Great bar to visit if you are in Litchfield. The bar staff are pleasant and very knowledgeable.

Real ales and beers, fab ciders +++ No TV, no music (occasionally live music). Kid, dog and cycle friendly. Excellent beer garden. Superb staff! Keep up the good work.

This really is my favourite 'local', family-owned and a real effort is made to make everyone welcome. Two bars, you can take in your own food even (chippy over the road) and they will supply cutlery/plates. Spot on! Good choice of artisan beers and ciders from the cask, wine for wine-drinkers. Beers and ciders change regularly, there is also a quiz night, music nights and dogs are welcomed. When I go back to Lichfield this is my first stop off point, great group of 'locals' too.

I really like the nontraditional style of this pub/bar, with table service and a grungy outdoor style. I didn't eat there, but went for a drink with friends. Good selection of beers, live music and very warm welcome from the owner.

Cosy friendly little bar, usually 5 real ales on and 5 ciders plus Gin cocktails selection. Note opening hours, not open midday in the week. Worth a visit especially for those looking for a real ale selection or real cider from the barrel. No bar as such, table service at all times. Special evening events once week, Quiz nights, Games nights and others worth attending! Good outdoor seating in an open and stables area at rear in good weather. Beer Festivals twice a year. Special events, live music etc as regular events. June 2024 now have a genuine Czech lager on tap (NOT brewed in UK!) Highly recommended.

Has a certain character of its own, with live music - Three's Company, good beers and loads of atmosphere - well worth a visit. Parking is available around the corner at the railway station. 🎹🎤🤓👍

Nice place for summer drinks most of the seating is outdoors. Dog friendly.

A group of us filled a small section of the pub so a generally great atmosphere. A large range of real ales. Initially felt as though my invisibility cloak was in place as one staff member was concentrating on doing other tasks. This however soon changed, with table service offer for second round of drinks.

Popped in today and it was a perfect blend of old school pub meets new school craft ale micropub. Absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was great, and the staff and regulars were very welcoming. Highly recommend if you haven't been in, you won't be disappointed

Good selection of cask ales and a couple of still ciders, spent the day in there watching the rugby, can bring your own food in, good chippy across the road

An unusual yet a hidden gem of a pub near the station. Table service here was attentive and is made by the very knowledgable and welcoming staff who will guide you though a wide range of quality barrel beers from a variety of breweries, which are constantly changing… even during the course your visit! Good value for money too and the paddle board of 3 third pints allow you to taste a selection of beers. Just found the place a little stark and cold in the daytime, but staying until after dark with the heating now on and nice lighting the atmosphere changed to a cosy and intimate venue.

Great real ale pub and nice beer garden, ladles loved the gin selection. Again a great selection of fine ale and they accomdated all 25 of us to fine drinks.

Now fully open for delicious Real Ales and ciders. Possibly the best pub in Lichfield and that's a big accolade

An unusual bar with table service only. I asked for a good IPA and had a pint of Symphony. Not too bad, but it certainly had a kick. Pub quiz on whilst I arrived, something that I enjoy, but too late to enter. Very popular with the locals and one can easily see why. Locals enjoying fish and chips delivered by...I'm not sure. Give this one a try.

A very friendly local pub, serving a good variety of real ales from the barrel. The Knife Angel statue is just over the road, until the end of July.

Went here as a band were playing. A really nice set up outside, lots of tables and a little area for the band to perform in. Great selection of cask beers. The atmosphere was good. Service to the table was fast. I'd definitely go again.

Went to the opening night. The place was full, but service was quick and friendly and the beer was excellent. We've been regulars ever since - Monday quiz nights are fun!

Popular pub, a bit different from the rest. The staff are so friendly, good outside area on a sunny day. The pineapple cider was refreshing. Within a short stagger from the station, just around the corner.

Not a classic pub you sit and people come take your orders for Alcohol fantastic, great selection of beer and cider straight out of the barrel, no food although you can buy fish and chips from across the road and eat it with your pint or whatever. Sefton fish bar excellent fish and chips. Would definately be going back for the fantastic beer and very friendly staff. 5*

Located just outside Lichfield City railway station. Good selection of real ale and ciders at a reasonable price. Looks small from the outside but inside there are several rooms so plenty of space for the level of custom. The staff were great and eager to please.

Love it here. The outside space has such a great atmosphere, service is always quick and wide range of drinks. Table service is a nice touch. Love the live music and beer festivals and very reasonably priced. We go time and time again and will continue to!

I visited The Bitter Suite at Lichfield for the first time on Friday 17 June 2022 whilst the Beer festival was on. The Bitter Suite was not operating as it normally would as I think the place operates table service . There is no easy place to park by The Bitter Suite and I parked in the Greenhill Pay and display car park . It was about a 10 minute walk to The Bitter Suite but there is closer , but more expensive , car park at the railway station. It is a flat walk with pelican crossing points to cross the busy Birmingham Road. The Bitter Suite has a main door at the front of the building with a side lane on the right hand side into a large rear seated drinking outside space. For the Beer festival they had set up a second bar in an outside building and were serving real ales from there plus the bar inside was operating with its normal real ales . The plan was for additional real ales would be added from the inside racks once the ones from the outside bar started to run out. So only part of the Beer list was available at the time of visiting. A small stage was set up in the garden for a programme of musical entertainments during the festival. The staff were nice and helpful, changing a Beer that was not on top form when I pointed it out. It will be interesting to revisit when The Bitter Suite is operating 'normally' .

If I could give the pub 10 stars I would! It’s an amazing pub, table service, a variety of seating arrangements, staff so incredibly friendly. Wonderful selection of beers, ciders & gins. All of which change weekly. No tv nor music it’s a pub for those who wish to talk & enjoy a drink. You can also bring in your own food if you want- there’s a great chippy across the road! I recommend you try this pub.

Fantastic selection of real ales changing regularly. It's a strange concept being a pub without a bar but it's small and friendly enough to get served at your table. Update - still an absolutely fantastic pub, but if you try a beer you like drink quick because it's so popular they sell out quickly. It does however mean you have to try another beer with the risk of falling in love with it 🤪

Good pub but disappointed they closed early (10pm) on Thursday 17 March didn't make us aware until barman said they were closed and no last orders!

Amazing micropub with friendly knowledgeable owners and staff, great range if real ales, ciders and gins and being just around the corner from the station and bus park perfect for any visit to Lichfield. Dog friendly at all times with children allowed in the snug until 5pm. Simple foods such as pork pies and filled rolls available most of the time...what more could you wish for....perfect. Update...Now serving a range of 4 quality lagers from ABK in Bavaria and have a large outside space with permanent music stage and cosy wooden booths along the cobbled drive...no longer a micropub but still working within same principles...a must visit when in Lichfield.
