Great boozer, friendly owners who also have lovely pet dogs. Few mates and I visited a couple of times and loved it. Friendly, good price, food looked very nice too although we didn't eat. Would definitely recommend going here if you are in the area.

The pub was clean and the menu was easy to read with a reasonable choice. The six of us enjoyed our meals and the efficient service. It was good value. Our dog was very welcome.

I visited this pub Mar 24 for a pub meal. The food is proper 'Pub Grub' and myself and my wife both had the beef and ale pie. It was excellent. The beer was spot on and it's great to find a dark mild still being served somewhere. The staff are friendly and very efficient, and the Landlord, who was very friendly, appears to run the pub as pubs used to be run. Thank you. We will be returning. Allan

Visited for the beer festival and enjoyed sampling many of the real ales, some Turkish grilled meat from the barbecue was being served during the evening it was authentic and very tasty indeed! Well stocked bars inside and outside in the barn, the pub has large beer garden and is pet / child friendly too. Very attentive staff ensured our glasses were never empty and our tables cleared regularly. Seems popular with locals and visitors from further afield too, enjoyed our visit.

My partner found this place by sheer luck on Tripadvisor, and it is now our favorite pub in Cambridgeshire. This venue provided amazing service and the most delicious Sunday roast. The beef was amazing, as was the crumble and custard for dessert.

We visited in November 2021, the pub put on a fireworks display for the locals and visitors. Our son really enjoyed the display. They provided free snacks during the display. Good selection of drinks, enjoyed our meal earlier in the evening too. 5 STar venue *****

We were visiting family in Balsham for a couple of days & stumbled across this pub -- and how lucky we were. The staff are lovely (especially the woman who runs the place) & the food is superb. Prices are really reasonable. We were made so welcome here -- it's a special place. Usually on a two-night break we'd never go back to the same place on successive nights, but we made an exception for the wonderful Bell Inn Wish it was our local.

After seeing this pub feature so often on the local Facebook group, I decided to drop in myself and give It a go. Enjoyed listening to hits from the David Bowie on the music box, whilst enjoying a lovely drop of real ale. I Had a lovely chat with the fellow behind the bar, who was happy to discuss their rotation of casks, line maintenance etc, plus a very good conversation with one of the locals on the long-standing britpop feud of oasis v blur! Great vibe for a Saturday afternoon.

I visited the Bell for a few drinks and to watch the football that was on. I found this pub to be the best place around to watch sport and the staff are so friendly as well. Sam was really friendly and helpful throughout my visit, and also Nimm and Millie were excellent as well. A really good experience and a great place to visit in the Cambridge village of Balsham.

Nice cafe to go to for a coffee and cake after a long walk around the country park. Great decking area to the side of the cafe and a lovely balcony at the back overlooking the lake.

My favourite place to visit when near Cambridge. You could not ask for a more quintessential pub experience than at Chequers in Fowlmere. Everyone here is so kind, generous, and social. Chris and Jade are the best - love me some Struan! Even visitors feel like they've been going to this pub for years and are just part of the whole crew. Can't think of a better place to celebrate a birthday with friends, have a pint with your best friend, or just enjoy some fantastic British food and drink. Can't wait to go back again!

It was a Thursday lunch time when I visited. It was quiet with only four or five other customers. I was served quickly by friendly staff. The cheese scone and cake were good as was the coffee. The prices were reasonable making it reasonable value for money. Free WiFi was available, always a plus. Quite nice smart rustic decore, if that is not a contradiction. There is also an outside area to sir. I feel a bit mean 'only" giving it four stars; my head says it deserved five but my heart stopped giving it the full quota of stars. I have visited several times since my first visit, the latest in January 2022. In this latest visit I had a cherry frangipane tart and it was sublime; a nice crispy crust, soft frangipani, plenty of succulent cherries and a delicious pastry base. For this reason I have increased my initial 4-star review up to five. July 2022 - still great. June 2023 - still just as good. September 2023 - still great.
