Ok so this review is for the afternoon tea experience as opposed to actually staying. I will comment however that the approach and initial impression of the manor is one of magnificence and of an opulent Cotswolds era. Plenty of parking, huge driveway and seems totally rural. The building is clean and well cared for, the tea room surprisingly modern yet tasteful to reflect the regency of the stone. The tea experience was lovely, attended by a friendly, courteous professional young lady who achieved her tasks effortlessly. The finger food was thoughtful, of a broad taste spectrum and the scones were warm, the cakes sweet to finish. The earl grey tea was really well presented and great taste, as was the coffee for my wife. For us well worth the effort and personally I would love to stay there 😀👍

The hotel rooms are in need of renovating as they are quite dated. Our electrics tripped during the night, the radiator was stuck on full heat all night, the shower didn't work properly. The hotel is located in a beautiful setting but is no longer of the standard you would expect for a £200+ per night price.

We didn't stay unfortunately, but lucky enough to live close by. Popped in for a nice cold drink overlooking stunning views. The location is jaw dropping and the Manor house is absolutely adorable. We'll worth popping in even if just driving by.

Had a beautiful afternoon tea here this afternoon for a baby shower for my daughter, the hotel staff were very friendly and happy to accommodate us. And also happy to change some things on the menu to our tastes. The food was amazing and plenty of it. What a lovely time we all had 😊

Absolutely delicious afternoon tea, every item was well-prepared and very tasty. The service was excellent and the surroundings were beautiful. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

A beautiful hotel nestled in nature. I highly recommend taking a walk. Breathe deeply, admire the scenery, and feel your body refresh as you walk. The linens were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the food was even more impressive than when I ate freshly made cheese in France. This is a hotel you definitely want to visit. What you have to be careful about is... It's very pleasant to take a walk in the early morning, but if you don't check with the front desk what time the staff will be there, you may not be able to enter the hotel because the hotel locks automatically. There is a small hut with a bench in the garden near the entrance, which provides shelter from the rain and wind, so if you wait for the time while reading a book, I'm sure it will open eventually. postscript It seems that some rooms are not equipped with a hair dryer. (There may be booths that can be used without a transformer in rooms where it is not installed.) Some Japanese hair dryers do not produce much air even if they use a transformer. It is safer to borrow one at the front desk.

Had a nice break. Disappointed leisure pool was cold and had no loungers. Did mention water temperature to staff as other guests were also complaining. Was informed by a regular it was heated on Friday. I stayed Sunday and Monday hoping to swim and relax but it was too cold. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient.

Unfortunately booked a room with low and sloped ceiling and hit my head a couple of times. Also no shower so not a good choice. Not sure if website was clear on both points. People and service were great. This is not an “in town” location so if you don’t like the idea of driving to get to your first location this is not for you. Didn’t bother us as breakfast was included with the stay and it was sufficient. Had dinner one night and it was good. It better options exist in nearby towns. Didn’t like the idea that a charter bus pulled up with a load of people. You may want to check that when booking. Small property so parking, dining etc all close. Grounds are pretty with nice views of sheep grazing next door…a bonus

We were warned in an email about refurbishments - we weren't told the whole of the c14th Manor House was closed and no part of our stay featured any building older than 30 or 40 year old extensions. Our Room smelt bad and in daylight we found mould on the walls and blown plasterwork where the damp course had been breached for quirte a while. Whilst we were offered an alternative the original room should never have been in use. We weren't given any refund for the upheaval of moving rooms or discomfort of sleeping I a mouldy room. When a hair was found in the food the waiter just laughed and said the chef was bald! Not quite the luxurious stay I hoped for.

Stayed at charingworthmanor for a break to celebrate our 20;th wedding anniversary, rooms were dated and disappointing, as we booked a deluxe room, dripping taps , noisy hot water tap, drain smell from bathroom and directly next door to kitchen, so noisy early and late . service and food amazing and 5star but price needs lowering to reflect bedrooms badly in need of renovation. We complained on check out and got £30 off , not enough considering what we paid in total.Still no reply from our email to the manager , only did this because wewere sent an email asking our views .

I stayed in the cottage next door to this sweet shop and it was lovely when it was open. It was cheaper than the other sweet shops in the area.
