I recommend this place to colleagues following a site visit nearby, having been previously for drinks. When we arrived at 11.30 there were several tables reserved, so the waitress showed me to a table. At this point there was only 1 other person in the cafe. We ordered breakfast comprising of 2 full English, 2 eggs Benedict and a sausage and mushroom sandwich, together with hot drinks. The drinks arrived after about 10 minutes and then we waited. The other reserved tables also started to fill, and these took priority over everything else. After 30 minutes I asked how much longer and the waitress advised ‘not too long’, so we ordered another round of teas and coffee. Still no sign of the food, but the other tables were being served. Eventually at 12.40 ( 1 hour 10 minutes later) out came breakfast. Mine was a bacon sandwich- which I didn’t order and the others all just warm . The miserable lady said I could have the bacon sandwich FOC which I declined. If I wanted a bacon sandwich I would have ordered one. I had no time to wait for my sandwich to be cooked so left without eating. The others eat their Luke warm dishes. We were all stunned that no apology was given , apparently we should have been advised of the hour wait. Naturally had this happened we would have gone elsewhere. In other words our own fault My recommendation is to avoid this place - I also recommend the miserable woman learns how to look after her customers by simply saying “sorry that the wait is longer than expected, please have a refill on your drinks . The waitress at the front desk however was very nice, although she failed to tell us about the delay.

We had a lunch snack here today and sat in the outside area. Having ordered gammon and cheese sandwiches, it should not have taken 30 minutes ! The gammon was lovely but surely you can do better than a mountain of grated cheese and bread only buttered on one side ! The salad dressing was OK as were the crisps. Our biggest problem was that this small area should be non smoking. We had to put up with a member of the bistro staff smoking at the next table! Having said all that , our waitress was lovely and very polite when we made all these complaints to her as we payed our bill.

Always a pleasure to visit The Bistro, it's a little off the beaten track but well worth it. Prices are great and the quality of food lovely!

Visited this lovely little place, beautiful cakes, coffee and special board. Good honest food, appears to be homemade. Fantastic outside space for warmer weather. Certainly worth a visit.

I regularly visit the Bistro at Bridges Centre Monmouth for breakfast, lunch or just coffee. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The coffee and cakes are delicious, there are lots to choose from and also a daily specials board. I would highly recommend a visit.

Sunday lunch here is very good, home made puddings are fab. Very friendly owners and staff, proper old traditional pub. Great big gardens and car park at rear. A must visit pub!

Disappointed with our lunch, roll was hard, burger tough, service was ok, though no apology from the waitress when we mentioned our disappointment. Would have made asked to see the manager, but I wanted to spend quality time with my friend.

Large bright and airy, that sums this place up really. Great disabled access too. Excellent staff very friendly and welcoming. Lots of indoor seating. The food is not very much more than Greggs price wise but way better quality you can't go wrong.

Four of us had lunch at the Punch House, three Hog Roast deli sandwiches and one fish finger (goujons) deli sandwich, all served with a generous amount of chips, and four teas all for under £40. Barman and waitress were friendly and helpful, the food delicious and we enjoyed the atmosphere of this old building. Happily recommend
