice came back to say the kitchen had run out of those dishes. I will admit it was a busy Friday night, but we had pre-booked and was told it was no problem. It definitely had the feeling of being a locals pub, which when you first walked in was a little daunting and very loud. Would I recommend this pub, hmm now there's a question. If you're happy with simply, honest grub then you can't go wrong, but then I think I have finer tastes these days.

Lovely lunch , very friendly hosts, had our dog with us snd water bowls provided for dogs . Which is a bonus’s d we will go back again soon .

Called in Easter Sunday on the off chance they could cater us for lunch. Had the warmest wel one for us and our dog, and the carvery was excellent. Definitely recommend.

I know the title of this review sounds iffy but it will save you disappointment in the long run especially if you want the Sunday carvery. Food is good but basic, my wife loved her carvery but I had a burger and that was also very good, as far as I could see the evening menu is the same as the daytime fair. The bar is very good and well stocked, treated myself to a Black Bottle whisky as well as the bitter, both were excellent. The young staff were attentive and couldn't do enough, a credit to the establishment.

enjoyed a stay in the no frills Bladnock last night.Friendly "local" atmosphere , nice meal at a very good oprice "friday is fish night! I stayed in room 3 with ensuite shower,sloping ceilings and quite compact but single bed comfy enough,hot tap needs a washer and Tv didnt want to show any channels but too tired to watch anyway! At £45 no breakfast is offered but local cafes available.

The menu describes its fish dish as freshly battered haddock. We were served frozen, breadcrumbed portions of reconstituted fish-something, along with frozen chips. The freshest part of the meal was the frozen peas! A joke in bad taste.

If you are looking for haute cuisine then thus is not the place. Not detracting from the food but you get good, hearty pub grub and a stinking price. All served in a lovely friendly environment. we HIGHLY recommend. Ps Saturday is curry night - priced at £7 per curry and Friday is fish night at just £6 ! Cannot speak for the fish but the curry was superb!

We came here after we had done the Bladnoch distillery tour but found the barman really friendly engaging and decided to stay, taxi home of course! The locals also really friendly and engaging! The burgers were great, we would definitely call here again. Thank you to the fantastic friendly Irish barman who really did extend the famous Irish welcome even though we were in Scotland!

We have been coming on holiday here for 5 years. We will always come to The Bladnoch Inn for drinks or food. In all my travels I have never had a friendlier welcome. Everything the owner and his team do is to make your visit a memorable one. The locals are great characters from the Laird to the barman. Everyone and everything is welcome. We have a dog. Food is fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. This is a proper old local pub.

Pub nice, waiter nice however service was very slow, nobody checked back in to see if everything was OK. Took over 20 mintues to clear dirty plates away. Food very average, the caverey meat was OK however the veg/potatoes/Yorkshire puddings were all frozen so we feel it was overpriced, children's food was all frozen I think for chips and a burger charging £7 is very excessive.

The food was ok, but they are suffering a bit with staff shortages and things took awhile to check back, arrive, etc. Portion sizes were large, but the taste felt average or mass-produced.

On the advise of the host of a nearby hotel we had an evening meal here. I had the gammon steak except it wasn’t a steak more like a thick piece of baked badly cooked. The vegetables and chips were a little over cooked BUT the Sunday carvery made up for it. The choice of meat was excellent and all meat was very well cooked. Vegetables were well cooked and you were abale to make a choice of what and how much you ate.A good selection of beers and other drinks at the Inn. So over all our meals were OK only because of the Sunday lunch.

Llegamos el viernes por la noche muy concurrida, sin reserva, un local se ofreció para comer en el bar para poder usar la mesa que había reservado para él. He pasado este lugar en el camino a puerto Patrick ayer, y que era muy atractiva, así que hoy llamamos para almorzar en 13 45 ... y ... Es un pub adecuado! ... taburetes madera adecuados en el bar, mesas de madera y el pub decorado con material efímero interesante y modo inteligente. Muy satisfechos mi Labrador fue permitido para sentarse por nosotros mientras que comimos.

Este es un hotel bien que en la carretera de Newton Stewart Whithorn. No usamos el restaurante pero comimos en el bar, el servicio, asientos y calidad era genial. La comida está bien preparada y servida caliente con el mínimo esperando. El ambiente es un poco raro pero esto sólo va a mejorar el lugar. El personal era agradable y servicial y bien informado. ¿Volvería? Sin duda.

Visited Bladnoch over new years 2014 as a party of 12 staying in rowellen house. our party found the inn lovely and charming the landlord was really nice. we went in there on new years eve and when the few locals at the bar went home it was just us and the landlord there and it was like we booked the place to ourselves! on the 2nd of Jan our party booked a table and we all agreed that it was very very good. Our B&B; hostess recommended this place and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is relatively small so you might want to book at busy times. We arrived on a Sunday evening and did not have difficulty getting a table. There was live music in the bar & they offer real ale (one on draft & others bottled). Our food was locally sourced, freshly cooked and delicious. There was a regular menu and specials. We had no room for dessert so cannot comment on this. They do Sunday roast lunches and are situated opposite the Bladnoch distillery

Visitamos este hotel hoy (domingo) y tenía al asador. Estaba delicioso. Hay una selección de carne asada, pollo, cerdo asado y sobresaliente y puedes tener una de estas dos o una combinación. sirve platos en caliente y tienes la opción de huevos duros patatas, patatas asadas, croquetas de patatas, un montón de diferentes verduras, salsas, yorkshire pudines, etc. y todo estaba muy caliente. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Un buen servicio con una sonrisa de todo el personal.

Relación calidad-precio, casi no se puede conseguir una cena de pescado para una fiver de llevar. Así que todo ese valor añadido de que se sirve en un agradable ambiente hogareño Inn. Siempre que me deje contentos de haber ido aquí para comer, así que si tu próximo Wigtown un viernes y hacer pop como pescado. The staff make you feel really welcome, the food is spot on, the drinks are good VFM and a good choice, overall a really good place to stay

Paramos aquí en 25 de mayo en viaje de regreso de la rotonda de Stranraer donde tuvimos fuimos andando desde Polpatrick encantador. Necesitábamos una buena pinta y comida servicio Total de reponer los tanques empobrecido. Llegamos con un perro, nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y sábado en la zona del bar. Tenía una pinta de Belhaven mejor, precioso. Tuve un filete de cadera que venía muy bien cocido con patatas fritas, como habíamos pedido y puré ... bien abundante. . Mis amigos pescado y patatas fritas eran también disfruté mucho + un asado del día. No podíamos administra una pud aunque el menú era muy tentador. Un buen pub en un lugar rural, sirviendo gente local, pero también ofrece una buena selección de comida al comercio del haz.

Disfrutamos de una magnífica cena aquí cuando se alojen en Wigtown cercano. El personal era amable y el servicio era rápido y atento, impresionante para un pub entorno! La comida era bastante buena, y las porciones son enormes. Compartimos el pan de ajo para empezar, y luego me costó terminar mi principal. Mi marido recomienda encarecidamente el Cranachan para el postre. Tenían una gran variedad de cervezas, vinos y sidras disponibles así como whisky, etc. Los baños están limpios y ordenados. Pub estaba bastante tranquilo mientras estuvimos allí, pero pocos más personas llegaban cuando nos fuimos. En general, una muy buena comida en un bonito pub, un gran lugar para tomar una bebida o una comida cuando se viaja por la zona.

Hemos comido aquí unas cuantas veces, la comida es buena. He pescado de ascendencia aquí, y el restaurante es un pequeño y acogedor lugar. la última vez que fuimos la cena un poco estropeado por algunos otros comensales que convertir la iluminación para completa sin preguntarnos si nos importara y estaban bastante ruidoso. Estamos aquí en vacaciones a finales de abril. No sé cómo alguien podría haber un problema con el servicio o menús. La señora que nos sirvió fue excelente, muy atento y amable. La comida era increíble tuvimos un cóctel de gambas y buñuelos haggis para empezar. Ambos tuvimos la cerveza fabulosa maltratada Hadock, patatas fritas y salsa Tarter casera. Eaten here on several occasions and never been disappointed. Food is usually based around local produce and is top notch. Family friendly as well. Stayed in the Inn on one occasion, rooms are basic but clean and good value. Great breakfast in the morning.
