Avoid… Terrible customer service Says it’s open until 11. The lazy barman likes to close at 1015. Probably gets paid until 1130 though eh?

I WENT THERE TO DRINK A PINT AFTER A LONG TRIP. DIMITRI WAS ABSOLUTELY GREAT AND HAD A NICE CHAT! WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

Very friendly and good pints. Dimitri was a hero. Nice music and not terribly priced Would highly recommend if you want a nice drink before your train.

Terrible service. I was told by a surly server that I would have to pay £9.49 for a glass of wine even after I pointed out that it was listed as £8.99 on the drinks list that was on the bar right in front of him. He insisted that the “till wouldn’t let him change it” and when I subsequently asked to talk to the manager he maintained that the manager was not available. I stood my ground (as a lone female traveller I felt vulnerable at this stage) until he did finally call the manager and I was allowed to purchased my drink for the amount on the price list. I visited the toilet which had neither toilet roll nor soap. I informed the bar man. 5 minutes later i couldn’t wait any longer so I went back to the toilet which then had toilet roll but still no soap. When I asked the barman why he hadn’t told me that the toilet roll had been replenished he said “Oh thought you were just letting me know”.! When I asked him about the soap he said brusquely that the dispenser was broken. Awful customer service. Hygiene issues. Avoid at all costs.

Got a beer and 2 x large wine at 1855 Friday night 17th March before our trip home. After queueing for 10 mins as there was only one male barstaff. My bill came to £24.73, and when i paid by card, was told that the transaction had not gone through, and the machine on the right of the bar (where the queue stands), was not working correctly. So i paid again on the other machine. Just checked my credit card transactions, and I have been charged twice, which i can prove. I have tried to call 020 7262 6131 to enquire how i go about being credited for this error, but the number says it is incorrect. Everything does not seem genuine, and feel ripped off knowing im over 2hrs away and this will be an on-cost to me paying twice

My wife and I called in the beer house while waiting for our train home with our 5 month old (asleep) baby. We pulled up a seat and were just getting settled, when the bartender stormed over to us. He walked over and said under 18 year olds aren’t allowed on the premises and that was it. No formalities, just that! I get it might be the “rules”, no matter how stupid! I mean you could use some common sense, she’s a sleeping baby. It’s hardly like she’s running around the place or at risk of ordering a pint! But it was the fact he could have handled it a lot better. A simple “I’m really sorry guys, unfortunately we’re unable to have any younger children under the ages of 18 on the premises sorry. Even if it is a quiet baby, however there is a bar upstairs where you can get a drink”. Just rude staff and not called for, felt like we were the idiots and were terrible parents for even considering stepping into the bar in the first place. If you do want a lovely bar to get a quiet drink however, the Cabin Bar upstairs in Paddington is a much better atmosphere, better seating (not bar stools) and the staff are lovely. And yes babies are allowed!

Popped in yesterday for a cider and was greeted by the wonderful Nathalie who served me with a delightful smile and great service. Will definitely be visiting soon when i’m back in London.

I visited before covid and had a pleasant pint. Since they've reopened, they seem to have shaken things up a bit. The staff were attentive and friendly as usual. I went for a large glass of shiraz which was very reasonably priced, especially for an inner London station. See you soon guys :)

A fantastic place to meet people with exceptional service. A good selection of food and drinks and staff were very helpful in giving advice on various places to visit during our time in the city.

I went on a Thursday night date and the bartender's were all really knowledgeable with drink recommendations. Would definitely recommend to anyone fancying a classic London pub excersion.

Our meal here was quite good, we had the traditional fish and chip chips and it was quite tasty. Tartar sauce and malt vinegar was provided. The portion of mushy peas was quite small; however, I realized they are an acquired taste. The selection of ber and wine was apptopriate, we both had an IPA. Perhaps one f it’s better features than s that it offers a full English breakfast all day. I would recommend it as a nice break from the usual railway station fare.

Situated right on the platforms and in the main lobby area of Paddington this small pub will serve you a cold pint if you just have to have a drink. Plenty of real pubs nearby.

It was refreshing to be greeted and served by friendly staff 19:00 hours last night after a day of poor and unfriendly service experiences around London during our visit that day. Thanks team for restoring a bit of faith in our British hospitality :)

The Beer House is basically just another stall inside Paddington Station, and it's a sad excuse for a pub, too. Hardly any hand-pumped ales on offer, and it's all 101 standard mainstream beers. Doom Bar - my God! The prices are elevated, and it's not a comfortable or relaxing place at all.

Maybe ok for a beer while waiting for your train. But do not drink more than one because you may have to use the loo. Disgusting! I have never seen a more filthy, stinky toilet!

Ordered 2pints Friday lunchtime, bar maid wasn't listening and dismissed me, I went to walk out and she apologised and asked me to repeat my order and gave me some cock and bull story about a woman shouting at her before. She barely spoke good English, drinks were extortionate nearly a tenner for two beers.

Expensive beer £6.10 !!!!! for a pint of average craft. Moody barmaid initially but then was OK later on. OK for a quick beer whilst waiting for a train but sort out prices and attitude.

We recently went to this pub for a drink to round off a pleasant trip to London.We found a table and sat down,the place was fairly busy.We were sat close to the toilets and noticed they were shut,both the male and the female!! we watched as a constant stream of people came over to use them,(some not too impressed by their comments).My husband asked a barman who was collecting glasses how long they had been shut and he replied 11 days.However, my husband had been in London 6 weeks previous to this and the toilets were also shut on that occasion! Surely if an establishment such as this has no working toilets, it should not be open?? is this not a health and safety issue? Would advise that if planning to use this place, you visit a toilet first!

The beer house is a peaceful place tucked out the way at Waterloo station, the food is goo and staff are friendly, handy if waiting for a train

We arrived at the station about an hour early for our train, so stopped in here to sit down & have a drink, the place was rammed with Ascot goers, but we managed to get a seat, pretty average pub, no complaints.

Location is great and looks cozy. Served by a grumpy bartender. A pint of Stella and some crisps while waiting for friends on the Heathrow Express. Good place to pass some time at Paddington but don’t expect much.

Situated on Waterloo Station - quite handy if you have missed your train. Beer selection not bad and priced reasonably. Service good.Food was terrible - not expensive, looks well presented but burgers are tasteless and very greasy. Toilets truly awful.

I've called in here on numerous occasions as although it's over-priced, the service is usually quick and it's a convenient location.

Avoid this place. Pint of draught bitter £5.40. Poor service - getting the member of staff to fill it up was not easy and lots of dirty bottles and glasses over the tables. Plenty of better alternatives nearby.

Strange hut type pub in the centre of Paddington station. Didn’t find it a place I wanted to stay for more than 1 drink. Bit pricey, but an ok location before you board your train

The pub is horrible and freezing cold. the only reason to go is to kill time before your train, and even then getting a can from M&S; would be preferable to this and swigging it on the concourse.

Stopped here on the way to my hotel. Not really around lunch time, so the pub wasn't too crowded. Still, there were good number of people there. I was looking for something simple so I went with their pub burger. The burger was really tasty, service was quick, and the beer selection was quite nice.

We decided on here for lunch after sightseeing in London. The pub was quiet so service was good. We both had a burger which wasn't too bad. The cheesy chips seemed to have squirty out of the bottle cheese so not that impressed. Overall not bad but not the best

Its a pub in the depths of the station - really stygian and gloomy. What it does provide for travellers (in loose order of significance) are toilet facilities without a toll (and the most incredible acrid smell that has been a fixture for years), a warm bolt hole from the concourse hordes - with TVs to watch, an arbitrary selection of cask, craft, and bottled beers at exorbitant prices. I would miss it if it wasn't there, but I do feel that a makeover and a more sensible pricing policy are long overdue.

This bar is located down a flight of stairs off the station concourse at Waterloo. Popped in for a couple of beers before catching the train and was tempted by the 3 small plates for a tenner. Wasn't sure what we were going to end up with but it was brilliant. Freshly cooked fish and a mini portions of hot chips, 2 mini pulled pork baps and a few chicken wings. Perfect to go with good beer. Only problem is you might be tempted with six mini plates.

We dropped in after the piano recital of Maurizio Pollini at RFH. Both the ale and the British beef hamburger was very nice. Especially, I liked the flavour and the taste of the beef hamburger. I will come back for the hamburger from Japan.

I was unimpressed like the other reviews I've just seen. Granted it's in a great situation overlooking the platforms and trains - and the loo was OK when I visited. I think my friends' tea was OK as well. Another friend treated himself and me to hot chocolate - but 'hot' didn't describe it - 'lukewarm' would have done so better. Didn't want to complain as it was a treat. Might have got the scary waitress if I had!!

Called in for a drink whilst waiting for our train. The bar is freezing cold, you couldn't take your coat off, this does not make you want to stay. The price was not too bad £6.25 for a pint of beer and half a lager. We sat at a table and after a while, the barmaid came around and threw a lunch menu on our table. I was quite surprised he managed to come off her mobile phone. She even ignored the bar telephone when it rang. She was also very rude to a delivery man that called with a delivery. I was not sure if this was due to her being of eastern european origin and struggled with the language.

Bar staff stopped serving, as they where too busy. They made the decision despite closing time advertised.

I had arranged a meeting here before I had to catch a train. A woman I assume the duty manager was in her office at the end of the bar and left me waiting for 5 minutes. Coffee was very poor and bacon sandwich was awful. Will not be back

Before leaving London, following family visits we pop in here for a final drink or two prior to taking the Heathrow Connect/ Express for the long 10 hour flight back to Johannesburg.

This review is for The Beer House at Victoria station not Paddington. Opposite Platforms 4 -7 ( from what I can remember?!). Local beers on tap very nice too. Quite a small bar downstairs but more room upstairs. Great place to visit if you have an hour to kill before catching a train

A great little bar in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the train station. Guess what they are not too expensive, you are able to get a selection of food and there are various special offers also.

Came in here after a very poor experience out on the street. Clean, modern bar, comfortable seating & superb pint of Meantime IPA plus excellent Stella Artois served by proficient staff. Also super crispy crisps. Wish we had visited here to begin with.

I visited here with my 13 year old son on our way home. He wanted a fizzy drink, and I fancied a quick half before catching the train home. I was refused service by the Polish manageress on the basis my son is under age. When a barman informed her that is not the law, and I could be served, she said 'it is my law, and we will not serve you'. I have not been back.

Given Waterloo Station has been a recent stop off on my travels, the location of the outlet lends itself quite nicely to the transient traveler whilst waiting for their next train - (its close to the exit for a cheeky smoke). Free WIFI, Clean, yada yada yada, However - the staff are just way too busy catching up on personal issues, having a gossip by the coffee machine discussing shift patterns or just simply not keeping track of "who's next". Perfect example of a bar with a captured audience who's staff are well aware it and therefore ignore the more subtle points of service. Its not rocket science - Be attentive, be speedy and polite with your service and wait until your break to chat about your weekend plans!. I will be back for its convenience but sort the service out and you might just serve that extra pint or glass of wine.

Its the location that makes this place popular and why I give it two stars. But after that, its all downhill.

While not the biggest of pubs so it can get very crowded it is the easiest pub to use when waiting for a train. A great selection of bottled beer with real ale on tap. Very handy if you are waiting for platforms 9 upwards as you literally step onto the platform

Paddington Beer House is situated inside Paddington Station on platform 11. The prices are high but reasonable for the location and there is a good selection of Ales, bottled beers and draughts. The pub has a Cask Marque and the pint I had was refreshing and had been well kept. There is ample seating in the stylishly, old world pub, designed interior of this, glass prefab, building. The departures boards are displayed inside and there is a unisex toilet available to customers. In short a good place to wait for a train but not a place to spend an evening.
