Gorgeous food, excellent service. Really impressed. The cocktails are a really nice touch, nothing ive seen anywhere else. Portions of food are huge, I will be back. Thank you

Website was down so we couldn't book a table. Already one false start of "Big Opening" so really disappointed we couldn't make a future booking....

Myself and three friends went for Sunday lunch on Sunday 21 August. There was one other couple in the restaurant (alarm bells should have started ringing at this point). We ordered two roast beef and two celeriac wellington. The roast potatoes were that over cooked there was no potato inside. The Yorkshire puddings were like polystyrene (they literally snapped / I think they had been under warming lights for three hours). The cauliflower cheese was from a week last Sunday (I’m sure) and the wellington was bland beyond bland. At £21.75 pp you don’t mind if it’s 👌… it wasn’t, it was a shocker. A real shame, the bee hive use to be a real gem. It also felt grotty inside and unloved even though a tasteful make over only a few years ago. Need to clean up and chefs to up their game otherwise it will shutting the shutters again soon. I won’t be returning that’s for sure.

We had a lovely meal at the Beehive. Great outdoor area for early evening drinks in the sun, gorgeous decor and ambience in the pub. Food was great, good choice of drinks and most of all, the service was exceptional. Fantastic friendly and attentive staff. Lovely pub.

I visited The Beehive yesterday with my best pal for tea. We both had the steak pie. It was great to see it was a traditional pie and the whole meal was delicious. The staff are very attentive and we were looked after very well indeed.

We have been here lots of times before as we live locally. Had the steak pie offer tonight, great value, delicious food and excellent service as always. Leon and and Harry were excellent.

A number of small issues which could be rectified quite easily and would gain a 5 star review. This was a very tasty Sunday lunch with exceptionally good beef. Tender and cooked just as I like, with no pink. Rare beef was available if required. The Yorkshire pudding was homemade, served with tasty gravy. Why the low rating you ask. Well there were some negatives. The main one being the food just wasn’t hot. It was luke warm to cold. There weren’t sufficient roast potatoes for 4 people, one small dish between all of us. The cauliflower cheese did not go with the meal. Ditch this and provide more carrots or parsnips and increase the greens. Gravy wise, a very small cream jug is just not sufficient for such a large Yorkshire pudding. The portion sizes for a man with a good appetite wasn’t good. It wasn’t a relaxing experience eating our meal as we felt it had to be eaten so quickly due to the food being so luke warm. The service was pretty slow for taking orders and it wasn’t an a day of being busy with customers. I would be rather concerned about going at a busy time. This place is pretty expensive for food and I wouldn’t say it was value for money. After todays experience I am not sure they can warrant charging the prices they do. If the basic fundamentals are rectified this place could be a special place to dine. As previously stated, the food is tasty, just not enough of it or hot enough.

Went here on a Saturday night for a family meal the service was really poor.Having waited ages to be served when the burger my wife and I had ordered arrived it was dry ,overcooked ,and barely warm. Another one of us ordered the Beef Wellington, the pastry was soggy and the beef undercooked. Will not go back to this pub

3rd visit with friends last Saturday. Best so far. Lamb Breast starter was exceptional. Crab pasta also another hit. Others were also well received. Chicken main was brilliant as was Chicken Leek and Mushroom pie (the description really doesn't do it justice). Others had steaks and burgers. No room for pudding but shared 2 amongst 7 to get a flavour. Will leave more room next time! As on previous occasions, kitchen still focuuses on a relatively small number of perfectly executed dishes. Service was good. We were well looked after. Don't know of anywhere around here doing such good food.

We booked the Beehive for a large family Mother’s Day meal. All the mums were created with a glass of Prosecco on arrival which was a really nice touch. We chose The beehive because we have 2 coeliacs in our party who would require gluten free options and the beehive said they could accommodate this and even make GF Yorkshire puddings! This was such a lovely Sunday dinner. The starters arrived promptly and tasted delicious however no gluten free bread was brought out for the coeliacs so this had to be requested and by the time it came, they had almost finished their soups. The roasts came with a lovely big Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, cauliflower cheese and seasonal greens. The meat was so tender and soft it was lovely! The only downside again was the service and chaos surrounding the gluten free meals. Wrong meals (not GF) were placed down in front of the coeliacs that then had to be taken away and the waiters couldn’t be sure if they had put the right GF sides down so that all had to be removed and more brought out. Some of our party ordered hot drinks while others had desserts but dessert was brought out and there was no sign of the drinks so these needed to be chased. We definitely want to go back and sample their main menu at some point because the food was delicious and the staff meant well it was just obviously a very busy day which lead to some confusion when serving.

Amazing Sunday Roast! Both had the lamb on the special board and it was delicious. Also all dishes come with one of the best cauliflower cheese I’ve ever had.
