Had a fantastic Sunday Lunch with our daughter & partner. The food was delicious…traditional home cooked roast with lots of vegetables, followed by homemade apple crumble & custard. Very full happy customers!

Cracking pint of Guinness and the Sunday dinners looked spot on. Unfortunately had dinner plans already. Proper village pub with a nice atmosphere, didn't feel unwelcome as a visitor like you can in some places.

First time we had tried this pub for lunch. We received a warm welcome but the dining area was very cold. Like so many other outlets the menu was limited but what we chose was fine and prices per item were very reasonable. I suspect that evening trade is much busier that lunch times so bound to be a much better atmosphere then.

The food here is really bad. The pie was disgusting and bought in, no meat in it. The battered fresh fish was tiny. Should have known better as the place was empty! The barman was the best bit about the pub as he was very nice lad. Other than that terrible!

Great pub, nice staff, could do with opening up Friday & maybe Saturday all day to account for public that have children & May want to take advantage of a 4,5,6pm few drinks with friends before the children need to go to bed! Or just because you've fancy a few after work without waiting till 7pm

We'd read a negative review about the pub since it changed hands, but decided to take our chances. Big mistake!! We'd booked Sunday lunch over the phone but when we arrived in person both the staff and the locals inside made it abundantly clear we were not welcome in their pub. No problem...the Lordleaze Hotel gave us a lovely warm welcome and a delicious Sunday roast!!

An interesting pub. If you like 70's decor with 80's music and 90's standard of service then this is your place. The food is very good and Tony is a genial host.

This place has definitely gone down hill since the change of management all the foods seem to have changed donar kebab use to be my go to thats been changed and tastes horrendous the chicken kebab was my 2nd choice but even that seems undercooked and softer than it needs to be ill ignore the fact it tastes like the smell of some dog foods.. so im Guessing the chicken has changed too.. i refuse to order pizzas from there now as they are tasteless or tastes watery more often than not where i assume its a frozen and badly defrosted base.. and ontop of all that the prices are shocking for the portions you now get... old management had it right id much rather go to somertons chicken and pizza land now or over to south petherton and i live local to chubbies the chips i had tonight looked like they had been deep fried about 3 times and were now all rubbery... its not a good look at all i can see another hand over in the future as for the service it was reasonable kind of.. the chef friendly and welcoming if you like being ignored.. i genuinely feel like i have wasted my money cos i havent eaten the food ordered.. i cant.

I didn’t want to write this but I’m fed up of being ashamed to spend my money, when I go to costa I often receive horrible comments and on numerous occasions how this staff members doesn’t know how I can spend so much money on a drink and sandwich. He has said before how female customers are the ones that cause an issue if there is one, how it tends to be like a care home in costa some days. Does he know without customers he wouldn’t have a job? I often hear how he doesn’t have time for a break or something to eat. Yet he clearly has time to judge others. Please feel free to contact me or send an email address in the comments do discuss further.

A bit dated but adequate, dog friendly which was main reason for booking, we stayed one night had breakfast, room has creaking floor boards the radiator made a noise when walking past it. The duvet was very thin. Food was fine but why have a machine for coffee or tea, as usual health a safety means scummy tepid water. We were out for dinner came back after 12 and the key card would not work, had to wait for night porter.
