The Bengal in Exeter

Ordered through just eat, the lady who delivered it was very lovely. The food is 15/10, came hot.

The service was excellent, super friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing, chicken tikka kebab is delicious, would highly recommend 10/10!

Ordered a little late ( 8 mins till close ) sorry chefs ! But they still fulfilled my order, arrived quickly, very hot and very good, this is my second order from here and will now be my first choice every time, good food 10/10

Whoever has been given this place more than 1 star must have been absolutely drunk off their face. I ordered a chicken curry and it was the most bland, tasteless thing I’ve ever had. Don’t waste your money

Absolutely hands down the best lamb Passanda! Love their naans too. If you fancy an Indian give them a try.

Shocking service, rubbish food.

Got a takeaway from here and was a bit disappointed. The portions were small so didn’t fill us up enough. And naan bread was especially disappointing for nearly £4. Not sure we’ll be back here

Firstly serving food with your wife and children present and touching everything is not good Second card machine why cash only very suspect And last having delivery drivers with no hygiene reaching for food and taking orders is a terrible idea Food was terribly wrapped up I got salad in a bag Coleslaw in another bag and pita bread that looked like it was opened by Jack the Ripper instead of warmed and sliced to create a nice pocket for a kebab Massive dissatisfaction won’t be back anytime soon

May not look great from the outside but the mixed kebab is amazing and the service is fab! Was recommend by a friend that uses them regularly!

Please start making again your chicken byriani like before because l have ordered from you recently 3 times with dry chicken. And the chicken wasn't tssty maybe it was bad quality. I like your food so please make again higher quality and standard.

Was passing through the area and thought I’d try this place, food is the best I’ve had in this region of any Indian takeaway, highly recommend it.

Excellent! My mouth is going to explode with happiness. I can thoroughly recommend the Naga chicken, tikka garlic chili and tikka masala plus the mushroom rice and egg fried rice are also very good. Don't forget that if you collect your meal it will come with pilau or boiled rice but if you are using the takeaway service then rice is not included.

I have to say this place goes above and beyond. I was stuck on a question on my crossword for a rice with 5 letters. They were more than happy to help and I now feel I can carry on my day. Thank you team Bengal you are legends.

Amazing service every time I order

Of all the flavours, why so salty? Had a takeaway last night and was not impressed at all. Chicken Tikka Balti was thick with onions and so salty I needed 2 pints of water with it. Definitely won’t be using this place again.

What a great meal I had from here last night

Over priced and small portions. Nan breads were half the size of usual. Orderd two curries in which one had 2 pieces of chicken and the other 3 in the whole dish! Butter chicken was flavourless but tikka was ok. Used to be so lovely but the past couple of times have been such a let down...... I wouldnt recommend unless your happy to pay money for little portions.

we order 99.9 % of the we have take way from here and tonight I haven't even eaten 10% of my food due to the rice being over cooked and sloppy and the Korma sauce as oily and every bitty (to be far it tasted like it was left from night b4 ) it's put me off from ordering curry from here again

I ordered a curry from here for the first time for me and my family. The service and food was first class. The delivery driver was really friendly and the food arrived just before my ETA. The food it’s self was freshly cooked and tasted really nice. I would definitely recommend the Bengal in Heavitree to anyone wanting a quality curry at a reasonable price.

To be honest this is not a indian food place! I ordered biriyani! But go some yellow rice with no spices or no flavour at all. The curry was bad and couldn’t even describe my self how disgusting it taste. It’s shocking how people eat such bad quality of food for their money. Appearance will tell you story of the restaurant! Seriously concern about food poisoning! Have to say nothing personal! But this food we talking about and I could go horribly wrong for people by causing too much trouble!

Lamb jalfrezi, was bland, no spice compared to other takeaway/restaurants ive eaten from.. The sauce was pureed onions, with more onions.. Half of lamb went in the bin as it was full of gristle and fat . Wish Id read the reviews first .. I'm surprised the bengal takeaway is still in business ..the worst I have had

This was the most disappointing curry I have ever tasted. A chunky soup would be a more accurate description. Yellow sauce more like chip shop curry sauce with veg and meat lamb tough. Various supermarket jars have more authentic taste. I just pray it was just poor and will not make me illl

Had takeaway from here and it was terrible. Unedible, was the worst food ive eaten.

Ordered a king prawn dupiaza and a king prawn bhuna with a few sides... delivery areived earlier than expected (probably the only good point), took 2 containers out of the bag seperately labelled as bhuna and dupiaza - and they were both what i can only describe as a kind of king prawn and onion soup. They looked and tasted exactly the same, there was no difference in them whatsoever. They were watery, the flavour vaguely resembled a small amount of curry powder mixed into some warm water. Pilau rice and onion bhajis were nice, keema naan also good. Wouldn't eat from here again.

Delivery was late and the food was cold, never again!

I have bought from this Indian several times and found that the delivery time has been anywhere up to an hour, which you would expect. The food is always cooked to a good standard and the prices are reasonable and I will keep going back. 4* keep up the good work.

Food was 1hr30 with the delivery courier blaming her information about the address - information that was clearly given when ordering. The food itself was tasteless apart from one of the dishes which was 50% green chilli - not in a good way. Dal was the most disappointing. Every curry house should make a good dal, but this was just unseasoned yellow split pea puree. No Garlic, no seasoning, no ghee, no green chilli. Dire!

Poor timing of delivery ordered 740 and arrived at 850, nxt time think its best to collect! Food though tastes good poor service.
