Nice clean room, a little small but perfect for my needs. Worth the cost. Didn’t stay for breakfast as they opened the restaurant at 10am after I’d left. That would be my only consideration,

Lovely restaurant and seating. Service good .Soup was very good with toasted bread . Only let down was the poor quality of some of the meat in the steak pie very tough .but will be back to try other food from the menu

We had an overnight stay with a meal in the restaurant. Our room was cosy and warm and stylish. It was a very pleasant stay and would definately stay there again. The lovely staff were attentive and very helpful.

Called in for breakfast following an overnight stay at 'the rooms' the you man Andrew who was our server was incredibly polite when we arrived, showed us to our seats and took a drinks order before taking our food order, my traditional breakfast and my wife's roll arrived fresh, hot and was very tasty and we will eat here again very soon without hesitation.

Called into the pub around 7.00 on spec. No one else eating which was surprising. our order was taken promptly and the drinks came in good time. Then we waited and waited for over an hour. not sure what they were doing as no one else eating. The waitress looked embarrassed and kept disappearing into the kitchen to check on progress. When the food came it was all fairly bland. The waiter asked if we wanted any condiments but then never returned. We decided to cut our losses and just ate up and paid the bill.

Stopped in for a pint and some food while passing thru Cumbernauld Village. Beer was nice and the service was great. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and great value for less than £7!!! Highly recommend.

I went here for lunch with my family. No one was wearing any Mask even though it say must be worn at the bar and must be 2 meters apart. Arrived at 1.30pm got our drinks straight away. Had to constantly ask the waitress for a Menu & Cutlery. The food was ok. But having to wait over 1 hour for food and the meat was a bit chewy. Don’t think We would rush back Eventually left at 3.30pm. The the the longest I have ever had to wait for a lunch with no apologies at all.

A great local pub always enjoyed the music in the past pre covid the heart of the village and food amazing.

The blackbull main street cumbernauld We came in for a birthday dinner Once seated we got asked for a drink which came qwickly then went down hill It took 10 mins for menu to arrive We put our order starters and mains 10 mins later she comes back and says that the braised beef had run out and would you like to order something else, without offering a menu.we asked if the prawn starter was very spicy, the waitress replied "i dont know i dont like seafood" so we asked for it with a little chilli, yet it arrived ridiculously laced with chilli flakes and prawns over cooked. The starters took about 45 mins to arrive for a pate and king prawn salad We finished starters about 1940 We ordered a couple of drinks and cocktails which came quickly it came at 2020 and still no main courses we had to complain The manager was good and comped everything None of the staff were wearing face masks plus they had the tvs almost full blast showing football on full volume maybe should be reading the updated licensing rules There are so many bars restaurants obeying the new rules and regulations this bar is definitely one to avoid for your own safety during the recovery from covid

Went to The Black Bull on so one else’s recommendation, and only expected normal pub food, but this food was great far exceeded my expectations and very reasonably priced. Great service from the staff.

I was having a drink here, nice enough place. I fancied just a bowl of chips, I was at the bar and I spotted the waitress and asked if they just sold chips, sit back down I will come to you. This was at twenty past six, five minutes later brings the menu. 10 minutes later comes for my order “ we stopped that menu at half six” five minutes later brings me evening menu, I ended up choosing something else and ordering a drink. 10 minutes later no sign of drink never mind the food! I went the bar at 20 past 6 for a drink and some chips at 7 o’clock I left with neither! Shame as a nice pub.

After a great business lunch a few weeks back, I returned with two buddies of mine, and I was genuinely worried that I'd possibly "bummed-up" The Bull a bit much in persuading them to go there, rather than some posh, hipster nosh establishment in Glasgow City Centre ... but I was not disappointed ... in fact, the meals exceeded my expectations The service was perfect - what nice staff the Bull has ... and the presentation of the food was, and I kid you not, worthy of Masterchef Seriously ... my mates were gobsmakked to get that quality of food and presentation in a pub - and I agree ... absolutely spot-on One of them now intends booking a Xmas Dinner for a party of guests, and none are from Cumbernauld ... he thinks it's worth the journey!!! So pleased ... thanx The Bull, you didny let me down!!! Excellent, yet again

The Black Bull and it,s neighbouring restaurant are brilliant for great staff and equally great food and it,s always cosy as it,s neighbouring restaurant is called The Coorie Inn!

We regularly walk down through Cumbernauld Glen, down to Cumbernauld Village for lunch at the Black Bull, and are rarely less than 100% pleased - the occasional "running oot of totty-scones" is unforgiveable - the staff are magic and the quality of food, and varied menu, is well-above par for pub-grub Restaurant quality at pub prices Recently I took two friends for a "business lunch" … one being rather well-off, and used to "good restaurants" …. and they were so impressed. The food was spot-on, delivered to our table in record-time, and with such friendly, helpful service from the fantastic Liz (pay her more, she's worth it), a real asset to the place OThe Bull is one of Cumbernauld's wee gems!!!

Great meal. Liz was great. She looked after us well even though she was serving in the bar and serving meals.

Nice comfortable bed, but of noise late on but if you stay in a pub that's to be expected. We had a bar meal in the main bar. Great friendly service, the steak pie was the best I have had in a long time. Plenty of chunks of nice tender meat, no fat or gristle, nice gravy and a puff pastry top. Served with veg and home made chunky chips, totally hit the spot.

Excellent pub and i had one of the best nights sleep i have had in a hotel 100% recommendation the staff are very good and helpful rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable the only downside was the breakfast is served a bit late for anybody needing to leave early but that takes nothing away from a quality stay

What a night!! Spent NYE down the black bull with friends & family. Couldnt have been treated any better. Staff were fantastic. The redheaded manager couldnt have been any nicer and more helpful. Will be back for another brilliant night!

Great food, great night, wee were made welcome all night staff were lovely too. not being out much thank you wee will be back soon.

Down tonight intending to go for birthday drinks with my friend and girlfriend and was glared at by bar staff due to a personal matter with my girlfriend which happened more than 10 years ago! Made to feel awkward, uncomfortable and this member of bar staff was completely rude and unprofessional, to the point where we actually left without even having one drink. Absolutely shocking service

The black bull used to have karaoke on a Friday, pulling in load of punters, it was a great laugh and some atmosphere, Jim Walker (the owner of the bar) didn’t like the woman who done it anymore (he’s a selfish so in so) so he sacked her and ever since the bar has no atmosphere! He also banned a boy with Aspergers from singing on the mic, poor lad loved it and it was his only night out all week. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Unless Jim gets the Karaoke back!!!! ... I know you will see this Jim ...

We've been here for meals quite a few times & have always been impressed with the food & value for money. We returned this week & while the food quality & service was still great, the portions seem to have drastically reduced. There were big gaps on the plates. Very small portions of salad & chips. We finished our meal but were still a bit peckish.

Went in today with my friends as we all fancied a Sunday dinner . To our disbelief we were advised that steak pies were not available as they weren't finished cooking . We mentioned it was almost closing time and wondered why there was none available ?! Had to then choose something else off the menu which was tasteless and very average . So disappointed and we all agree we wouldn't be returning .

Basic bar food decent quality well priced, lively bar, freindly staff. Drinks well priced, no real ales

We went today for Father's Day. There was a lovely set menu, 2 courses for £12 & 3 for £15. Our starters were all huge & really tasty. We all ordered the Sunday roast which was beef with all the trimmings. I don't think I've ever been served as big or as elaborate a meal in a restaurant. Along with 4 slices of thick beef there was sausages, stuffing, 3 types of veg, 2 types of potatoes, Yorkshire pudding & gravy. All of it was great. Needless to say only one of us finished it. Drinks are very cheap & measures are generous. To top it all the staff are very friendly & helpful.

It was noisy when we first sat down however we moved to another table and then things settled. Had a very good meal which was hot, well cooked and tasty and also good value for money. We returned the next evening but were told that the kitchen was closed as things had been very quiet. We were disappointed and had to start driving around looking for somewhere else. Would eat here again providing they decide to open the kitchen.

The Black Bull. Proper pub grub with massive TV's everywhere for the football. You can't beat a good old sports bar.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon 4 of us . We had the mozzarella sticks and mussels to start which were excellent. For the mains we had the gammon steak , cheeseburger and a baked potato with salad which were all very tasty and of large portions. 5/5 for the food and the service as they were down a chef but still managed to cope. Will definitely return here .

We had a pleasant family dinner here staff were lovely and good with the kids (even though they Were running around :) ) food was average not disappointed.

Have eaten here many of times and food was always good and excellent value. Went for a meal over festive season, totally disapointed. All meals had to be sent back along with the desserts as food was awful. We did get our money back but was advised there were many complaints due to a new chef not being used to the menu. A new chef should be able to provide decent food regardless. We did get full refund but until theres a vast improvement with the quality of food we will be eating somewhere else

Need give this place a try if your looking for a night out. Staff are wonderful always looked after. Drink price excellent and entertainment brilliant

Popped in for a pint at lunchtime.

Our first impression was positive. Quite a nice setting, friendly locals. We got our drinks ordered but that's where the positive points end. The guy serving us told us he would be back in a minute to take our food order, he seemed to have disappeared and we never saw him again. We sat there for half an hour. Tried to grab the attention of other staff to no avail. We left and we will probably never be back.

Good wholesome food great choice good prices staff very friendly parking a problem other than that would be nice to be dog friendly

Attended for lunch with friends. The food is very good and the atmosphere was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Were visiting friends in Cumbernauld And stopped here for a visit.

Local pub with great regulars. Great atmosphere and fantastic staff. The karaoke nights are brilliant as are the live events. Would recommend to anyone.

Staff very friendly, had no problem serving me a small portion,food very good, would recommend,just off Glasgow Stirling motorway.

Went here for dinner after a day out with my mum and nephews. The food and the service was great. Food was thogherly enjoyed by all. Fillet steak was perfect with hand cut chips whilst the others loved their serloin and steak pies.

Ate here many times, food and service have always been good and something to suit everyone. Very good value, well worth a visit.

Been great everytime and gives you decent value for your money! Food has never been bad and the staff are so friendly :)
