Had a three course meal for two people and could not fault any of the dishes or the service. Food was delicious and generous portion sizes, the chunky chips were amazing! Would recommend a visit.

Just in Moreton for 3 hours. Stopped by Black Bear for a pint of Best Bitter. Staff were very happy and nice. Atmosphere was clean and above average. Did not eat as food prices seemed high. Enjoyed the pint.

Popped in for a lunch time drink and the staff were very friendly. Decided to book a table for evening meal the venue isn’t extensive but what they do they do they do it well. Possibly one if the tastiest meals had and that was the view of all in our party. Excellent value and lovely friendly staff . I Highly recommend but best to book

Amazing food, it's not often that my Mom (who I think is an amazing cook) goes away saying "she's wishes she could cook a Pork dinner as good as that place" Broccoli was maybe one of the best foods eaten that day, everything was great that we had.

We were staying at the Caravan site and booked an evening meal. We had a lovely meal and the service was very good. If we are back in the town again, we would certainly go back.

This is a lovely traditional pub serving excellent traditional fayre. Excellent service great atmosphere, especially as we visited on a Monday evening. So nice to find an unpretentious proper pub.

What a delightful surprise to stumble upon this fabulous pub/restaurant during an impromptu dinner in one of our favourite Cotswold towns! The staff here are simply wonderful—friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. They really made us feel looked after. The food was delicious and fresh, and the ambiance was just right for a relaxing evening. Overall, I can’t recommend this place highly enough—definitely a solid 10 out of 10 gold stars! A special shoutout to Lianne, who truly exemplifies outstanding customer service. Thanks to the whole team for a memorable evening—we’ll definitely be back!

Delicious food and great 5🌟 service. The beef brisket with Yorkshire pudding as big as a side plate was well worth the hours drive. This was my second visit, I would 100% return, hopefully soon.

We had a really excellent evening meal. A table was available straight away. Our drinks order was taken straight away and when they arrived, our food order was taken. I had a pint of Donnington brewery ruby red , a really excellent bitter. Our food order arrived in good time and was absolutely excellent. Hot plates, hot food and really tasty. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professionally trained. The cost of the meal and drinks were very reasonable and well worth the money. It is also a very dog friendly pub. It is also very popular so it's worth booking a table. We will definitely eat here again

Only had drinks and fun, didn't eat though assured by Pete ( local man we sat and chatted with) that food is excellent too. What a great Saturday afternoon, until I wet myself by spilling half a pint a great beer in my lap.

Great pub in Moreton-in-Marsh with all the traditional food and a cozy atmosphere. The chicken and leek pie with a cheesy cauliflower side was absolutely the best meal we had on our two week trip!

We stayed last weekend at Morton in Marsh such a lovely place we called into the Black Bear for a drink and what a warm welcome welcome welcome recived . The pub was warm and cosy the beer and cider were local and really good. We ended up frequenting this lovely place ever day and booked in for Sunday lunch , it did not disappoint the staff were friendly and efficient the food was amazing!! I would recommend this gem if you are thinking of going to Morton it's a great find .

This is a dog friendly pub, which seems to place more importance in the dogs than the dog free customers, meal was completely ruined by 4 dogs who constantly barked throughout the whole meal experience, spoke to the manager who didn’t seem to think It was a problem. If you want a dog free environment, avoid this pub.

We travel from West Yorkshire to Devon then pit stop at Moreton In Marsh on the way back home. Absolutely amazing food, staff and atmosphere. Doggos are welcome which is lovely, overall a wonderful friendly to place to eat, drink and be merry

If you're heading to Moreton on Marsh or anywhere close, go ahead and make a reservation here. We were lucky to get in one night and loved it. Tried to go again a couple of days later but couldn't get a reservation later that day. Folks are real nice and the food is excellent, one of the best meals we had on this trip to the UK. Just had Saturday lunch with a group of friends. The food was gorgeous, drinks good, great service and prices reasonable. What more could we ask for? Top notch.

Perfect ale & a delicious beef brisket!

Wouldn’t recommend their fish and chips. Worst I have ever eaten anywhere (and we have tried a lot). Was expecting good meal but highly disappointed. Skin left on the fish and prior to preparing and it didn’t have a pleasant taste. It wasn’t cooked enough and for that price wasn’t pleased at all. Very loud pub atmosphere. Wonder why I this place gets such good reviews.

Great food friendly staff happy to help with high chairs that where required for us. We will be back for sure. The chips and veg where to share with the orgeat adult portion of food.

I extended my day in Moreton-In-Marsh (after a long hike to Chastleton) and really enjoyed this place. They found me a table in advance of a later reservation w/ the promise I'd be done, which wasn't a problem and I never felt rushed. The local ale was excellent but the star of the show was the slow cooked pork belly. It was fall apart tender but had the best crisped top. Super! It's small (seating-wise) but not cramped. I can see why you should make a reservation. Highly recommend.

It's hard to choose a place in this city because there are so many of them on the main street. However, I wanted to try something local and feel the atmosphere of England. I was not disappointed, great place, very nice staff and, most importantly, the place was visited by a lot of guests during my 3 days of stay. The food was delicious, I was really surprised that local food could be so good (my first stay in the UK). I recommend!! Additionally, a wide selection of drinks and alcohol, even local ones. Great atmosphere. The photos show various dishes from the 3 days of my stay.

Had a lovely meal with my wife, both dishes were very good and generous portions. The steak was cooked perfectly with a very good sauce. Local ales and friendly service.

Great pub, good food, even better than before

Came here for Sunday Lunch to meet my sister after reading reviews. Not disappointed as was an excellent decision. The Roast Lamb was the best we've ever had and all the accompaniments were excellent ! Super Yorkshire Pudding. Pleased to find range of alcohol free beer as well as the local Donningtons.All staff friendly and helpful.Felt we all received really good value for money and shall be returning.

A nice country pub with a nice atmosphere, do not expect to eat late on a Saturday there as they stop serving food early, which I found out much to my surprise. The food I did manage to get was fantastic though and I would recommend this pub.

We visited for a meal during a recent stay in the area. A nice pub with character features but clean and modern inside. The staff were great and the food was very enjoyable. The scotch egg was a particular highlight. Our only gripe was that it was a bit noisy in the dining area due to one large group in particular but an enjoyable meal nonetheless.

Update: not been here for 3 years and still the most amazing food! Ten out of 5 stars. The food was ridiculously good! I highly recommend - the chef is a genius. Put it this way, I've never asked to have the salad wrapped to take home before . We had the tender steak and ale pie, creamy dauphinois potatoes & giant chunky chips and rocket with parmesan salad. Each element was absolutely fantastic. Giant portions too. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great pub- very welcoming staff..nice to have a beer with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Chat with the locals and of course pet the many dogs that are welcomed into the pub. Food is quality. Scotch eggs are amazing along with the English staple of Bangers (sausage) and mash and steak & ale pie. Definitely recommend.

Most affordable pub in the village but not much atmosphere.

Great food as always! They cater well for coeliacs and nothing is too much trouble. As the food is all prepared fresh number of items on the day's menu can be amended. We had the beef brisket, horseradish mash and peppercorn sauce. Absolutely superb...even the carrots we a bit special!!

Great gastro pub, that doesn't have the same heavy feeling as pubs in London. The portions are very generous, and quite interesting as well: lamb is served with tomato sauce, and beef brisket is swimming in peppercorn sauce. Sticky toffee pudding is a pub staple, and it should be called "sticky toffee loaf" for the sheer size of it. The only thing I'm sorry about is that I didn't get to try the steak and ale pie. Looked delicious.

Food is of a different level. Absolutely lovely. I had the stuffed chicken, all I can say is wow, my partner had the steak pie. To call this pub grub is an injustice. Food is so much more. We thoroughly enjoyed everything that we ate. Staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back before we head home.

Nice pub with a good ale selection. Table of 3 all ordered the Rump Steak and all felt the cut was terrible, smelt funny and tough to eat. Harder to swallow the £28 price. Sides & dessert was ok. Overall wouldn’t go back here for food

Lovely pub within walking distance of the Caravan and Motorhome Club site. Great atmosphere, lovely food. The best steak I've ever eaten! The staff even made a fuss of our dog :) highly recommend.

Outside info is not correct, many people like us went in and out straight away after being told that kitchen is closed and reopens at 6pm.

So lovely to have food very definitely prepared and cooked on site. My duck breast was perfect, my husband’s Barnsley chop slightly less so, but not enough to complain about. This was noticed as the plates were cleared, and with absolutely no prompting from us we were given a discount. We would certainly dine here again when in the area, and would recommend highly.

This is the closest Donnington brewery pub to us. The BB and the SBA are generally of a good standard and the staff are attentive.

My wife and I called in for lunch on our way down to Bourton on the Water. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere in the pub and the food was absolutely fantastic. A traditional pub exactly as it should be. We will be calling in again next time we visit the Cotswolds.

Just had an absolutely fantastic Saturday lunch. The food was sublime, local beers fantastic and the service was second to none. We had some fantastic conversations with the chap who worked here for 23+ years, among other staff who were equally genuine and very friendly, and he offered an extra special touch for my grandfather-in-law's 93rd birthday by having a picture behind the bar! Really cannot recommend this place more, thank you for everything!
