The BlackStock in Islington

My Friday night out at the Blackstock was SO much fun with SO much dancing that I literally danced my necklace right off…! When I emailed to check if the staff had found it, they were unbelievably kind and told me that my ‘beautiful necklace was very safe’. They had it for me behind the bar. This pub is a BRILLIANT night out and run by the loveliest people. Thank you so much to The Blackstock staff!!! ❤️

A nice traditional establishment which offers a variety of beverages. The pub had an agreement with a takeaway restaurant in which you can order takeaway food to be brought into the pub. A great idea. Its a very popular venue with the LGBTQ community and is near to the tube /bus and rail station.

We went to this pub on Saturday evening and once during the week around late lunch. Both times there was a good atmosphere. Both the waiter and the guests were super nice. The prices are really quite reasonable for London. Always my pleasure.

Nice and cosy pub near Finnsbury Park station, the waiters were polite and very welcoming, the prices were decent. Just one thing though and excuse my French, but NEVER put water in a glass of red wine 🤓 I honestly don't know if it is something common here in the UK but oh my, please quit doing that guys 🙏

Avoid at all cost very arrogant staff member. Ask to use rest room was refused. Asked to buy a drink to use restroom was refused. Offered money to use restroom room refused. Mocked me when I told him I suffer from weak/over active bladder

Grumpy lady on the door spoilt the expirience. In reply to the owners reply yes there was a lady as she was checking stamps on hands from football fans.

This pub has everything you could ask for a warm atmosphere, great drinks, and a lively crowd, bouncer, who made our night even better. He was not only professional and efficient in handling the crowd but also friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience

One of the best things about this pub is the doorman Mo, always feel so safe and he is so lovely.

To be honest I feel compeled to write this review. This is my favourite pub for years. Came back from a last All points East drink and had the greatest time. The security always take care of us and deter danger most nights. You cannot put a price on security. Best in the late night biz - reason I come back

21.15 dressed in shorts and a clean polo shirt with company logo on. Told no workwear allowed??? So crossed over the road to Twelve pins to have the 1st of a few pints.

The bouncers at this venue are sexist, if you are a single boy or even a small group of boys you will be denied entry to the venue. Make sure to go with some girls if you want to get in. They were unnecessarily rude and aggressive towards me until my girlfriend arrived at the pub.

Tuesday night was lit at this pub, and the friendly bouncer gave me and my friends water as we left and ensured we were safe.

My friends and I randomly came to this pub and we had a good time. The overall service was great, from the bar staff, to the bouncer, everyone’s very sweet and calm. Had a good night👍

Absolutely appalling, please don’t bring your guy friends as they will turn them down. They are only happy to let girls in. The moment they saw two of my guy friends they said no to us but when me and my other female friend came in 10 min before they were happy to let us in. Hate this sexism towards men and trying to use girls as pawns as the security guys were very friendly before they saw the guy friends. Furthermore, I saw other girls being let in the time between. Look lower for other disappointed customers with a similar experience to mine. Ladies avoid.

Amazing. Security is so good always feel safe. Staff is so nice. Make me feel safe or protective. Look after drinks and always make sure girls always safe and never harassed.

Able to order gluten free pizza which was incredible, prices were very good and incredible by London standards!

The atmosphere was great and the door staff made sure anyone that was too drunk or rowdy weren’t allowed in. Bar staff super friendly as well.

Nice pub let down by an angry bouncer who seemed vehement to start a confrontation with us. I was originally let in wearing tracksuit bottoms by another bouncer. We ordered some pizzas, which I collected outside and when I went to go back in angry bouncer began giving off that his colleague had let me in wearing trackies - I ignored it and went inside. Then, when leaving, he starts mouthing off whilst we are still in earshot, continuing to give off about our attire and saying to another bouncer that we only turned up for the football and then left (which we did); acting as if this is a problem and that we should have shown some form of loyalty to the pub by staying longer. Clearly he hasn’t got anything better to do with his evening than look for a fight - shouldn’t really expect much more from meathead bouncers to be honest.

I visited BlackStock to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We reserved a table for more than 10 people and because the pub was not too busy, we had a lot of space to play games and enjoy the evening. The music was a mix of pop and hiphop. The staff were polite and friendly. I didn’t order food but the drinks were good enough

Really nice atmosphere and great staff.

The only food option is pizza delivered from a local source and we not allowed to bring a snack from outside while we were drinking.

As a local, I have heard that the bouncers are nasty. Despite this, I gave it a go. Unfortunately, what I heard was true. They were very rude and on a power trip. The management have clearly just given them authority to do as they please. Avoid if you want to have a relaxed night where you are not spoken to like a criminal.

Great pub I visit London every couple of months and as a single travelling woman i find the Black stock friendly welcoming and safe both during the day and at night . It can get very busy as open late and DJ plays fab music but all staff especially the security are on the ball polite and speak to customers with respect . Never experienced any arguments. Although no food option Food can be ordered for delivery from near by pizza place to be eaten in pub Definitely one to visit Thank you to all. Staff Karen

Amazing venue to say the least, I would like to express my gratitude to the security who helped my girlfriend by feeling safe especially against pickpockets who operate in the locale area whilst out celebrating on st patricks days. I believe the name of the gentleman was Ahmed. Great example of a vigilant door supervisor.

We had a great time, as always ! That’s why we come back every year, all the way from Belgium 😄. The staff is friendly, the owner ( lady) always comes to say hello and makes us feel welcome ! The atmosphere and music (DJ) is great, and the customers are friendly and into a nice chat. See U again next time, for sure !

Im from states, came to London on vacation, first time visited blackstock pub, asian bouncer, mo, on the door was very kind and professional, my drunk friend needed assistance, he handled it calmly and safely will definitely visit blackstock again. Felt secure.

Always pop in before a game at the Emirates needed to show match ticket before the game.

I had a booking on a busy match day Sunday. When we arrived at the entrance it was at full capacity, once I mentioned I had a booking, the lady at the door was very accommodating and helped us. We had a great table and enjoyed the matches on screen. The bartenders were lovely and patient even though it was very busy. Great service and experience!

Had a birthday celebration here and had an amazing time! Really nice atmosphere good range of beers and then a great dance later on. Got loads of compliments on the venue from friends who said they had a great night

I had my 30th Birthday at The BlackStock and they were so responsive and helpful in lead up, they were very accommodating. The were also really helpful on the night as well. The atmosphere was great, especially for January and once the DJ came on, it was a really fun party environment. It felt like a really nice local and friendly environment and I would definitely go back. Thank you BlackStock for a smashing night!!

Been here countless times and I always have a great time! Always a good crowd inside. Haven’t had to contact management until a few weeks ago. I was helped to make a booking and felt management did all they could to make my night happen. Unfortunately I didn’t get to attend that night due to work, however, the booking system works well. I have attended previously without bookings too- think it depends on the season

I came here on a weekday and had a great time with my friends, lovely staff very friendly especially Orhan super nice to us. We also ordered pizza from Yard Sale literally a few minutes away from the pub. We’ll be back for a weekend definitely!
