Had been into this place before infrequently for a flat white. So thought I’d try a sandwich. Waited at the counter for service. The only sole customer in the store had left two minutes before. A customer entered, came up to the side of the counter and asked if they could pay less for their food or call it quits as they had been charged twice for their coffee. He realised I had been waiting so apologised. That was the only reason I received service from one out of three people behind the counter. They were happy to make me a cheese and ham sandwich which is not on their menu. They could do Emmental and whatever ham they said they had on sourdough. Cost £6.50 and flat white £3.00. I was asked while I was waiting for my sandwich if I’d paid by the lady who had already took my payment. The instruction to make the coffee was given once I had my sandwich in hand. The bill was then rung up and I was asked to pay...by the lady who had taken my payment. The ‘sandwich’ was appalling and it had no butter. I went back inside as it fell apart and asked if they could put butter on. The manager tersely announced that they don’t serve butter with their sandwiches. I said I didn’t realise as I thought I’d be asked when ordering. She barked at the guy who made the sandwich to get the butter out the fridge. He took out a plastic supermarket punnet of sliced cheese. The manager said ‘no butter!’ took a block of butter out, cut some slices of butter placed them on the sandwich closed it and gave it back to me. True story. BTW, for £6.50 I’d expect my Emmental to be sliced off a proper piece of room temperature cheese and not pulled from a pre-sliced pack straight out of a Tesco express. Where I’m pretty sure the token piece of ham was sourced from. The butter was so hard I couldn’t even try and spread it myself with my fingers. The sandwich was awful with dry tasteless bread. The coffee; adequate. Not what it used to be which is why I paid the extra. Daylight robbery. Mainly shocked at myself for not asking for a refund Side note: I went to this shop to support a small business and not a chain. I’m not working due to the current climate so this was also meant to be a treat for myself.

Expensive place in an area where people seem to accept paying a lot of money for average food providing the location and the products on the shelves are trendy enough. Moroccan tagine contains low quality meat and very basic ingredients yet the price for one person portion on a 250g. container is £8.95. Service is often unfriendly as reported in previous reviews.

Pedí un batido de chocolate con leche para mi hija pequeña, que había estado diciendo durante años que le gustaría ir allí. ¡Era demasiado caro a las 5! ! ! Fue el batido más pequeño que había visto en mi vida y estaba tibio y, en mi opinión, la leche tenía un sabor agrio. Volví y me pregunté si podía cambiar por un batido, ya que a ninguno de nosotros le gustó el sabor, me dijeron que no se podía hacer porque un batido costaba más. Entonces se le preguntó “¿Qué quieres? " dos veces. Mi única respuesta después del mal servicio al cliente fue: Me gustaría un reembolso, por favor, fue un NO rotundo. Luego me preguntaron "¿Qué no me gusta con un batido de leche? Tiene leche, chocolate y helado ”. Absolutamente pobre mal servicio al cliente. EVITAR A TODO COSTO. No es de extrañar que High Street esté luchando por mantenerse con vida. No recomendaría este lugar. Mal batido, peor servicio.

The coffee was served in the smallest takeaway cup and was more expensive than other places. The lady who served me was not the friendliest. The coffee also was average, nothing special.

Parece que cada vez que te das la vuelta, alguien abre un nuevo y elegante café / delicatessen de alta gama que ofrece muchos productos frescos, exóticos y saludables que no puedes encontrar en las tiendas de comestibles normales. Pero la mayoría de ellos de alguna manera creen que su comportamiento necesita reflejar sus productos, y por lo tanto, junto con una clientela sofocante, tienen un personal igualmente sofocante. Bueno, como su nombre lo indica, Black Truffle es un hallazgo raro en la medida en que su comida y bebida son excepcionales y su personal es servicial, amable y conocedor. Bueno buscando cafetería/deli, un café y leche, pan, alternativas de ingredientes super fresco y sano inc grandes opciones de ensaladas. Mi aguacate de centeno con semillas y dos huevos escalfados era precioso. . . Todos contentos con la comida y la relación calidad-precio. . . Pero. . . Muchos asientos en la llegada. Elegimos los asientos ventanas, visitó el contador y devueltas a los asientos. Los dos servidores estaban charlando entre sí de forma nos preguntábamos sobre y descubrieron que era el contador de servicio. Yo puse nuestros pedidos de café y pedimos un menú. Uno entre tres! Un servidor no venir y tomar nuestro pedido. Mi huevos escalfados eran duras, es una pena. Este lugar necesita un gerente y un poco más de amor al cliente! ! ! Es un lugar con excelente comida y opciones de compras, pero con muchos cafés y restaurantes en el carril de Inglaterra, Haverstock Hill y zona de Primrose Hill, necesitan trabajar más duro para mantener a la gente de volver! ! !

커피 빵 식사 모두 판매하는 카페인데 커피를 주문했는데 직원이 까먹어서 늦게 나와서 그냥 테이크어웨이했어요. 직원이 좀 대충일하는거같아요, 커피맛도 그냥 그래요 빵도 그냥 무난하구요, 맛있는 커피와 빵을 드시고 싶다면 추천하지않습니다

Lovely little place and shop. We nipped in for a quick dinner bite and enjoyed our food. Great shopping selection and very interesting item on the the shelves. Limited seating space though. Would be nice to come with group of friends.

I love the sandwiches at black truffle - nice spices, great quality and ingredients. Super cosy atmosphere! Would love to get more with truffle ;)

devo dire che per essere in una grande metropoli ,una accoglienza così professionale ma nel contempo familiare non mi era capitato da tempo , dopo esserci accomodati un cameriere dai modi molto professionali e dal sorriso che era più dolce dei buonissimi dolcetti esposti , ci ha portato 2 cappuccini non buoni DI PIU' , cremosi e caldi al punto giusto,scoprendo poi che questo ragazzo dal nome Andrea ,era italiano , ha fatto forse di questo posto un'accoglienza ancora più bella, ne avremmo bisogno noi in italia di ragazzi così gentili e professionali ma senza abbandonare la semplicità della persona , Grazie Andrea , buon lavoro

On the few occasions I have been there by myself or with my children the service was very slow regardless whether I ordered over the counter or sitting at a table. The concept of the shop is quite good especially for its location, however, the items are absolute overpriced. Living locally it absolutely stunns me that business owners expect customers to pay with an increase of up to 60-80% on the price tags compared to recommended retail prices. I am prepared to pay a little bit more as you seem to have to in this area, however, with such a price increase it feels like a complete rip off!

A gem off a cafe located a short walk from Primrose Hill. Really great coffee, a delicious selection of cakes, yummy salads and a whole lot more. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back!

We'd been walking for ages via Primrose Hill in the freezing cold and came across The Black Truffle, I've known Englands lane for years and it's a lovely little spot with delicious bakeries & great shops. The staff at Black Truffle really made it, they were super welcoming even more so to my pup (Japanese Spitz aged 2) where as other places seemed accepting but secretly unhappy to have a dog join us indoors (god forbid) We had their delicious cakes & topped with their extra chocolatey Hot Chocolate, plus the staff gave Koda extra cuddles and even offered him water and were happy for him to sit and watch. Plus they sold Organic Indian Ghee (I've been searching for this for AGES)

Nice food shop with small table, i suggest to go for a brunch and eat a balsamic soup with a sandwich.

The barista here knows his stuff. Best coffee and a good offer of food and deli products. Relaxing outside in good weather watching the crowd go by.

Cute little neighborhood market that offers pastries, sandwiches, and other ready to eat foods. Coffee is decent, and I liked the juices. Service can be inconsistent when it gets busy.

The salads on the hottest day of the year were uncovered and not refridgerated and were covered in flies. I pointed this out and they did nothing.I then chose a pre made salad that was in the fridge. Turkey salad for £7. It was very bland and had one piece of turkey in it. The tables are dirty, staff not exactly professional,Very expensive dirty place

Spent a week in London and ended up having my morning coffee and breakfast here twice. The service and coffee was very good, the breakfast - Fantastic! We really enjoyed the avocado and egg on toast, held us over for better part of the day while we enjoyed the sights of London. I will definitely be back. Keep up the good work Black Truffle!

We have previously enjoyed Black Truffle, but this breakfast was a disaster. Unacceptably tepid flat white coffee, followed by boiled eggs which were hard boiled and sent back. Replacement eggs were delivered, and they were raw - and I mean raw. I said that was enough for me, and I was leaving. One member of staff apologised and gave us our coffees free (and the eggs were not charged, of course). The other members of staff looked like it was just a big inconvenience that I had complained.I ask myself, why bother with food and treatment here when I can go a few doors down to Chamomile for the best eggs (particulaly scrambled) in Belsize!

I loovve this place - good for a coffee or healthy quick snack. All really good quality and great range. A little over priced but to be expected from the area. On my favourites list.

We came here for brunch and were very pleased with both the quality of the food and the service we received. A great start to the morning - we will definitely come back again!

Eaten here a few times, usually when Ginger and White is full. It's always a shambles. It's a shame as the cakes on offer are interesting, and the food isn't terrible. But the service is atrocious every single time. Take this morning - me, my wife and our 16 month old - the warning signs were there - most other places in the area would automatically offer a high chair for the baby before we'd need to ask, and tap water would either already be set out or at least offered. But it was the food that was the biggest mess. Only one of the three things we ordered arrived - in a more than half empty shop. The incredibly complicated 'bacon sandwich' and 'boiled eggs with soldiers' never arrived. Pushed for time and thinking it best to cut our losses we went to pay, and when pointing out that the items that never arrived needed to removed from the order, it was treated as 'they want to cancel it' rather than 'they've been waiting for 45 minutes and are understandably fed up'. No communication, no concern. Bizarre that such a simple order can go so badly wrong. It's been like that most times I've even got a takeaway coffee from there. Very much a 'the staff all seem hungover' type of restaurant.

What a terrific addition to Englands Lane.....a very helpful chap served us (along with a waitress who seemed miserable...perhaps she was having a bad day?)The coffee was lovely and I had two avocado on toasts....terrific. Rent, business rates, staff costs et al in NW3 are fairly high and I think prices are absolutely normal for the area.....in fact the surroundings are so nice it is good value. I shall become a regular from now on.....and hope to catch the lady behind the counter smiling next visit.

Very nice for home made food,quite artisan in some dishes I can say,and the smoothie I tried was so good!

I was looking at a studio nearby so stopped here for a bite to eat. Lots to buy, either to prepare at home or to eat right away. I had an iced coffee and a sandwich. The only downside can be from the noise students studying nearby. They had wifi though and places to sit outside. Not bad!

Excellent Coffee, arguably the best on England's lane but shamefully overpriced. Nothing exceptional on offer.

Another place for great coffee on England's Lane; this one with the option of purchasing lovely cakes and deli food too. Not much seating space but nice and quiet on weekday mornings.

Yes the food is fine and the welcome is "nice" but why , oh why is the food in the cafe and on the shelves so over priced. These kinds of cafes are spreading around Belsize Park like wild fire and are catering for only one type of clientelle. The prices do not reflect what is on your plates and leaves you rather cheated.

Fresh food. Lovely welcome. Value for money. Fabulous salads. All home made. Clean. Refreshing to find such a variety of cheese, hams and vegetable options.

Visited last weekend and tried a new menu that contained an excellent selection of sharing plates and cheese boards. Every single item we tried was fantastic and having spoken to the manager who explained how they went to great lengths when sourcing the ingredients and supplies, this is not surprising. We went for lunch but simply could not resist purchasing a few items from the shelves to take home. The coffee and cheese we finished on were both simply delightful. The place looks great and is definitely worth a visit.

We had breakfast at the black truffle and enjoyed the sunshine outside. The food was very good.we had a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, a bacon sandwich and pastries. All were very nice but the coffee was the best bit!

Recommend, for sure ! Very good cakes and coffe. If you want breakfast or lunch :-) Nice interieur and splendit shop full with juice, jam, etc.
