Booked in for Burger night as spotted on their Facebook page that they get booked out. I have to say after experiencing the food it’s easy to see why. The food was tremendous, the waitress (Darcy) was friendly and the bar-lady was lovely. We had a Chicken Burger (The Aloha with loaded fries upgrade), the Blue Cheese and Bacon Burger with fries and some chicken strips to share. All absolutely beautiful. We can’t wait to come back

Stayed for one night with a family group and was very impressed. The rooms are beautiful, very clean and cosy - they have clearly been renovated fairly recently and to a very high standard. Absolutely could not fault the accommodation. The landlord was very pleasant and welcoming and his daughter Lauren did the most amazing breakfast.

On arrival the owner made us feel very welcome. The bedroom was modern, very clean, spacious, warm with a nice coffee machine/tea. Bathroom was modern very clean, lovely extra large bath towels, good shower shampoo/shower gel. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and chatted to the locals. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice fruit, cereal, pastries, full English, coffee, tea and toast. Definitely recommend we really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we were in the area.

A gem of a place!! The staff were nothing short of being fantastic and couldn't do enough to ensure we had everything we needed and to ensure our stay was perfect. Would recommend this place as a great base to go off exploring the local walks and attractions. Will be back later in the year to explore more of the area and enjoy the 1st class service.

This is a gem of a place, a small pub on a road out of Dalton with 3 rooms. Breakfasts are immaculate and beautifully cooked with flair. Staff are really great, very helpful and thoughtful and easy to get on with. There's a peacock wandering around too. No evening meals apart from Friday which is a burger night - again excellent even for veggies! A list of restaurants in nearby Ulverston is provided. It feels like everything has been thought about carefully. We highly recommend it. Jo

Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms refurbished to a very high standard and a very nice feel to the rooms. Food was not being served on the Thursday night but we were given a list of recommended alternatives to choose from. We ate at the pub on Friday night which was burger night. Really good selection of tasty burgers and real ales to choose from. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty and the young lady serving very helpful and had suggestions for places to visit which were not quite as well known. Very friendly staff and would not hesitate to recommend this place. Situated perfectly for the South Lakes zoo but still only 20 minutes scenic drive into the central lakes

Stayed at High Haume Glamping and perfect having this little gem in walking distance just down the road. Mark serves up some classic local ales, 4-5 on tap I recall which is not very common in the majority of pubs nowadays so it guaranteed it to be a regular visit for us during our stay, my lad especially loved the free lollipops which have probably run out now! Didn't get to try the menu unfortunately (served Fri & Sat) as we left early Friday but have it on good recommendation from our Glamping hosts that it is well worth a visit for the burgers especially! Many thanks again for the warm welcome Mark and keep up the great work.

Just back from a short stay in The Black Dog Inn, Dalton in Furness. Incredibly warm welcome, immaculate room with the best views, amazing breakfast, my partner said it's the best b&b brekkie he's ever had !! We travelled by car into Ulverston, 5 minutes away. Perfect base for us and we will certainly return.

The Black Dog has evolved under the ownership of Mark. It used to be a real ale men's pub but now attracts a wide age range of both sexes.Having undergone restructuring inside there is a nicer ambience. The beer is superb with a good range of spirits too.Burger Night on a Friday is well worth a visit. Hand made, fresh, huge burgers with chips to die for and a variety of toppings. The pub has regular music nights, plenty of weekend beer festivals and the annual Dogfest - music/beer festival.Personally I would like to have more comfortable seating inside (All seating is wooden chairs). It would also be great if a Sunday roast was on offer or a curry night. Mark and his team are passionate about the Black Dog and the quality of the food/drink and the warm welcome are proof of this. It's my favourite pub and hard to beat.

Well above your average pub food in terms of quality and decent value- especially the Sunday Lunch menu. A good choice of real ale kept well.A quiet traditional atmosphere with 2 real fires- wish more pubs stuck to the basics of good beer and good food!

I was recommended the Bari Tea Brewery by a friend and was not disappointed. The range of teas on offer was vast with many interesting flavours! I had the green ginger tea with a scone which was freshly baked and was very tasty! Service was very good and all the staff very friendly.

What a wonderful place to have a cup of tea! We were visiting the Heritage Centre next door and were taken in by the quirkiness of the idea and decided to have lunch in the carriage. We were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming young man who gave us a few minutes to make our lunch choice. The tea was served in a traditional tea pot in “proper” china tea cups which was just perfect. Our food choices were soup and a cheese scone, ham and cheese sandwich and a sausage and bacon bun, all presented lovely and totally delicious. We were on holiday in the area and wish we live closer as I’d visit all the time. The prices were very reasonable and the service from the staff faultless.

The coffee stop absolutely went above and beyond for a 50th party that I arranged the food was exceptional and everyone off the guests said the same, more than enough food and amazing service I would rate Angela and George 100% if I could I honestly can not thank them enough for making the occasion so special.
