What can I say ,it's like your own fun ,warm bubble ...my daughter and myself had the most fabulous Sunday afternoon fantastic service , atmosphere amazing . Cocktails 🤩🤩🤩 ,we had the pleasure of being served by the lovely Caroline a most fantastic lady ,she engaged in conversation and gave so much input and advice on what cocktails to have based on our tastes , ✋ up to the lovely lady so satisfying to engage with her . Also a hands up to the manager who took the time and trouble to ask how much we were enjoying our afternoon. Last hands up to the lovely young lady who sang and played key board and the gospel choir later on fantastic. All I can say is go visit ,you won't regret it !!!

We had a lovely dining experience today, my son's birthday. The service was 10/10, Reece was our waiter, he really is an asset to Albert Schloss, lovely guy, he made our day. The three course meal was amazing 10/10. I would highly recommend Albert Schloss, a relaxed environment, piano playing, a perfect day, we will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family. Thankyou

Visited last Saturday. Be careful! When booking for 9 people we had to secure it with a £300 deposit (not required for 8 or less), this was just for drinks! It's £500 for food. On the evening this turned out to be a 'MINIMUM SPEND', that's 6-7 pints per person! After 2.5 hours we had to leave the venue and the staff blankly refused to refund the remaining third of the balance! Live music was ok but space around our booth was very limited with a lot of through traffic.

The beer was excellent, and the burgers were made with good-quality meat. However, the mature male waiter didn’t have a good attitude and didn’t explain things clearly when I was unsure how to order from the menu. I left feeling disappointed. A few months ago, I visited with a friend for lunch,and The British guests were given seats with a view, by the window while we foreigners were seated at wooden tables. At other this restaurants, people are free to sit at a variety of seats regardless of nationality. I think the attitude of shopkeepers should be reviewed. I think it's the service industry that treats every customer equally. I don’t think I’ll return, as I felt quite uncomfortable.

Is this restaurant serious? I am wearing a Burberry windbreaker and a standard shirt on my upper body 👔， The black pants are made of pure cotton and paired with white Salomon, creating a perfect casual and formal outfit. However, the security guard said I had a clothing issue and refused to let me in! I would like to know what your dress code is exactly！ it’s totally crazy!

Excellent place, second time we visited here, staff are incredible,very friendly & helpful, just realised they have a branch near us in London! Just wish they hadn’t got rid of the beef wellington on the menu as it was just superb! Food was amazing. Would love to go here in the evening if they have live music!

From the outside the place looks very interesting so we were drawn in. Giving 5 stars for the service. The food was not great for our taste but I am optimistic it will be better next time. One of the food items was much too oily for our liking. Shanice the waitress took our feedback very well and communicated it to the chefs. Best of all she didn’t even charge us for it. And she gave us a dessert drink for free.

Massive plates of food - my pork shoulder could have fed 3 ! Wonderful atmosphere with a fantastic singer - first time visit, hope to be back again soon.

Great atmosphere and excellent staff

Last night, we had a fantastic dining experience thanks to our waitress Mra, who truly went above and beyond. She was attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of timing—always there when we needed her without being overbearing. What impressed us most was her excellent beer recommendation. She suggested a beer that was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and exactly what we were looking for. Her warm smile and professionalism made our evening so enjoyable. If you’re looking for great service and a spot-on beer suggestion, I highly recommend dining here and asking for her!

Food disnt meet expectations, but great atmosphere

A bit late with this review but I arrived on a Sunday morning and was the only customer. The manager Reece was attentive, friendly, very caring and a great person overall. Without him - it would have just been a normal restaurant experience. Thank you Reece

I’ve been to Albert Schloss a few times now and normally have a good night there. Thought I’d drop in for a few drinks last night on my way home but before I could I was stopped by the bouncer who looked me up and down as if to say I wasn’t dressed for the occasion. I was wearing smart casual shoes, trousers, a plain white tee shirt, and a jacket over it. He then proceeded to tell me that they aren’t letting in people who are there on their own/ single people. To which I asked why, and what the reason was, to which he didn’t really have an answer for. I was a bit shocked as I’d never been turned away from there before. He then proceeded to ask me if I was from the hospitality industry as I know on Sundays they have industry nights which I’ve been to on some occasions as some of my friends work in hospitality. And I said no but some of friends are and might be joining later. He still seemed to have an issue with letting me in even thought the place was fairly empty. I didn’t want to name drop as I wanted to see the reason for not letting me in. He then was a bout to deny me entry until I mentioned a few people I knew there, which allowed him to then change his mind and let me in. Im only writing this review because I think it pretty shocking that they discriminate against single men from going into their establishments. It used to be like this 20 years ago, but I’m shocked that it still happens now. What’s worse is that I then saw plenty of other single guys/ girls walk into the place after I was inside. Not dropping the race card but was it because I was a POC? You start thinking these things when things like this happen. Bouncers sometimes have been able to get away with discriminating against men/ groups of men, especially those that are POC, however times have changed and I think this is pretty poor from an establishment that seems to be quite inclusive. I just hope that others haven’t had to go through this type of experience or at least Albert Schloss make sure that this kind of treatment doesn’t happen in future. I’ve not had any kind of issues before here, but I felt the need to write this so that someone could address it or at least be aware that they can start losing valuable customers or start to get a bad reputation if this continues.

This is not a restaurant by any standards ! My party and I wanted to book a restaurant to celebrate an anniversary and when we walked in we couldn't quite believe it ! It's basically a nightclub that serves food ! It was absolutely rammed even though there are door staff counting people in and out we had to wait a while before we were seated and there was literally nowhere to stand without being pushed and shoved out of the way, we couldnt speak to each other because it was too noisy, even after we were seated it was just way too noisy to catch up across the table. The food was nice, but you advertise yourself as some fantastic Oktoberfest Bierhalle ! But are just a packed nightclub ! Please change your advertising and make people aware you are not a Bierhalle, or a restaurant !! We were all quite disappointed !

Went to Alberts this Saturday and I have to say Bano on the bar was amazing, she was upstairs, one woman show, I have never seen anyone pour and serve drinks like it- she deserves a raise!! The only person on the upstairs bar yet her hospitality is amazing. She had to deal with many rude people but did so in such a courteous manner, Kudos!!! Hard job on a Saturday night but she made it great for us.

Visited Friday 11/10/24 It's a good bar with good atmosphere but the bar staff need re training for manners. They need to understand they are employed and reflecting the business. The tall dark haired skinny barman stands there like he is only serving who he feels he wants?? You're BAR staff you dafty. If you want to feel like you're actually something get a REAL job 😂😂 I won't be booking our Christmas party with yourselves on the reflection of your bar staff. How bad is that when your lowly bar staff has just cost you a table of 35? Ridiculous business sense.

A "supposed" German themed beer hall but due to its initial popularity its very busy and very, very noisy. I'd describe it as an Anglo-German attempt as the details are wrong. When is Lemonchello a German shot ? Mainly British roasts on a Sunday???? The authentic German beer was expensive but good.

We went out for a friends birthday and were served by Tyler in the smoking area, he was so great! What a great, fun guy, was also a very good bartender ☺️

Bouncer was very entilted and left us waiting outside when one of our friends was already inside. He was standing speaking to his colleague and ignored us for 10 minutes. Many people were let in through another direction of the queue. Finally we were let in with no apology and a disrespectful attitude.

Service left some room for improvement given the price poont. Bar was good, but restaurant missed the mark. Orders confused, drinks not right. Overall a good evening largely due to the company. Wouldn't rush back.

This place never disappoints. Had such a fun time dancing. Got there around 11.30 on a Sunday,and the place was busy. DJ was good, loads of people dancing. Old skool tunes.Nice vibes, drinks reasonable. Will be back again soon! 😁

Booked this for a pre birthday celebration and pre concert family meal. Unfortunately we was very late for out table, but I must say they still accommodated all 8 of us. We was given a great large table in the perfect location of the restaurant. The staff was all awesome. The drinks flowed, especially my perfect made Margarita's. Our food was outstanding. Thank you to all the kitchen team, amazing food cooked to perfection.. Big thank you goes out to Matt the manager, Jacob our waiter and Sofia our server. This venue is totally perfect. Amazing atmosphere, great drinks, outstanding food and perfect service.

Lemonchello is cheap. Doesn’t taste like lemons at all.entertainment consisted of a DJ which was shocking. It was a Sunday night played random music with a blue cross on stage which was hiddious.

A nice large venue with loud music in the evening with a party vibe. They lost a star for over charging me at the bar and not listening to me when I questioned it, then the barmaid went and poured an extra drink I didn't order. There were 3 of us, not 4. Trying to get a member of staff to speak to was near impossible as they only served new people at the bar.

I visited as part of a group of colleagues, service was OK but slow, and one drink not delivered but was rectified. Music was too loud to hold a conversation with each other. The drinks were a reasonable price, but the added £1 to pay for the artisites is a bit of a rip off. As an observation if you are using glitter balls they need dusting regularly.

Great food and beer, service was fast, they even managed to squeeze us in when they were full (we didn't have a reservation). Our server Jon was amazing.

This place was heaving, great selection of beers!

Visited a few days ago with my girlfriend. Overall the atmosphere was great, we were sat quickly and drinks taken. Beer selection could have been more diverse, Schnapps list good. Starter was fine, could have done with a bit more sauce or flavour, but overall ok. My girlfriend had the smoked salmon starter, which came with some sorry looking bread pictured below. I did bring this to the attention of the staff and was told the manager would try to take this off, but from what I recall this didn't happen. Main no issues aside from the apple sauce not being brought out with it. The plates also sat on the table finished for around 15 minutes while multiple staff passed by, looked, but didn't ask anything about em. While I understand it being Sunday and the business needs to stick to a set menu, the server was quite adamant that bringing out a small side of sauerkraut for the main roast meal was too much, just because "it's Sunday" We were quite happy to pay for this also so, just a little thing that could have made the meal that much better, but it was too much for them. The Yorkshire puddings were also hard and stale in parts, almost like they were made days in advance and taken out then to serve. Desert no issues. Overall the decor and atmosphere is good, but service and food wasn't quiet as good as it could have been that night.

Not bad inside. Had a poor experience with the door staff and manager which was very disappointing, I just popped outside to ring my family and they wanted to throw me out; the default position was trying to look for a reason for it. I was let back in as there was no reason for it. Door security should be much more than that. Disappointing really as otherwise it was alright.

Really fun place, with a themed live concert, restaurant, indoor and outdoor bar. Super cool atmosphere and staff dancing tables. However, long queue outside and can get crowded and loud, especially when you’re only there to eat. But overall worth it.

We had a lovely full breakfast on Saturday. The quality of the food was excellent and very tasty and it was fairly busy so just a nice atmosphere. I can also recommend the pastries and coffee. got prosecco white and red wine price difference from same weatherspoons as we 4.11 u get for prosecco and u get it there for about 7.65 pounds thats shitty but apart from that its flammed

Absolutely love this place, went yesterday afternoon/evening and it was brilliant. The Baron burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had and the cocktails are class! Reece who looked after us was superb and although completely rushed off his feet was a good crack. Be back again soon!

avoid this place. got into unnecessary trouble with the staff who were trying to charge us for drinks which were ordered by previous people at the table we were offered to sit at (drinks already half consumed). Ruined our night celebrating a friend's birthday. Staff only escalated the situation rather than listening (except one staff lady who understood the mistake but already too late)

Albert's Schloss has a wonderful atmosphere and authentic beer and eats. The food quality is always high. There's plenty of space here, laid out to represent Munich Beer Kellers. But at busy times you'll have to book as it gets very popular. Live music features a number of nights during the week.

Good bar, good vibe, doorman horrendous. Argumentative and looking for excuse to kick off over nothing when asked simple question

We were recommended to try this place out. You MUST book a table, unfortunately, we only booked until 9.30 and right on the dot were asked to make way for the next shift. The bar has a German flavour, featuring live music, good beer and a lot of sausages. The live music means it is really too loud for conversation, and the size of the place means you can't see the band perform from everywhere. The waitresses were efficient, making sure you didn't sit there with empty glasses. There must have been ten hen nights in when we were there making it extra noisy. The food is overpriced for what you get and the drinks were of a premium too. By 9.30 you were just settling in so getting turfed out was annoying. Personally not my cup of tea, but judging by the queue of hopefuls I am in the minority.

Popped into Albert Schloss after going for a birthday meal in Birmingham today. As it was 7pm, the plan was to go for 1 drink with my wife and 2 children before we headed home. All staff members were really friendly and the service and drinks were very good. We even had the bonus of seeing a live singer too. Defo will be returning.

I must if near Victoria Square. Located close to Birmingham library also. Very different menu I do feel to do something for everybody on here. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Great kids menu available which is great. You don’t have to book atmosphere and ambience is really really cool.

Very much a huge bar by anyones standards. Nicely done out and a place people seemed to be drinking and eating in from early doors. Live entertainment also. Some private rooms available if you book. Food did look good. Only came in for one drink. Nice outside area though. Very clean and staff all seemed to know what they were doing to be fair. Toilets are upstairs. Security was plenty but polite. This would be a good place for large groups. Lacked a little bit of character for my taste but it is hugely popular.

Myself and my friend were not allowed in to use the toilet despite explaining to the bouncer there was a medical reason we needed access, yet they let a group of people jump over the barrier in front of the whole queue so that tells you everything you need to know about how this place operates. Disappointed, was our birthday night out as well but thankfully some really nice bouncers down the road in another venue saw this occur and let us in even though they were closing :)

Came yesterday for a meet up with our good friend, who had made the reservation for us, we had lovely lunch and drinks, a happy birthday was sung to my hubby, and Harry fetched him a birthday cake plate and shots! Harry was very welcoming and had a great sense of humour, entertainment was fab in a lovely setting ! I'm sorry for joining in the singing 🤣thanks guys will deffo come again.

Honestly, absolutely spectacular! We were served by Robert who was amazing! Loads of vegetarian options and great staff! Drinks looked amazing even though we didn’t try any. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I met up with an old friend a few weeks ago and decided that we would try to get a table here. Not only were we able to snag a table, but we had delicious food and amazing service - thanks Reece! Everyone loved their food: the lamb shawarma, currywurst, and mushroom spätzle. Great atmosphere, great food, and excellent service!

Went here for a leaving do and it had a great atmosphere with the live band. It was really handy that there were waiters on hand around the table where you could just order a drink and then split the bill at the end. This made it very easy with a large group.

We had a great night here post show on Saturday. Considering how busy it was the food was delicious and the waiting staff were outstanding (I'm so sorry I can't remember his name) Fab band and great music selection from dj in-between sets. As others have previously mentioned the bar staff let the rest of the staff down. Surly and indifferent. The 2 who served us looked like they'd rather be anywhere else! which is fine but go get a non customer facing job!!!! Apart from that everything else was fab. Well done A S will defo come again.

The place was buzzing and many people were clearly enjoying themselves, singing along to the music. I have to say it was a relief for us when the live music took a break and went back to background music. The service was a vast contrast to which we received when Reese was looking after us. Our waiter didn't introduce himself. Didn't smile, just took the order. Fortunately I spotted Reese and he did a double take and came over, having remembered us from two months ago. How lovely was that. That cheered us up !

Visited on 26th July. Atmosphere is great here and had such a good time dancing on tables and interacting with the dancers there. Live music is fantastic. However staff behind the bar are miserable. I ordered a margarita from a woman behind the bar, who didn’t reply to me but turned to her colleague and rolled her eyes. I asked for salt on the rim and she told me to “calm down, do one thing at a time” very strange and rude. It’s really clear the staff behind the bar here would rather be anywhere else. If you hate your job so much my suggestion would be to calm down and go and work somewhere else. Puts a bit of a downer on an otherwise lovely evening.

I had a great seat and enjoyed the thought of having a pint and seeing 'The Swing Cats' from Spain. However ,I couldn't hear them. Apparently they are very good,but I can't review them.I can review the beer 2/10.

booked as a table of nine to celebrate my graduation and the staff couldn’t have made it a better experience. we were greeted at the door by a lovely member of staff, i’m assuming he was the manager, and when he overheard it was my graduation he gave us two complimentary bottles of prosecco for the table which was so unexpected. the food and drinks we ordered were amazing and our lovely waiter harry even brought over complimentary shots for the table to celebrate my graduation and even a personalised brownie which was so nice of him. me and my family had the best time and want to thank everyone for going above and beyond for us to make the day so special.

Unequivocally, this is the best place to go in Brum. Great atmosphere, splendid staff, excellent food & drink. Ticks all the boxes and more besides.

Was passing by in the morning and walked in to take a look at the place. My wife and I were greeted by the manager (Olivia). She showed us around and we had a drink and light snack. We sat at the bar and had a very nice conversation with bar lady (Anastazja) who was very knowledgeable about cocktails, and super engaged. Wow! We will be coming back. The management and staff are wonderful. This is very rare to find.

FTAO: The manager (Albert Schloss) I think my review says it all really, apart from the fact that it was my friend’s 40th Birthday Celebration and the bouncer ruined his plans as Albert Schloss was the meeting point. He had to ring circa 15 people to change the plans for the evening. One of my friends actually gained entry after we left the bar. He was also asked ‘who he was with’ but it was in a polite different manner. He explained he was meeting a mate for Birthday celebrations and was let straight in. It makes perfect sense to me now as my friend is white! A couple of days later I bumped into a friend who has invited me to join them in another birthday celebration at Albert Schloss - sadly I declined invite…I find it difficult to spend money where I’m made to feel uncomfortable in the city where I’ve lived all my life.

Lovely German / Austrian style venue, fantastic food menu, superb beer choices, attentive welcoming staff and reasonable prices. Lunch menu worth a look.

Had visited the Liverpool Schloss earlier in the year and the Birmingham one is every bit as good. Went for the currywurst bier halle style for dinner which was very nice (though I didn't realise the Bavarian potatoes would be served cold). Also had a fantastic cheesecake and a delicious Irish coffee. Went back the next day for breakfast and the mushrooms with potato rosti was great. Wish they'd open one of these in Nottingham - it'd do well for sure.

I get to the bar at 6pm on Saturday it’s my friend’s birthday. He’s in the beer garden with other guests, I’ve just spoken to him. I asked the doorman at the exit if I can enter from there and he politely says “you have to enter through the main door.” No problem I reply. As I walk towards the main door the ‘Head bouncer’ says “hey where you going?” Inside I reply, he then steps very close to me looks me up and down and aggressively says “who are you with?” I said “I’m on my own meeting my mate it’s his Birthday.” He then says they have a policy which states: a customer cannot enter on their own, you must be with someone. (I’ve been to Albert Schloss many times on my own) my friends are already in the bar I reply Well I can’t see them he said loudly so you’d best phone them tell them to come to the door. Is this for real? I ask and then the Head bouncer starts shouting in my face if you don’t like it you don’t have to come in! At this point I’m trying to find my friends phone number in my contacts on my phone but it’s taking long so I quickly ask Siri to find the number. The Head bouncer then gets aggressive again and shouts “right! You’re not coming in with that attitude! What attitude? I reply, he said you are standing there muttering. I said I’m trying to find the number. He repeats your not coming in here! I asked why has he decided to single me out and he just keeps repeating your not coming in here. I tell him that I’ve been to the bar many times so what’s the big deal. At this point my friends (who can see me from the beer garden) go and speak to one of the other bouncers. The bouncer says if I apologise then the head bouncer might let me into the bar. I said no, I did nothing wrong so there’s nothing to apologise for. I did apologise to my friend though, he felt obliged to leave Albert Schloss on his birthday celebration to join me in another nearby bar which welcomed us without aggressive Head Bouncers with misaligned motives. Please note: this is a decent bar with a great atmosphere, I haven’t eaten there yet and I’m told the food is good but this treatment felt like racism in the 70’s, I thought we’d past all that but it’s still prevalent and people like that Bighead bouncer at Albert Schloss in Birmingham just enforce it.

Getting unsafe there. Constant fighting, got injured from getting caught in-between a group of men fighting with each other. They need to restore their formal to smart casual dress code and stricter security.

Stopped off as a group for a late Sunday Breakfast. It was quite quiet in the place when we arrived though got busier as time went on. The service was friendly and attentive and even with the large numbers of us the drinks and food came out in good time (think leisurely unrushed breakfast rather than speedy) and they ensured we had plenty of drinks and were comfortable whilst we waited. As a big coffee drinker I was impressed with their coffee, which had good well balanced flavours with little of the bitterness that can sometimes come from darker roasts (the coffees are quite small though and only come in one size). I had maple pancakes with bacon and egg, which was hot tasty and well cooked. My wife had the cookhouse (full English) which again was reported to be excellent. For some reason on a Sunday Morning they had a DJ. The music was good, but nothing that could not have been replaced with a Spotify playlist and someone cutting in between tracks to say stuff to people at the tables. (Not annoying, but felt like a bizarre choice). I'm not a beer drinker so didn't try any of their offerings, but it seems like something they pride themselves in with many varieties even highlighting when the cask/tank was opened. Will be returning when next in the area.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Amazing food, service, entertainment. Few places I find as enjoyable for a meal out.

Great selection of high quality European beers. Very nice ambience. Good food too. Recommend the pastries.

Popped in an hour ago, after enjoying good service and meal on our last visit, about 4 months ago to which we ordered off a main menu and not small/light bites. This time unable to find full menu, no staff to ask, no one behind bar? when a member of staff finally appeared( about 10 minutes after arriving shea approached our table and we thought we were in luck however, there was no acknowledgement of us, just picked up empty glass and walked off🤔 We ordered off the main menu on our last visit which was excellent, friendly service so disappointed writing this review 😔however on this occasion it's a thumbs down, can only presume no staff? We walked out! not the normal German hospitality you received at 4 pm expecting to eat and drink.

I went on a Saturday night with friends, I had never been before so didn't know what to expect. They had a lady singer and a band on who were really good. The place got absolutely rammed very quickly, it was a struggle to move around to get to the bar and the toilet, and people were allowed to stand on the benches to dance..drinks very expensive so bare that in mind.

I recently visited ' Albert's Schloss ' and had a delightful experience. The ambiance was vibrant and welcoming, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for a night out with Live music and well-crafted cocktails.

Visited (not for the first time), on Sunday 9th June for my dad's 60th birthday. The waiters/waitress couldn't do enough for our party of 8! A table nearby even bought my dad a drink, we were then shocked to be told that we could all have a dessert each, ON THE HOUSE. My dad had never been happier going out for a meal in such a lovely venue, with an amazing atmosphere, great music and very very very good food. Thoroughly impressed with how smooth the afternoon/evening went, everything was perfect. Mia was our waitress/waiter for the evening and she was amazing. An absolute credit to the Albert Schloss Birmingham team and a genuine person! Thank you so much, we will be back! (Didn't take any photos because we were too busy enjoying ourselves!) I highly recommend this place to everyone, of all ages. Whether you're after a lively Sunday dinner or a wild week day evening out... it has it all. You won't regret it. Ed

Good atmosphere, food isn't too bad, drinks are LUDICROUSLY priced. Some pints are upwards of £7.
