The Bell Inn in Test Valley

We went today, 28/05/2023 and it was closed. Under refurbishment according to the notice board. I was looking forward to coming back here while I was in this area.

We went today Sunday 28th Aug 2022. We We have to say it was absolutely amazing. Choice of Beef, Pork and Turkey with all the trimmings and vegetables cooked to perfection and a great selection of condiments for the well cooked joints of meat. £13.95 a head and it was worth every penny. Its a nice pub near the weekend market in Weyhill and there is plenty of parking out front. The garden is lovely and the staff/owners are very friendly and welcoming. The best Sunday Lunch we've had for a long time and we will be going back again. 10/10

Staff very friendly, but carvery was very disappointing

Food was delicious. Huge varied menu. Will be going back to try out more! Staff were so friendly. Pub and toilets were spotless. Less than £50 for 2 adult and 2 kids meals including drinks. Play area for kids. My new local go-to for family meals. Thank you.

Stopped here as driving past on the way to Devon. Was able to enjoy a Sunday Carvery without booking ahead. Good choice of 3 roasts with plenty of vegetables, roasties and all the trimmings. Plenty of parking for the Motorhome 👍

Booked here with some family members for their Sunday Carvery just before Christmas. Couldn't really fault it we arrived on time parked easily. When we entered we were shown to our table, the carvery had a good selection of Turkey, Beef (Topside) and Ham. There was a wide selection of vegetables, with gravies and sauces. We found that the overall selection was good. It was well presented, well cooked and very tasty, we would definitely recommend. Just one thing though our experience is that it's all a matter of timing. The later you leave it ........

The WORST fish and chips we have EVER had!! The fish was not fried so the batter was soft and anemic, The chips must have been heated and reheated many times so were wrinkled and soggy, but the peas were passable! I ate the fish as boiled rather than fried fish by removing the batter. Such a huge disappointment. We complained to the waitress but nothing was done and we were expected to pay full price. Lesson to be learned: if no one else is eating in the pub then walk straight back out of the door!!

Booked in for COVID restricted roast dinner. They have catered for this very well providing a large heated outside marquee. Food was fantastic as was the lovely waitress “Ruby jean”. Me and my wife will defiantly be returning. Ps. Dog friendly too Thank you all for you warm welcome.

overall nice place and good deserts. Recently went for carvery and I must say the waitress Charlotte i think it was lit the whole place up with her smile and bubbly personality, its rare thing these days to see such great service and a smile even in such difficult times.

Great carvery, though a bit deserted at lunchtime. They let me set up my laptop computer so I could make a DVD of some data which I needed. Thanks to the management for that.

Lovely staff and the carvery was great value. It's fairly quiet so great if you don't like crowded places.

Had the roast . It was just fine , coke was flat which was a shame. Staff were friendly. Good value. It would be really nice to see cauliflower cheese on the hot plate.

Staff are welcoming and friendly, lovely food in thier restaurant, the rooms are nice i given 4 stars due to sleeping on two single beds pushed together which was alittle uncomfy, breakfast was nice.

Our group of 23 had a very nice Carvery Lunch on Wednesday, the main course and the puddings were excellent and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Thank you for a very enjoyable time.

Went to here for a custom bike and car show. Lovely atmosphere very busy that day but great service in the pub and we even had great food as the pud is a carvery.

We've had 2 lovely afternoons here as a big group of parents and children ranging from 2 upto 12, who have all loved playing on the inflatables, trampoline and with other toys in the garden. The staff are very friendly and helping and even made sure all the childrens meals came out together today. Good place to catch up with friends and family.

Not very good, went in for a carvery with my partner and friends - when we went up to get it, was told that it would take 3 minutes to cook some pork that had been sat on the side for all to see all day. When questioned about this he said "don't worry. I have a good oven." I don't know any ovens that can cook pork in 3 minutes flat. Quite litrally food poisoning waiting to happen. Drinks are all flat as it's all on tap and you can quite litrally taste the syrup used to make it. The only reason it got an extra star bringing it up to 2 stars is because it had a lovely garden with plenty to do for the kids. Probably wont ever be coming back here. Sorry guys.

Food poisoning waiting to happen, what food was left from the all day carvety was out on display which was warm (a breeding ground for bacteria) we definitely had a lucky escape by going elsewhere.

Slightly out of town with a large family friendly pub and big beer garden,lots of things for kids to do

Group off us. Food was great. The sevice was bad from some servers with the cant be bothered attitude. Children had to wait for there ice cream and by the time it arrived the adults had finnished there dessert.. Would come here again

We have a lovely meal here for my mum's birthday. Food was lovely, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the children enjoyed playing outside with all of the toys!

A generous portion of Chilli and Rice followed by Apple Crumble topped with Ice Cream. Good quality food, friendly Service and comfortable atmophere. Thank you.

Fantastic Sunday carvery, very reasonable prices and excellent food.

What a lovely evening. We had a group of 22 of us and we got a very friendly welcome, the food was fantastic and the price was most agreeable. I don't know how they can put on such a lovely spread for such a low cost. That roast beef just melted in my mouth. Well worth a visit!

Food was ok, everything else was bad. Carbonated drinks were flat, food took ages to arrive, when it did arrive some of it was wrong (beef for a vegetarian for example), the only waitress was incompetent to say the least and kept giving us sob stories about her life. It was very dark and dingy inside, no atmosphere and quite empty. I'd be very surprised if the place stays open for much longer than another month.

Finally a pub that serves a decent pint and serves a really good carvery. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Excellent homely pub. Very polite and welcoming for family's including dogs. The kids loved the garden as there was atrampoline and a bouncy castle. Food was excellent. Will definaitly go again if we are in that area

Dated but great service with lovely food.

It does a wonderful carvery 7 days a week also does more mails to order at care prices also you can order afters also it's a nice place to take the whole family and friends. Opens at 12 noon until late so just try it for yourselves.

Shocking! Chef doesn't know what's in their food! My family of four with our ten month old daughter who has a milk allergy turned up here for Sunday lunch only to be told they didn't have an allergy list. As with having a child who has an allergy we know that it's the law to provide a list of allergens when serving unpackaged food within a business that sells food stuffs. We asked the waitress to start with who didn't have a clue what one was, then another who just asked what it is we wanted and told us what food had milk in and what not which is not good enough as when we asked about the carrots which we could clearly see had been cooked in butter due to the residue left in the dish, she replied they didn't contain milk! We then asked the chef and he also stated he's never heard of an allergen list and they've never had one. So if you like to know what's going in your food and you want to have faith in the chef that's cooking your food I'd avoid this place!!

Quite simply travelling through, and was craving a carvery! Had the said carvery and the said carvery was quite simply PERFECTION ON A PLATE! Better than the chain ones, nice relaxed setting, lovely landlady and nice beer garden ! I highly reccomend to u all

Great place to take the kids for a play on there Bouncy Castle, food is not to bad. Would recommend to any family wanting a chilled evening :)

Best Sunday carvery ive ever had

One real ale that was just okay and basic value for money food.

The carvery was really nice. But the service was shocking. 3 girls only bothered about cleaning cutlery and laying tables out. Was told to find a table myself by a girl who looked totally disinterested. They smiled politely but I had to ask to order drinks which seemed an inconvenience. As the plates were cleared I said I'd like to order deserts but after 10 minutes of the same girl walking past lots of times we gave up paid at the bar and left. Won't go back
