The best Greek street food I’ve had in the UK! The owners are so welcoming and the food was so quick to come out. Recommend the halloumi gyros - absolutely delicious. Definitely coming back!

Have driven past here for literally years, and decided to give it a try while out shopping in Otley. What a treat! If you fancy a change from the usual lunch time fare offered elsewhere then this little local is definitely worth a visit. Several interesting sounding traditional Greek dishes but we went for the mini ( not so mini) mezze and hot halloumi salad, which was not so much a typical salad, but more an unxious saucy pot with yummy melted halloumi in it. Everything very tasty and freshly prepared& served with delicious warm bread. Friendly service & nice to hear the background chatter in Greek. Brought home some exquisite orange cake & Baklava to have with cuppa later. All for the price of a panini & coffee elsewhere. Will def return.

Went out for an evening meal. Ordered Moussaka. This came looking dry cold in the middle. Chips were frozen, some cold some warm. Sent it back it came back even more drier having been blasted again I the microwave. Appalling service blaming it on a new member of staff. Would not return and would definitely not recommend.

We had a veggie mezze and a souvlaki. Both delicious. The coffee is outstanding! Great, friendly service. Very professional. Will definitely come back for more.

Wonderful food! Agreed to serve us even though we only had 20 minutes and it was the best giros we've ever tried. Highly recommend.

No allergy menu which was disappointing. Long wait for food to be served. Oregano chips were overpriced and mediocre. No condiments offered or sugar with the hot beverage. Possible racial profiling when leaving made me feel uncomfortable. Staff will be happy to know that we wont be returning

Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. We were visiting Otley for the day and this little place jumped out at us. I had the halloumi salad and my husband had gyros and both were amazing. I tried to recreate mine today at home but it wasn't a patch on this one. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean and felt very covid safe. If we lived locally we would be back in a flash.

Now offering lunch to take out on Fridays and Saturdays I opted for Gyros (one chicken and one pork). Both were fantastic, freshly made and delicious. We'll definitely be ordering again.

First time I've visited & it will be the first of many. Lovely welcome & service, very well organised for Covid & the coffee & cake were delicious. The main menu looked great so back this week to try it. Highly Recommended

My girlfriend and I stopped off for hot drinks and a bowl of chips during our visit to the town. The menu featured some lovely sounding Greek light bites however, as said, we opted for chips. I am so glad we did. The chips are without doubt some of the best I've tasted. I had to ask how they made them because they're so divine. The tea was lovely and the service was great too. Would highly recommend.

We stopped in on our way from Nottingham to Ilkley. This cafe was the first one we found and it provided a welcome hot drink and tea cake! Menu was basic but the one surprise was the baklava, the cafe becomes a Greek restaurant on Saturday nights! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would recommend.

We stopped by and ordered at 12.40 just a toastie and paninni. Unfortunately they were busy serving a table of 4 all full breakfast so at 13.10 we has to ask for it to be take out. This was accommodated but when we opened it up the toastie was just 2 slices of toast with melted cheese not a proper sealed toastie. The Paninni didn't have much filling. We weren't given the sides either. Disappointed for 13.50! Staff lovely, place lovely however. Just unfortunately for us the food was not great foe the price.

We just dropped in for coffee while out in Otley. Nice clean place, friendly waitress and good coffee. We'll probably stop by for breakfast or maybe lunch next time we're in the area.

A really nice place for lunch. A fairly basic menu but far better good home cooking very well done than a fancy menu not up to standard. And the food was tasty and substantial and a real positive being home made chips and fresh vegetables Really friendly and competent service. I was really impressed and hope I to return again. If I had to find a slight critic it would have been nice to have ice in soft drink but I have no doubt that had I asked for it it would have been provided.

My family and I called in for lunch and it was 'Service with a smile' all the way. The waitress moved a chair out of the way of my wheelchair and made sure we were all seated comfortably and she gave us a warm greeting and great service. The prices are very reasonable and the food was cooked good and well presented. We wasn't rushed and we were also given a warm farewell. We will visit again on our next visit to Otley. Well done Dales Café.

We came here after being ignored in another cafe just a few doors down. So glad we did , food was lovely , service was great , would definitely recommend.

Called today for breakfast staff friendly and polite,it was nice and clean and atmosphere good...I had a veggie breakfast my husband normal breakfast my husband enjoyed his said it was good,mine veggie sausage good but the mushrooms and eggs didn’t have much taste and all I tasted was cooking fat so left them .sould try somewhere else next time .

Went into this cafe today for lunch the food was great and reasonably priced the service was excellent and the surroundings were nice and clean. It's nice to visit small businesses to keep them going instead of these big chains, call in if you're in Otley (just opposite Argos) it's well worth a visit. 10/10

Called in for a coffee and teacake whilst out shopping in Otley.The cafe itself doesnt have a cosy feel to it but the staff are warm.We only had Lattes and teacakes but it was nice and the coffee was Hot.Lots of Greek food on menu which sounds nice!

Amazing choice of food for a small cafe. Plenty of hot options such as chilli, pasta, moussaka, soup; which is quite unusual for a small place like this. They open up in the evenings as a proper restaurant, so nice to see the wide food menu during the day.

This was a last minute booking and what a good decision. We had the set meal which at £18 was excellent value for a real taste of Greece. The staff were helpful and informative. The food was well presented, plentiful and came a regular pace. Some dishes we were familiar and some a nice surprise.

My husband and I often pop in for lunch here. The food is always fresh and well cooked. And the chips are a must. I miss the specials . And hope that they will do again as the warm chicken salad was wonderful.

Vine aquí porque estaba sirviendo el desayuno antes que muchos otros lugares en Otley (antes de las 10:00).

Es una pena este no es el lugar de un restaurante más a menudo que un viernes y sábado por la noche. Primera visita esta noche, pero no comer comida chipriota griega / a menudo y este era correcto casera griega/comida chipriota y vino (othello). Sin duda volveremos y comprueba el sitio web real noches griegas con música y baile otros comentarios. Así que si te gusta la auténtica casa de comida casera por favor visite aquí y hacer que este lugar tan concurrido y popular como debería ser

Yo tuve que enviar mi primera lasaña de atrás, ya que no podía masticar. Cuando llegué a otro no había verduras sólo en pequeñas piezas que no podía decir qué. No tomates! ! . La camarera no preguntarme si estaba bien. Tuve que con patatas fritas no sepan bien, no sé qué estaban cocinadas en pero yo tenía un mal sabor todo el día.

Nos compras en Otley en viernes y decidimos entrar a la cafetería dales para una rápida taza y un tostado teacake. Fue la hora de la comida y había un par de mesas libres. Nos tomamos el té para dos, una muy generosa, que costaba £1 teteras. 40 cada uno y delicioso pan tostado a £1. tanto a 70 cada uno. El personal era muy agradable y la comida se sirven parecía muy sabroso. Creo que siempre los platos vacíos volver a la cocina son una buena señal. Por la noche se convierte en un restaurante griego, así que puede volver y probar cuando en el área de nuevo.

Very nice food, and fairly big portions. Friendly and welcoming staff. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. Would visit again if in the area.

Stopped here on our day visit to Otley. We had a great lunch here, the food and drinks were all very hot and the meal was coked ( 1st class) would highly recommend.

Enjoyed the Saturday night Greek set meal with my husband. Food was delicious, authentic and plentiful. The Greek family who run the place are friendly and efficient. Definitely going back and taking friends.

We have been using dales for years and never had a bad experience the staff are friendly and welcoming and the food has always been plentiful and fresh. We have tried their Greek nights which was fantastic.

As a proud straight male I was more shocked than an electrician (LOL :D) when I found myself very attracted the nice young man who was in better shape that a triangle ( LOL, I'm toooooo funny). The food ravished me also, the best Greek food that has ever laid bare upon my taste buds, and I have discovered the wonders of Thailand! Rate it a solid 10/10 Pats.

Whilst in Otley the other day, we decided to try The Dales Cafe. We like to try different cafes each time we visit. Luckily, there are plenty of tables, unlike some others that seem to have a couple. We got sat down and a young lady took our order. The staff are all very pleasent and polite which is always nice to see. The drinks came, I had a hot chocolate which was lovely and my friend had a latte which she said was very very hot. The toasted teacake was really nice and it was already buttered which is good as sometimes you are given rock hard butter which you can't spread. Although the place and the service were great, our table for some unknown reason was very sticky. The prices were about average. We would visit here again.

I visited with my boyfriend and the Saturday night Greek meze was fantastic. A small family run cafe/restaurant, excellent service and amazing traditional Greek food. We'll definitely be visiting again!

Fairly small but friendly town centre cafe.Clean,tidy & welcoming,friendly service.Food is basic but nicely presented,portions more than adequate.Prices are low which might be due to competition in this small town.Would return as other similar cafes nearby have not impressed.

Found the Dales Cafe when we were looking round otley. The cafe doubles up as a greek restaurant on Saturday night. Ordered an omlette and a cheese burger. Both meals were plentiful and delicious, freshly cooked in the open to view kitchen. Staff were friendly and the cafe was clean. We will return to sample the greek restaurant.

Met up with family - for yet another great Greek night! In the daytime, this is a cafe, but certain evenings, the Greek owner (Thomas) turns it into Thomas' Taverna - and serves a traditional meze dinner of umpteen courses of Greek food. The 'in-house' entertainment is good, we all joined in the dancing - and an added bonus - another guest (Greek) borrowed a mandolin - and treat us to some impromptu music! He was brilliant! We have been here many times, and I cannot praise it enough!

Had coffee here with a friend, which she was not particularly fond of saying it was bitter and not the best. One man serving so we sat for a while before order was taken. Not very friendly service or a smile. Prices ok and menu was good. Floor is still very slippery, even when it is dry. The smell of cooking and hot fat was a little overwhelming and lingered on clothing after we left. The money was taken by a lady, who had taken over from the man, and was a lot friendlier.

During the day the Dales is a pleasant unassuming café in Otley (near Argos and the bus station) - but on Saturday evenings it transforms to a fantastic Greek restaurant where basically for around £18 you get a huge mezze then a lovely main course. Can have meat or veggie options.The taramasalata was the best we'd had; and the vine leaves, stuffed peppers, stephado etc were lovely. Big portions, pleasant atmosphere, very friendly(Greek) owners and staff. Will most definitely return.

Visited here for a quick morning snack. Tiled floor was very slippery as it had been raining so getting to a table was rather precarious. Toasted teacake was OK but had better. Tea was refreshing. Service OK.

First try today after reading about the place. Out of egg mayo which was a (minor) blot. I tried an omelette - very good, served with great chunky chips and a salad.It has a fairly standard cafe menu with just a couple of items harking to the Greek heritage. I must try and work my way through a bit more of the menu. The Greek evenings look fascinating though the information on the frequency of these is not readily obvious. I saw a Greek dance evening advertised for a couple of weeks time. Cannot imagine how this works in such a relatively small venue.A good find I suspect.

Lovely food, lovely friendly staff. The waitress even caught and released a wasp from near our table which we were terrified of.

When ever we are in Otley we always call in here to eat, Greek owners and the staff are friendly and efficient. I usually have the Cheese Burgher, comes with a nice salad and chunky rustic REAL chips and the wife has a baguette with the same trimmings or an omelette. We have never in all our visits here received anything other than quality and excellent service. Saturday nights it turns into a Greek Taverna, not to be missed though you have to book in advance, well in advance.

This is a very popular cafe with locals and visitors alike, and it is easy to see why. Although the menu is the typical caff fare (apart from a couple of Greek specials), the actual food is a bit better than the norm. It is freshly prepared to order, substantial in quantity, and very tasty. The prices are also very reasonable.When you add the pleasant, friendly service it is easy to see why the place is so popular.

We called in at this cafe on a trip to Otley. We were really hungry and it was well past lunchtime but too early for evening meal. We ordered beef baguette and chips, not expecting it to be great. However it was really delicious, well cooked, hot food and plenty of it. Reasonably priced too. Finished off with an excellent pot of tea. Would definitely recommend this cafe.

We went for lunch on a Monday when most of the rest of Otley seems to be closed. We had a cheeseburger with chips and salad and a vegetable lasagne with salad. The cheeseburger was ok, nice bread and the menu said that the meat all came from local butchers which can't be bad. The chips were nice and extra chunky. The lasagne was a bit measly, and very dry, with carrots in it (carrots in a lasagne?). There was a big portion of salad which was welcome, however the coleslaw was really gloopy and the rest of the salad unimaginative.

Call here for coffee and a bacon sandwich, serves all day breakfast and a good variety of foods from burgers to baked potato's, salads and a good fry up.. .All at a competitive price.Situated at the bottom of the market place and bus station. Bistro type venue, clean and welcoming. The lady that served us was so pleasant and polite, a pleasure to visit. All food cooked fresh to order and can be seen prepared behind the counter. We had bacon sandwiches and tea....but looking at the other diners food, it was certainly generous in portions...Saturday evening is turned into a restaurant...will have to revisit and sample the food then.Busy place and looks to be well supported by locals and a shoppers alike.

This is a great café that also opens as a restaurant on Saturday evenings. We go there all the time and usually have an omelette with salad and chips, or the beef baguette which comes with chips or salad. I have also had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, and the lamb (Greek style), and we normally finish off with a scone with jam and (proper) whipped cream, or one of the huge slices of cake. The café is owned and run by Thomas and the quality of the food, the size of the portions and the value for money are all excellent. I could not recommend this cafe highly enough, we have never been disappointed.

We've visited The Dales Cafe at Otley a couple of times for a sandwich and have been made welcome on each occasion. There's a Greek flavour to the Cafe decor with a bouzouki on display and Greek wine on display in the chiller cabinet. Food is nicely presented - e.g. sandwiches are well filled and have a crisp salad garnish and coleslaw - and is very reasonably priced. The cafe has been well populated with locals each time we've been and the owner has gone out of his way to say cheerio and thanks as we've departed, which we appreciate. The business is family run and becomes Thomas's Taverna on Friday and Saturday nights.
