Waited a while for our drinks then when they came didn’t want to stir them as spoons were filthy and stained heavily like they being digging potatoes previously. Doesnt take much to clean cutlery properly more effort could be made. Put us off the drinks when the spoons were so dirty.

We went to Mercia Marina for some brunch. The cafe that we usually visited was in a state of demolition, so we had a wander and saw the Beetroot Tree, the name instantly turned me off, thinking it was going to be some hippy dippy vegan cafe selling humous snacks and lentil crisps.., how wrong I was. We ordered pots of tea and I had Eggs Benedict and my wife had Eggs Royale. They came within 10 mins of ordering and they were generous in portion with high quality ingredients and cooked superbly.,they were also good value for money. The pots of tea were lovely (no PGTips floor sweepings). My only criticism was there was no salt and pepper either on the table or brought with the meal. Great location, great service, brilliant food.

Went for breakfast this morning. Have been several times before and were very impressed. Unfortunately, this morning the food was luke warm, as it was served on a stone cold plate, the poached eggs were hard and rubbery and overall it wasn't a nice experience. We love coming here and haven't had a bad meal yet, until this morning. Also, as I don't like baked beans, the staff normally substitute this for something else, like an extra egg, or extra mushrooms, but this wasn't offered today either

Dog friendly so that’s a big tick. Also complimentary biscuit with your coffee, otherwise a bit average. Not much atmosphere Sorry.

We went as a large group (6). The service was excellent and the food was good and plentiful. £18 per head, excellent value for money!

The food and drink were very tasty, but I'd like to praise the staff. We went on a Saturday morning, and there were four young girls working. They were all so friendly, whilst being good at their work, and very efficient. They made the place a really happy place. Well done girls!

A lovely cafe very busy managed to grab a table outside which meant I had some great views of the Marina! Service was very good I was told there was a 30 minute wait for food but feel it came out much quicker!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff at beetroot tree when we visited the other day. Lovely service. Polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and the refurbishment was stunning. A lot of hard work has gone into this place and people need to embrace change. Beautiful setting on the marina on a gorgeous sunny day.

Was treated to a cream tea for two ,it was delicious ,plenty of everything , so much in fact we couldn’t eat it all ,the very pleasant staff, put what we didn’t eat into a takeaway box, and we enjoyed a second cream tea next day. Thanks to all involved.

The cafe and food itself was lovely. Our experience was poor due to one staff member being rude - clearly having a bad day, huffing and puffing at the rest of the staff. Both doors were open meaning there was a strong breeze through the cafe making us cold. Elderly couple next to us shivering. We closed the door only to find it was opened again straight away. When we shared it was cold with this staff member we were told “it had to be open because the staff were hot” so definitely not the customers come first attitude and no regard for those trying to eat in the path of the breeze. Her manner was rude when she cleared the tables and not one smile seen. Definitely not the sort of person you would want at the front of the house. Her alone has put me off returning. I have to say though the other staff members were lovely and I had sympathy for them having to work with her.

Went for Sunday Lunch, But were a bit late as it was 4.30 when we arrived. Hardly anybody in, so no struggle to find a table. San Miguel on table fairly quickly. Ordered Roast Beef and Roast Pork. Pork described as Loin of Pork and picture in the menu. Arrived in a reasonable time as only six people in the restaurant. Vedge very well cooked. Not too Al dente of boiled to death. My Beef had quite a bit of fat on it. The Pork loin looked like two or three slices of thin pork slices. So thin my partner could not tast it. Yorkshire Puddings were very solid and took a lot of cutting. To be fair it was late in the afternoon, and I can imagine at that time they would not be cooked fresh, but just some they had left from earlier in the day. Roast Beef cost £17.50. Pork £15.99. 2 pints of San Miguel were £6.05 each, which I consider a bit steep. I realise the hospitality buisiness is facing a lot of challenges just now after Labours Tax Everthing and Everybody policy. But I think this is quite a lot of money for what we had.

It was a huge disappointment. I had planned a relaxing spa day with my husband, but this place was nothing like a real spa. There were only two small cabins with a sauna and jacuzzi, hidden away in a scruffy corner of the hotel. Lounge chairs were awkwardly placed in the hallway. The outdoor pool was freezing, and of course, we got the usual speech about it being a "health pool," but that was just an excuse—it was simply a regular pool exposed to the rain. The lockers in the changing room didn’t even have keys. The moment I saw it all, I felt like crying.
