I came here on Monday 9th Sept with my dad and we absolutely loved it. The service was phenomenal and the food was impeccable. We got talking to the bar staff and also met the boss and both were extremely kind. It was just the place we were looking for - Charlie.

A gem of a pub on west end lane!

Called in with a friend for a couple of drinks mid week. Decent atmosphere but mixed feedback on staff. The lads were pleasant and efficient. However the woman (who I think was floor manager) was rude on multiple occasions separately to both of us for no particular reason. Not sure what was going on, but if I saw her working again I would actively avoid the place. I have reviewed many pubs in the area and this was the worst service by a mile. Such a shame

Lovely pub in the heart of Hampstead with a huge beer garden, regular bands and even a karaoke band. Would recommend booking on the weekend, definitely my new favourite spot in Hampstead

Beautiful garden, great in the sunshine. Chefs were excellent, the food arrived timely and was up to standard. Barstaff we're a few deep at the bar so service was as expected but they handled it well and the lads especially Robert were friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend this venue and will be back again whenever I'm in the area.

The black lion is one of my favourite pubs in west Hampstead, I always have a great time when I walk through the doors. The staff are so welcoming and always happy to help. Great food and drinks, plus live music.

I had a lovely experience at Black Lion, the food was delicious, the servers were hospitable and fast as well as this the music was outstanding in the evening. I would recommend this pub highly to anyone looking for a great day / night out!

Sold drinks 15 minutes before the advertised closing time then rudely told by a very agressive bouncer to leave 5 minutes later without being allowed to drink them. Change your opening hours if you don't want customers to be in your venue before the advertised closing time, and what happened to the 30 minutes drinking up period, stated on your licence??. Terrible attitude to customer service.

Had the best experience at The Black Lion West Hampstead. Amazing atmosphere and what a lovely staff ! Grab a seat in the back garden on a sunny day or enjoy the live music every Friday & Saturday. They host Rockeoke on Wednesdays with a live band if you fancy singing for an audience and don’t forget to bring your mates for the Sunday Quiz. If you are into sports etc they are also showing all games. Great selection of wines and beers and wonderful cocktails. On top of that they now have a new menu and wow wow wow, can’t recomend enough. The chefs really know what they’re doing + good vegan options. Do not miss out on this place !!!

Best pub in the area! Great beer garden with loads of space, perfect to hang out with a group. The Rockeoke on a Wednesday is so much fun, great night out! Large drinks selection and the food is fantastic, highly recommend the burger. Staff friendly and always happy to help. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I come to this pub several times a week. 15 days ago I was there and presented the Dusk voucher and they wouldn't accept it. Today I tried to use the voucher again and it wasn't authorized. The manager said that he is no longer part of that platform and can no longer offer drinks. I was very embarrassed.

I have the dusk app, I brought my son on vacation, we enjoyed it the day before and the next day they didn't give a drink, it's been 20 days, I went again because I live in front of aonoub on top of Nando's restaurant We were embarrassed two, why doesn't the pub leave the app? And the only pub that does this kind of. Embarrassment This is not correct, you need to review the applications you want to be part of

Ordered a veggie burger and made sure with the server three times it was a veggie burger. Burger arrived and it was beef. If they can’t get this right then imagine if someone comes in with an allergen.

Enjoyed a family day out very friendly staff and clean environment Have been here a few times with my partner on a Friday night and have enjoyed the live entertainment, would recommend to all to have a family meal and also friends or couples for the entertainment on a weekend

If your looking for a local gem then look no further. Great place to go with friends or a date to enjoy live music, but if a sing song and dance. If it gets to loud you have a nice seating area out the front, would recommend getting there abit earlier if you want a seat or don't want to battle to get to the bar.

Ben was our server and I gotta say this boy was absolutely the best. Great customer service Great communication Fantastic vibe delivered exceptional So it made the food 10/10 If you’re going make sure Ben serves you.

First time in The Black Lion but was it a real treat. It's been seriously refurbished in recent years with a strong food repositioning and wow was the food good! You can tell this clearly by the before and after pictures below!!! We had potato skewers which sounded quirky but were stunning, the Croque Monsieur which was amazing and the Scotch egg - again stunning. Service friendly and prompt, good variety of wines and ales and a very large and south facing beer garden tick most of the boxes you could need. They also allow dogs too. I was a fan of the decor generally but the dark paint scheme wasn't really to my liking. On various days they have Rock-aoke (karaoke with a live band) which sounds fun and worth coming back for. Overall I was a big fan of the Black Lion and will definitely be back.

Manager is rude. Blonde American lady treats her customers like she’s the one doing us a favour. Brought my injured friend here on crutches. Got treated like street dogs, as if we were an inconvenience.we were ignored when we asked for help and taken so unseriously. DONT COME HERE IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE BODIED OR YOUNGER THAN 30.

The food is fine - bit pricey. Good place to sit around with plugs tho

Attractive old pub, allegedly Greene King. Nothing on the menu appealed to any of us, but the problem is that they only have one real ale (an IPA) and no Abbott or any other of the GK stable. Strange.

Great selection of food and beers. The atmosphere could not be better. Front area to enjoy West Hamstead vibes or for those than prefer a more relqxed experience, you can enjoy a nicely setup beer garden Defo making my way from SE London to spend a day here with friends and family.

We had two burgers with chips and two drinks, over £64.00 which is a bit too dear for what we had.

Super friendly staff and lovely atmosphere!

Staff were friendly and accommodating to our large group with a baby on a busy Sunday. The food was slightly more expensive than average for pub food but the slightly better food quality and portions evened things out. The dessert was very weird though - ordered a pecan pie and got a Yorkshire pudding with pecan filling? Guessing there was a problem in the kitchen but would have been nice to have been offered an alternative as it wasn't cheaper either.

Besides the double charge and the "shacken" negroni with bitters is a decent venue with a good Guinness and food, mainly for youngsters and students, the good things are live music, outside terrace and maybe the 241 cocktails.

We had Sunday roast here which was great but the dessert was not even sweet and delicious.

A great find. Such a lovely pub, great staff and a great beer garden and a fantastic Sunday afternoon vibe. Porchetta roast was really tasty. Pork crackling was perfect and crispy. the pork itself was nice and tender. Beef dripping roast potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Kale, carrots and gravy were on point as well. Only frustrating part of the roast, they were lacking cauliflower cheese. It's not to pricey as well, lots of decent side options.

So celebrated my birthday on Saturday and we had booked an area for me and my guests ! And from The get go the whole staff was so accommodating..friendly.. and welcoming.. Massive shout out to Christian, Hugh and Alex for being top sports and sending the drinks out and just making sure we was all good throughout the night ! Live band was on point and could not fault any part of the experience! Would highly recommend this spot for events and celebrations as it was an amazing vibe and talk easy spot. Wish I could give more stars !! Thanks again guys !

They were so rude to my friend when she complained about the service she received. She was really hurt.

Taylor is a really solid guy. Made me and my Mrs feel very welcome. Really helped elevate the atmosphere with his humour. Good to meet someone who’s also into Craig David! Also, what do you guys put in that chocolate mousse? My Mrs seemed more into it than she was me.

Went in for some cocktails and dinner before a concert. From the beginning, the staff were off and were very very passive aggressive seemingly uninterested. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because it could’ve been a bad day etc, however the rudeness continued throughout the service. We ordered some sides and a main, it was served cold and tasted bland. The cocktails were the only good thing about the whole experience. Both of us work in hospitality so understand the difficulties of the job, however this was the worst experience I’ve had eating out. The restaurant wasn’t even busy and the whole atmosphere was off from the minute we stepped through the door. Do not spend your time or money here

Food was good. Went there with friends for a late dinner and we were really satisfied for the service and the food itself. A bit disappointed on the prices, too high to be ‘outside’ the inner part of London. They should decrease a bit the overall prices.

Lovely little pub but especially excels in the service. I was attended by a young lad Taylor who gave me such excellent service, and was really insightful in telling me about the area, which I am new to.

After my wife left me, one of the waiters here, Taylor I believe his name was, helped me feel whole again. He is the reason I can love again. GIVE THAT MAN A RAISE.

Sat down for an evening pint alone and bored. But alas the night was to take a turn! My waiter Dom was amazing - knowledgeable, friendly and warm. He even went so far as to offer me some much needed advice on my tattered love life! Will come back again and again.

Absolutely love this place! We stumbled upon this pub last year when they reopened from their refurb- and what a choice that was! We’ve frequented the black lion quite often this year, and can honestly say that the service and staff are 5 ⭐️
