The Bierkeller in Birmingham

R n B throw back brunch. Saturday 12 til 5, visited for 18th birthday celebrations, good security bag check and full body search, rum punch on arrival for first hour, ok but then bought drinks from bar. Bar staff and service very quick and polite, got busier about 1ish, great DJ and music vibe, was well impressed, compare was interacting with crowd, brilliant atmosphere, all fun and loud music. Toilets needs updating, drinks great, food great, would return really enjoyed, all ages there, hen parties n birthdays, back to old school x

Arrange a stag doo to come here, absolute shambles. Arrived about 715pm couldn’t find our table…the food came out cold and some were wrong. Waited until 830pm…no entertainment…it was also empty…I opened a tab which we never used because he left. I’m still waiting for a Refund. The staff had no clue. Poor all around.

Came here Saturday to the Oompah Show. Firstly we booked in advance of ,£20 per person. We got this back on the night as a bar tab but it wasn't very clear and we had to ask. The service was quite slow but the beer towers seem to take forever to fill so I can see why. 3 people on the bar so could maybe do with more. Oompah show wasn't on for ages but it was fun, stand up, sit down, cheesy disco afterwards. Overall I would recommend it once but not necessarily rush back. In hindsight we would not book as we struggled to spend the £100 tab we had due to drinking too much before we got there 😅. We asked for a bottle of wine at the end and took it home. At the end of the day, a night out is what you make it. If you're looking for a laugh you will find it here.

Staff that can’t communicate. Horrendously slow service. A venue in disarray. Avoid. Just don’t even consider it. Shambolic. They just take your money and run.

Visited to see One Night in Memphis. These guys were amazing and would definitely visit them again when they come to town again. However the negatives are with the place itself. We only had drinks and this has to be the slowest place to get a drink in Bham! Literally queuing for an hour before being served having arrived not long after the doors had opened. Coupled with not having all the drinks available on their menu, I’d have scored a lot lower if it wasn’t for the excellent band!

Had to get two taxis then walk more as no-one seemed to know where the venue was, getting dropped off in a strange city at the wrong place twice was quite scary. The service of food was very slow they were meant to serve this at 7pm prior to the band playing but were still taking food out at 8.30 onwards. Food tastes fine although very cheap. The queue for the bar was long and when you finally got there, the choice was limited, not what it said on the menu so they lost a very expensive order with myself. The group were very good but not on long. Overall it left me very disappointed and not what I expected when purchasing. Overall I would not recommend as the cost is high for what you actually get. The night ends by 9.15pm with a disco ready for bar to be open for the public. disappointed overall.

The service was slow and only half of the food on the menu was available. The beer and wine was terrible! Will not be returning.

I love this place. I love the atmospheres, the drinks, the people, the music and everything else that comes with it! I feel safe going out with my friends and I love the cheesy music. I am always up for a night at bierkeller

Honestly was very disappointed with my experiences. I emailed a few weeks before to try and book but was told I need a deposit due to having a large group which was uncertain on numbers at the time. However I asked if it was ok to turn up on the day and I got a reply saying that it was fine. However, getting into town on the day it was closed and was told it they don’t open on Tuesday. Very annoying for the fact we had paid for 4 taxis to take 20 of us into town for our staff do to find it to be closed and simply lied to. Leaving us all to treak half an hour all the way tk broad street. Speaking to the girl at the bar who knew nothing about it and dunno why I was told this I feel the place is very disorganised and there no communication. Don’t think we will be back

If cheesy old party songs are what you like then you will love it, personally listening to the okey kokey and the conga wasn't for me, I expected a German oompah band and got an 80's house party, beer was overpriced and served in plastic glasses, overall I was really disappointed, I wouldn't go back.

We have visited this pool hall for the last 15 or so years and in all that time I think it has become the worst form of itself, Our party had a cocktail that had an ice cube with a fly frozen in it, and I ordered a hot dog that was forgotten about for a good hour. Two tables are out of use because the pockets are missing/broken, one of the tables doesn’t have a light above it and one of them has the light precariously hanging out of its socket. It’s disappointing to see, if we had alternatives, we would never come here again with it in this state, it’s very sad to see. Having a fly frozen in an ice cube is a very worrying state of affairs and you only wonder what else isn’t cleaned properly behind the scenes.

One the rudest members of staff I have ever come across was Carly. Clearly no customer service experience and her face clearly reads she does not want to be there. Had heard good things about this place, it’s a shame that one member of bad staff could ruin our whole night.

From the moment we walked in to be met by an officious woman who told us that our table wasn't free and we MUST wait at the bar it was an event to forget. Turned out our table was ready so no need for the attitude! Food just about OK, Beer was passable but woman falling over drunk etc didn't add to the atmosphere - for me anyway. Not sure why you would bother but perhaps it's one for the younger folks or those who just want to be!
