Really cute pub, with super friendly service and delicious food :)

Why? Why do you have to be so far for me? 6,870 km to Stony Plain, AB, Canada. This could be my new spot. It has everything you want. Awesome food. Great service. And such a cool atmosphere! The French onion soup should be illegal. It’s to die for. We stayed around the corner, and walked down each night once we found it. So cool that it has live musicians as well! Thoroughly enjoyed, and now on my will return list. Thank you to the staff that made it enjoyable. Cheers!

We've been coming here for years for food and drink. Always a great experience and they are really nice with our daughter who loves the sausages.

This pub is beautiful, the facade is gorgeous and the inside has so much charm. I think the service could improve and food wise it was fine. It was busy when we got there and it got even busier after 30 minutes. I would recommend it!

Had heard about this fabled pub and finally got to experience it. Did it live upto the hype surrounding it? Delighted to say, YES. Everything was as I like it, great ambience setting the mood, superb pint of pride, exquisite Thai food, attentive, friendly staff . All in all, a superb boozer. Can't wait for my next visit.

One of my favorite pubs in London, not only because we have been musicians there for years, the locals and the staff make this pub one of the most family-friendly and welcoming we have ever been to, the food is excellent, the place, although rather small, is charming and friendly. And of course every Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, live music.

Great pub with really good food. We ate here a few times on our trip. The seabass was my favorite.

First time here and I received a warm welcome from the young staff who had time for a wee chat and were just very helpful and engaging, I chose the roast chicken which was great and the Guinness also excellent, Highly recommended!

I have been twice to this pub whilst staying in a nearby hotel and had excellent food and service both times. The food is delicious and so good to see independent home cooked food rather than chain pub food. My first visit I had Salt and Chilli Chicken as a starter (see picture) and it was really good and a decent size too. For my main I had the beef burger which in my excitement to eat it I forgot to take a picture! It was simply lovely. This week I had whitebait starter (see picture) and the Thai Green Chicken Curry with jasmine rice. Again I was too busy tucking into the superb curry before I realised I'd missed taking a photo again! The staff here are so friendly and I will enjoy chatting with them in the weeks/months ahead when working in London. Thanks to everyone for all their hard work and food so far. Can't wait to get back there next week and try something else on the menu (I will try to get a picture of the main course this time before I eat it!).

Familly friendly pub with very nice atmosphere. The fish n chips are tasty and quite big. It is a good idea if you stay in the area.

Beautiful pub at the heart of Rotherhithe. Plenty of comfortable seating inside and a front and back terrace. As pretty inside as outside on the picture. For the price I’d make that frozen strawberry daiquiri double the size, but nothing is perfect. Looking forward to trying the Sunday Roast.

Authentic pub! Brilliant food, perfect symbiosis of original English food with Thai influences. Worth the short ferry ride from hip Canary Wharf to the Hilton. Almost only visited by locals. A real tip if you want to leave the tourist crowds in the evening!

Just dropped in for a drink ,good ambiance

Great local bar with amazing service. Everyone is nice and the vibe is very welcoming. I had the burger and fries they were delicious. The draft beer was also excellent. I’m staying at the Hilton next door but def eating there for the rest of my trip. Hilton restaurant does not even come close and it’s double the price.

Friendly local pub, good food and 🍺 🍻

Probably the best pub experience we’ve had living in the UK over the last year. We did not have a reservation and they very kindly made room for the 9 of us, including 5 kids. The servings were generous for the price, and we were impressed with the amount of meat in the steak and ale pie. Perhaps most impressive were the pad Thai and curry dishes, not typically found in traditional pubs but would compete well against a Thai restaurant.

If you are looking for an original pub experience with local beer, you will find it at The Blacksmiths Arms. Good beer and good food as well. They offer British and Thai food. Accessibility is guaranteed.

5* for this place that I loved! The cuisine, the adorable waitresses, the typical atmosphere, the affordable prices... everything is there to spend a more than pleasant time around a tasty dish at the right prices! If you can, come on Friday evening and Sunday evening because concerts are offered there :)

I was doing the Thames Path walk from Greenwich to London Bridge so this was a great pit stop for drinks and bathroom break. The bar staff were extremely friendly and I would recommend this place.

I had a delightful experience at the Blacksmiths Arms pub in Rotherhithe! The place exudes a homely vibe with great character, making you feel right at home. The staff were all wonderful, with Lily being exceptionally helpful and friendly. She made the visit even more enjoyable with her attentive service. As for the food, it was simply great, offering both quality and taste that left me thoroughly satisfied. Highly recommend for a cozy evening out or a hearty meal in a charming setting!

Great and wholesome food here and a nice pub atmosphere in general. The Thai curry is very nice and so are the Sunday roasts!

Great drinks, food, personnel, and atmosphere.

We went to this pub this weekend, I was running the London 2024 Marathon, and I must say the food, service, staff and the locals make this pub a brilliant place, staff happy to squeeze us in, very welcoming and happy. Went in on Sunday evening, and locals made me feel special after running the 26.2 miles. Great proper little London pub. Couldn't fault it. Thank you for a couple of pleasant evening. Wish all the staff well.

This venue produced some of the worst service I have ever experienced in the UK. Went to lunch on Sunday 7 April with two others. We ordered food and, after nearly an hour of waiting, had to ask where it was three times before finally being told that the waiter had ‘forgotten to put the order in.’ Meanwhile, everyone around us was being served their food. There was no apology; instead, we were made to feel that we were the problem for complaining about it, with a snowflake waitress complaining about how we spoke to her. After the main course, the staff took ages to give us the dessert menu. Their attitude was appalling throughout and, despite claiming to be busy, the staff seemed to us to be permanently chatting to their colleagues. We asked three times for the bill and only finally received it when we threatened to walk out of the restaurant. The promised discount for the late food took ages to be processed. The staff in this venue seem to have an appalling attitude and to lack basic training and customer service skills. Very disappointing indeed. The roast dinners were ok but overpriced and the service was woeful. I am adding this paragraph by way of response to the below response offered by the pub. If your internet is so poor that your staff cannot communicate with your kitchen,, that sounds to me like a ‘you’ problem that you need to fix. Or your staff need to show some initiative and pick up the phone to the kitchen to check that orders have been processed properly. I should add that we asked three times about the whereabouts of our food and the first two times, we were fobbed off (basically lied to) and told ‘it’s coming.’The third time we asked and we were told the staff member ‘forgot to put the order through.’ I did not call anybody names, and frankly your staff need to learn to show respect to the customers who ultimately are paying their wages. Criticism when food does not appear after a hour is perfectly justified. You probably also need to train your staff properly in how to handle difficult situations.

The food was excellent! I had the seabass and it was yummy. I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl and I have seen it change many times, but this is by far the best it’s been in my opinion😋 The staff are very friendly too!

As in past stays at the Hilton Doubletree Docklands Hotel I made my way over to this great local pub several times. Absolutely a great, welcoming place, either for a pint (or two) conversing with the locals or for excellent meals. The staff are all extremely friendly and engaging. It was two years since I last visited the area and the wonderful young lady Stevie recognized me and made me feel right at home. If you are looking for a traditional London pub I highly recommend The Blacksmiths Arms.

As with many others posting reviews, I was staying next door at the DoubleTree and fancied a proper pint and a good meal. Couldn't have asked for any more from the Blacksmith's. The service was friendly and helpful, the beer was good, and the burger was exactly what I was in the mood for. Delicious. Would have happily stayed for a few more beers if it wasn't for an early start the following day!

Nice and lovely pub in the area... Very local and seems like everyone knows everybody... Like the bartenders remember their customers name..and have a nice conversation. They have live music on Sundays which is amazing.. If they had more vegetarian options..we would frequent a lot more 😋

Went across the river for Sunday Roast, and it was very delicious, both the beef and lamb options.

Just had a Thai green curry here with some spring rolls with sweet Thai chilli and it was absolutely divine that I had to run here and write a review for anyone looking for a nice pub that also does great food too! Yummy yummy

Don’t go there if you’re looking for a good food but it is really good to have a drink

This is a hidden gem in the area. Elegant, cozy atmosphere, with excellent service. A variety of wines, beers and cocktails is served. The food is of a much better quality than most pubs in England. The only area of improvement in my view are deserts. I have tried them all and unfortunately they do not achieve similar standards. Especially the sticky toffee was quite dry and lacked flavour.

Main dish, service and atmosphere were amazing! The sea bass in particular was a delight of flavour! However the pear tart and the sticky toffee were not great!

Stumbled across this lovely pub as I was staying the hotel next door and looking for somewhere nice for dinner. The staff were lovely and friendly, managed to find me a table even though I hadn't booked, and the service was excellent. The menu has a decent selection including vegetarian dishes and vegan options. It was a Monday night and the place was quite busy and the atmosphere was lively and friendly. Wish I had a local like this, and highly recommend it especially if you're staying at the Doubletree by Hilton Docklands Riverside hotel and want to eat and drink somewhere with a bit more life to it!

A pretty decent pub that’s not in the middle of a big thoroughfare so it’s got a cosy, relaxed vibe. The bar just put like an island, splitting the space in two. Warm wooden tables with decent amounts of space on the one side and more bar-like space on the other. The staff are fine, not overly-friendly but quick and efficient. The food comes quickly too. Drinks wise, the selection won’t blow you away but there is a good amount on tap (cider, ale, etc). Similarly the food isn’t anything to write home about, but things like chips with truffles and Parmesan are only 50p more than regular chips and a decent size. All in all, a nice place to hang out with friends for a casual evening at a decent price.

A rare treat of a non chain traditional pub in London with good food.

28-May-23: Visited for drinks on a warm Sunday during a Thames Path Walk. Nice welcome. Good drinks. Comfy seating. Had other plans for lunch so didn't eat here but the menu looked fab. Would happily return and next time would stop for lunch.

This place is fantastic. I love the live music on Friday and Sunday evenings and the food is great too! Incredibly beautiful facade and a wonderful area for a river walk before or after the pub!

Op een vrijdagavond langsgeweest: live music, aardig personeel, leuke menukaart (Thais georiënteerd) en uiteraard genoeg te drinken. Eten was prima, een klein misverstandje over één gerecht snel naar tevredenheid opgelost en redelijk geprijsd. Eind september nog net mogelijk om buiten te zitten

An excellent pub for an evening meal. Ended up going here for 3 nights when staying at a hotel nearby. They have just put a stake sandwich on the menu. Recommend, very nice when ordered along with blue cheese inside the steak sandwich, served with chips.

Was walking past on a Saturday afternoon and popped in for a pint. It is was a lovely old pub with great character what with the wooden panneling on the walls and black and white pictures. It wasn't very busy but assume they fill up a bit in the evening with people coming in for their blend of English & Thai food. They had WIFi which was easy to log into and served a super cold lager. Would definatly go again.

A really nice traditional old style pub, friendly atmosphere with a good selection at both the bar and on the menu. Although I didn't eat, the restaurant area looked really welcoming and the food smelt and looked great on its way past me! I'll definitely be back and will most certainly like to try dining at this lovely oasis of 'Great Publiness', so close to the riverside and marina walks.

Visited The Blacksmith Arms on a Friday night. Very friendly, busy local pub which is very close to the Doubletree Hilton where we were staying. Fantastic atmosphere with the live music. Very busy with locals and tourists alike. The food was excellent as was the service and the general running of the pub. Will definitely return on our next visit to London.

We were recorded this pub by a friend who said they had good live music on Fridays but were sadly disappointed. The music acts are worse than a drunken karaoke and the volume is so deafening I think my ears are still ringing. Unfortunately this place is no longer what it supposedly once was :(

Fish n chips... and for those who enjoy a beer, I counted at least a dozen on tap....

We arrived after the kitchen had closed (on a Sunday night!) but were still welcomed with open arms (AND swiftly served our glass of wine and pint ‘n fish ‘n chips!). Very friendly staff - and Landlord - in short a great base from which to explore Rotherhithe (or the Docklands) and very handy for anyone staying at the Hilton up the road (which we were). A REAL London Pub to come home to!

Ci sono stato con degli ex colleghi per un ritrovo. Classico pub inglese vicinissimo al Tamigi in un tranquillo quartiere. Tipico cibo da cucina inglese , servizio dai tempi Giusti, prezzi relativamente ragionevoli per essere a Londra... Nulla da ridire, insomma. Consigliato prenotare. Ci tornerei ? Probabilmente sì.

Overcharged for what we got. We waited an hour for 3 burgers to arrive (it was close to 9pm by the time they arrived and we got there around 7.45pm).. in the meantime watching everyone else around us getting served and being asked if dessert was needed. Nobody came to check with us until we were so hungry got up to ask about our order. The staff kindly offered £9.29 off (not sure how this was decided) but the overall experience could have been much better. After all £15 a burger is not exactly 'cheap'. We also asked for tap water (on top of beers) and saw the water being poured into a jug from the tap, but what we didn't realise until we left was that we were charged £3 for 'still water'! The place looked nice, the atmosphere is nice, everyone else seemed to be enjoying their time and getting their order... but we probably won't be coming back.

Ordered the “gourmet” fish burger for £14.95 and waited 1 hour for it to arrive. No apologies from staff and fish burger was mostly batter with one sad piece of lettuce and endless chips that were clearly frozen. Not worth the price and poor service. Pub’s atmosphere and decor is otherwise nice. Such a shame service and food is so poor.

They have expanded the number of tables they have outside in front of the pub which is a sunny spot in the afternoon. Friendly helpful staff, good beers and food, a nice quiet pub for those that appreciate it.

Amazing place, foods great and staff are all amazing. I had the prawn Panang curry and i really enjoyed it.

Reasonable food, I had seabass with crushed potatoes. It could have fine with less oil. The main was served quickly, however, the desert....... Once a group of students arrived, I have been waiting for 35 min to order it, not sure i will succeed !

Der Pub lag ganz in der Nähe von unserem Aufenthaltsort und deswegen sind wir eher zufällig da gelandet. Leider waren wir etwas spät es spielte echt klasse Livemusik der junge Mann war toll.Die Stimmung war super. Hätten gerne dort gegessen es roch soo lecker ,aber leider waren wir nach zehn Uhr da und die Küche geschlossen (klar auch die möchten irgendwann mal Feierabend machen).

Very nice pub, with a very good staff. Prices are regular and the leek soup was very good 😊 Nice music all the way until end of our visit. Toilets are well maintained. Place is busy which is great and we were there from 4 pm on Sunday ☀️ There are some seats outside from both sides of the pub. There are seats for around 70-90 visitors. At least one tv so for sure some sports events are played out there which is nice. If you live close by it is definitely good pub to visit and chill 😎

Our need for a late lunch and a pint on a Saturday had us looking for something good. Canary Wharf is mostly tourist and business-focused, but we wanted something more local. This pub definitely filled the bill. The barkeeps were very friendly and helpful. The food (sausage and mash; a side of chips) were very well presented and delicious. The overall atmosphere is great and the decor has that perfect touch if classic and comfort. Aside from the fact that the tap is rather limited and they didnt have BT Sports (so no footy on a Saturday afternoon?!), we still would recommend.
